The results showed that the concentrations of COD in the waters ranged from 0,41 to 2.72 mg·L^-1 with an average of 1.21 mg·L^-1.The spatial distributions showed that COD concentration decreased gradually from the north to south of Pearl River estuary, and the concentration near coastal waters was higher than that in offshore waters. The concentration of COD in summer was higher than in spring. Evaluated by the first class (COD ≤ 2 mg·L^-1) of sea water quality standard (Chinese standard), there were about 15 % of COD concentrations over the standard. The concentration of COD showed a positive correlation with the concentration of suspend substances in spring and summer, but in summer it showed a negative correlation with the concentrations of inorganic nitrate and phosphate.展开更多

The mechanism of PT-T model was analyzed based on Priestley-Taylor ex- tended model, and the result showed that land surface temperature or temperature difference between day and night could be used to evaluate the evapotranspiration factor. The evapotranspiration of 6 forest types was estimated with MODIS data and TM data and weather information during 2008-2009. The result suggested that water consumption of different forest differs insignificantly, and the EF of eucalyptus is not high.展开更多

Six water-soluble ions, Na^+, NH4+, K^+, Cl^-, NO3^- and SO4^2- were measured using ion chromatography. On average, ionic species accounted for 53.3% and 40.5% for PM2.5 and PM10, respectively in winter and 39.4% and 35.2%, respectively in summer. Secondary ions such as sulfate, nitrate and ammonium accounted for the major part of the total ionic species. Sulfate was the most abundant species followed by nitrate. Overall, a regional pollution tendency was shown that there were higher concentrations of sulfate, nitrate and ammonium in Guangzhou City than those in the other PRD cities. Significant seasonal variations were also observed with higher levels of species in winter but lower in summer. The Asian monsoon system was favorable for removal and diffusion of air pollutants in PRD in summer while highly loading of local industrial emissions tended to deteriorate the air quality as well. NO3^-/SO4^2- ratio indicated that mobile sources have considerably contribution to the urban aerosol, and stationary sources should not be neglected. Besides the primary emissions, complex atmospheric reactions under favorable weather conditions should be paid more attention for the control of primary emission in the PRD region.展开更多

To advance our knowledge of atmospheric dry/wet heavy metal deposition in the PRD region, monthly fluxes were examined based on soluble/insoluble fractions of five heavy metal elements(Cu, Pb, Cd, Cr and Zn) in samples collected from January 2014 to December 2015 at Guangzhou(urban) and Dinghushan(suburban) sites. The ratios of wet/dry deposition fluxes indicated that heavy metal deposition was governed by wet deposition rather than dry deposition in the PRD region. Affected by the shifting of the Asian monsoon, wet deposition fluxes exhibited significant seasonal variation between summer monsoon seasons(April to September) and winter monsoon seasons(October to February) in this region. Cd was classified as an extremely strong potential ecological risk based on solubility and the Hakanson ecological risk index. Source contributions to wet deposition were calculated by PMF, suggesting that dust, biomass burning, industries, vehicles, long-range transport and marine aerosol sources in Guangzhou, and Zn fertilizers, marine aerosol sources, agriculture, incense burning, biomass burning, vehicles and the ceramics industry in Dinghushan, were the potential sources of heavy metals.展开更多

