The pressure exerted by the work environment demands the utilization of defensive and coping strategies to deal with it. Our study aims to explore the relationship between professional stress factors, stress symptoms, and the consumption of psychoactive substances as a defensive and coping strategy deployed to address psychological distress at work. A qualitative and quantitative study was conducted with a sample of 405 employees from a wiring manufacturing. The main professional stress factors identified were concentration, overload, long working hours, and monotony, which showed a significant correlation with PAS consumption. Women were found to be more affected by stress and tended to consume more sedatives. Among the respondents, 21.98% reported PAS consumption, with tobacco being the most commonly used (M = 2.66), followed by alcohol (M = 1.94), cannabis (M = 1.79), and sedatives (M = 1.45). There was a significant positive correlation between PAS consumption and stress symptoms {tobacco (r = 0.232*), alcohol (r = 0.305**), cannabis (r = 0.389**)}.展开更多

Through a mixed-methods approach combining experimental design and qualitative analysis (N = 120), we examine how AI intermediaries influence communication dynamics, relationship building, and decision-making processes. Results indicate that while AMC initially creates barriers to trust formation, it ultimately leads to enhanced communication outcomes and stronger professional relationships when implemented with appropriate transparency and support. The study revealed a 31% improvement in cross-cultural understanding and a 24% increase in negotiation satisfaction rates when using AI-mediated channels with proper transparency measures. These findings contribute to the theoretical understanding of technology-mediated communication and practical applications for organizations implementing AI communication tools.展开更多

文摘Cultivation metaphors that compare teachers and students to gardeners and plants, respectively, have a long presence in the field of education. While such metaphors can be used to represent learner-centered pedagogies in which a teacher fosters the growth of their students, there is also a darker side to cultivation metaphors. For instance,Zipory(2020)argues that characteristics of agriculture’s grain economy-like repetitiveness, coercion, and lack of diversity-can be imposed onto education.Following Zipory’s call for the forest to serve as a more apt metaphorical trajectory for education,I propose using the forest garden as a middle ground between the traditional garden and the natural forest. To highlight the potential usefulness of the forest garden metaphor in education,I explore its application as related to teacher professional development(PD),specifically content and language integrated learning(CLIL)PD.By reflecting on the design and outcomes of Project SCILLA,a CLIL PD program for Kazakhstani university instructors,as well as CLIL PD more broadly,I demonstrate how the forest garden metaphor conceptualizes the relationships and power dynamics between and across various stakeholders in education in response to global rhetoric, national and local policies, and interpersonal interactions.By emulating the sustainable forest garden’s principles of planning and intentionality, localization, interconnectedness, diversity, creativity, and growth from decay, stakeholders can(re)shape the policies and practices of multilingual, multicultural education systems. In addition, education researchers can use a metaphorical forest garden lens to better appreciate the complexities at play within dynamic educational landscapes.
文摘BACKGROUND Global tumor incidence rises and therapies advance, driving oncology nursing specialization.Granting nurses prescriptive authority optimizes care but polarizes nurses'attitudes due to factors like risk and competence, hindering policy implementation.AIM To investigate the current status of the attitudes of oncology specialist nurses toward having prescribing authority, specifically concerning symptom management and supportive care in oncology practice, and we conducted a path analysis of their influencing factors.METHODS As participants in the survey, oncology specialist nurses working in hospitals of different grades in Jiangsu Province were selected from March 2025 to May 2025 using a stratified sampling method. The questionnaires were administered using the general information questionnaire, the beliefs and attitudes about nurses'prescriptive authority scale, the nurses'professional identity scale, and the selfefficacy scale.Pearson’s method was used to analyze the correlation between beliefs and attitudes about the prescriptive authority, professional identity, and self-efficacy of nurses.Multiple linear regression was performed to analyze the factors influencing the beliefs and attitudes of nurses’prescriptive authority. The Amos plug-in was used to construct structural equation models to analyze the influencing pathways.RESULTS A total of 329 questionnaires were distributed, and 328 valid questionnaires were returned(effective recovery rate:99.70%).The total score of the 328 oncology nurses on the beliefs and attitudes about nurses'prescriptive authority scale was 101.88±15.13,indicating a moderately high level.Univariate analysis revealed that gender and hospital grade were associated with this score(P<0.05).The Pearson correlation analysis revealed that self-efficacy was positively correlated with the scores of the beliefs and attitudes about nurses’prescriptive authority scale and the nurses’professional identity scale(r=0.4999,P<0.0001 and r=0.7048,P<0.05,respectively),whereas occupational identity was positively correlated only with the former(r=0.6209,P<0.05).Multiple linear regression analysis revealed occupational identity and self-efficacy as the factors influencing the scores of the beliefs and attitudes about nurses’prescriptive authority scale(P<0.05).The results of the path analysis revealed that selfefficacy significantly positively affected nurses’occupational identity and their beliefs and attitudes about having prescriptive authority;occupational identity played a mediating role between the two, with a mediating effect accounting for 54.46% of the total effect, and the structural equation model was well-fitted.CONCLUSION Oncology nurses have more positive attitudes toward prescriptive authority. In addition,self-efficacy positively and indirectly affects nurses’attitudes toward prescriptive authority through the mediating effect of occupational identity. This can be used as a basis for clinical practice to take targeted measures to improve nurses’self-efficacy and occupational identity, thus creating favorable conditions for effectively implementing the policy of prescriptive authority.
文摘This study investigates the effects of AI-mediated communication (AMC) on trust-building and negotiation outcomes in professional remote collaboration settings. These findings contribute to the theoretical understanding of technology-mediated communication and practical applications for organizations implementing AI communication tools.

