文摘Toxic heavy metal and metalloid(THMM)contamination poses a major global challenge, threatening human health and sustainable agriculture. The crucial role of the Cytochrome P450(CYP)gene family in plant tolerance to THMMs has been recently highlighted, but there is still a lack of comprehensive understanding, especially in relation to metabolites. This study delved into the identification of CYP genes that are linked to the tolerance mechanisms of plants in response to heavy metal stress. The findings highlight the significant metabolic pathways that contribute to this resilience, using rice and Arabidopsis as exemplars.THMM exposure changed CYP gene expression in plants, and THMM antidotes mitigated its downregulation and that of flavonoid biosynthesis genes.CYP genes involved in THMM responses were predominantly enriched in the pathways associated with flavonoid synthesis, indicating functional adaptations to distinct stresses.Notably, anthocyanin(Ant)accumulation,a type of flavonoid, affected the uptake of various heavy metals in Brassica rapa, with flavonoid biosynthesis-associated genes correlating with Cd or As tolerance and Ant content. These findings highlight the critical importance of flavonoid metabolism and the intricate network of biosynthesis genes in bolstering plant resilience against heavy metal stress. This enhanced understanding paves the way for significant advancements in phytoremediation technologies, offering innovative solutions for soil and water decontamination.

文摘Reactive oxygen species(ROS)act as early messengers in plants exposed to drought, salinity, heat and other environmental challenges.Their timely removal is crucial.Unchecked ROS injure membranes, macromolecules and photosynthetic systems, ultimately curbing growth or causing cell death. While mitochondria possess inhouse antioxidant machinery, how non-mitochondrial systems contribute to mitochondrial redox homeostasis has remained unresolved.Laura F.DiGiovanni et al.demonstrate that peroxisomes directly protect mitochondria through contact-mediated ROS shuttling. This discovery extends the concept of organelle crosstalk beyond metabolic exchange to contact-mediated ROS flux, adding a system-level buffer against oxidative stress.Deep understanding and regulation of this pathway are highly significant for exploring how ROS coordinate plant stress responses, enhancing crop stress resistance and reducing extreme environment-induced oxidative damage. This may provide breeders and agronomists with a novel approach to develop stress-resistant traits.

文摘SalicS1 is a genetically encoded, ratiometric FRET biosensor that brings salicylic acid(SA)research to the same real-time imaging standard long available for ABA and GA.Built through a modular Golden Gate platform and informed by NPR-NIMIN structural biology,SalicS1 achieves SA specificity, tunable affinity, reversibility, and non-perturbing expression in Arabidopsis.Using this sensor, pathogen infection,non-adapted fungal challenge, and aphid feeding are shown to elicit spatially propagating SA surges rather than purely local accumulation, revealing a tissue-level organization of immune signaling that bulk assays could not resolve.SalicS1 therefore provides a broadly deployable tool for dissecting the geometry, timing, and genotype dependence of SA-mediated plant defense.

文摘Virtual power plant(VPP)integrates a variety of distributed renewable energy and energy storage to participate in electricity market transactions, promote the consumption of renewable energy, and improve economic efficiency. In this paper, aiming at the uncertainty of distributed wind power and photovoltaic output, considering the coupling relationship between power, carbon trading, and green cardmarket, the optimal operationmodel and bidding scheme of VPP in spot market, carbon trading market, and green card market are established. On this basis, through the Shapley value and independent risk contribution theory in cooperative game theory, the quantitative analysis of the total income and risk contribution of various distributed resources in the virtual power plant is realized. Moreover, the scheduling strategies of virtual power plants under different risk preferences are systematically compared, and the feasibility and accuracy of the combination of Shapley value and independent risk contribution theory in ensuring fair income distribution and reasonable risk assessment are emphasized.A comprehensive solution for virtual power plants in the multi-market environment is constructed, which integrates operation strategy, income distribution mechanism, and risk control system into a unified analysis framework.Through the simulation of multi-scenario examples, the CPLEXsolver inMATLAB software is used to optimize themodel. The proposed joint optimization scheme can increase the profit of VPP participating in carbon trading and green certificate market by 29%.The total revenue of distributed resources managed by VPP is 9%higher than that of individual participation.
文摘Arid and semi-arid ecosystems are prone to extensive fires due to specific climatic conditions, sparse vegetation cover, and high density of fine fuels.Understanding the flammability characteristics of land covers is essential for fire management and designing land restoration programs in arid and semi-arid ecosystems. This study provided a new approach to evaluate the flammability of shrublands and woodlands using flammability indices(FIs)including time to ignition(TI),duration of combustion(DC),and flame height(FH)of plant species and their relative frequencies in the Dalfard Basin of southeastern Iran. The results showed that there was a significant difference in FIs between land covers.Shrublands had higher flammability potential compared with woodlands.Plant moisture content had a negative relationship with TI(P<0.010)and no significant relationship with DC and FH(P>0.050).Artemisia spp.,Astragalus gossypinus Fischer,Amygdalus scoparia Spach, and Cymbopogon jwarancusa(Jones)Schult.had the highest FI.Tree species such as Rhazya stricta Decne.,and Pistacia atlantica Desf.showed greater resistance to fire.Using principal component analysis, the relationship between species and FIs was examined, and TI of wet fuel was the most important FI in relation to species.Structural equation model showed that life form(P<0.001)was the most important flammability driver.Precipitation(P<0.010)and legume species(P<0.010)were significantly related to the flammability in arid land. This study emphasizes the importance of managing high-risk species and using resistant species in vegetation restoration and shows that combining species FIs with their abundance is an effective tool for assessing fire risk and fuel management at the plant community scale.

