Methods: We conducted a systematic review to identify randomized controlledtrials (RCTs) involving neostigmine injections given at the Zusanli (ST 36) acupoint for treating postpartum urinaryretention. We searched the Cochrane Library, Pubmed, Web of Science, Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure, VipDatabase, and Chinese Biomedical Literature Database from the creation of the database to December 30, 2016. Bias riskassessment was performed using Revman 5.3 software from Cochrane based on the criteria set out in the CochraneHandbook for Systematic Reviews of Interventions, version 5.1.0. Results: Thirteen studies were included with 627participants in the treatment group and 584 participants in the control group. (1) Overall response rate: neostigmineinjections given at the Zusanli (ST 36) acupoint have a better curative effect than injections given in muscle, odds ratio(OR) = 8.74, 95% confidence interval (CI) [5.83, 13.10], Z = 10.49 (P 〈 0.001); (2) Comparison of effects at differentdosages: (i) 0.5 mg of neostigmine Zusanli (ST 36) acupoint injection group has better effect than 1 mg of neostigmineintramuscular injection group, OR = 15.84, 95% CI [5.74, 43.72],Z = 5.34 (P 〈 0.001), (ii) 0.5 mg of neostigmineinjection given at the Zusanli acupoint has a better curative effect than 0.5 mg of neostigmine injection given in muscle ,OR = 7.30, 95% CI [3.47, 15.34], Z = 5.24 (P 〈 0.001); (iii) 1 mg of neostigmine injection at the Zusanli (ST 36)acupoint has better efficacy than 1 mg of neostigmine injection in muscle, OR = 7.76, 95% CI [4.46, 13.52], Z = 7.25 (P〈 0.001). Conclusion: Neostigmine injections at the Zusanli (ST 36) acupoint have beneficial effects in treatingpostpartum urinary retention. However, the low quality of the studies included in the meta-analysis raises questions overthe reliability of the results. Further studies are still needed.展开更多

The patients were instructed to press the stuck seed twice a day for 3 to 5 minutes each time. Auricular acupoints of both sides were used alternately every 2 days. The electric acupuncture was applied at Zusanli points about 30 minutes each time every other day. Ten times (i. e. 20 days) make one course of treatment and the routine treatment consists of 1 to 2 courses. The results showed that all the patients were cured, patients with Shi Mi (the constipation of excess type) were cured after one course of treatrnent while Xu Mi (the constipation of deficiency type) were cured after two courses. The study suggests that this kind of treatment is an ideal therapy for functional constipation. The pathogenesis and mechanism of treatment of auricular acupuncture pressing associated with acupuncture at Zusanli point for constipation are discussed.展开更多

Outcome measures were the NLR and the scores from the European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer Quality of Life Questionnaire(EORTC QLQ-C30). The NLR and the EORTC QLQ-C30 were assessed at baseline and at the end of 6 weeks.RESULTS: Five participants dropped out, leaving afinal total of 65 participants who completed the trial. Groups A and B had a similar mean NLR at baseline. After the treatment course, the NLR in group A was significantly lower than that in group B(P <0.001). Compared with group B, the EORTC QLQ-C30 scores in group A were significantly greater in terms of global health status or quality of life(P < 0.001) and function(P < 0.05), and significantly lower in terms of symptoms(P < 0.05).CONCLUSION: The present study suggests that performing scar-producing moxibustion by heat-stimulating the acupoints Zusanli(ST 36) and Feishu(BL13) effectively decreases the NLR and improves the quality of life in patients with NSCLC.展开更多