文摘ChatGPT,a popular large language model developed by OpenAI,has the potential to transform the management of diabetes mellitus. It is a conversational artificial intelligence model trained on extensive datasets, although not specifically health-related.The development and core components of ChatGPT include neural networks and machine learning.Since the current model is not yet developed on diabetes-related datasets,it has limitations such as the risk of inaccuracies and the need for human supervision.Nevertheless,it has the potential to aid in patient engagement, medical education, and clinical decision support. In diabetes management,it can contribute to patient education, personalized dietary guidelines, and providing emotional support.Specifically,it is being tested in clinical scenarios such as assessment of obesity, screening for diabetic retinopathy, and provision of guidelines for the management of diabetic ketoacidosis.Ethical and legal considerations are essential before ChatGPT can be integrated into healthcare.Potential concerns relate to data privacy, accuracy of responses, and maintenance of the patient-doctor relationship.Ultimately, while ChatGPT and large language models hold immense potential to revolutionize diabetes care, one needs to weigh their limitations, ethical implications, and the need for human supervision. The integration promises a future of proactive, personalized, and patient-centric care in diabetes management.

文摘Objectives This study aimed to examine the role of the hidden curriculum in transmitting the educational mission and its impacts on nursing students’professional socialization. Methods This constructivist grounded theory study involved twenty-six students and five faculty members from a century-old nursing school in Macao.Semi-structured interviews examined the factors influencing nursing students’choice of a specific nursing school and their general learning experiences in nursing studies.Open and focused coding was employed to develop categories and concepts that capture the nuances of how the hidden curriculum influences students’personal experiences, perceptions, and values related to developing their professional identities. The data analysis was guided by the“Community of Practice”model. Results The educational mission fostered a hidden curriculum that emphasized nurturing qualities and social responsibilities, creating a family-like learning environment that positively influenced the professional socialization of nursing students.Under the core theme of“becoming a family,”two sub-themes emerged:“student-peer interactions-fostering sisterly/brotherly learning partnerships”and“student-faculty interactions–faculty’s acting as parenting instructors.”While the hidden curriculum promoted a democratic and egalitarian learning atmosphere among student-peers,it simultaneously reinforced hierarchical power dynamics among senior-junior students and student-faculty relationships, mirroring the power-based interpersonal dynamics often found in traditional Chinese families. Conclusions Explicating the educational mission can help shape a hidden curriculum that benefits nursing students’professional socialization.Faculty members should reflect on the power inequalities reproduced by the hidden curriculum and establish appropriate boundaries in student-faculty relationships.
