The development of interest can improve the efficiency and quality of students’learning activities.Previous research mainly explored professional interest,but less on subject interest.This study designed and validated a subject interest questionnaire for primary school students to assess their potential to predict academic performance and offer reference for educational assessment and counseling.A sample of 545 students from two primary schools in Beijing was selected.The questionnaire consisted of 138 questions involving eight major courses,such as Chinese,mathematics and English.Through analysis,questions with good discrimination and social desirability were screened out,and nine questions of each sub-scale were finally retained.According to the result,the reliability and validity of the questionnaire reached an acceptable level.Further analysis of exploratory and confirmatory factors revealed that the subject interest can be summarized into two dimensions:“humanities-related factor”and“mathematics-related factor”.The two dimensions are consistent with the“human and material dimensions”proposed by ACT.As a preliminary exploration,this study lays a foundation for further research on the relationship between subject interest and basic interest and provides a practical evaluation tool for primary education. 展开更多

In this work, the Holland's methodology is modified for the categorization of human personalities by including queries (in the corresponding questionnaire that serves as an evaluation tool) investigating its responders' attitude as regards his/her willingness to be professionally engaged with the natural or/and anthropogenic environment. The population used as representative sample consisted of 250 students following courses at high school and university level. The quantitative methods used were descriptive statistics, parametric and non-parametric statistics hypothesis (on causal relations) testing, categorical semantics, ontological mapping fuzzy sets and interval algebra. The results obtained showed relative significant internal consistency at macro-level for almost half of the interviewees, but the dependence of answers to environmental queries on the rest responds to the rest queries was insignificant, indicating lack of specific knowledge and clarification of the corresponding concepts at micro-level. 展开更多

Cultural adaptation of the Michigan Hand Outcomes Questionnaire in patients with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome:A Turkish version study 被引量:1

Objective: Cultural adaptations of the questionnaires are important for easy use. We aimed to assess the reliability and validity of the Turkish Version of the Michigan Hand Outcomes Questionnaire in patients with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. Methods: To assess test-retest reliability, the Turkish “Michigan Hand Outcomes Questionnaire” and “Disabilities of Arm, Shoulder and Hand”questionnaires were answered by patients and controls and were repeated a week later. For testing internal consistency, the Cronbach's alpha test was used. For testing validity, correlations between the subscales of the“Michigan Hand Outcomes Questionnaire” and “Disabilities of Arm, Shoulder and Hand” questionnaire were measured in patient groups. One hundred patients with idiopathic Carpal Tunnel Syndrome and 50 healthy participants were included in the study. Results: In test-retest reliability, intraclass correlations of the subscales of the“Michigan Hand Outcomes Questionnaire”were high. Cronbach's alphas were found to be high in all subscales. There was no significant correlation between asthetics and pain scales. We found significant differences between patients and controls regarding all subscales of the“Michigan Hand Outcomes Questionnaire”. Correlations between subscales of the “Michigan Hand Outcomes Questionnaire” and “Disabilities of Arm, Shoulder and Hand”questionnaire were significant. We found no difference between one-hand effected and two-hand effected patients, in terms of the “Michigan Hand Outcomes Questionnaire”, “Disabilities of Arm, Shoulder and Hand” questionnaire Function/Symptom and Work average scores. Conclusion: This study showed that the Turkish version of the“Michigan Hand Outcomes Questionnaire”is reliable and valid and can be used in Turkish patients with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome because it is comprehensible and practicable. Purpose Social-emotional ability is an important human basis for the sustainable development of society.At present,researchers are focusing on the improvement of primary and secondary school students’social-emotional ability.This study explores the current situation of college students’social-emotional ability.Design/Approach/Methods Based on the existing questionnaires on social-emotional ability in primary and secondary schools,we examined the universality of social-emotional ability along with the unique development of college students and developed a questionnaire on social-emotional ability for college students.Research was conducted on students in 31 provinces,municipalities,and autonomous regions(excluding Hong Kong SAR,Macao SAR,and Chinese Taiwan)in China,and 4,720 valid questionnaires were obtained.Findings It was found that the college students’social emotions are at the upper-middle level,showing a“rising wave,positive”state,but their tenacity needs to be further improved.Education level,gender,type of university,origin,family affiliation,and teacher–student relationships significantly affect college students’social-emotional ability.Originality/Value This study contributed a social-emotional questionnaire designed for Chinese local discourse,and identified the current social-emotional ability of college students in China. 展开更多

The party-building work for college students is of great significance,as it is a crucial component of higher education party building,concerning the cultivation of socialist builders and successors,and occupies a key position in the development of the Party.However,current research on its quality evaluation is insufficient.This study focuses on this issue and aims to construct a scientifically effective evaluation system.By reviewing related literature,the concepts and research status of party building in colleges are clarified,revealing deficiencies in existing evaluation systems regarding indicator selection,evaluation methods,and dynamic adaptability.The research design constructs an evaluation system framework from four dimensions:organizational work of party building,activity implementation,party member cultivation,and the role exertion of party members.The Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP)is applied to determine indicator weights,with samples selected based on the principles of diversity and representativeness.Questionnaires are distributed through various channels,and multiple statistical analysis methods are employed to validate the system.The results show clear weight distributions for each dimension,with satisfactory outcomes from confirmatory factor analysis and regression analysis.However,the system still faces issues such as the operability of indicators needing improvement,unreasonable weight distribution,and insufficient consideration of dynamics and innovation.Future research can further advance by strengthening dynamic update mechanisms,applying emerging technologies,and enhancing inter-university cooperation. 展开更多

This study uses paradata and survey data from the China Family Dynamic Survey to analyze the issue of response time in a questionnaire survey.The survey questions were classified into three levels and we compared the inter-group differences of response time between four kinds of questions which included information inquiries,logical calculations,intimate information and logical judgments.We used OLS method to perform a regression analysis to identify the impediments to response time and discussed the roles played by the survey locale,and the characteristics of interviewees and those of interviewers.The major impediments that prolonged response time were factors that impeded comprehension of the survey.The impediments included the difficulties interviewees had understanding questions,questions that did not take into account the different cultural backgrounds of interviewees,the complexity of questionnaires,and the performance of interviewers.Finally,this paper puts forward some suggestions for questionnaire design and investigation processes to reduce impediments to comprehension and improve the ability of interviewers. 展开更多
