Background:Fundamental internal factors like self-construal and its influence on problematic online game use(POGU)remain underexplored.Hence,this study aims to investigate the effects of independent and interdependent...Background:Fundamental internal factors like self-construal and its influence on problematic online game use(POGU)remain underexplored.Hence,this study aims to investigate the effects of independent and interdependent self-construal on POGU,with the mediation of basic psychological needs satisfaction.Methods:The study surveyed 418 Chinese junior high school students(50.24%male;Meanage=12.68,SD=0.65),assessing their levels of self-construal,basic psychological needs satisfaction,and POGU.Aparallelmediationmodelwas tested.Results:The findings showed that autonomy and competence needs satisfaction fully mediated the negative impact of independent self-construal on POGU(B=−0.052,p<0.05;B=−0.094,p<0.01,respectively),while interdependent self-construal and relatedness needs satisfaction did not have a significant effect on POGU(B=0.005,p=0.758).Additionally,while independent self-construal positively correlated with the satisfaction of all three psychological needs,interdependent self-construal only positively associated with relatedness need satisfaction(B=0.152,p<0.001).Conclusions:The study demonstrates that independent self-construal serves as a protective factor against POGU,mediated by autonomy and competence needs satisfaction,while the effects of interdependent self-construal are more complex.These insights highlight the need for tailored interventions that promote adaptive self-construal and psychological needs satisfaction among Chinese adolescents to prevent POGU.展开更多
Background:Despite self-determination theory’s prominence,few studies examine BPN in China’s ethnic frontier regions.Therefore,this study investigates and analyzes the current situation of community residents with d...Background:Despite self-determination theory’s prominence,few studies examine BPN in China’s ethnic frontier regions.Therefore,this study investigates and analyzes the current situation of community residents with different demographic characteristics in Yanbian in the three basic psychological needs of competency needs,autonomy needs and attribution needs,so as to provide reference for the construction of community service in Yanbian area.Methods:A survey was conducted among 234 residents in four communities in Yanbian from September to October 2024.The equal probability random sampling method was used to collect data by using a general information questionnaire and basic psychological demand scale,and SPSS 28.0 was used for analysis.Through single factor analysis,Pearson correlation analysis and multiple linear regression analysis,the influencing factors and correlation of basic psychological needs of community residents in Yanbian area were discussed.Results:The basic psychological needs of residents were above the middle level;there is a significant positive correlation between economic status and the three dimensions of basic psychological needs(P<0.001).There is a significant positive correlation between the three dimensions of competence demand(β=2.028,P<0.001),autonomy demand(β=2.022,P<0.001),and attribution demand(β=2.693,P<0.001).Conclusion:The satisfaction degree of basic psychological needs of community residents in Yanbian is significantly affected by economic situation,which urges nurses to advocate for economic empowerment programs in community health and provides an empirical basis for the construction of a psychological service system in this area.At the same time,it is proposed that the region can respond by improving social support and improving employment results.展开更多

The study aimed to examine the indirect factors underlying the association between work–family conflict and posttraumatic stress symptoms(PTSS)in college teachers during the COVID-19 pandemic.Three potential indirect...The study aimed to examine the indirect factors underlying the association between work–family conflict and posttraumatic stress symptoms(PTSS)in college teachers during the COVID-19 pandemic.Three potential indirect factors were examined:perceived stress,basic psychological needs,and rumination.A total of 274 college teachers were recruited.All participants completed an electronic questionnaire that assessed their exposure to the pandemic,work–family conflict,perceived stress,basic psychological needs,rumination,and PTSS.The results showed that after controlling for pandemic exposure,gender,and age,work–family conflict was associated with PTSS via perceived stress alone,rumination alone,a path from perceived stress to basic psychological needs,and a path from perceived stress to rumination.These results indicate that work–family conflict is positively associated with PTSS indirectly via perceived stress,rumination,and basic psychological needs during the COVID-19 pandemic.These three mediators may completely explain the relation of work–family conflict to PTSS.展开更多

文摘This study presents an in-depth examination of the impact of educational gamification on middle school students’learning motivation through a mixed-methods approach.The integration of quantitative survey data and qualitative interviews and observations revealed that gamification significantly enhances intrinsic motivation by increasing interest and engagement in a learning environment.The study also found that gamification indirectly boosts extrinsic motivation through the augmentation of social interaction and learning engagement.Structural equation modeling underscored the direct and indirect effects of gamification on learning motivation.The findings suggest that educators should integrate gamification elements into their teaching designs,focus on fulfilling students’psychological needs for autonomy,competence,and relatedness,and leverage social interactions to foster motivation.The study’s contributions to the educational field include empirical evidence of gamification’s impact and a multidimensional perspective that strengthens the depth of understanding in the application of gamification.However,the study acknowledges limitations such as potential biases and a non-representative sample,calling for future research to address these issues through broader and longitudinal studies.

文摘The study aimed to examine the indirect factors underlying the association between work–family conflict and posttraumatic stress symptoms(PTSS)in college teachers during the COVID-19 pandemic.Three potential indirect factors were examined:perceived stress,basic psychological needs,and rumination.A total of 274 college teachers were recruited.All participants completed an electronic questionnaire that assessed their exposure to the pandemic,work–family conflict,perceived stress,basic psychological needs,rumination,and PTSS.The results showed that after controlling for pandemic exposure,gender,and age,work–family conflict was associated with PTSS via perceived stress alone,rumination alone,a path from perceived stress to basic psychological needs,and a path from perceived stress to rumination.These results indicate that work–family conflict is positively associated with PTSS indirectly via perceived stress,rumination,and basic psychological needs during the COVID-19 pandemic.These three mediators may completely explain the relation of work–family conflict to PTSS.
