A one-step procedure to hydrophilize monodisperse poly(chloromethyl-styrene-co-divinylbenzene) beads has been presented with 2-hydroxy-3-[4-(hydroxymethyl)-1H-1,2,3-triazol-1-yl]propy1 2-methylacrylate(HTMA) as monomer by surface-initiated atom transfer radical polymerization(SI-ATRP).The length of the grafted poly(HTMA) chain was varied via controlling the ratio of HTMA to initiator on the surface of the beads.Using these grafted beads as the stationary phase in hydrophilic interaction chromatography,good separation was obtained for nucleosides in the mobile phase of acetonitrile-water.It was also found that the retention time and selectivity of solutes showed a positive relationship with the length of the grafted poly(HTMA) chain. 展开更多

In modern engineering,enhancing boiling heat transfer efficiency is crucial for optimizing energy use and several industrial processes involving different types of materials.This study explores the enhancement of pool boiling heat transfer potentially induced by combining perforated copper particles on a heated surface with a sodium dodecyl sulfate(SDS)surfactant in saturated deionized water.Experiments were conducted at standard atmospheric pressure,with heat flux ranging from 20 to 100 kW/m2.The heating surface,positioned below the layer of freely moving copper beads,allowed the particle layer to shift due to liquid convection and steam nucleation.The study reports on the influence of copper bead diameter(2,3,4,and 5 mm),particle quantity,arrangement,and SDS concentration(20,200,and 500 ppm).It is shown that the combination of 5 mm particles and a 500 ppm SDS concentration can yield a remarkable 139%improvement in heat transfer efficiency.As demonstrated by direct flow visualization,bubble formation occurs primarily in the gaps between the particles and the heated surface,with the presence of SDS reducing bubble size and accelerating bubble detachment. 展开更多

Common bunt is a major disease of wheat worldwide that reduces crop yields and grain quality.Rapid and sensitive quantitative detection methods are required to diagnose and monitor this disease in wheat management programs and to ensure seed quality.In this study,an immunomagnetic beads-based enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(IMBs-ELISA)was developed for the detection of Tilletia foetida teliospores in wheat and flour.An anti-T.foetida teliospores polyclonal antibody bound to immunomagnetic beads was used as the capture probe,and a polyclonal antibody labeled with horseradish peroxidase was used as the detector probe.The capture and detection conditions for the target spores were optimized to achieve the best determination results.Under optimal conditions,the proposed method took less than 2 h to complete.Its limit of detection was 300 teliospores per gram.The critical reaction in this IMBs-ELISA occurred on magnetic beads.This not only simplified the traditional ELISA process,but also shortened the detection time.This study has expanded the application of the IMBs-ELISA method to fungal spore detection.This method has potential applications in agriculture and seed management. 展开更多

天珠作为一种稀有蚀花玛瑙珠,因其具有不同寓意价值和复杂多样的图纹,给天珠市场的广大爱好收藏者鉴别带来一定的挑战。然而,随着深度学习的迅速发展,天珠传统市场存在耗时耗力、识别率易受专家主观经验影响的人工分类鉴别方法不能有效... 天珠作为一种稀有蚀花玛瑙珠,因其具有不同寓意价值和复杂多样的图纹,给天珠市场的广大爱好收藏者鉴别带来一定的挑战。然而,随着深度学习的迅速发展,天珠传统市场存在耗时耗力、识别率易受专家主观经验影响的人工分类鉴别方法不能有效满足市场需要。因此,有必要构建一套天珠图像识别数据集,探索一种基于深度学习的天珠自动识别方法,对提升天珠识别准确率和工作效率至关重要。本数据集首先对藏区不同类别的天珠图像展开采集、分类和保存,最终形成22类天珠,原始图像数量为5443张,每个类别的天珠图像为203-305张,数据量大小约为693.4 MB;其次,通过数据增广进行数据集扩充,最终划分为6:1:1比例的训练集、验证集和测试集;最后,采用主流图像分类方法在原始天珠图像和数据增强后的天珠图像数据集上进行多次实验验证,验证准确率高达93.8%。构建的数据集可以有效满足目前深度学习分类识别模型的训练、验证和测试需要,为研究天珠图像分类、图像分割、目标检测以及打造自动识别移动端平台提供必要的数据支撑。 展开更多

