文摘Background:It has been broadly witnessed that a large number of adolescents are suffering emotional and mental health problems after COVID-19,and such adverse experiences in early life often extend into adulthood, resulting in serious long-term implications. However,it is accepted that the literature examining the relationship between mental health problems in adolescents and their underlying psychological factors is limited. The purposes of the current study were to identify mental health problems of Korean adolescents and to investigate the possible influence of self-esteem,self-efficacy,and health locus of control on mental health problems. Methods:A total of 2104 Korean adolescents were randomly recruited from junior high and high schools located in Seoul,Korea. The Korean Symptom Checklist, and Self-esteem Scale,Health Locus of Control Scale,Self-efficacy Scale were applied to identify mental health problems and psychological factors among adolescents.Frequency analysis, independent t-tests,one-way ANOVA,correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis were performed to test the study hypothesis. Results:Korean adolescents showed a high prevalence of depression(61.4%),anxiety(44.7%),interpersonal sensitivity(76.1%),and hostility(40.3%).In addition, the findings indicated significant gender and age differences in adolescent mental health problems. Moreover, results reported that the adolescents’mental health problems were significantly associated with psychological factors(R^(2)=0.51 for depression,0.38 for anxiety,0.33 for interpersonal sensitivity, and 0.23 for hostility). Conclusions:The current findings highlight the need for comprehensive, culturally relevant mental health strategies for Korean adolescents. The interventions that foster psychological resilience, promote positive self-concept,and encourage internal control beliefs may be effective in mitigating mental health challenges.
文摘Thyroid cancer is a common endocrine malignancy with a rising incidence.Pa-tients often suffer from mental pain due to concerns about recurrence,treatment-related side-effect,and body image changes.Demographic factors like age, gender, physiological factors such as somatic symptoms and disease stage,co-gnitive-regulatory factors including negative and positive thinking, and social factors like work, economy, education level, and social support all influence their mental state.Existing interventions, including nursing, psychological, and tra-ditional Chinese medicine-based methods, have some benefits but face limitations like short-term effectiveness and lack of standardization.Future research should focus on creating better-defined,long-term,and widely applicable intervention programs and explore positive psychology-based approaches to improve patients'mental well-being and quality of life.
文摘BACKGROUND Postmenopausal women with osteoporosis are at high risk of developing depre-ssive symptoms, necessitating specialized psychological nursing interventions.AIM To investigate factors influencing depressive symptoms in postmenopausal women with osteoporosis and develop targeted psychological nursing interven-tions.METHODS A total of 180 postmenopausal women with osteoporosis admitted to the Depar-tment of Orthopedics at the First Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University between October 2021 and October 2024 were selected as research participants.Information on age, duration of menopause, body mass index, education level, marital status, activity intensity, bone density, presence of chronic diseases, calcium supplement intake, sex hormone levels, and depressive symptoms were collected. The 24-item Hamilton Depression Scale was used for assessment.RESULTS Forty-eight patients had no depressive symptoms, and 132 patients had depre-ssive symptoms.Comprehensive univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses showed that low bone density in the lumbar spine(L2-L4)and femoral neck, presence of chronic diseases, and low 5-hydroxytryptamine levels were independent risk factors for depressive symptoms, whereas calcium supplement intake and moderate to high-intensity activity were independent protective factors.CONCLUSION By implementing specialized psychological nursing interventions, and providing rehabilitation guidance, the incidence of depressive symptoms can be effectively reduced, improving the psychological health status and patient quality of life.

文摘Depression is highly prevalent among postmenopausal women with osteoporosis, driven by the combined effects of hormonal changes, reduced bone density, and psychosocial stress.A recent study by Cui and Su reported that 73.3%of affected women exhibited depressive symptoms, with low bone mineral density, chronic comorbidities, and reduced serotonin(5-hydroxytryptamine)levels as key risk factors.Notably,nurse-led psychological interventions improved both mood and quality of life. This editorial underscore the need to integrate mental health support into standard osteoporosis care.Simple, scalable strategies such as routine screening and nurse-delivered emotional support may help bridge the gap between physical and psychological health. These approaches are especially relevant for aging populations across diverse healthcare settings.A dual focus on bone and emotional well-being is essential to improving outcomes in this vulnerable group.
