To explore the effect of strain rate ε on the high temperature deformation characteristics of ultrafine-grained materials, the deformation and damage features as well as microstructures of ECAP-treated pure Al at different temperatures T and strain ratesε were systematically studied through compression tests and microscopic observations. The increase in ε eliminates strain softening at T≤473 K, and largely enhances the yield strength and flow stress at 473?573 K. The shear deformation dominates the plastic deformation of ECAP-treated Al. Many cracks along shear bands (SBs) are formed at T≥473 K and secondary SBs basically disappear at 1×10?3 s?1; however, at 1×10?2 s?1, cracks are only observed at temperature below 473 K, and secondary SBs become clearer at T≥473 K. The microstructures of ECAP-treated Al mainly consist of sub-grains (SGs). The increase in ε inhibits the SG growth, thus leading to the increases both in yield strength and flow stress at high temperatures. 展开更多

Corrosion behavior of ultra-fine grained(UFG) industrial Al fabricated by equal channel angular pressing(ECAP) for 16 pass times was investigated by potentiodynamic polarization test,potentiostatic polarization test,electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS) measurement,immersion test and surface analyses (OM and SEM). The microstructures including grain size,grain boundaries and dislocations were also observed by TEM. The results show that the UFG industrial pure Al has more positive pitting potential,less corrosion current density and five times larger passive film resistance compared with the coarse grained(CG) one. It was found that the increased pitting resistance is profited from the more stable passive film kept in the Cl-aggressive solution due to more grain boundaries,larger fraction of non-equilibrium grain boundaries and residual stress of the UFG industrial pure Al. 展开更多

To explore the specimen size effect of mechanical behavior of ultrafine-grained(UFG)materials with different structures,UFG Al sheets processed by equal channel angular pressing(ECAP)were selected as target materials and the dependency of tensile behavior on sheet thickness(t)was systematically investigated.The strength and ductility of ECAPed UFG Al sheets were improved synchronously as t increased from 0.2 to 0.7 mm,and then no apparent change occurred when t reached to 0.7 and 1.0 mm.The corresponding microstructure evolved from dislocation networks in equiaxed grains into the walls and subgrains and finally into the dominated cells in elongated grains or subgrains.Meanwhile,dense shear lines(SLs)and shear bands(SBs)were clearly observed and microvoids and cracks were initiated along SBs with the increase of t.These observations indicated that the plastic deformation of UFG Al sheets was jointly controlled by shear banding,dislocation sliding,and grain-boundary sliding.Furthermore,the propagation of SBs became difficult as t increased.Finally,the obtained results were discussed and compared with those of annealed UFG Al and UFG Cu. 展开更多

Pulsed magneto-oscillation (PMO) as a new electromagnetic technology to generate the grain refinement in metals and alloys was significantly developed in recent years. The influence of electromagnetic parameters on the grain size reduction in pure AI was investigated under the application of PMO with a constant inputting power. The experimental results show that the grain refinement degree could be improved with the increase in the current intensity in the case of the identical power. Moreover, through analysing the electromagnetic force and resistance force applied on the nucleus, a criterion of the nucleus detached from the mould wall was constructed. Based on the criterion, the detachment of nuclei with finer radius could cause better effect of the grain refinement, when applying a higher current peak. The movement of the detached grains was considered by analysing the influence of electromagnetic force and forced flow. 展开更多

Al 1060/pure iron clad materials were produced by vacuum roll bonding. The effects of preheating temperature, vacuum roll reduction and initial thickness of the A11060 sheet on the metal interface and bonding strength were investigated. The interfacial microstructure was investigated and the mechanical properties of the joint were evaluated by shear testing. The bonding strength of the clad materials was generally enhanced by increasing the total reduction or preheating temperature, which caused the metal interface to flatten. No obvious reaction or diffusion layer was observed at the interface between Al 1060 and pure iron. The bonding strength increased with decreasing the initial thickness of the Al 1060 sheets. The Al 1060/pure iron clad materials were soldered with Zn-Al alloy by using an ultrasonic-assisted method. Strong bonding of the Al 1060 layer and Al 7N01 was realized without obvious Al 1060 dissolution or effect on the initial interface of Al 1060/pure iron clad materials by soldering at relatively low temperature. 展开更多

