Vegetation in sacred and cult places is among the useful forests and trees, but their characteristics are not well-documented. It’s necessary to assess the potential of biodiversity conservation in sacred and cult places. This research aimed to enhance knowledge of the woody diversity in cult places in Ziguinchor. To achieve this, woody vegetation surveys were conducted to determine floristic composition and, diversity and structural parameters of woody vegetation. A total of 89 species belonging to 71 genera and 33 families were recorded, Fabaceae and Moraceae dominated in cemeteries and parishes, while Arecaceae and Euphorbiaceae were prevalent in mosques. Tree diversity varied according to cult places. Parishes recorded significatively higher diversity (2.2 ± 0.18) than cemeteries (1.59 ± 0.13) and mosques (1.07 ± 0.36). Cult places inflenced significatly the structural parameters. Tree density was higher in cemeteries (482.26 ± 302.71 indiv/ha) compared to parishes (197.61 ± 67.14 indiv/ha) and mosques (32.34 ± 4.89 indiv/ha). Mosques were characterized by higher canopy cover (25.43 ± 11.65 m2/ha), larger (83.72 ± 20.09 cm) and taller (16.28 ± 1.28 m) trees. Natural regeneration was also strongest in cemeteries (91.69% ± 3.715%), followed by parishes (62.22% ± 8.56%) and mosques (38.82% ± 14.5%). The cult places play an important ecological role in biodiversity conservation in urban and peri-urban areas.展开更多

In the Visual Place Recognition(VPR)task,existing research has leveraged large-scale pre-trained models to improve the performance of place recognition.However,when there are significant environmental differences betw...In the Visual Place Recognition(VPR)task,existing research has leveraged large-scale pre-trained models to improve the performance of place recognition.However,when there are significant environmental differences between query images and reference images,a large number of ineffective local features will interfere with the extraction of key landmark features,leading to the retrieval of visually similar but geographically different images.To address this perceptual aliasing problem caused by environmental condition changes,we propose a novel Visual Place Recognition method with Cross-Environment Robust Feature Enhancement(CerfeVPR).This method uses the GAN network to generate similar images of the original images under different environmental conditions,thereby enhancing the learning of robust features of the original images.This enables the global descriptor to effectively ignore appearance changes caused by environmental factors such as seasons and lighting,showing better place recognition accuracy than other methods.Meanwhile,we introduce a large kernel convolution adapter to fine tune the pre-trained model,obtaining a better image feature representation for subsequent robust feature learning.Then,we process the information of different local regions in the general features through a 3-layer pyramid scene parsing network and fuse it with a tag that retains global information to construct a multi-dimensional image feature representation.Based on this,we use the fused features of similar images to drive the robust feature learning of the original images and complete the feature matching between query images and retrieved images.Experiments on multiple commonly used datasets show that our method exhibits excellent performance.On average,CerfeVPR achieves the highest results,with all Recall@N values exceeding 90%.In particular,on the highly challenging Nordland dataset,the R@1 metric is improved by 4.6%,significantly outperforming other methods,which fully verifies the superiority of CerfeVPR in visual place recognition under complex environments.展开更多
Current gas well decline analysis under boundary-dominated flow(BDF)is largely based on the Arps'empirical hyperbolic decline model and the analytical type curve tools associated with pseudo-functions.Due to the n...Current gas well decline analysis under boundary-dominated flow(BDF)is largely based on the Arps'empirical hyperbolic decline model and the analytical type curve tools associated with pseudo-functions.Due to the nonlinear flow behavior of natural gas,these analysis methods generally require iterative calculations.In this study,the dimensionless gas rate(qg/qgi)is introduced,and an explicit method to determine the average reservoir pressure and the original gas in place(OGIP)for a volumetric gas reservoir is proposed.We show that the dimensionless gas rate in the BDF is only the function of the gas PVT parameters and reservoir pressure.Step-by-step analysis procedures are presented that enable explicit and straightforward estimation of average reservoir pressure and OGIP by straight-line analysis.Compared with current techniques,this methodology avoids the iterative calculation of pseudo-time and pseudo-pressure functions,lowers the multiplicity of type curve analysis,and is applicable in different production situations(constant/variable gas flow rate,constant/variable bottom-hole pressure)with a broad range of applications and ease of use.Reservoir numerical simulation and field examples are thoroughly discussed to highlight the capabilities of the proposed approach.展开更多
Visual Place Recognition(VPR)technology aims to use visual information to judge the location of agents,which plays an irreplaceable role in tasks such as loop closure detection and relocation.It is well known that pre...Visual Place Recognition(VPR)technology aims to use visual information to judge the location of agents,which plays an irreplaceable role in tasks such as loop closure detection and relocation.It is well known that previous VPR algorithms emphasize the extraction and integration of general image features,while ignoring the mining of salient features that play a key role in the discrimination of VPR tasks.To this end,this paper proposes a Domain-invariant Information Extraction and Optimization Network(DIEONet)for VPR.The core of the algorithm is a newly designed Domain-invariant Information Mining Module(DIMM)and a Multi-sample Joint Triplet Loss(MJT Loss).Specifically,DIMM incorporates the interdependence between different spatial regions of the feature map in the cascaded convolutional unit group,which enhances the model’s attention to the domain-invariant static object class.MJT Loss introduces the“joint processing of multiple samples”mechanism into the original triplet loss,and adds a new distance constraint term for“positive and negative”samples,so that the model can avoid falling into local optimum during training.We demonstrate the effectiveness of our algorithm by conducting extensive experiments on several authoritative benchmarks.In particular,the proposed method achieves the best performance on the TokyoTM dataset with a Recall@1 metric of 92.89%.展开更多
The place and placeness are believed to be a crucial perspective for comprehending the transformative dynamics of tourist destinations in the context of globalization and the rapid development of the tourism industry....The place and placeness are believed to be a crucial perspective for comprehending the transformative dynamics of tourist destinations in the context of globalization and the rapid development of the tourism industry.As the material carrier of language,linguistic landscape is an intermediary for people to endow emotions and personalities into the place,becoming an effective path for exploring the place-making in a certain area.Mogan Mountain is a famous national tourist resort,which is located in Mogan Mountain Town,Deqing County,Huzhou City,China.This is a good case area for studying the relationship between linguistic landscape and placemaking in tourist destinations.There are two theories that form the theoretical foundation of the study,namely the place and the geosemiotics.Firstly,the results showed the overall style of the linguistic landscape.Multilingual labelling(52.7%),official signs(55.3%),and standardized Chinese characters predominantly shaped the linguistic landscape,with English and other languages being complementary.Secondly,from the perspective of three dimensions of the geosemiotics framework,such as inscription,language preference,and placement position,we conduct a comprehensive semiotic analysis of the linguistic landscape,which encompasses diverse facets such as fonts,materials,shifts in state,text vectors,and symmetrical arrangements.Finally,we explore the influence of linguistic landscapes on the place-making of Mogan Mountain through the dimensions of location,locale,and sense of place.The information on linguistic landscapes indicates the geographical location.These linguistic landscapes play an important role in constructing the language order,nostalgic atmosphere,exotic atmosphere,and elegant and tasteful lifestyle of the public space in Mogan Mountain.Readers of linguistic landscapes,including tourists and residents,generate and identify with the unique sense of place in Mogan Mountain.These linguistic landscapes construct the destination placeness of Mogan Mountain that combines both foreign and nostalgic styles,and the integration of Chinese and Western cultures.It will help promote the image positioning of tourism destinations and have practical guiding significance for the tourism planning,landscape-making,language management,and other aspects of tourism destinations.展开更多

