BACKGROUND Parkinson’s disease(PD)is commonly accompanied by neuropsychiatric symptoms, such as anxiety and depression, which can significantly impair patients’cognitive function, social engagement, and quality of life.Psychological resilience has been identified as a critical factor influencing the severity of these emotional disturbances.AIM To explore the relationship between anxiety-depression status and psychological resilience in patients with PD and to identify associated risk factors.METHODS A total of 188 consecutive patients with PD treated at our institution between January 2023 and December 2024 were enrolled.Anxiety was assessed using the Beck Anxiety Inventory(BAI),depressive symptoms were measured with the Geriatric Depression scale(GDS),and psychological resilience was evaluated using the Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale(CD-RISC).Pearson correlation analysis was conducted to examine the relationships among these variables.Furthermore, clinical and sociodemographic characteristics-including gender, age, disease duration, disease severity, comorbidity burden, marital status, gross monthly household income, and educational attainment-were analyzed using univariate analysis and multivariate binary logistic regression to identify the factors influencing psychological resilience.RESULTS The mean BAI score was 22.05±10.52(indicative of moderate anxiety),the mean GDS score was 15.81±5.49(mild depression),and the mean CD-RISC score was 51.03±9.32(moderate resilience).Correlational analysis revealed an inverse relationship between psychological resilience and both anxiety and depression scores, whereas anxiety and depression were positively correlated.Univariate analysis identified disease duration, disease severity, comorbidity burden, gross monthly household income, educational attainment,BAI scores, and GDS scores as variables significantly associated with psychological resilience.Multivariate regression analysis showed that advanced disease stage,a high comorbidity burden, lower gross monthly household income, lower educational attainment, and elevated anxiety and depression scores were independent predictors of reduced psychological resilience.CONCLUSION The findings highlight the prevalence of anxiety and depression among patients with PD and the presence of moderate psychological resilience.Patients with advanced disease stages, multiple comorbidities, lower socioeconomic status, limited education, and higher anxiety and depression scores are particularly vulnerable to diminished psychological resilience. 展开更多

Objectives:Character strengths use has been studied in WEIRD(Western,Educated,Industrialized,Rich, and Democratic)societies, where it is related to happiness, resilience, and reduced distress. However, this rela-tionship in harsh living conditions remains unstudied. This study aims to examine the relationship between character strengths use and psychological well-being among slum dwellers in the Philippines, where harsh living conditions can create severe psychological challenges. Methods:A correlational analysis was conducted in a slum community in Cavite City,Philippines, with 120 participants completing self-report questionnaires, including the Strengths Use Scale(SUS),Flourishing Scale(FS),and Kessler Psychological Distress Scale(K10).Correlation and regression analyses examined whether strengths use predicts psychological well-being while controlling for psychological distress and demographic factors such as family monthly income. Results:A significant positive correlation was found between strengths use and psychological well-being(r=0.39,p<0.01),and hierarchical linear regression analysis confirmed that SUS significantly predicted FS(β=0.37,95%CI=[0.08,0.22]).Despite experiencing high levels of psychological distress(Mean=27.22,SD=6.78),participants demonstrated relatively higher FS scores compared to more privileged Filipino student samples. These findings suggest that character strengths use act as psychological resources even in challenging environments. Conclusions:The study supports the Dual-Factor Model of Mental Health, showing that well-being and ill-being can coexist.Strengths use may help slum dwellers cope with ongoing challenges, highlighting the potential of strengths-based interventions to foster resilience and well-being in high-adversity urban slum settings.Future research should explore how family and cultural values support well-being in difficult environments. 展开更多

This review explored the application and effectiveness of and research gaps in integrative psychological support in patients undergoing cardiac surgery during the perioperative period. These patients often encounter psychological issues such as anxiety and depression, which affect their postoperative recovery and quality of life.Previous research indicated that preoperative psychological assessments and interventions significantly enhance patients’psychological states and posto-perative outcomes.Interventions, including preoperative education,mindfulness-based stress reduction, and cognitive training, have proven effective in reducing the incidence of postoperative delirium and anxiety.Intraoperative environment optimization(e.g.,music therapy)and postoperative psychological support(e.g.,family visits and psychological interventions in intensive care unit psychological interventions)positively influence patient recovery.Furthermore,theory-based nursing interventions and digital health tools(e.g.,remote monitoring applica-tions)offer new directions for psychological support.However,challenges,inclu-ding fragmented psychological support, insufficient cross-stage integration, and inadequate training, remain in current nursing practices.Future research should focus on developing standardized psychological support pathways, enhancing multidisciplinary collaboration, and verifying the long-term effects of digital the-rapeutics. 展开更多

This study systematically analyzes the influence mechanism of psychological factors on the competition performance of badminton athletes in capital universities through the recent actual participation of university teams in college badminton matches and combined with high-quality literature. The study finds that anxiety,self-efficacy,and factors from audiences and referees are the main influencing variables, and significant gender differences exist.Based on the empirical research results,a psychological intervention program combining mindfulness training, virtual reality technology, and biofeedback training is proposed to provide a scientific basis for psychological training of college badminton athletes. 展开更多

Thyroid cancer is a common endocrine malignancy with a rising incidence.Pa-tients often suffer from mental pain due to concerns about recurrence,treatment-related side-effect,and body image changes.Demographic factors like age, gender, physiological factors such as somatic symptoms and disease stage,co-gnitive-regulatory factors including negative and positive thinking, and social factors like work, economy, education level, and social support all influence their mental state.Existing interventions, including nursing, psychological, and tra-ditional Chinese medicine-based methods, have some benefits but face limitations like short-term effectiveness and lack of standardization.Future research should focus on creating better-defined,long-term,and widely applicable intervention programs and explore positive psychology-based approaches to improve patients'mental well-being and quality of life. 展开更多
