The study showed the results of a survey of 300 farmers which was organized to assess awareness level of farmers regarding crop insurance, factors affecting the awareness level among farmers and the perception of farmers about crop insurance. Based on exploratory research work upon the responses of farmers, the average and standard deviation were calculated. Probit model was applied to explore the factors affecting the awareness level of farmers. SPSS was used for the analysis of the collected data. The results revealed that out of 300 farmers, 184 farmers were aware with crop insurance and rests of the 116 farmers were not aware. Banks and E-media were found to be the two most important sources of the awareness for the respondent farmers. In the study area, the climatic risks were reported as the most severe risks faced by the farmers. The results also revealed the existence of negative perceptions of the farmers about crop insurance i.e. farmers perceived crop insurance as a kind of tax and they believed premium was so high that it was out of range of poor farmers and only large scale farmers could afford it. Results obtained by applying Probit model revealed that "education" and "previously availed agricultural credit" were the two most important factors which affected the awareness of the farmers regarding crop insurance.展开更多

They all answered questionnaires about the risk dimensions and acceptance for medical practices. Results: An exploratory factor analysis on participants' answers to various dimensions of risk yielded a two-factor structure for risk perception in both samples: for nurses, the factors were"Unknown"and"Dread,"while for students, they were"Dread"and"Lack of Independence."For both nurses and stu-dents, the factor scores of Dread negatively related to individual risk acceptance of medical practices. Furthermore, nurses tended to be more accepting of practices that they knew well (i.e., low Unknown scale scores). For students, the subscale scores of the Lack of Independence factor negatively related to individual risk acceptance only for health examination practices. Nurses conceived risks more correctly and concretely compared to students. This was especially pronounced for practices related to medication use. Conclusions: Although both nurses and students conceived various risk contents from medical practices, their conceptions still differed. Knowledge of these differences in the structure of risk perception and conceived risk contents of various medical practices between nurses and students could be utilized to improve risk communication in clinical practice.展开更多

Method: By means of pairwise comparisons of assessed risks associated with tobacco, alcohol, obesity, fast-food, physical inactivity, and lack of sleep, each at four levels, 24 behaviors were ranked on a unidimensional risk scale. Results: Overall, use of tobacco was assigned the highest risk score (3.7), consumption of fast-food and lack of sleep the lowest (1.7, 1.6). Minor risk factors (lack of sleep and fast-food) were, at their highest levels, assigned similar risk values as major risk factors (tobacco, alcohol, obesity) at their lowest levels. Lifestyles of female participants were less hazardous than those of male participants, as measured with the LRS. In contrast, perception of behavioral health risks was more precise in men. Conclusions: The LRS provides a practical quantification to identify and compare groups with different risk behavior patterns as well as clusters of risky health behaviors in and across populations. It can also support the communication of behavioral health risks.展开更多

