文摘Background:Submarine personnel often experience insomnia and reduced psychological resilience due to extended deployments in confined,high-stress environments.Effective non-pharmacological interventions are needed to improve sleep quality and resilience in this population. This study aimed to investigate the effect of virtual reality(VR)combined with forest therapy interventions on psychological resilience and sleep quality among submarine personnel with insomnia symptoms. Methods:Using convenience sampling,92 submarine personnel with insomnia symptoms undergoing recuperation at a PLA sanatorium between July 2023 and May 2025 were randomly allocated to experimental and control groups(n=46 each). The control group received forest therapy intervention, while the intervention group received combined VR and forest therapy interventions.Pre-and post-intervention assessments were conducted using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI)and Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale(CD-RISC).Results:There is no significant differences between two groups before the intervention on sleep or psychological resilience. Both groups showed significant pre-to post-intervention improvements in sleep and resilience;however,mixed-ANOVA results showed that the intervention(VR+forest therapy)group achieved significantly better outcomes than the control group at post-intervention after Bonferroni correction, including lower PSQI total and key component scores(subjective sleep quality, sleep efficiency, daytime dysfunction)and higher CD-RISC resilience scores. Conclusions:The integration of virtual reality and forest therapy effectively improved sleep quality and psychological resilience among submarine personnel with insomnia symptoms. This combined intervention shows promise as a non-pharmacological approach in military healthcare settings;however, further studies are needed to validate and generalize these findings.
文摘Objective:Intergenerational ambivalence is the conflicts or differences in opinion occurring between 2 or more generations.Advanced technology, busy lifestyles, working parents, etc.,have widened the area of ambivalence between the mother and young adult. Therefore, the present study aimed to assess the intergenerational ambivalence and psychological well-being of mothers and young adults. Methods:A descriptive correlational survey was done among 150 participants(75 mothers and 75 young adults)of the Shirva panchayat area of Udupi taluk,Karnataka,India.Participants were selected based on the study inclusion criteria.Data were obtained using the demographic pro forma, followed by the Intergenerational Ambivalence Scale and Ryff Psychological Wellbeing Scale. Results:Based on the objectives and hypotheses of the study, the data analysis was done with SPSS version 20(IBM Corporation,Armonk,New York,United States). The mean age of mothers was 46.20 years, and that of young adults was 21.49 years. Both mothers and young adults have moderate levels of intergenerational ambivalence with scores of 70.7% and 73.3%,respectively.The psychological well-being of 57.3% of mothers was at a moderate level.A significant relationship was found between intergenerational ambivalence and psychological well-being(ρ=-0.035,P=0.0767).Conclusions:The present study concluded that as the intergenerational ambivalence of mothers increases, their psychological wellbeing decreases.
文摘Mindfulness would enhance university students’emotional well-being and study engagement. However, the role of affect(positive and negative emotions)and psychological resources(psychological capital)linking mindfulness to study engagement remain underexplored. This cross-sectional study surveyed 688 Chinese university students(females=413,mean age=20.3,SD=0.83),using validated self-report measures of mindfulness, positive and negative emotions, psychological capital, and study engagement.Structural equation modeling and bias-corrected bootstrap analyses(5000 resamples)revealed that mindfulness directly enhanced positive emotions, psychological capital, and study engagement, while reducing negative emotions.Positive emotions partially mediated the positive effect of mindfulness on psychological capital and study engagement.Negative emotions partially and negatively mediated only the mindfulness-psychological capital link.Psychological capital independently mediated the mindfulness-engagement relationship, and two sequential mediation pathways emerged:(a)mindfulness→positive emotions→psychological capital→higher study engagement and(b)mindfulness→reduced negative emotions→psychological capital→higher study engagement.Consistent with broaden-and-build(B&B)theory and Conservation of Resources(COR)theory, these findings suggest that mindfulness fosters study engagement primarily by promoting positive emotional experiences and strengthening psychological capital.By implication, university student support programs should employ mindfulness-based interventions to cultivate emotional and psychological resources for higher students’engagement and overall well-being.