Morphologic change and functional disorder of myelin sheath and axon appear when diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN) occurs. Whether electroacupuncture at Zusanfi(ST 36) and Shenshu(BL 32) points can enhance the expression of CGT protein and mRNA in the DPN tissue? OBJECTIVE: To observe the effect of electroacupuncture at Zusanfi and Shenshu points on motor, sensory conduction velocity and CGT mRNA and its protein expression of sciatic nerve in rats with DPN. DESIGN: A randomized and controlled animal experiment SETTING : Department of Neurology and Central Laboratory, Yueyang Hospital of Traditional Chinese & Western Medicine, Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. MATERIALS : Totally 60 healthy male Wistar rats of clean grade, aged 4 month, with body mass of 200 to 220 g, were enrolled in this study. Streptozotocin (STZ, Sigma Company of USA, Batch No. S-0130). METHODS: This study was carried out in the Animal Experimental Center and Central Laboratory, Yueyang Hospital of Traditional Chinese & Western Medicine during February 2005 to March 2006. (1) Fifteen rats were randomly chosen, serving as normal group.AU the other rats were intraperitoneally injected once with STZ to develop experimental diabetic rat models. If fasting blood glucose was ≥ 15 mmol/L,sensory nerve and motor nerve conduction velocity of sciatic nerve was obviously slowed, tail-swaying temperature threshold was increased and myelinated nerve fiber of sciatic nerve changed, DPN models were successful. The successful model rats were randomly assigned into 3 groups: model group, control group(electroacupuncture at non-meridian-non-acupoint)and electroacupuncture group [electroacupuncture at Zusan/i and Shenshu points], with 15 rats each. The rats in the normal group and model group were untouched. In the electroacupuncture group (electroacupuncture at Zusanfi and Shenshu points), Shenshu point (double) and Zusanfi point (double) were chosen referencing to The Atlas of the Rat's Acupoints. G6805- Ⅱ electric acupuncture apparatus was used, and current intensity was controlled at 20 min/time, once every other day, 12 times within 24 days. In the control group, the tip of rat-tail was stimulated, and the concrete procedures were the same as in the electroacupuncture at Zusanfi and Shenshu points. (2) Motor nerve conduction velocity and sensory nerve conduction velocity of rats were detected with neuroelectrophysiology detector in the end of the treatment, and the expressions of CGT protein and mRNA of sciatic nerve were detected with immunohistochemical method and fluorescent quantitative PCR technique. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: (1) Motor and sensory nerve conduction velocity. (2) The expression of CGT protein and its mRNA. RESULTS: All the 60 rats entered the stage of result analysis. (1) Comparison of motor and sensory nerve conduction velocity of rats after electroacupuncture: Motor nerve conduction velocity of rats in the model group[(31.37±3.69) m/s], control group [(32.74±5.42) m/s] and electroacupuncture group [(41.30 ±1.15) m/s] was significantly lower than that in the normal group [(41.30±1.15) m/s, P 〈 0.01]; The sensory nerve conduction velocity of rats in the model group[(18.17±9.54) m/s], control group [(21.39±5.61) m/s]and electroacupuncture group [(35.81 ±4.59) m/s] was significantly lower than that in the normal group [(46.38± 6.32) m/s,P 〈 0.01]; The motor and sensory nerve conduction velocity of electroacupuncture group was significantly higher than that in the model group [(38.04±2.01) m/s vs. (32.74±5.42) m/s,(35.81±4.59) m/s vs. (21.39±5.61) m/s,P 〈 0.01]. (2) Comparison of the expression of CGT protein of sciatic nerve of rats: The number of CGT positive cells of sciatic nerve in model group, control group or electroacupuncture group was significantly smaller than that in normal group [(9 770.33±1 461.73), (10 588.13±1119.52), (27 518.27± 9 078.29), (37 769.67±4 021.81)/μm^2,P 〈 0.01]; The number of CGT positive cells of the sciatic nerve in the electroacupuncture group was significantly larger than that in the model group and control group (P 〈 0.01). The number of CGT positive cells of sciatic nerve was close between control group and electroacupuncture group (P 〉 0.05). (3) Comparison of CGT mRNA expression of sciatic nerve of rats: Ct value of CGT mRNA of sciatic nerve of rats in the model group, control group and electroacupuncture group was significantly higher than that in the normal group (13.75±2.60,14.81±2.80,11.67±1.75,9.30±0.98, P 〈 0.01 ); Ct value of CGT mRNA of sciatic nerve of rats in the electroacupuncture group was significantly lower than that in the model group and control group (P 〈 0.01), and that was close between electroacupuncture group and control group (P 〉 0.05). CONCLUSION : Electroacupuncture at Zusanfi and Shenshu points can increase motor and sensory nerve conduction velocity of rats with DPN. It might be associated with up-regulating the expression of CGT mRNA and its protein.展开更多

It is found that acupuncture at Weiwanxiashu point can significantly lower the BG content and inhibit release of PG; no significant changes in BG and PG are found when acupuncture is given at Zusanli (ST 36) point alone, however BG and PG contents decrease more obviously when acupuncture employed at both Zusanli and Weiwanxiashu, suggesting that Zusanli has a marked synergetic action with Weiwanxiashu.展开更多