Studies find higher rates of psychological stress, depressive, substance, and anxiety disorders as well as suicidal behaviors, among?some populations after abortion as compared to other reproductive events. Of concern, is that currenttheory and practice which promote abortion to relieve the stress of an unwanted pregnancy do not reflect new evidence. Moreover, the controversy on abortion inhibits research and treatment on its impact on women’s mental health. Thus, clinicians do not identify adverse psychological outcomes to abortion leaving many women untreated. Indeed, this knowledge-practice gap among healthcare providers may be the major reason that the incidence of adverse psychological outcomes after abortion continues to rise. Method: This paper proposes a theoretical understanding of psychological distress after abortion based on new data. A bio-psychosocial framework, including a psychological and biological theory, as well as a conceptual model is presented to explain the development of psychological distress after abortion. A comparison of risk factors?between postpartum and post-abortion disorders is presented. Conclusion: A new theoretical model?of psychological distress after abortion deepens understanding of the range of women’s responses to abortion and promotes evidence based practice. A scientific framework provides a much needed understanding of abortion aftermath as opposed to a political one. 文摘Objectives:Psychological resilience is a critical resource for vocational high school students navigating social biases and fostering mental well-being.This six-month longitudinal study investigated the developmental trajectories of discrimination perception, vocational identity, and psychological resilience in this population. It further examined the longitudinal mediating role of vocational identity in the relationship between discrimination perception and psychological resilience. Methods:A total of 526 students from five vocational high schools in Guangdong,China, were assessed via convenience sampling at two time points:baseline(T1,September 2023)and six-month follow-up(T2,March 2024).Measures of discrimination perception, psychological resilience, and vocational identity were administered.Data were analyzed using a cross-lagged panel model to test for bidirectional relationships. Results:Over the six-month period, students showed significant decreases in discrimination perception and vocational identity, but a significant increase in psychological resilience. The cross-lagged model revealed significant bidirectional relationships:discrimination perception and psychological resilience negatively predicted each other over time(β=−0.124,p<0.01;β=−0.200,p<0.001),while psychological resilience and vocational identity positively predicted each other(β=0.084,p<0.05;β=0.076,p<0.05).The mediation analysis revealed a dual-pathway mechanism.T1 discrimination perception exerted both a significant direct negative effect on T2 psychological resilience(β=−0.332,p<0.001)and a significant indirect positive effect via T1 vocational identity(indirect effect=0.020,95%CI[0.001,0.046]).This confirms a partial mediating role, indicating that vocational identity functions as a compensatory mechanism, transforming the experience of discrimination perception into a potential source of psychological resilience. Conclusions:For vocational high school students, perception of discrimination directly undermines psychological resilience, but also indirectly fosters it through the positive development of vocational identity. These findings highlight vocational identity as a pivotal mechanism in the complex relationship between social adversity and mental resilience.

文摘Objective:To investigate and explore the current status and correlation between psychological status and disease perception of adolescent patients with inflammatory bowel disease. Methods:Adolescent patients hospitalized in a tertiary hospital in Zhejiang Province and some adolescent patients attending the summer camp of Zhejiang Province Aizaiyanchang Foundation for Inflammatory Bowel Disease were selected as the study subjects, and a questionnaire survey was carried out on 148 adolescent patients with inflammatory bowel disease by using the Generalized Anxiety Disorder Scale(GAD-7),Patient Health Questionnaire(PHQ-9),and the Simplified Version of the Disease Perception Questionnaire(BIPQ).questionnaire survey. Results:The depression score of adolescent inflammatory bowel disease patients was(16.40±8.30),the anxiety score was(12.55±5.34),and the total illness perception score was(43.75±10.41).Disease perception of adolescent inflammatory bowel disease patients was at moderate to high level,in which adolescent inflammatory bowel disease patients had the strongest perception of disease control in cognitive dimension as(7.20±0.98)score,followed by strong perception of treatment effect in cognitive dimension as(6.95±2.23)score.According to Pearson correlation analysis it was concluded that their disease perception was positively correlated with anxiety and depression. Conclusion:The psychological condition of adolescent patients with inflammatory bowel disease is poor, and there are significant individual differences in the level of disease perception.Healthcare professionals should provide appropriate knowledge support and psychological interventions according to the different needs of adolescent patients. In addition,an online and offline communication platform should be established to better help adolescent patients with inflammatory bowel disease.
文摘BACKGROUND The intensive care unit(ICU)is a core hospital unit for critically ill patients.A high-intensity treatment environment, frequent invasive procedures, and isolation from family members often lead to severe psychological stress reactions in patients, including anxiety, depression, and posttraumatic stress disorder.Studies have reported that up to 50%of patients in the ICU experience varying degrees of psychological disorders, leading to reduced treatment compliance and exacerbated metabolic disorders through neuroendocrine pathways, thereby negatively affecting prognosis.AIM To investigate the influence of psychological nursing interventions on psychological status and all-cause mortality among patients admitted to the ICU.METHODS Data were obtained from 100 patients with nutritional risk in the ICU of the Central Hospital of Enshi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, admitted from June 2021 to June 2023.They were randomly divided into two groups(n=50 each)based on nursing intervention:Control and study groups. At follow-up,the Zung Self-Rating Anxiety Scale(SAS)and the Self-Rating Depression Scale(SDS)were used.All-cause mortality and time to death were compared between the two groups. The relationship between psychological status and all-cause mortality was assessed using the Cox proportional hazards regression model.RESULTS There were no statistically significant differences in SAS and SDS scores between the two groups before the nursing intervention(P>0.05).However,after the psychological intervention, the SAS and SDS scores of the study group were significantly lower than those of the control group(P<0.05).The all-cause mortality rates in the study and control groups were 20%and 40%,respectively(P<0.05),indicating that psychological nursing interventions can significantly reduce all-cause mortality and improve clinical outcomes.Cox proportional hazards regression analysis revealed that a good psychological state reduced all-cause mortality(P<0.05).Nursing satisfaction in the study group was significantly higher than that in the control group(P<0.05),indicating a high level of recognition of the psychological intervention.CONCLUSION Psychological nursing interventions can effectively reduce the incidence of anxiety and depression in ICU patients with nutritional risk, improve their psychological state, reduce all-cause mortality, and improve their prognoses.