The main objective of the present study is to investigate the heavy metal concentrations in edible bivalves and gastropods available in major markets of the Pearl River Delta. Fourteen species of edible molluscs were purchased from six markets in Hong Kong and Guangdong Province. The fresh of these biota were tested for their cadmium (Cd), copper (Cu), zinc (Zn), lead (Pb), nickel (Ni), chromium (Cr), antimony (Sb) and tin (Sn) concentrations (based on wet weight). The results indicated that amongst the 14 edible molluscs, only Cd, Pb, Ni, Cr, Sb and Sn concentrations in three species (Ruditapes philippinarum, Perna viridis and Hemifusus tuba) were within the local regulatory limits. Over 60% of bivalve species exceeded maximum permitted levels of Cd (2 mug/g) and Cr (1 mug/g), while over 40% of gastropod species exceeded the maximum levels of Sb (1 mug/g) and Cr (1 mug/g). Most of the samples collected from Hong Kong had significantly higher contents of Pb and Sb, but similar levels of Cd, Cu and Zn when compared with samples collected across the border ( p < 0.05; p 0.01; p < 0.001 respectively). In general, the molluscs purchased in Guangdong markets had higher metal contents than those purchased from the Hong Kong markets. When compared with the Provisional Tolerable Weekly Intake or Maximum Acceptable Daily Load recommended by FAO/WHO Expert Committee on Food Additives, Cd levels of five species (Anadara ferruginea, Pinna pectinata, Chlamys nobilis, Babylonia lutosa and Hemifusus terntanus) and Cr levels of seven species ( Anadara ferruginea, Paphia undulata, Pinna pectinata, Babylonia lutosa, Hemifusus terntanus, Cymbium melo and Cipangopaludina chinensis) were higher than both the human daily acceptable limits (for Cd and Cr respectively) and the local regulatory levels (for Cd and Cr respectively).展开更多

This paper constructs a "Size-Density-Morphology" urban ecological resilience evaluation system, uses a coupling coordination degree model to measure the degree of coupling coordination between urbanization and ecological resilience in the Pearl River Delta from 2000 to 2015, and conducts an in-depth discussion on its spatiotemporal characteristics. The results show the following.(1) From 2000 to 2015, the urbanization level of cities in the study area generally increased while the level of ecological resilience declined. The coupling coordination degree between the two systems decreased from basic coordination to basic imbalance.(2) In terms of spatial distribution, the coupling coordination degree between urbanization and ecological resilience of cities presented a circular pattern that centered on the cities at the estuary of the Pearl River and increased toward the periphery.(3) Ecological resilience sub-systems played variable roles in the coupling coordination between urbanization and ecological resilience. Specifically, size resilience mainly played a reverse blocking role;the influence of morphology resilience was generally positive and continued to increase over time;the effect of density resilience was positive and continued to decline and further became negative after falling below zero. The main pathways for achieving coordinated and sustainable development of future urbanization and ecological resilience in the Pearl River Delta include: leading the coordinated development of regions with new urbanization, improving ecological resilience by strictly observing the three areas and three lines, adapting to ecological carrying capacity, and rationally arranging urban green spaces.展开更多

The spatial distribution of heavy metals displayed a decreasing pattern from the turbidity maxima to both upstream and downstream of the estuary, which suggested that suspended sediments played an important role in the trace metal distribution in the Pearl River Estuary. In addition, metal concentrations were higher in the west part of the estuary which received most of the pollutants from the Pearl River. In the sediment cores, fluxes of heavy metals were consistent with a predominant anthropogenic input in the period 1970-1990. From the mid-1990s to the 2000s, there was a significant decline in heavy metal pollution. The observed decline has shown the result of pollution control in the Pearl River Delta. However, it is noteworthy that the metal concentrations in the most recent sediment still remained considerably high. Taken together, the enrichment of heavy metals in sediments was largely controlled by anthropogenic pollution.展开更多

Two scenarios of urban maps are used in the WRF-Chem to represent the early 1990s (pre-urbanization) and the current urban distribution in the PRD and the YRD. Month-long simulation results using the above land-use scenarios for March 2001 show that urbanization increases both the day- and night-time 2-m temperatures by about 0.6℃and 1.4℃, respectively. Daytime reduction in the wind speed by about 3.0 m s-1 is larger than that for the nighttime (0.5 to 2 m s-1). The daytime increase in the PBL height (〉 200 m) is also larger than the nighttime (50-100 m). The meteorological conditions modified by urbanization lead to detectable ozone-concentration changes in the PRD and the YRD. Urbanization increases the nighttime surface-ozone concentrations by about 4.7%-8.5% and by about 2.9%-4.2% for the daytime. In addition to modifying individual meteorological variables, urbanization also enhances the convergence zones, especially in the PRD. More importantly, urbanization has different effects on the surface ozone for the PRD and the YRD, presumably due to their urbanization characteristics and geographical locations. Even though the PRD has a smaller increase in the surface temperature than the YRD, it has (a) weaker surface wind speed, (b) smaller increase in PBL heights, and (c) stronger convergence zones. The latter three factors outweighed the temperature increase and resulted in a larger ozone enhancement in the PRD than the YRD.展开更多

