For comparison, the removal efficiencies under the conditions without or with ACI technology were both evaluated. It was found that the polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins and dibenzofuran(PCDD/F) removal efficiency for total international toxic equivalence quantity(I-TEQ) concentration was improved from 91.61% to 97.36% when ACI was employed, revealing that ACI was very conducive to further controlling the PCDD/F emissions. Detailed congener distributions of PCDD/Fs in the gas-phase and particle-phase of the Inlet and Outlet samples were determined. Additionally, the PCDD/F distribution for the Fly ash-with ACI sample of was also studied.展开更多

Utilize the waste discharged from power plant ash and combined with the actual situation of surrounding land environment, implement the scientific plan of combining ash storage with comprehensive treatment of waste ditch. In this paper, through the comprehensive treatment of Kulvetugou Valley in Tuoketuo County, such as ash filling, covering soil, afforestation and grass planting, the ecological environment of Kulvetugou Valley has been significantly improved, and it provides a strong guarantee for the safe production of Kulvetugou Power Plant. After the improvement, the topography of the small watershed in Kulvetugou is complete and covered with vegetation, which can greatly improve the local natural environment, strengthen the rainwater conservation capacity of the wasteland and lay a good foundation for the future ecological science and technology agriculture.展开更多
Wound healing has always been a focal point in medicine and fabrication of biomaterials.Nanofibers made from polylactic acid(PLA)promote wound healing and possess antibacterial properties.However,the acidic byproducts...Wound healing has always been a focal point in medicine and fabrication of biomaterials.Nanofibers made from polylactic acid(PLA)promote wound healing and possess antibacterial properties.However,the acidic byproducts of PLA can hinder the wound-healing process.Plant ash,being mildly alkaline,has the potential to neutralize these acidic compounds.A nanofiber film combining PLA and plant ash can create a neutral environment conducive to cell growth.Additionally,the growth-promoting components of plant ash can further accelerate wound healing.In this study,we combined PLA with plant ash and electrospun the mixture into nanofibers,ultimately developing a pHregulating wound dressing.We prepared a mixed emulsion containing grass and wood ash,PLA powder,and a polymer surfactant to fabricate the dressing.The emulsion was then frozen to reduce the solubility of the solvent,facilitating the precipitation of the plant ash/PLA mixture.Subsequently,nanofibers were produced from the precipitated powder through electrospinning,which were employed to create the wound dressing.We evaluated the degradation of the dressing in normal saline and monitored the pH changes over two weeks.The pH remained stable at 7-8,indicating a neutral to mildly alkaline state.This result confirms an optimal environment for wound healing.展开更多
Objective:To determine the chemical constituents of the traditional vegetal salts and find out if they are safe to consume.Methods:Seven different salts have been obtained from three provinces,of which five belong to ...Objective:To determine the chemical constituents of the traditional vegetal salts and find out if they are safe to consume.Methods:Seven different salts have been obtained from three provinces,of which five belong to Morobe Province.The cations were determined using inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectroscopy and anions using titrimetry,gravimetry and spectrophotometry.Others like solubility,electrical conductivity,pH,antimicrobial,Fourier transform infrared spectral and volatility studies have been carried out for these salts.Results:While few salts were found to be stable,others were deliquescent;and the colour varies from white to black through yellow and brown.It was found that the potassium ion was dominant while others including sodium and calcium were found in lower concentrations.For the first time,certain d-block metal concentrations were measured though most of them were found to be present at very low levels.Other parameters like volatility,solubility,electrical conductivity,antimicrobial and Fourier transform infrared spectral studies were carried out for the first time for these vegetal salts in Papua New Guinea.Conclusions:The salt’s deliquescence could be correlated to the presence of anions like carbonate,bicarbonate and hydroxide which strongly contribute towards it.Similarly,solubility and conductivity of the salts could be correlated well.The salts were found to be harmless for consumption,but for the high potassium content.展开更多