Land tenure security is pertinent to achieving the sustainable development agenda in cities where land is needed and useful for development purposes.Sufficient empirical research has been done to prove the importance ...Land tenure security is pertinent to achieving the sustainable development agenda in cities where land is needed and useful for development purposes.Sufficient empirical research has been done to prove the importance of tenure security for investment,resilience,conservation,food security,as well as health and well-being,but it has not been clarified if and how land tenure security could adequately influence place loyalty and satisfaction with the residential environment,as it is clear that place loyalty and satisfaction are pertinent to inclusive development.Using the case of Ibadan City,the study examined how different dimensions of tenure security could determine residents’place loyalty and satisfaction.The study employed a survey cross-sectional research design to distribute 514 structured questionnaires to household heads across 4 sampled peri-urban local government areas while 452 were retrieved for analysis.Hierarchical regression analysis model was employed to understand the association between tenure security dimensions and satisfaction(as model I)and loyalty(as model II).For model I,F=8.640,P=0.000,R=0.555,and R^(2)=0.308 were obtained;while for model II,F=9.157,P=0.001,R=0.415,and R^(2)=0.173 were acquired.This thus means that residents’place loyalty and satisfaction can partly be explained by tenure security.In particular,respondents with no eviction experience,recognized property rights,and invulnerable to eviction have higher odds of being satisfied and loyal.Therefore,we recommend protection,improvement,and upgrading of land tenure security as one of the means to promote place loyalty and satisfaction,which is essential to achieving inclusive and sustainable development.展开更多