We used both original source texts and textual criticism to trace the original meaning of the phrases, "take the tender spot as the point" and "use the Ashi method." Linguistic theory informed our discussion of three similar terms and our analysis of them. We show that Ashi points are in theory similar to regular acupuncture points in terms of their definition and function. Furthermore, we can use the concept of "c/i-pathway (Qi./ie)" to expand our understanding of the clinical use of Ashi points. Ultimately, the main purpose of our research was to clarify that the classical Ashi point and modern, western concept of the trigger point are in fact quite similar. The two concepts have been described in different languages primarily due to cultural differences.展开更多

文摘OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the effect of electroacupuncture on rapid gastric emptying by comparing the effectiveness of electroacupuncture at both Zusanli(ST36)and Zhongwan(CV12)(He-Mu acupoints)versus electroacupuncture at Zhongwan(CV12)alone.METHODS:Sixty-five patients were randomly divided into two groups;33 patients in the He-Mu acupoints group received electroacupuncture at both Zusanli(ST36)and Zhongwan(CV12),while 32 patients in the single acupoint group received electroacupuncture only at Zhongwan(CV12).Both groups were treated once daily for 30 min, five times per week for 3 weeks. Before and after the 3-week treatment course, patients underwent gastric emptying scintigraphy and were assessed using the Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)symptom scale of gastrointestinal diseases. The two groups were compared regarding the percentages of gastric retention at 30 and 60 min and the TCM symptom scores.RESULTS:After the treatment course, the percentages of gastric retention at 30 and 60 min were significantly improved in both groups compared with the pre-treatment values(P<0.01).The improvement in the gastric retention was significantly better in the He-Mu acupoints group than the single acupoint group at 30 min(P<0.01)and 60 min(P<0.05).The TCM symptom score was significantly decreased after the treatment course in both groups(P<0.01).The improvement in the TCM symptom score was significantly better in the He-Mu acupoints group than the single acupoint group(P<0.01).The total effective rate was 93.55%(29/31)in the He-Mu acupoints group and 77.42%(24/31)in the single acupoint group. The treatment effect was better in the He-Mu acupoints group than the single acupoint group(P<0.05).CONCLUSIONS:Electroacupuncture at both Zusanli(ST36)and Zhongwan(CV12)or at Zhongwan(CV12)alone is effective in treating rapid gastric emptying.Furthermore, electroacupuncture at both Zusanli(ST36)and Zhongwan(CV12)is more effective than electroacupuncture at Zhongwan(CV12)alone.
文摘BACKGROUND Postoperative intestinal paralysis is common in gastrointestinal surgery, and the study of electroacupuncture mechanisms is of great significance.AIM To explore the neuroimmune regulatory mechanism of electroacupuncture at the Zusanli acupoint(ST36)in postoperative intestinal paralysis following gastrointestinal surgery.METHODS A total of 156 patients admitted to the Affiliated Hospital of Jiangnan University between January 2022 and October 2024 for postoperative intestinal paralysis following gastrointestinal surgery were randomly divided into two groups:A control group and an electroacupuncture group, with 75 patients in each. The control group received conventional Western medical treatment, while the electroacupuncture group received electroacupuncture in addition to this,at the bilateral Zusanli acupoints. Both groups received treatment for 7 days.Clinical efficacy, gastrointestinal function recovery, and gastrointestinal hormone[motilin(MTL),gastrin(GAS)],neurotransmitter[vasoactive intestinal peptide(VIP),nitric oxide(NO)],and inflammatory cytokine[tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),serum interleukin-6(IL-6),interleukin-1β(IL-1β)]levels were compared between the two groups before and seven days after treatment.Adverse reactions were also recorded.RESULTS The electroacupuncture group demonstrated a higher overall treatment effectiveness rate and faster recovery of bowel sounds,as well as faster first defecation and first flatus than the control group(P<0.05).After seven days of treatment,MTL and GAS levels were significantly higher and VIP,NO,TNF-α,IL-6 and IL-1βlevels were significantly lower in the electroacupuncture group than in the control group(P<0.05).No adverse reactions were observed in either group during treatment.CONCLUSION Electroacupuncture at the Zusanli acupoint can enhance clinical efficacy, promote the recovery of gastrointestinal function, and regulate the neuroimmune microenvironment in patients with intestinal paralysis after gastrointestinal surgery. This mechanism may involve excitation of the vagus nerve and activation of the cholinergic antiinflammatory pathway through electroacupuncture stimulation of the Zusanli acupoint.
文摘Objective: We aimed to determine the effect of neostigmine injections given at the Zusanli (ST 36) acupoint whentreating postpartum urinary retention. Further studies are still needed.
文摘This paper reports that 65 cases with functional constipation were treated by putting one Wang Bu Liu Xing (semen vaccariae) seed on each acupoint, Intestinum crassum, Intestinum tenue,Sympathicum, Lung, Spleen, Subcortex, of auricula and pressing, associated with acupuncture at Zusanli point on both sides. The pathogenesis and mechanism of treatment of auricular acupuncture pressing associated with acupuncture at Zusanli point for constipation are discussed.