文摘BACKGROUND Appropriate care for individuals who attempt suicide and are admitted to the emergency department(ED)can prevent future suicidal behavior. It is vital to understand their sociodemographic characteristics and the effects of targeted psychological care.AIM To analyze sociodemographic characteristics of suicide attempters treated in the ED and evaluate the efficacy of psychological care.METHODS Data from 239 suicide attempters treated in the ED of the Central Hospital of Enshi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture(Hubei Province,China)between January 2021 and February 2025 were divided into 2:Control(n=108)and psychological care(n=131).The demographic characteristics and effects of the psychological care were analyzed.RESULTS The mean(±SD)age of the 239 patients[114 male(47.7%),125 female(52.3%)]was 26.25±9.3 years,of whom 122(45.2%)were single,117(48.9%)were married, and 106(44.4%)had secondary education.Thirty-eight(15.9%)patients had suicidal intent, with a mean of 1.26±0.59 suicide attempts each.Twenty-two(9.21%)patients had a family history of suicide, while 8(3.34%)had a family history of suicide attempt(s).Before intervention, mean Suicidal Intent Scale scores in the psychological nursing and control groups were 21.57±5.28 and 19.86±5.92,respectively(P>0.05).After 1 month of nursing intervention, the respective scores were 10.09±1.11 and 16.48±0.87(P<0.001);and the re-suicide rates were 11.45%(15/131)and 24.07%(26/108)(P<0.001).CONCLUSION Psychological care significantly reduces suicide risk;EDs should provide comprehensive mental health care.
文摘Background:Amid the global rise in adolescent sedentary behavior and psychological distress, extant research has largely focused on variable-level associations, neglecting symptom-level interactions. This study applies network analysis, aims to delineate the interconnections among sedentary time, social support, social exclusion, and psychological distress in Chinese students, and to identify core and bridge symptoms to inform targeted interventions. Methods:This study employed a cross-sectional design to investigate the complex relationships among sedentary behavior, social support, social exclusion, and psychological distress among Chinese students. The research involved 459 high school and university students, using network analysis and mediation models to examine these relationships. Results:Network analysis revealed that the network had a density of 58.33%and an average edge weight of 0.11.In terms of centrality, stress had the highest expected influence(EI=1.135),acting as the core amplifier in the network.Sedentary behavior demonstrated the highest bridging expected influence, functioning as a critical bridge for cross-community transmission.Conversely, friend support showed the lowest bridging EI with a negative value, indicating its effectiveness in blocking cross-community diffusion and alleviating symptoms. Conclusion:With stress acting as the most influential“core engine”within the symptom network and sedentary behavior serving as the key“bridge”for cross-community transmission, interventions should first target stress to weaken the overall symptom cascade, followed by reducing sedentary behavior or enhancing friend support to disrupt cross-community pathways, thereby achieving a core-bridge dual blockade.
文摘This study examined the relationship between inclusive leadership and authenticity at work in racial minority groups of South Africa, taking into account the mediating role of psychological safety and the moderator role of gender,in that relationship. The sample was composed of 94 employees predominantly working in the professional services sector from South Africa(41.5%females;mean age=37.1),who self-identified as racial minority groups(coloured/black/Indian).Results indicate that inclusive leadership has no direct effect on authenticity at work;however, psychological safety fully mediates this relationship.Regarding the moderation effect of gender, results showed that males are more likely to diminish their self-alienation(a specific component of authenticity at work)when levels of psychological safety are higher. These results are consistent with Social Identity Theory, which posits that individuals derive part of their self-concept from their membership in social groups. In contexts where inclusive leadership fosters psychological safety, individuals(particularly men in traditionally male-dominated work environments)may feel a stronger sense of belonging and group identity, which in turn enhances their willingness to express their authentic selves and reduces self-alienation.Practical implications for companies include the need to improve leadership styles to foster more of an inclusive and psychologically safe culture, where minority groups can be authentic and flourish.

文摘Objectives:Psychological resilience is a critical resource for vocational high school students navigating social biases and fostering mental well-being.This six-month longitudinal study investigated the developmental trajectories of discrimination perception, vocational identity, and psychological resilience in this population. It further examined the longitudinal mediating role of vocational identity in the relationship between discrimination perception and psychological resilience. Methods:A total of 526 students from five vocational high schools in Guangdong,China, were assessed via convenience sampling at two time points:baseline(T1,September 2023)and six-month follow-up(T2,March 2024).Measures of discrimination perception, psychological resilience, and vocational identity were administered.Data were analyzed using a cross-lagged panel model to test for bidirectional relationships. Results:Over the six-month period, students showed significant decreases in discrimination perception and vocational identity, but a significant increase in psychological resilience. The cross-lagged model revealed significant bidirectional relationships:discrimination perception and psychological resilience negatively predicted each other over time(β=−0.124,p<0.01;β=−0.200,p<0.001),while psychological resilience and vocational identity positively predicted each other(β=0.084,p<0.05;β=0.076,p<0.05).The mediation analysis revealed a dual-pathway mechanism.T1 discrimination perception exerted both a significant direct negative effect on T2 psychological resilience(β=−0.332,p<0.001)and a significant indirect positive effect via T1 vocational identity(indirect effect=0.020,95%CI[0.001,0.046]).This confirms a partial mediating role, indicating that vocational identity functions as a compensatory mechanism, transforming the experience of discrimination perception into a potential source of psychological resilience. Conclusions:For vocational high school students, perception of discrimination directly undermines psychological resilience, but also indirectly fosters it through the positive development of vocational identity. These findings highlight vocational identity as a pivotal mechanism in the complex relationship between social adversity and mental resilience.