The Ni_3B phase was formed when boron (0.5 at. pct B) was added to the intermetallic of sto- ichiometric and off-stoichiometric (Ni-24 at. pct Al) compounds. In the alloy of stoichiometric composition the particles of Ni_3B phase has the size around 0.1μm and is located on the grain boundary of the main phase. The decreasing of concentrations of Al in the ofF-stoichiometric alloy leads to increase in the degree of the long-range order parameter, increasing the concen- trations of boron in the solid solution and decreasing its localization on the grain boundary. Microalloying of boron leads to increasing in the fraction of grain monodomains with disloca- tions up to 0.7 in the alloy of the off-stoichiometric composition and up to 1 in the alloy of the stoichiometric composition. It was established the correlation between the degree of the concentration inhomogeneity, average density of the dislocations and the average long range-order parameter. 展开更多

Every type of grains has its own domain and dislocation structure. There are mono- and polydomains with and without dislocations. The grains of the main phase of monoand polydomains without dislocations and polydomains with dislocations were formed by diffusion in the solid phase. In these conditions NiAl3 phase is located on the grain boundary of the main phase. The Ni2Al3 phase is located at the triple joints of the main phase. 展开更多

采用自蔓延高温合成 (SHS)技术直接合成了Al 80 %TiC和Al 5 0 %TiC晶粒细化剂。研究了这两种细化剂的相组成、结构及对工业纯铝的晶粒细化效果 ,并与商用Al 5Ti 1B细化剂进行了对比。结果表明 :合成的细化剂由TiC和α (Al)两相组成 ,Ti... 采用自蔓延高温合成 (SHS)技术直接合成了Al 80 %TiC和Al 5 0 %TiC晶粒细化剂。研究了这两种细化剂的相组成、结构及对工业纯铝的晶粒细化效果 ,并与商用Al 5Ti 1B细化剂进行了对比。结果表明 :合成的细化剂由TiC和α (Al)两相组成 ,TiC粒子的尺寸和分布对细化剂的晶粒细化效果有显著影响。Al 80 %TiC细化剂中TiC粒子尺寸较大 (2~ 5 μm)且呈聚集成团分布 ,其晶粒细化效果较差。合成的Al 5 0 %TiC细化剂的晶粒细化效果略优于Al 5Ti 1B细化剂。加入 0 .1%的该细化剂就能使凝固试样的结构由粗大的柱状晶转变成细小的等轴晶 (平均晶粒尺寸 12 0 μm) ,且这种晶粒细化效果可保持 90min。SEM和TEM分析显示 ,Al 5 0 %TiC细化剂中原位合成的TiC粒子具有亚微米尺寸 (0 .4~ 0 .9μm) ,且在高温铝液中具有较强的稳定性 。 展开更多

目的使Al/NiCr复合涂层之间发生改性反应,并原位生成具有一定抗氧化性能的Ni-Al金属间化合物防护涂层。方法利用电弧喷涂结合等离子喷涂的工艺方法在工业纯钛表面制备了Al/Ni Cr组合涂层,对喷涂态Al/NiCr/Ti试件于炉中进行700℃加热改... 目的使Al/NiCr复合涂层之间发生改性反应,并原位生成具有一定抗氧化性能的Ni-Al金属间化合物防护涂层。方法利用电弧喷涂结合等离子喷涂的工艺方法在工业纯钛表面制备了Al/Ni Cr组合涂层,对喷涂态Al/NiCr/Ti试件于炉中进行700℃加热改性处理,研究了加热改性处理前后涂层的微观组织形貌及Ni-Al金属间化合物的形成机理。此外,还对经加热和打磨处理后的Al/Ni Cr/Ti试件及无防护涂层的Ti块进行了800℃/100h的高温氧化试验。结果Ti基体表面Al/NiCr涂层经700℃炉中加热改性处理后,Al、NiCr涂层之间发生改性反应,并原位生成了固溶有一定Cr元素的Ni2Al3及Ni Al金属间化合物。另外,在整个Al、NiCr扩散反应区中,弥散分布有Al液和Cr2O3、NiO组成的混合物组织。但是生成的Ni2Al3相金属间化合物有熔化现象发生,只有高熔点的Ni Al金属间化合物能够稳定存在。结论经改性反应所得的Ni Al金属间化合物层对Ti基体起到了较好的高温防护作用。 展开更多