文摘OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the effect of heat stimulation via scar-producing moxibustion at the acupoints Zusanli(ST 36) and Feishu(BL 13) on the neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio(NLR) and quality of life in patients with non-small-cell lung cancer(NSCLC).METHODS: Seventy patients with NSCLC were randomly assigned into two groups: group A received scar-producing moxibustion at the acupoints Zusanli(ST 36) and Feishu(BL 13) every day for 6 weeks, while group B received no intervention(control group). Compared with group B, the EORTC QLQ-C30 scores in group A were significantly greater in terms of global health status or quality of life(P < 0.001) and function(P < 0.05), and significantly lower in terms of symptoms(P < 0.05).CONCLUSION: The present study suggests that performing scar-producing moxibustion by heat-stimulating the acupoints Zusanli(ST 36) and Feishu(BL13) effectively decreases the NLR and improves the quality of life in patients with NSCLC.

文摘BACKGROUND: Ceramide galactosyltransferase (CGT) protein and mRNA expression defect can cause the abnormal morphology and slowing conduction velocity of peripheral nerve. It might be associated with up-regulating the expression of CGT mRNA and its protein.
文摘The Effects of electroacupuncture (EA) at Weiwanxiashu (EX-B3) and Zusanli (ST 36) points on blood glucose (BG) and plasma pancreatic glucagon (PG) contents were dynamically observed in diabetic rabbits induced by Alloxan. It is found that acupuncture at Weiwanxiashu point can significantly lower the BG content and inhibit release of PG; no significant changes in BG and PG are found when acupuncture is given at Zusanli (ST 36) point alone, however BG and PG contents decrease more obviously when acupuncture employed at both Zusanli and Weiwanxiashu, suggesting that Zusanli has a marked synergetic action with Weiwanxiashu.

文摘The strong connection between braids and knots provides valuable insights into studying the topological state and phase classification of various physical systems. The phenomenon of non-Hermitian(NH)two-and three-band braiding has received widespread attention. However,a systematic exploration and visualization of non-Abelian braiding and the associated knot transformations in four-band systems remains unexplored. Here,we propose a theoretical model of NH four-band braiding, provide its phase diagram, and establish its trivial,Abelian, and non-Abelian braiding rules.Additionally,we report on special knots, such as the Hopf and Solomon links in braided knots, and reveal that their transformations are accompanied by and mediated through exceptional points. Our work provides a detailed case for studying NH multiband braiding and knot structures in four-band systems, which could offer insights for topological photonics and analog information processing applications.