文摘Rheumatoid arthritis(RA)patients face significant psychological challenges alongside physical symptoms, necessitating a comprehensive understanding of how psychological vulnerability and adaptation patterns evolve throughout the disease course. This review examined 95 studies(2000-2025)from PubMed,Web of Science, and CNKI databases including longitudinal cohorts, randomized controlled trials, and mixed-methods research,to characterize the complex interplay between biological, psychological, and social factors affecting RA patients’mental health.Findings revealed three distinct vulnerability trajectories(45%persistently low,30%fluctuating improvement,25%persistently high)and four adaptation stages, with critical intervention periods occurring 3-6 months postdiagnosis and during disease flares.Multiple factors significantly influence psychological outcomes, including gender(females showing 1.8-fold increased risk),age(younger patients experiencing 42%higher vulnerability),pain intensity, inflammatory markers, and neuroendocrine dysregulation(48%showing cortisol rhythm disruption).Early psychological intervention(within 3 months of diagnosis)demonstrated robust benefits, reducing depression incidence by 42%with effects persisting 24-36 months, while different modalities showed complementary advantages:Cognitive behavioral therapy for depression(Cohen’s d=0.68),mindfulness for pain acceptance(38%improvement),and peer support for meaning reconstruction(25.6%increase).These findings underscore the importance of integrating routine psychological assessment into standard RA care, developing stage-appropriate interventions, and advancing research toward personalized biopsychosocial approaches that address the dynamic psychological dimensions of the disease.
文摘This mixed-methods study investigated how AI-enhanced English as a Foreign Language(EFL)learning environments influence students’psychological well-being through the mediating roles of motivation and language learning anxiety and the moderating role of trust.Participants were Chinese university students(N=310,62%female,mean age=18.9,SD=0.8),of whom 15 completed interviews to both add to and to clarify the evidence from the surveys.Structural equation modeling results revealed that AI use had significant indirect effects on well-being through increased motivation and reduced language learning anxiety.Trust in AI significantly moderated both paths, amplifying the motivational benefits and anxiety reduction associated with AI use.Thematic analysis supported these results, identifying three experiential themes:(1)motivational empowerment through personalization,(2)anxiety regulation through safe practice and feedback,and(3)trust as the emotional bridge between AI and well-being.The study extends AI psychology applications by empirically linking technology engagement with affective outcomes and underscores the need for human-centered and trust-enhancing design in AI-supported education. From these findings,we conclude that adaptive, transparent, and autonomy-supportive AI systems promote self-determined motivation, emotional safety, and overall psychological health among EFL learners.
文摘BACKGROUND Approximately 30%of patients with head and neck cancer experience adverse effects caused by anxiety and depression.Considering the high prevalence, implementing customized interventions to ease adverse emotional states is imperative.AIM To evaluate the efficacy of cognitive behavioral therapy(CBT)-based psychological interventions in improving the psychological well-being and quality of life(QoL)of patients with laryngeal carcinoma.METHODS This study enrolled 120 patients admitted from February 2022 to February 2024.The control group, comprising 50 participants, received standard supportive psychological care, while the research group, consisting 70 participants, underwent CBT-based interventions.Several clinical outcomes were systematically assessed that included postoperative recovery metrics(duration of tracheostomy and nasogastric tube dependence and length of hospitalization),psychological status(Self-Rating Anxiety Scale and Self-Rating Depression Scale),nutritional markers(serum albumin and hemoglobin levels),sleep quality(Self-Rating Scale of Sleep and Athens Insomnia Scale),and QoL(Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy-Head and Neck).RESULTS The results demonstrated that the research group experienced superior outcomes, with significantly reduced durations of tracheostomy and nasogastric tube dependence,as well as shorter hospital stays, compared with the control group.Additionally, the research group exhibited markedly lower post-intervention Self-Rating Anxiety Scale,Self-Rating Depression Scale,Self-Rating Scale of Sleep, and Athens Insomnia Scale scores, along with minimal but higher change in serum albumin and hemoglobin levels compared with the control group. All five domains of Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy-Head and Neck showed notable improvements in the research group, exceeding those observed in the control group.CONCLUSION CBT-based psychological support positively affects the mental well-being and QoL of patients with laryngeal carcinoma, highlighting its potential for broader clinical application.

