Dynamic modeling and simulation of blade-casing system with rubbing considering time-varying stiffness and mass of casing

As a common fault of the aero-engine,the blade-casing rubbing(BCR)has the potential to cause catastrophic accidents.In this paper,to investigate the dynamic responses and wear characteristics of the system,the laminated shell element is used to establish the finite element model(FEM)of a flexibly coated casing system.Using the shell element,the blade is modeled,and the surface stress of the blade is calculated.The stress-solving method of the blade is validated through comparisons with the measured time-domain waveform of the stress.Then,a dynamic model of a blade-flexibly coated casing system with rubbing is proposed,accounting for the time-varying mass and stiffness of the casing caused by coating wear.The effects of the proposed flexible casing model are compared with those of a rigid casing model,and the stress changes induced by rubbing are investigated.The results show that the natural characteristics of the coated casing decrease due to the coating wear.The flexibly coated casing model is found to be more suitable for studying casing vibration.Additionally,the stress changes caused by rubbing are slight,and the change in the stress maximum is approximately 5%under the influence of the abrasive coating. 展开更多

In addition to blade-to-casing rubbing,drum-to-labyrinth rubbing is another common interaction in aero-engines.In this study,the labyrinth seal is simplified and modeled as an inner ring.First,considering the flexibility of both the drum and inner ring,a novel rubbing force model applicable to drum-inner ring rubbing is proposed,and this model is partially validated with the measured vibration responses.Incorporating both drum-inner ring rubbing faults and bolt joint effects,a dynamic model of the shaft-diskdrum-inner ring-vane-casing system(SDDIRVCS)is established with beam-shell hybrid elements to investigate the nonlinear dynamic responses induced by rubbing at various rotational speeds.The established dynamic model of the SDDIRVCS is validated by the comparison of its modal characteristics with those obtained from the ANSYS simulations.The results indicate that the rotor spectrum is dominated by odd-multiple harmonics,while the stator spectrum exhibits prominent even-multiple harmonics.Moreover,the rubbing location between the drum and the inner ring varies with the dynamic behavior of the rotor system. 展开更多

Transient state analysis of a rub-impact rotor system during maneuvering flight

Maneuvering flight substantially affects the dynamic behavior of rotors;particularly,such flight may cause rubbing between a rotor and stator,which is one of the most serious damages in aircraft engines.In this paper,a nonlinear dynamic model for describing the dynamic characteristics of a rub-impact rotor system during maneuvering flight is established based on the Lagrange equations.Subsequently,numerical simulations employing the Newmark method are performed,delving into the detailed discussion of the influence of parameters such as rotational speed and maneuvering flight on the transient and steady-state responses of the rotor system.The effect mechanism of maneuver load and its coupling with rub impact is revealed.The results show that the impact response induced by maneuvering flight is more obvious in the subcritical state than in the supercritical state.The additional stiffness and damping are also induced;in particular,the additional damping has a coupling effect.Moreover,the rub impact imposes an additional constraint on the rotor system,thereby weakening the influence of the maneuver load and becoming the major factor that determines the dynamic behavior of the rotor system at high speeds. 展开更多

Blade rubbing faults cause detrimental impact on the operation of aeroengines. Most of the existing studies on blade rubbing in the shaft-disk-blade-casing(SDBC) system have overlooked the elastic deformation of the blade, while some only consider the whirl of the rotor, neglecting its spin. To address these limitations, this paper proposes a dynamic model with large rotation for the SDBC system. The model incorporates the spin and whirl of the rotor, enabling the realistic reproduction of multiblade rubbing faults. To verify the accuracy of the SDBC model with large rotation and demonstrate its capability to effectively consider the rotational effects such as the centrifugal stiffening and gyroscopic effects, the natural characteristics and dynamic responses of the proposed model are compared with those obtained from reported research and experimental results. Furthermore, the effects of the rotating speed, contact stiffness,and blade number on the dynamic characteristics of the SDBC system with multi-blade rubbing are investigated. The results indicate that the phase angle between the rotor deflection and the unbalance excitation force increases with the increasing rotating speed,which significantly influences the rubbing penetration of each blade. The natural frequency of the SDBC system with rubbing constrain can be observed in the acceleration response of the casing and the torsional response of the shaft, and the frequency is related to the contact stiffness. Moreover, the vibration amplitude increases significantly with the product of the blade number under rubbing, and the rotating frequency approaches the natural frequency of the SDBC system. The proposed model can provide valuable insight for the fault diagnosis of rubbing in bladed rotating machinery. 展开更多

In aero-engines, abrasive coatings are typically utilized to protect the blade tip from excessive wear caused by the harder abradable sealing coating and thereby improve the sealing performance of engines. Therefore, a Ni/cBN abrasive coating was prepared on titanium alloy using electrodeposition. The high-speed rubbing tests with a linear velocity of 350 m/s and different incursion rates were performed to investigate the effect of the Ni/cBN abrasive coating on the wear behavior against NiCrAl/diatomite seal coating. Results showed that melting wear and adhesive transfer occurred on the bare blades, causing the bare blade to suffer excessive wear. While the Ni/cBN abrasive coating exhibited superior wear resistance and cutting performance. The cBN grits pullout, the abrasion of Ni matrix and transfer of seal coating to the cBN grits were the main wear mechanism of the Ni/cBN abrasive coating. Additionally, it was found that the relationship between the incursion rate and high-speed rubbing behavior is quite different for the bare blade and Ni/cBN coating. The reason for the difference in wear behavior of bare blade and Ni/cBN coating at different incursion rates was discussed in detail. 展开更多