文摘Background:The medicinal material known as Os Draconis(Longgu)originates from fossilized remains of ancient mammals and is widely used in treating emotional and mental conditions. However, fossil resources are nonrenewable, and clinical demand is increasingly difficult to meet, leading to a proliferation of counterfeit products.During prolonged geological burial, static pressure from the surrounding strata severely compromises the microstructural integrity of osteons in Os Draconis, but Os Draconis still largely retains the structural features of mammalian bone. Methods:Using verified authentic Os Draconis samples over 10,000 years old as a baseline, this study summarizes the ultrastructural characteristics of genuine Os Draconis.Employing electron probe microanalysis and optical polarized light microscopy,we examined 28 batches of authentic Os Draconis and 31 batches of counterfeits to identify their ultrastructural differences.Key points for ultrastructural identification of Os Draconis were compiled, and a new identification approach was proposed based on these differences. Results:Authentic Os Draconis exhibited distinct ultrastructural markers:irregularly shaped osteons with traversing fissures,deformed/displaced Haversian canals, and secondary mineral infill(predominantly calcium carbonate).Counterfeits showed regular osteon arrangements, absent traversal fissures, and homogeneous hydroxyapatite composition.Lab-simulated samples lacked structural degradation features.EPMA confirmed calcium carbonate infill in fossilized Haversian canals, while elemental profiles differentiated lacunae types(void vs.mineral-packed).Conclusion:The study established ultrastructural criteria for authentic Os Draconis identification:osteon deformation, geological fissures penetrating bone units, and heterogenous mineral deposition. These features, unattainable in counterfeits or modern processed bones, provide a cost-effective,accurate identification method. This approach bridges gaps in TCM material standardization and supports quality control for clinical applications.
文摘Objective:To observe the effect of point injection at Zusanli(ST36)plus abdominal point application on gastrointestinal dysfunction after laparoscopic surgery. Methods:A total of 204 patients with gastrointestinal dysfunction after laparoscopic surgery were recruited and divided into four groups using the random number table method, with 51 cases in each group. The control group received conventional postoperative intervention. In addition to the treatment in the control group, the point injection group was given point injection at Zusanli(ST36),the application group was offered abdominal point application, and the integrated group received point injection at Zusanli(ST36)and abdominal point application. The treatment lasted 3 consecutive days in all four groups. The recovery time of gastrointestinal function indicators and the incidence rate of postoperative nausea and vomiting(PONV)were observed and recorded. Before and after treatment, the visual analog scale(VAS)was used to assess abdominal pain intensity, the venous blood type 1 helper T cells/type 2 helper T cells(Th1/Th2)was determined, the serum levels of interleukin(IL)-6 and interferon(IFN)-γwere detected using the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, and the plasma levels of motilin and gastrin were measured using radioimmunoassay. Results:Compared to the control group, the first exhaust time, the first defecation time, and the time of restoring fluid diet came earlier in the other three groups(P<0.05)and were earlier in the integrated group than in the point injection and application groups(P<0.05).The point injection, application, and integrated groups had a lower PONV incidence rate than the control group, and the integrated group was lower than the point injection and application groups(P<0.05).The intra-group comparisons showed that the VAS score and the levels of IL-6 and INF-γdecreased after treatment in all four groups(P<0.05);the point injection, application, and integrated groups were lower than the control group(P<0.05),and the integrated group was lower than the point injection and application groups(P<0.05).The intra-group comparisons also demonstrated that the levels of Th1/Th2,motilin,and gastrin increased after the intervention in the four groups(P<0.05);the point injection, application, and integrated groups were higher than the control group(P<0.05),and the integrated group was higher than the point injection and application groups(P<0.05).Conclusion:Point injection at Zusanli(ST36)plus abdominal point application can encourage postoperative exhaust, defecation, and the recovery of diet fluid, alleviate postoperative abdominal pain, reduce PONV,balance Th1/Th2,and regulate the secretion of motilin and gastrin in patients with gastrointestinal dysfunction after laparoscopic surgery.

文摘The success of robot-assisted pelvic fracture reduction surgery heavily relies on the accuracy of 3D/3D feature-based registration. This process involves extracting anatomical feature points from pre-operative 3D images which can be challenging because of the complex and variable structure of the pelvis.PointMLP_RegNet,a modified PointMLP,was introduced to address this issue. It retains the feature extraction module of PointMLP but replaces the classification layer with a regression layer to predict the coordinates of feature points instead of conducting regular classification.A flowchart for an automatic feature points extraction method was presented, and a series of experiments was conducted on a clinical pelvic dataset to confirm the accuracy and effectiveness of the method.PointMLP_RegNet extracted feature points more accurately, with 8 out of 10 points showing less than 4 mm errors and the remaining two less than 5 mm.Compared to PointNettt and PointNet,it exhibited higher accuracy, robustness and space efficiency. The proposed method will improve the accuracy of anatomical feature points extraction, enhance intra-operative registration precision and facilitate the widespread clinical application of robot-assisted pelvic fracture reduction.

文摘Our research began with a consideration of the etymological origins of the terms Ashi and the Ashi point. The two concepts have been described in different languages primarily due to cultural differences.