文摘Within the past decade,advances in medical technology,the desires and complex care needs of an ageing population,and innovative care delivery models have initiated a shift from providing care in hospitals to outpatient settings.And more recently,the acceleration and amplification of these factors is pushing healthcare options even further from the traditional inpatient and outpatient settings towards acute and subacute care in the home.This has led the medical community to look toward providing more tools and methods of care that patients can access safely right from home and the designers to think as the homes of the future will be flexible to support both an array of devices to provide a healthcare delivery and the humanization and personalization of the domestic space.In light of the changing housing demand aimed at a predominantly elderly population,and awareness of the strong impact that aging of the population has on care,on the costs of health services,on the lives of the elderly and on the maintenance of their conditions of independence,and the most recent investments of the National Plan for Resilience and Recovery to relocate care from hospitals to local structures and even to homes themselves,the paper investigates the issue of the adaptability of the home to the needs of elderly people and to the different care conditions to encourage aging in place.
文摘In the novel“A Clean,Well-lighted Place”,Hemingway tells the story of two waiters in a Spanish caféjust before closing time,talking about an old man who drank heavily in the caféevery night and lived a wealthy life but still wants to commit suicide.Using the iceberg principle,Hemingway purposely omits the plot,characterization of the story,and uses symbolism and repetition to describe people’s different attitudes facing the spiritual emptiness after the war,breaking the readers’expectations,and inspiring them to explore the meaning of individual life.Therefore,based on Wolfgang Iser and Zhu Liyuan’s appealing structure theory,this paper will analyze the appealing structure in“A Clean,Well-lighted Place”at three levels:meaning construction,rhetorical techniques,and thoughts and themes.It is hoped that readers can find a new way to interpret the short story,better understand the author’s creative ideas and dig deeper into the connotation of the work.
文摘Based on the research background of Pingyao ancient city and its ancient residential buildings, combined with architecture and space research, folk culture and sociology research, visual design and other related theoretical research as theoretical basis, this paper studies the unique place space experience and place spirit expression of Pingyao ancient city through theoretical analysis. This paper analyzes from the perspective of space theory, from the regional culture, the relationship between people and places, extending to the shaping of visual environment, architectural decoration elements and means, etc., and explains it with the help of relevant theoretical basis. At different specific levels, the expression of humanization, rationality, applicability and humanistic value of ancient city space is introduced from the spirit of place, and it is used as the basic theoretical basis and theoretical guidance of related theoretical research, which makes the research process tend to be possible, realistic and operable.

文摘This paper brings forward the concept of stability of the spatial structure of urban agglomeration(UA)based on Central Place Theory by introducing centrality index and fractal theory.Before assessment,K=4 is selected as parameter to calculate centrality index and fractal dimension(K represents the quantitive relationship between city and the counties in Central Place Theory),and then found the number of nodes,the type of spatial structure,the spatial allocation of nodes with different hierarchy affecting the stability of spatial structure.According to spatial contact direction and the level of stability,UAs in China are classified into five types.Finally,it is posed as a further question that how to use hierarchical relation K=6 and K=7 in central place system to coordinate with the assessment of stability of soatial structure is brought forward.

文摘An algorithm named DPP is addressed.In it,a new model based on the concept of irregularity degree is founded to evaluate the regularity of cells.It generates the structure regularity of cells by exploiting the signal flow of circuit.Then,it converts the bit slice structure to parallel constraints to enable Q place algorithm.The design flow and the main algorithms are introduced.Finally,the satisfied experimental result of the tool compared with the Cadence placement tool SE is discussed.

文摘The paper had illustrated current status of Chinese temple gardens and background of Wenshu Temple in Chengdu City,analyzed that landscape spatial pattern of Wenshu Temple was characterized by introverted enclosed quadrangle courtyard including religious activity zone,life activities zone and garden rest zone.It also discussed the influences of artistic conception of Zen on spirit of place of landscape space in the perspectives of Zen architectural factors,introverted national culture,religious color of architectural space,and cultural landscape.It had proposed that there existed imperfections in later management of greening and landscaping in Wenshu Temple,and some problems such as enclosed space and isolated space from surrounding historical and cultural carrier.It pointed out that landscape perseverance was a long process and it should not restrict to protection of internal environment of carrier space but should enhance restoration of external part and relevant parts to display cultural and economic value of historical and cultural carrier.

文摘Land tenure security is pertinent to achieving the sustainable development agenda in cities where land is needed and useful for development purposes.Sufficient empirical research has been done to prove the importance of tenure security for investment,resilience,conservation,food security,as well as health and well-being,but it has not been clarified if and how land tenure security could adequately influence place loyalty and satisfaction with the residential environment,as it is clear that place loyalty and satisfaction are pertinent to inclusive development.Using the case of Ibadan City,the study examined how different dimensions of tenure security could determine residents’place loyalty and satisfaction.The study employed a survey cross-sectional research design to distribute 514 structured questionnaires to household heads across 4 sampled peri-urban local government areas while 452 were retrieved for analysis.Hierarchical regression analysis model was employed to understand the association between tenure security dimensions and satisfaction(as model I)and loyalty(as model II).For model I,F=8.640,P=0.000,R=0.555,and R^(2)=0.308 were obtained;while for model II,F=9.157,P=0.001,R=0.415,and R^(2)=0.173 were acquired.This thus means that residents’place loyalty and satisfaction can partly be explained by tenure security.In particular,respondents with no eviction experience,recognized property rights,and invulnerable to eviction have higher odds of being satisfied and loyal.Therefore,we recommend protection,improvement,and upgrading of land tenure security as one of the means to promote place loyalty and satisfaction,which is essential to achieving inclusive and sustainable development.