The development of a durable metallic coating on diverse substrates is both intriguing and challenging,particularly in the research of metal-conductive materials for applications such as batteries,soft electronics,and beyond.Herein,by learning from the pencil-writing process,a facile solid-ink rubbing technology(SIR-tech)is invented to address the above challenge.The solid-ink is exampled by rational combination of liquid metal and graphite particles.By harnessing the synergistic effects between rubbing and adhesion,controllable metallic skin is successfully formed onto metals,woods,ceramics,and plastics without limitation in size and shape.Moreover,outperforming pure liquid-metal coating,the composite metallic skin by SIR-tech is very robust due to the self-lamination of graphite nanoplate exfoliated by liquid-metal rubbing.The critical factors controlling the structures-properties of the composite metallic skin have been systematically investigated as well.For applications,the SIR-tech is demonstrated to fabricate high-performance composite current collectors for next-generation batteries without traditional metal foils.Meanwhile,advanced skin-electrodes are further demonstrated for stable triboelectricity generation even under temperature fluctuation from-196 to 120℃.This facile and highly-flexible SIR-tech may work as a powerful platform for the studies on functional coatings by liquid metals and beyond. 展开更多

Based on load identification in time domain, a new method combined with transfer matrix method is applied in rubbing rotor bearing system to estimate the force on rubbing rotor for the first time. Avoiding calculating the modal parameters, the outside excitation force on multi point and the distribute of internal forces on rubbing rotor bearing system can be identified by this way at the same time. Finally, the simulation is made on partial lateral rubbing rotor bearing system. For the faulty of rotor/stator rub, the point where rubbing occurs and the change of impact forces can be detected by this method in order to improve the accuracy of rotor/stator rub faulty diagnosis. 展开更多

According to the background of the rub impact faults of aerial engines and industrial turbines, two kinds of test rigs, on the base of the dynamics model, are established to study the rub impact faults between rotor and stator with free supports. The orbit of the vibration of rotor displacement is respectively examined on the four impact conditions, which are the normal state with no impact, the early sharp impact statement, the semi sharp impact statement and the terminal blunt impact statement. The route to chaos, appearing with the early sharp impact, is observed for the first time. By analyzing the frequency domain characteristics of the experimental data on four impact conditions, it is testified that the appearance of the sub harmonic vibrations of the order 1/3 and 1/4 is the effective evidence to judge whether or not the blade has initial light rub impact. When there are only the harmonic vibrations of the order of 1/1 and 1/2, the blade stator rub impact faults have become very serious. 展开更多

Keratoconus is a non-inflammatory disorder which is gradual in development;corneal thinning and ectatic protrusion characterizes it. Keratoconus prevalence varies between different regions depending on several factors that affecting its prevalence. There are risk factors for developing keratoconus such as demographic and environmental factors. It was suggested that eye rubbing was associated with the development of keratoconus. The main aim of this review was to summarize the literature data about keratoconus and to identify the role of eyerubbing in the aetiology of the disease. A number of 24 articles was reviewed through the Pub Med, Google Scholar and Research Gates. There are many keywords used such as keratoconus, aetiology of keratoconus, eye rubbing, keratoconus prevalence, keratoconus and eye rubbing correlation. We concluded that eye rubbing causes the thinning of keratocyte, and the degree of effect of eye rubbing depends on the period and force of performing eye rubbing. It is recommended to avoid eye rubbing to prevent keratoconus, this can be achieved by avoiding itching and treating dryness of the eye and avoiding wearing eye lenses. 展开更多

The effect of La on the performance of a supported RuB amorphous alloy catalyst for benzene selective hydrogenation was studied by means of activity and selectivity tests, such as HRTEM, SAED, XPS, and XRD. The results show that the addition of La to RuB amorphous alloy catalyst can evidently increase the activity and improve the thermal stability of RuB amorphous alloy to refrain its crystallization. The promoting effect of La on the activity of RuB amorphous alloy catalyst is because of the high dispersion of the active components. 展开更多

采用水热法合成RUB-13分子筛,探讨了有机模板剂(OSDA)、硅源、晶化温度和水硅比等制备条件对RUB-13分子筛晶体结构的影响,考察了RUB-13分子筛在甲醇制烯烃(MTO)反应中的催化性能。结果表明,采用1,2,2,6,6-五甲基哌啶(PMP)为有机模板剂... 采用水热法合成RUB-13分子筛,探讨了有机模板剂(OSDA)、硅源、晶化温度和水硅比等制备条件对RUB-13分子筛晶体结构的影响,考察了RUB-13分子筛在甲醇制烯烃(MTO)反应中的催化性能。结果表明,采用1,2,2,6,6-五甲基哌啶(PMP)为有机模板剂、白炭黑为硅源,在晶化温度为170℃的条件下,选择H2O/Si比为100和80时可分别合成出高纯度的低硅铝比(Si/Al=100)和高硅铝比(Si/Al=200)的RUB-13分子筛晶体,且晶粒呈棒状形貌。H-Al-B-RUB-13(Si/Al=200)分子筛用于催化甲醇制烯烃反应时,在400℃下表现出高的低碳烯烃选择性(C=2-5选择性达97.8%,丙烯选择性为54.5%),优于传统的H-SAPO-34和H-ZSM-5分子筛催化剂。 展开更多