文摘This paper suggests a way to improve teamwork and reduce uncertainties in operations by using a game theory approach involving multiple virtual power plants(VPP).A generalized credibility-based fuzzy chance constraint programming approach is adopted to address uncertainties stemming from renewable generation and load demand within individual VPPs,while robust optimization techniques manage electricity and thermal price volatilities.Building upon this foundation,a hierarchical Nash-Stackelberg game model is established across multiple VPPs.Within each VPP,a Stackelberg game resolves the strategic interaction between the operator and photovoltaic prosumers(PVP).Among VPPs,a cooperative Nash bargaining model coordinates alliance formation. The problem is decomposed into two subproblems:maximizing coalitional benefits, and allocating cooperative surpluses via payment bargaining, solved distributively using the alternating direction method of multipliers(ADMM).Case studies demonstrate that the proposed strategy significantly enhances the economic efficiency and uncertainty resilience of multi-VPP alliances.

文摘Rapidly improving infertile croplands and enhancing their soil organic carbon(SOC)pool necessitate substantial organic materials incorporation.Converting loose crop straw into granulated form facilitates uniform incorporation within the plough soil layer. As an innovative soil amelioration approach, the efficiency and patterns of SOC accumulation remain unclear. Two field experiments were conducted in infertile subtropical upland and paddy soils with 0,30,60,and 90 Mg ha^(-1)granulated straw incorporation. After one year,SOC accumulation efficiency from straw input remained stable in upland(30.8–37.5%)with increasing amounts of straw incorporation, while declined from 60.0 to 38.3%in paddy. In both croplands, the contributions of lignin phenols to SOC increased with increasing straw incorporation, while the contributions from amino sugars remained constant at higher straw input levels.Subsequently, the ratios of lignin phenols to amino sugars increased with increasing straw incorporation, indicating faster plant residue accumulation compared to microbial necromass,as the granulation approach limited microbial involvement in straw transformation.Thus,single-time incorporation of substantial granulated straw presents an effective agricultural strategy for rapid amelioration of infertile croplands.

文摘Triacylglycerol(TAG)components in human milk, infant formulas with different fat sources, and plant oils(palm oil, flaxseed oil, sunflower oil, corn oil, soybean oil, coconut oil,low erucic acid rapeseed oil,and high oleic acid rapeseed oil)were analyzed and compared using ultraperformance supercritical fluid chromatography coupled with quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry(UPSFC-Q-TOF-MS).Distinct TAG profiles were identified by lipidomics, principal component analysis(PCA),and heatmap visualization.Human milk was characterized by a high abundance of medium-and long-chain triacylglycerols(MLCTs),saturated-unsaturated-unsaturated(SUU)-type TAGs(sn-2 palmitic acid). In contrast, plant oils lacked MLCTs and SUU-type TAGs,containing mainly TAGs esterified long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acid.Breast milk contains about 27%MLCT,about 50%SUU-type triacylglycerols(which contain about 34%UPU-type triacylglycerols),which is significantly different from plant oils, structured fats and infant formulas. These findings provide a clear basis for optimizing the fat blend in infant formula to better mimic the unique TAG profile of human milk, thereby improving energy delivery and nutrient absorption for infants.

文摘Tea plant(Camellia sinensis(L.)O.Kuntze)is a cold-sensitive leaf-harvesting crop whose growth, yield, and processed tea quality are all inhibited by low temperatures. Therefore, identifying the regulatory genes involved in tea plant growth and freezing tolerance is crucial for genetic improvement.WRKY transcription factors regulate various plant processes, including growth and development, stress responses, and metabolite biosynthesis. However, the molecular network through which WRKY coordinates these pathways in tea plants remains unclear. In this study,we revealed that CsWRKY57L,a cold-inducible WRKY IIc subfamily member, positively regulated freezing tolerance by directly promoting flavonoid accumulation in tea plants.Transient suppression of CsWRKY57L weakened the freezing tolerance of tea plants by reducing flavonoid content and suppressing the C-repeat-binding factor(CBF)-cold-responsive(COR)gene pathway. In contrast, heterologous overexpression of CsWRKY57L in Arabidopsis had the opposite effect.Additionally, overexpression of CsWRKY57L inhibited reproductive development and accelerated senescence in Arabidopsis.Interaction analysis revealed that CsWRKY57L directly binds to the promoters of CsSWEET1a,CsSWEET15,and AtSWEET15,which encode sugar transporters essential for plant reproductive development, and inhibits their transcription.Overall, the study revealed a dual role of CsWRKY57L in promoting freezing tolerance via flavonoid biosynthesis and inhibiting reproductive development by regulating SWEETs expression. This study uncovers a novel mechanism whereby CsWRKY57L coordinately regulates both stress responses and growth in tea plants, providing a molecular basis for breeding low-temperature-tolerant varieties with restricted reproductive development.
文摘The main purpose of using geothermal energy piles(GEPs)is to enable the exploitation of geothermal energy for meeting the heating/cooling demands of buildings efficiently. However, the installation process of conventional GEPs is inconvenient compared with that of traditional foundation piles. The pre-bored grouted planted geothermal energy pile(PGP GEP)is an innovative technology to simplify the installation process. Most investigations of in-situ experiments for conventional GEPs have focused on summer conditions. An in-situ test for a PGP GEP was conducted to analyze the temperature changes and thermo-mechanical characteristics under winter conditions. The results show that the average temperature of the pile decreased by 5.1℃,and the pile exhibited a general trend of high temperatures at both ends and low temperatures in the middle. In mechanics, strong pile end restraints resulted in smaller observed axial strain and higher axial thermal-induced force in the pile ends than at the middle of the pile.