文摘Objective:In order to explore the relationship between COVID-19 risk perception and positive psychological capital in college students, this study investigates the mediating role of psychological resilience and the moderating role of social support. Methods:In this study,586 college students were surveyed by COVID-19 Risk Perception Scale,Positive Psychological Capital Questionnaire,Chinese Version of Resilience Scale and Social Support Scale.Results:(1)There is a significant negative correlation between COVID-19 risk perception and positive psychological capital, that is,COVID-19 risk perception can significantly and negatively predict the positive psychological capital of college students.(2)Psychological resilience plays a mediating role between risk perception and positive psychological capital.(3)Social support plays a weakening role in the negative prediction of risk perception on positive psychological capital.Conclusions:COVID-19 risk perception not only directly reduces positive psychological capital, but also affects positive psychological capital of college students through psychological resilience;social support can adjust the negative impact of risk perception on positive psychological capital. This study reveals the relationship between COVID-19 risk perception and college students’positive psychological capital and its mechanism, which has positive enlightenment significance for improving college students’mental health status and better promoting selfregulation during major public health events.
文摘This study has been conducted in three districts of Punjab Province namely, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajan Pur and Bahawalpur of Pakistan. Results obtained by applying Probit model revealed that "education" and "previously availed agricultural credit" were the two most important factors which affected the awareness of the farmers regarding crop insurance.

文摘Objectives: To determine the risk perceptions of a series of medical practices in non-expert (un-dergraduates) and expert (nurses) samples. Methods: Four hundred and forty-seven nurses and 246 undergraduate students participated in this study. Knowledge of these differences in the structure of risk perception and conceived risk contents of various medical practices between nurses and students could be utilized to improve risk communication in clinical practice.