文摘Mental healthcare in Ethiopia is underutilized due to a lack of resources and skilled practitioners.Psychological counselling offers unique intervention possibilities because of its focus on a wide range of mental health and social justice issues. This literature review tracks the historical development of the profession of psychological counselling in Ethiopia to establish what has been achieved to date and the development challenges.Key achievements include recognition of the profession by the Ministry of Education, growing public awareness, and increasing capacity of practitioners skilled in psychological counselling.Challenges include limited contextually relevant training, poor representation of the profession within Ministry of Health policies, poor public and government mental health literacy, and a lack of regulatory frameworks.Postgraduate training would benefit from more culturally, contextually, and linguistically appropriate evidence-based,indigenous psychology practices. The profession would benefit from engagement in government policy development that promotes mental health, and professional regulatory bodies to hold practitioners accountable to professional standards and ethical practice.
文摘BACKGROUND Coronary heart disease(CHD)has shown a consistent upward trend in global incidence in recent years.Notably, older adults with CHD complicated by arrhy-thmia exhibit significantly higher susceptibility to psychological distress com-pared with the general CHD population. This increased vulnerability has garn-ered growing clinical and research interest in the potential therapeutic benefits of structured psychological interventions for alleviating comorbid depressive and anxiety symptoms in this high-risk demographic.AIM To evaluate the efficacy of psychological care in reducing anxiety and depressive symptoms among older adult patients with CHD and comorbid arrhythmia.METHODS This retrospective analysis included 100 patients with CHD and arrhythmia admitted to the First Affiliated Hospital of Jinzhou Medical University from June 2024 to December 2024.Of these,49 patients in the control group received routine care, whereas 51 patients in the observation group received psychological care in addition to routine care.Therapeutic outcomes were compared between the two groups.Psychological distress was assessed before and after providing nursing care.A treatment compliance scale developed by the hospital was used to assess adherence.Complication rates were also compared.Quality of life was evaluated using the Short Form-36 Health Survey after providing nursing care.Patient satisfaction with nursing care was assessed using a self-designed questionnaire.RESULTS The observation group demonstrated a higher overall treatment effectiveness compared with the control group(P<0.05).After nursing care, both groups showed reduced scores on the Self-Rating Anxiety Scale and Self-Rating Depression Scale compared with baseline(P<0.05),with significantly greater improvements in the observation group(P<0.05).Treatment compliance was higher and complication rates were lower in the observation group(P<0.05).Additionally,the observation group demonstrated better quality of life after 1 month of care and higher satisfaction with nursing services(P<0.05).CONCLUSION Psychological care for patients with CHD and comorbid arrhythmia effectively enhanced therapeutic outcomes, reduced anxiety and depression, improved treatment compliance and quality of life, and lowered the risk of complications. These findings support the broader implementation of psychological care for patients with CHD in clinical practice.
文摘Psychological interventions have demonstrated efficacy in improving patients’emotional state, cognition, and thinking abilities, thereby enhancing their quality of life and survival. This review examines literature from the China National Knowledge Infrastructure,Wanfang Data,Web of Science, and PubMed databases published over the past decade, focusing on the use of psychotherapy for poststroke anxiety and depression. The prevalence of anxiety and depression is significantly higher among patients who have experienced a stroke than in the general population, possibly due to vestibular dysfunction following brain injury.Current psychological interventions for stroke patients include cognitive behavioral therapy, supportive psychotherapy, music and art therapy, and exercise therapy. These approaches have been shown to promote psychological wellbeing and physical rehabilitation.
文摘BACKGROUND Colorectal cancer(CRC)has become the third leading cancer with the third highest occurrence rate and the second highest death ratio globally. Its incidence and mortality rates have been increasing annually in recent years, posing a serious threat to global public health.Digestive endoscopy technology can not only be used for the diagnosis of CRC,but it can also be used in determining the depth of infiltration in early CRC.There are significant deficiencies in care measures in this area.METHODS A total of 120 CRC patients were randomly and equally divided into a control group and an observation group. The patients in the control group received basic routine nursing care, and the patients in the observation group received sys-tematic digestive endoscopy center nursing care. The patients'compliance and nursing satisfaction were observed and recorded,as well as the Self-Rating Anxiety Scale(SAS),Self-Rating Depression Scale(SDS)and Visual Analogue Scale(VAS)scores.RESULTS After care, the SAS and SDS scale scores of patients in both groups significantly decreased compared to before care(P<0.05).The VAS scale scores significantly increased for each group compared to before examination(P<0.05).The SAS,SDS and VAS scale scores of the observation group were significantly lower than those of the control group after nursing care(P<0.05),and compliance and satisfaction of nursing care were significantly higher than those of the control group(P<0.05).CONCLUSION Digestive endoscopy center nursing can effectively intervene in and improve the psychological state and pain level of CRC patients, suggesting it is a valuable approach to adopt in the clinic.