BACKGROUND The combination of transarterial chemoembolization(TACE),lenvatinib,and programmed cell death 1(PD-1)inhibitor has been widely used in the treatment of advanced hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)and has achieved promising results.However,there are few studies comparing whether drug-eluting beads TACE(DTACE)can bring more survival benefits to patients with large HCC compared to conventional TACE(C-TACE)in this triplet therapy.AIM To compare the efficacy and adverse events(AEs)of triple therapy comprising DTACE,PD-1 inhibitors,and lenvatinib(D-TACE-P-L)and C-TACE,PD-1 inhibitors,and lenvatinib(C-TACE-P-L)in patients with large HCC(maximum diameter≥5 cm),and analyze the prognostic factors.METHODS Following a comprehensive review of our hospital’s medical records,this retrospective study included 104 patients:50 received D-TACE-P-L,and 54 received CTACE-P-L.We employed Kaplan-Meier estimation to assess the median progression-free survival(PFS)between the two groups,utilized Cox multivariate regression analysis to identify prognostic factors,and applied theχ2 test to evaluate AEs.RESULTS The objective response rate(ORR)and median PFS were significantly higher in the D-TACE-P-L group compared to the C-TACE-P-L group(ORR:66.0%vs 44.4%,P=0.027;median PFS:6.8 months vs 5.0 months,P=0.041).Cox regression analysis identified treatment option,portal vein tumor thrombus,and hepatic vein invasion as protective factors for PFS.AEs were comparable between the two CONCLUSION D-TACE-P-L may have significantly better PFS and ORR for large HCC,while exhibiting similar AEs to C-TACE-PL. 展开更多

目的探讨应用BACs-on-Beads(Bo Bs)技术在无创DNA产前检测(NIPT)阳性结果中的诊断价值。方法对2015年1月至2016年6月因NIPT阳性结果在西京医院产前诊断中心进行羊水穿刺的129例孕妇进行Bo Bs检测和染色体核型分析。结果 Bo Bs共检出异常... 目的探讨应用BACs-on-Beads(Bo Bs)技术在无创DNA产前检测(NIPT)阳性结果中的诊断价值。方法对2015年1月至2016年6月因NIPT阳性结果在西京医院产前诊断中心进行羊水穿刺的129例孕妇进行Bo Bs检测和染色体核型分析。结果 Bo Bs共检出异常数80例,检出率62.02%。其中21三体55例、18三体10例、13三体1例、性染色体异常14例(X0 3例,XXX 3例,XXY 5例,XYY 2例,X0/XY嵌合1例),准确率依次为84.62%、71.43%、14.29%、41.18%。染色体核型分析结果与Bo Bs结果完全一致,确证了49例NIPT假阳性结果。结论 NIPT存在一定比例的假阳性结果,阳性病例必须进行进一步产前诊断,Bo Bs技术具有快速,简便,准确、高通量等优点,是快速确诊的有效手段。 展开更多