文摘The increasing impact of disasters at local, national, regional and global scales in recent decades has provided enough evidence to urgently direct attention towards the necessity of disaster risk reduction and management, and this requires knowledge.Knowledge without communication is barren, and to communicate the risk of disaster it is necessary to understand the perception of the people at risk.In particular, this paper deals with the necessity to delineate strategies of risk communication in pursuance of risk knowledge as a core of disaster risk reduction and management, especially in mountain areas of developing countries. To portray this issue,an analysis of landslide risk perception in terms of experience, landslide risk awareness, exposure, preparedness, and risk communication and trust was undertaken in the municipality of Teziutlán,Puebla,Mexico,an area that has been affected for several decades by episodes of mass movement.Analysis of the responses to a risk perception questionnaire has offered valuable insights in terms of the information and knowledge most required by the people living in the area of interest,in order to devise a realistic and functional strategy to communicate the risk of a landslide disaster. This includes better understanding of controlling factorsand drivers of this risk, and the establishment of potential trusted sources of risk communication.Beyond considering practical matters of risk assessment and management, risk perception and communication can increase the resilience of vulnerable people, and can enhance capacity building for present and future generations.
文摘Objective:Correctly understanding and evaluating the level of public risk perception toward public health emergencies not only helps experts and decision-makers understand the public’s preventative health behaviors to these emergencies but also enhances their risk information communication with the public. The aim of this study was to develop a risk perception scale for public health emergencies and test its validity and reliability during the coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)pandemic.Methods:Guided by the theoretical model of risk perception,an initial scale was generated through literature review, group meetings, resident interviews, and expert consultation.A pretest and item screening were then conducted to develop a formal risk perception scale for public health emergencies. Finally, the reliability and validity of the scale were validated through a questionnaire survey of 504 Chinese adults. Results:The final scale had 9 items. The content validity index of the scale was 0.968,and the content validity index of individual items ranged from 0.83 to 1.00.Three common factors, dread risk perception, severe risk perception, and unknown risk perception, were extracted for exploratory factor analysis, and together they explained 66.26%of the variance in the score.Confirmatory factor analysis showed that the model had a satisfactory fit,whereχ^(2)/df=1.384,the goodness-of-fit index(GFI)=0.989,root mean square error of approximation(RMSEA)=0.028,root mean square residual(RMR)=0.018,comparative fit index(CFI)=0.995,normed fit index(NFI)=0.982,and non-normed fit index(NNFI)=0.990.The correlations between dimensions ranged from 0.306 to 0.483(P<0.01).Cronbach’s a was 0.793 for the total scale and ranged between 0.687 and 0.801 for the individual dimensions. The split-half coefficient was 0.861 for the total scale and ranged from 0.727 to 0.856 for induvial dimensions. The test-retest coefficient was 0.846 for the total scale and ranged from 0.843 to 0.868 for induvial dimensions. Conclusion:The developed scale for the risk perception of public health emergencies showed acceptable levels of reliability and validity, suggesting that it is suitable for evaluating residents’risk perception of public health emergencies.

文摘Public participation is crucial in mitigating disasters.Stemming from the ongoing debate on benefit-and risk-driven approaches to landslide mitigation, this study seeks to uncover the factors and underlying mechanisms that affect farmers'willingness to participate in landslide prevention and mitigation(WPLPM).Conducted in Heifangtai,Gansu Province,China, renowned as the"landslide natural laboratory",this research employs multiple linear regression analysis on data from 399 questionnaires to pinpoint the key determinants of farmers'WPLPM.The findings reveal:(1)the"risk perception paradox"exists—farmers have high-risk perception but low WPLPM;(2)the impact of risk perception on WPLPM is tempered by self-efficacy related to fund, learning ability, and operation ability, offering an insight into the"risk perception paradox";and(3)There are significant positive influences of farmers'benefit perception, social network, and perceived responsibility on their WPLPM.Based on these insights, the study offers targeted policy recommendations.
文摘BACKGROUND Parkinson’s disease(PD)is commonly accompanied by neuropsychiatric symptoms, such as anxiety and depression, which can significantly impair patients’cognitive function, social engagement, and quality of life.Psychological resilience has been identified as a critical factor influencing the severity of these emotional disturbances.AIM To explore the relationship between anxiety-depression status and psychological resilience in patients with PD and to identify associated risk factors.METHODS A total of 188 consecutive patients with PD treated at our institution between January 2023 and December 2024 were enrolled.Anxiety was assessed using the Beck Anxiety Inventory(BAI),depressive symptoms were measured with the Geriatric Depression scale(GDS),and psychological resilience was evaluated using the Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale(CD-RISC).Pearson correlation analysis was conducted to examine the relationships among these variables.Furthermore, clinical and sociodemographic characteristics-including gender, age, disease duration, disease severity, comorbidity burden, marital status, gross monthly household income, and educational attainment-were analyzed using univariate analysis and multivariate binary logistic regression to identify the factors influencing psychological resilience.RESULTS The mean BAI score was 22.05±10.52(indicative of moderate anxiety),the mean GDS score was 15.81±5.49(mild depression),and the mean CD-RISC score was 51.03±9.32(moderate resilience).Correlational analysis revealed an inverse relationship between psychological resilience and both anxiety and depression scores, whereas anxiety and depression were positively correlated.Univariate analysis identified disease duration, disease severity, comorbidity burden, gross monthly household income, educational attainment,BAI scores, and GDS scores as variables significantly associated with psychological resilience.Multivariate regression analysis showed that advanced disease stage,a high comorbidity burden, lower gross monthly household income, lower educational attainment, and elevated anxiety and depression scores were independent predictors of reduced psychological resilience.CONCLUSION The findings highlight the prevalence of anxiety and depression among patients with PD and the presence of moderate psychological resilience.Patients with advanced disease stages, multiple comorbidities, lower socioeconomic status, limited education, and higher anxiety and depression scores are particularly vulnerable to diminished psychological resilience.

