The influences of the field plate on frequency and breakdown performance are investigated simul- taneously by using a two-dimensional physics-based simulation. Compared with the conventional T-gate structures with a field plate length of 1.2 gm, this field plate structure can induce the small signal power gain at 10 GHz to increase by 5-9.5 dB, which depends on the distance between source FP and dramatically shortened gate FE This technique minimizes the parasitic capacitances, especially the gate-to-drain capacitance, showing a substantial potential for millimeter-wave, high power applications.展开更多

Second, to solve generalized stabilization control issue for underactuated systems with multiple equilibrium points,an equilibrium manifold linearized model is developed using a scheduling variable, and then a gain-scheduled backstepping control(GSBC) scheme for expanding the operational area of the controlled system is constructed. Finally, an adaptive mechanism is proposed to counteract the impact of external disturbances. The robust stability of the closed-loop system is ensured by Lyapunov theorem. Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness and high performance of the proposed scheme compared with other control schemes.展开更多

The design incorporates an inductive degeneracy circuit, employing a theoretical approach to enhance gain, minimize noise levels, and uphold low power consumption. The progression includes a shift to a cascode structure to further refine LNA parameters. Ultimately, with a 1.8 V bias, the achieved performance showcases a gain-to-noise figure ratio of 16 dB/0.5 dB, an IIP3 linearity at 5.1 dBm, and a power consumption of 3 mW. This architecture is adept at operating across a wide frequency band spanning from 0.5 GHz to 6 GHz, rendering it applicable in diverse RF scenarios.展开更多

In this paper, approximate analysis of power offset is presented to describe MIMO system with uniform linear antenna arrays of fixed length. It is assumed that the number of receive antenna is larger than that of transmit antenna. Spatially Correlated MIMO Channel is approximated by tri-diagonal toeplitz matrix. The determinant of tri-diagonal toeplitz matrix, which is fitted by elementary curve, is one of the key factors related to power offset. Based on the curve fitting, the determinant of tri-diagonal toeplitz matrix is mathematically tractable. Consequently, the expression of local extreme points can be derived to optimize power offset. The simulation results show that approximation above is accurate in local extreme points of power offset. The proposed expression of local extreme points is helpful to approach optimal power offset.展开更多

By using the effective field method, the four-mirror cavity with two gain media can be regarded as a linear resonator with one effective combined gain (ECG), and we procure a theoretical model of the ECG and deduce its exact analytical expression. When the two branch gains are close to each other; the combined gain can be reduced to their product; and the simplified presentation of ECG has been demonstrated. The combined output power which directly reflects the small signal ECG of the four-mirror cavity is studied experimentally; and the results are in good agreement with the theoretical ones.展开更多

An important challenge is the need of voltage control to maintain the terminal voltage of a wind plant to make it a PV bus like conventional generators with excitation control. In the previous work for controlling wind plant, especially the Doubly Fed Induction Generator (DFIG) system, the proportional-integral (PI) controllers are popularly applied. These approaches usually need to tune the PI controllers to obtain control gains as a tradeoff or compromise among various operating conditions. In this paper, a new voltage control approach based on a different philosophy is presented. In the proposed approach, the PI control gains for the DFIG system are dynamically adjusted based on the dynamic, continuous sensitivity which essentially indicates the dynamic relationship between the change of control gains and the desired output voltage. Hence, this control approach does not require any good estimation of fixed control gains because it has the self-learning mechanism via the dynamic sensitivity. This also gives the plug-and-play feature of DFIG controllers to make it promising in utility practices. Simulation results verify that the proposed approach performs as expected under various operating conditions.展开更多