目的探讨细菌人工染色体标记-微球鉴别分离技术(BACs-on-Beads,BoBs)在快速诊断常见染色体异常中的应用。方法利用BoBs和染色体核型分析技术对856例孕妇的羊水标本进行检测,统计分析两种检测方法的一致性。结果856例孕妇共检出155例染... 目的探讨细菌人工染色体标记-微球鉴别分离技术(BACs-on-Beads,BoBs)在快速诊断常见染色体异常中的应用。方法利用BoBs和染色体核型分析技术对856例孕妇的羊水标本进行检测,统计分析两种检测方法的一致性。结果856例孕妇共检出155例染色体异常病例,总体异常率为18.11%。两种方法同时检出141例染色体异常(包括136例非整倍体和5例嵌合体),染色体核型分析单独检出9例染色体异常(包括4例嵌合体和5例平衡易位),BoBs单独检出5例染色体微缺失/微重复。在染色体数目异常检出方面,BoBs和染色体核型分析的一致率为100%,对嵌合体检测的符合率为55.56%,对平衡易位和微缺失/微重复检测的符合率为0%。结论BoBs技术可以快速检测常见染色体数目异常及部分染色体微缺失/微重复,但存在漏诊风险。仅根据BoBs检测结果对胎儿作进一步处理存在一定风险,BoBs检测与染色体核型分析联合应用可以快速诊断常见染色畸形以减轻孕妇心理负担。 展开更多

目的通过产前BAC-on-Beads技术对胎儿性染色体非整倍体和性染色体微缺失的检测,结合胎儿染色体核型分析和胎儿染色体全基因组微阵列分析(chromosomal microarray analysis,CMA)检测,以探讨Bo Bs技术用于检测胎儿性染色体非整倍体和微缺... 目的通过产前BAC-on-Beads技术对胎儿性染色体非整倍体和性染色体微缺失的检测,结合胎儿染色体核型分析和胎儿染色体全基因组微阵列分析(chromosomal microarray analysis,CMA)检测,以探讨Bo Bs技术用于检测胎儿性染色体非整倍体和微缺失/微重复检测的可行性。方法将2016年4月-2017年6月采集到的1576例具有产前诊断指征的单胎孕妇羊水,同时行产前Bo Bs与传统羊水染色体G显带核型分析,结合CMA验证并比较染色体异常的检测结果。结果在1576例羊水样本中,产前Bo Bs技术共检测出性染色体非整倍体异常14例:其中X探针检测区扩增异常减少2例;X探针检测区扩增异常增加7例;Y探针检测区扩增异常增多2例,X/Y探针检测区扩增异常增多1例;传统染色体核型结果为:1例45,XO;2例47,XXX;4例47,XXY;4例47,XYY;3例不同比例的性染色体嵌合体(嵌合比例均>20%),与Bo Bs检测提示结果均一致。产前Bo Bs检出11例性染色体的微缺失/微重复分别是:3例Yq11的缺失,4例Xp22的缺失;1例Xp22.33q28大片段的重复/缺失;经CMA验证:3例Yq11.23区段380Kb、395Kb、928.8Kb缺失;3例Xp22.31区段1.68Mb、1.5Mb、1.68Mb缺失;1例Xp22.33~p22.2片段12.8Mb缺失;1例Xp22.33~q28大片段的7.7Mb缺失、33.5Mb和106.4Mb的重复,3例拒绝验证。但只有2例Bo Bs检测染色体核型分析能辨析。结论产前Bobs技术可以准确检测出性染色体非整倍体异常,包括嵌合比例>20%的染色体核型;核型分析只能检测出性染色体>10Mb缺失/重复,而产前Bo Bs结合CMA验证可以准确检测出性染色体微缺失/微重复,且能较全面的检测胎儿性染色体异常,预防出生缺陷。 展开更多

The study examined the adsorption of Pb(II) ions from aqueous solution onto chitosan, chitosan-GLA and chitosan-alginate beads. Several important parameters influencing the adsorption of Pb(II) ions such as initial pH, adsorbent dosage and different initial concentration of Pb(II) ions were evaluated. The mechanism involved during the adsorption process was explored based on ion exchange study and using spectroscopic techniques. The adsorption capacities obtained based on non–linear Langmuir isotherm for chitosan, chitosan-GLA and chitosan-alginate beads in single metal system were 34.98, 14.24 and 60.27 mg/g, respectively. However, the adsorption capacity of Pb(II) ions were reduced in the binary metal system due to the competitive adsorption between Pb(II) and Cu(II) ions. Based on the ion exchange study, the release of Ca2+, Mg2+, K+ and Na+ ions played an important role in the adsorption of Pb(II) ions by all three adsorbents but only at lower concentrations of Pb(II) ions. Infrared spectra showed that the binding between Pb(II) ions and the adsorbents involved mostly the nitrogen and oxygen atoms. All three adsorbents showed satisfactory adsorption capacities and can be considered as an efficient adsorbent for the removal of Pb(II) ions from aqueous solutions. 展开更多