文摘Aiming at the problems of increasing uncertainty of low-carbon generation energy in active distribution network(ADN)and the difficulty of security assessment of distribution network, this paper proposes a two-phase scheduling model for flexible resources in ADN based on probabilistic risk perception.First,a full-cycle probabilistic trend sequence is constructed based on the source-load historical data, and in the day-ahead scheduling phase, the response interval of the flexibility resources on the load and storage side is optimized based on the probabilistic trend, with the probability of the security boundary as the security constraint, and with the economy as the objective. Then in the intraday phase, the core security and economic operation boundary of theADNis screened in real time.Fromthere,it quantitatively senses the degree of threat to the core security and economic operation boundary under the current source-load prediction information, and identifies the strictly secure and low/high-risk time periods.Flexibility resources within the response interval are dynamically adjusted in real-time by focusing on high-risk periods to cope with future core risks of the distribution grid. Finally, the improved IEEE 33-node distribution system is simulated to obtain the flexibility resource scheduling scheme on the load and storage side.Thescheduling results are evaluated from the perspectives of risk probability and flexible resource utilization efficiency, and the analysis shows that the scheduling model in this paper can promote the consumption of low-carbon energy from wind and photovoltaic sourceswhile reducing the operational risk of the distribution network.
文摘Objective: To develop a lifestyle risk scale (LRS) of health-related behaviors based on risk assessments of study participants. It can also support the communication of behavioral health risks.

文摘Based on survey data from Ji'nan city and some other cities in Shandong province, this paper conducted a research on consumers' perception degree of the food safety risk, and the awareness degree about organic food. Then taking organic milk as an example, the factors affecting the customers' buy willingness to pay for organic milk were analyzed by binary logit model and the willingness to pay was also calculated. The results show that the consumers' food safety risk perception degree is high, and the awareness about organic food is low. The consumers' age, level of education, whether the family has children below 12 years old, whether the family has a man( woman) older than 60years,health situation self-evaluation,organic food cognition and food safety risk perception have significant effect on customers' willingness to pay organic food. According to the calculation, the consumers were willing to pay a price premium of 60% for organic milk above ordinary milk.
文摘BACKGROUND We recently demonstrated that the odds of contracting coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)in patients with celiac disease(CeD)is similar to that of the general population. However, how patients with CeD perceive their COVID-19 risk may differ from their actual risk.AIM To investigate risk perceptions of contracting COVID-19 in patients with CeD and determine the factors that may influence their perception.METHODS We distributed a survey throughout 10 countries between March and June 2020 and collected data on demographics,diet,COVID-19 testing, and risk perceptions of COVID-19 in patients with CeD.Participants were recruited through various celiac associations, clinic visits, and social media.Risk perception was assessed by asking individuals whether they believe patients with CeD are at an increased risk of contracting COVID-19 when compared to the general population.Logistic regression was used to determine the influencing factors associated with COVID-19 risk perception, such as age, sex, adherence to a gluten-free diet(GFD),and comorbidities such as cardiac conditions, respiratory conditions, and diabetes.Data was presented as adjusted odds ratios(aORs)RESULTS A total of 10737 participants with CeD completed the survey. From them,6019(56.1%)patients with CeD perceived they were at a higher risk or were unsure if they were at a higher risk of contracting COVID-19 compared to the non-CeD population.A greater proportion of patients with CeD perceived an increased risk of contracting COVID-19 when compared to infections in general due to their CeD(56.1%vs 26.7%,P<0.0001).Consequently,34.8%reported taking extra COVID-19 precautions as a result of their CeD.Members of celiac associations were less likely to perceive an increased risk of COVID-19 when compared to non-members(49.5%vs 57.4%,P<0.0001).Older age(aOR:0.99;95%CI:0.99 to 0.99,P<0.001),male sex(aOR:0.84;95%CI:0.76 to 0.93,P=0.001),and strict adherence to a GFD(aOR:0.89;95%CI:0.82 to 0.96,P=0.007)were associated with a lower perception of COVID-19 risk and the presence of comorbidities was associated with a higher perception of COVID-19 risk(aOR:1.38;95%CI:1.22 to 1.54,P<0.001).CONCLUSION Overall, high levels of risk perceptions, such as those found in patients with CeD,may increase an individual’s pandemic-related stress and contribute to negative mental health consequences. Therefore,it is encouraged that public health officials maintain consistent communication with the public and healthcare providers with the celiac community.Future studies specifically evaluating mental health in CeD could help determine the consequences of increased risk perceptions in this population.