文摘BACKGROUND Research examining the relationships among anxiety,depression,self-perceived burden(SPB),and psychological resilience(PR),along with the determinants of PR,in patients with chronic renal failure(CRF)receiving maintenance hemodia-lysis(MHD)is limited.AIM To investigate the correlation between anxiety, depression,SPB,and PR in pati-ents with CRF on MHD.METHODS This study included 225 patients with CRF on MHD who were admitted between June 2021 and June 2024.The anxiety level was evaluated using the Self-Rating Anxiety Scale(SAS);the depression status was assessed using the Self-Rating Depression Scale(SDS);the SPB was measured using the SPB Scale(SPBS);and the PR was determined using the Connor–Davidson Resilience Scale(CD-RISC).The correlations among the SAS,SDS,SPB,and CD-RISC were analyzed using Pearson’s correlation coefficients.Univariate and multivariate analyses were performed to identify the factors that influence the PR of patients with CRF on MHD.RESULTS The SAS,SDS,SPB,and CD-RISC scores of the 225 patients were 45.25±15.36,54.81±14.68,32.31±11.52,and 66.48±9.18,respectively.Significant negative correlations were observed between SAS,SDS,SPB,and CD-RISC.Furthermore,longer dialysis vintage(P=0.015),the absence of religious beliefs(P=0.020),lower monthly income(P=0.008),higher SAS score(P=0.013),and higher SDS score(P=0.006)were all independent factors that adversely affected the PR of patients with CRF on MHD.CONCLUSION Patients with CRF on MHD present with varying degrees of anxiety, depression, and SPB,all of which exhibit a significant negative correlation with their PR.Moreover, longer dialysis vintage, the absence of religious beliefs, lower monthly income, higher SAS score, and higher SDS score were factors that negatively affected the PR of patients with CRF on MHD.
文摘BACKGROUND Post-procedural psychological disorders are frequently overlooked in elderly patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI),despite their potential impact on long-term cardiovascular outcomes.AIM To evaluate the incidence and prognostic significance of post-PCI psychological disorders in elderly patients with heart failure, and to examine their association with medication adherence and major adverse cardiovascular events(MACE).METHODS This retrospective cohort study included 330 consecutive patients aged≥60 years with heart failure who underwent PCI between 2018 and 2021 at a single center, excluding those with prior psychiatric diagnoses.Psychological status within six months post-discharge was assessed using validated Chinese versions of the 9-item Patient Health Questionnaire and the 7-item Generalized Anxiety Disorder Scale, and medication adherence was measured by the 8-item Morisky Medication Adherence Scale(MMAS-8)scale.A subset of 145 patients with≥24 months of follow-up were analyzed for MACEs.Multivariate logistic regression and Kaplan-Meier survival analyses were performed.RESULTS Post-PCI psychological disorders were identified in 40%of patients, with anxiety(36%),depression(32%),and comorbid symptoms(22%)being most prevalent.Affected patients had lower MMAS-8 scores[median 5(IQR 4-6)vs 6(IQR 5-7),P=0.002]and a higher rate of low adherence(51.5%vs 30.3%,P<0.001).Among the 145 patients followed longitudinally,MACEs occurred in 17.9%,with 65.4%of events in those with psychological disorders.Psychological disorders(OR=2.66,95% CI:1.11-6.41,P=0.028)and low adherence(OR=2.77,95% CI:1.17-6.56,P=0.021)were independently associated with increased MACE risk.Kaplan-Meier analysis showed reduced MACE-free survival in patients with psychological disorders(HR=2.68,95%CI:1.25-5.73;log-rank P=0.008).CONCLUSION Post-PCI psychological disorders are common in elderly patients with heart failure and independently predict poorer adherence and worse cardiovascular outcomes.Routine psychological assessment and adherence interventions may improve prognosis in this vulnerable population.

文摘BACKGROUND Frailty has become a significant public health issue. The recent increase in the number of frail older adults has led to increased attention being paid to psycho-logical care services in communities. The social isolation of pre-frail older adults can impact their psychological distress.AIM To explore the mediating effect of health literacy between social isolation and psychological distress among communitydwelling older adults with pre-frailty.METHODS This descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted with 254 pre-frail older individuals aged 60 years and over.Social isolation, health literacy, and psycholo-gical distress were comprehensively measured using the Lubben Social Network Scale-6,12-item Short-Form Health Literacy Questionnaire, and the Kessler Psy-chological Distress Scale-10.Data were evaluated using the SPSS 27.0 package program and the PROCESS macro tool.Descriptive statistical analyses, correlation analyses, and bootstrap mediation tests were used to assess associations between the variables.RESULTS The results showed that social isolation had an effect on health literacy among pre-frail older adults(β=0.240,P<0.001),social isolation impact on psycho-logical distress pre-frail older adults(β=-0.415,P<0.001);health literacy was identified effect on psychological distress among pre-frail older persons(β=-0.307,P<0.001).Health literacy partially mediated the relationship between social isolation and psychological distress among community-dwelling older adults with pre-frailty,with a mediation effect of-0.074,accounting for 17.83%of the total effect.