The bead size is one of the critical parameters in controlling the drug release rate. In this study,the relationship between polymer concentration and beads size was investigated. Aqueous polyethylene oxide( PEO) solutions with different concentrations were prepared to obtain various beaded nanofibers by electrospnning. Optical microscope and scanning electron microscope( SEM) were used to observe the variation tendency of bead size. With an increase in the polymer concentration,the diameter of fibers between beads became bigger,while the fiber uniformity improved. In addition, the polymer concentration influenced the distribution of bead diameter. Higher polymer concentration would reduce the possibility of small-sized beads formation and improve the uniformity of bead diameter. The study provides a possible way to control the size of beads,which is helpful for further research on the control of particle drug release. 展开更多

AIM To assess the usefulness of intra-arterial contrastenhanced ultrasonography(IAUS) during transarterial chemoembolization(TACE) with drug-eluting beads(DEB) for hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).METHODS Thirty two patients with 39 HCC underwent DEB-TACE guided with IAUS, and examined by contrast-enhanced ultrasonography(CEUS) or dynamic CT after DEB-TACE were enrolled in this study. CEUS findings before DEBTACE and IAUS findings were compared. Treatments judged to be complete and incomplete for lesions were appropriate and insufficient, respectively. Findings on CEUS and/or dynamic CT performed 1, 3 and 6 mo after DEB-TACE were evaluated using m RECIST(CR/PR/SD/PD).RESULTS The treatments were complete and incomplete in 26 and 13 lesions, respectively. On imaging evaluation using CEUS and/or dynamic CT one month after treatment, 25 and 1 lesions were judged to be CR and PR, respectively, and at 6 mo after treatment, the results were CR, PR, SD and PD for 24, 1, 0 and 1 of these lesions, respectively, in the 26 completely treated lesions. Of the 13 lesions in which treatment was incomplete, the results on imaging at one month after treatment were CR, PR, SD and PD for 0, 6, 4 and 3 lesions, respectively. The overall CR rate at 6 mo after treatment was 61.5%(24/39).CONCLUSION A combination of DEB-TACE with IAUS can improve the therapeutic effects in patients with HCC. 展开更多

Developing a low-cost and well-recyclable adsorbent with high adsorption capacity is greatly desirable in dye wastewater treatment. Here, we demonstrate a kind of novel tough and reusable hydrogel beads with quite high capacity of dye adsorption via incorporating mussel-bioinspired poly(L-DOPA) (PDOPA) into alginate/poly(acrylamide) double network (DN) hydrogels. The synthesized PDOPA nanoaggregates were introduced into the DN hydrogels by simple one-pot mixing with the monomers prior to polymerization. The fabricated hydrogel beads exhibited high mechanical strength and good elastic recovery due to the interpenetrating Ca2+-alginate and poly(acrylamide) networks. It was shown that the beads exhibited relatively high dye adsorption capacity compared to other adsorbents reported in literature, and the introduction of PDOPA with an appropriate amount raised the adsorption capacity. It is believed that the addition of PDOPA and the matrix of double network architecture contributed synergistically to the high adsorption capacity of hydrogel beads. Moreover, the desorption of dyes could be easily realized via rinsing in acidic water and ethanol solution. The hydrogel beads remained the high adsorption capacity even after 5 times of adsorption and desorption cycles. This tough and stable hydrogel with high adsorption capacity may have potential in treatment of dye wastewater released by textile dyeing industry. 展开更多