文摘Objective:Cardiovascular disease(CVD)remains a significant public health challenge in China.Accurateperception of individual CVD risk is crucial for timely intervention and preventive strategies. This studyaimed to determine the alignment between CVD risk perception levels and objectively calculated CVDrisk levels, then investigate the disparity in physical activity and healthy diet habits among distinct CVDrisk perception categories. Methods:From March to August 2022,a cross-sectional survey was conducted in Zhejiang Province usingconvenience sampling.Participants aged between 20 and 80 years, without prior diagnosis of CVD wereincluded.CVD risk perception was evaluated with the Chinese version of the Attitude and Beliefs aboutCardiovascular Disease Risk Perception Questionnaire, while objective CVD risk was assessed through thePrediction for Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease Risk(China-PAR)model.Participants’demographicinformation,self-reported physical activity, and healthy diet score were also collected. Results:A total of 739 participants were included in the final analysis.Less than a third of participants(29.2%)accurately perceived their CVD risk, while 64.5%over-perceived it and 6.2%under-perceived it.Notably, half of the individuals(50.0%)with high CVD risk under-perceived their actual risk.Compared tothe accurate perception group, individuals aged 60e80 years old(OR=6.569),currently drinking(OR=3.059),and with hypertension(OR=2.352)were more likely to under-perceive their CVD risk.Meanwhile, participants aged 40-<60 years old(OR=2.462)and employed(OR=2.352)were morelikely to over-perceive their risk. The proportion of individuals engaging in physical activity was lowest inthe under-perception group, although the difference among the three groups was not statistically significant(χ^(2)=2.556,P=0.278).In addition, the proportion of individuals practicing healthy diet habitswas also lowest in the under-perception group, and a significant statistical difference was observedamong the three groups(χ^(2)=10.310,P=0.006).Conclusion:Only a small proportion of participants accurately perceived their CVD risk, especially amongthose with high actual CVD risk.Individuals in the under-perceived CVD risk group exhibited the lowestrates of physical activity engagement and healthy diet adherence.Healthcare professionals should prioritize implementing personalized CVD risk communication strategies tailored to specific subgroups toenhance the accuracy of risk perception.
文摘Background: Emerging data report 30% of women worldwide who obtain elective abortion experience negative and persistent psychological distress afterward. By providing assistance to clinicians in the identification, screening, and treatment of psychological disorders after abortion, this?thesis aims to close the practice gap, and increase services after abortion to women who need them.