文摘BACKGROUND Long-term chemotherapy for patients with gastric cancer(GC),facilitated by peripherally inserted central catheter(PICC)catheterization, reduces vascular damage and enhances drug delivery efficiency but carries risks of catheter-related complications.A combination of group psychological nursing and physical mo-vement care significantly mitigates the risk of venous thrombosis and improves psychological well-being,and enhances motor function, underscoring its clinical importance.AIM To assess group psychological and physical movement nursing in preventing venous thrombosis in patients with PICC GC.METHODS Sixty-five GC patients with PICC,admitted from January 2022 to January 2023,were randomly divided into two groups using the lottery method:A control group(n=35,routine nursing)and an observation group(n=30,routine nursing plus psychological nursing and physical movement nursing). Both groups re-ceived continuous care for 2 weeks.Pre-nursing and post-nursing data on psycho-logical state, physical function,chemotherapy-related thrombosis incidence, and cancer-related fatigue were analyzed using SPSS 26.0 and GraphPad Prism 8.0.RESULTS After nursing, both groups showed reduced Hamilton Anxiety Scale scores and increased General Perceived Self-Efficacy Scale scores, with the observation group performing better(P<0.05).The Functional Comprehensive Assessment score for the observation group after nursing was(65.42±2.35)points,lower than the control group’s(62.19±4.33)points(P<0.05).Although no significant difference was observed in the incidence of venous thrombosis between the two groups(χ2=0.815,P=0.367),the observation group had lower incidence. Both groups showed decreased Revised Piper Fatigue Scale scores, with the observation group scoring lower(P<0.05).CONCLUSION Group psychological and physical movement nursing for patients with PICC reduces venous thrombosis risk, improves psychological well-being,cancer-related fatigue, and physical function, making it highly promotable.
文摘BACKGROUND Endoscopic submucosal dissection(ESD)has become a widely accepted, minimally invasive treatment for gastrointestinal submucosal tumors. It has been reported that humanistic nursing care with graded psychological interventions can effectively enhance patients’physical activity in patients, reduce postoperative complications, and improve their postoperative quality of life.AIM To investigate the effects of combining humanistic care with graded psychological support on nursing satisfaction and quality of life in patients undergoing ESD for gastrointestinal submucosal tumors.METHODS A retrospective analysis was conducted on the clinical data of 180 patients who underwent ESD surgery for gastrointestinal submucosal tumors at our hospital between March 2021 and February 2023.Patients were allocated into groups based on the nursing care they received:The control group, which received routine care(n=90),and the observation group, which was subjected to humanistic nursing care in combination with graded psychological support(n=90).Patient anxiety and depression were assessed using the self-rating anxiety scale(SAS)and self-rating depression scale(SDS).Quality of life was evaluated using the shortform 36 health survey, and additional indications such as time to first food intake, surgery duration, length of hospital stay, nursing satisfaction, and adverse reactions were also recorded.Data was analyzed using SPSS22.0,with t-tests employed for continuous variables andχ2 tests for categorical data.RESULTS Patients in the observation group experienced significantly shorter times to first postoperative meal, surgery, and hospital stay compared to the control group. After the intervention, the SAS score of the observation group was 43.17±5.68,and the SDS score was 41.57±6.52,both significantly lower than those of the control group, with SAS score of 52.38±5.21 and SDS score of 51.23±8.25.In addition, the observation group scored significantly higher in daily living, physical function, psychological well-being,and social functioning(80.01±6.39,83.59±6.89,81.69±5.34,and 85.23±6.05,respectively).Moreover,the observation group also exhibited higher satisfaction and selfefficacy scores and a lower incidence of adverse reactions compared to the control group(P<0.05).CONCLUSION For patients undergoing ESD for gastrointestinal submucosal tumors, humanistic nursing care in combination with graded psychological nursing care significantly shorten the times to first postoperative meal, surgery, and hospital stay, effectively alleviates anxiety and depression, improves quality of life and nursing satisfaction, and mitigate the incidence of adverse reactions.