This study shows that chlorite cements are one of the most important diagenetic features of reservoir sandstones. The precipitation of chlorite was controlled by multiple factors and its development occurred early in eo-diagenesis and continued till Stage A of middle diagenesis. The precipitation of chlorite at the early stage was mainly affected by the sedimentary environment and provenance. Abundant Fe- and Mg-rich materials were supplied during the deposition of distributary channel sediments in the deltaic front setting and mainly in alkaline conditions. With the burial depth increasing, smectite and kaolinite tended to be transformed into chlorite. Smectite cements were completely transformed into chlorite in sandstones of the studied area. Volcanic lithics rich in Fe and Mg materials were dissolved and released Fe2+ and Mg 2+ into the pore water. These cations precipitated as chlorite cements in middle diagenesis in an alkaline diagenetic environment. Chlorite coatings acted as porosity and permeability, thus helping preserve cements in the chlorite cemented sandstones. The reservoir quality of chlorite cemented sandstones is much better than sandstones without chlorite cements. Chlorite cements play an important role in the reservoir evolution that was mainly characterized by preserving intergranular porosity and forming better pore-throat structures of sandstones.展开更多

The study area is generally in an extensional state during the Cenozoic. The major extension happened in the earlier syn-rift stages before 23 Ma and the extension after 23 Ma is negligible. Two rapid subsidence periods, 32-23 Ma and 5.3-2.6 Ma, are identified, which are related to the abrupt heat decay during margin breakup and the collision between the Philippine Sea plate and the Eurasian plate, respectively. The strongest crustal thinning in the Baiyun (白云) sag may trigger the syn-rift volcanism along the weak faulted belt around the sag. The Cenozoic tectonic evolution of the study area could be divided into five stages: rifting (~50-40 Ma), rift-drift transition (~40-32 Ma), early post-breakup (~32-23 Ma), thermal subsidence (~23-5.3 Ma) and neotectonic movement (~5.3-0 Ma).展开更多

文摘Clarifying the mechanisms that control the evolution of territorial space patterns is essential for regulating and optimizing the geographical structure and processes related to sustainable development.Using the Guangdong and Guangxi sections of the Pearl River Basin as examples, the transfer-matrix method and standard deviation ellipse model were applied to characterize the evolution of territorial space patterns from 1990 to 2020.A trend surface analysis and the Theil index were used to analyze regional differences in the evolution process, and geodetectors were used to identify the underlying mechanisms of the changes. There were three key results.(1)In these critical areas of the Pearl River Basin, agricultural and ecological spaces have rapidly declined due to urban expansion, with transfers between these spaces dominating the evolution of territorial space patterns.Spatial pattern changes in the Guangdong section were more intense than in the Guangxi section.(2)Regional differences in urban space have decreased, whereas differences in agricultural and ecological spaces have intensified.Driven by socio-economic growth, the cross-regional transfers of territorial space have created a“high in the east, while low in the west”inter-regional difference, and a“high in the south, while low in the north”intra-regional difference shaped by natural conditions. The regional differences in space patterns were greater in Guangdong than in Guangxi.(3)The evolution of watershed territorial space patterns resulted from scale changes, locational shifts, structural reorganizations, and directional changes driven by multiple factors.Natural environment, social life, economic development, and policy factors played foundational, leading, key driving, and guiding roles, respectively.Additionally, the regional differences in the evolution of watershed territorial space patterns originated from the differential transmission of the influence of various factors affecting spatial evolution.Enhancing urban space efficiency, restructuring agricultural space, and optimizing ecological space are key strategies for building a complementary and synergistic territorial space pattern in the basin.

文摘Based on the comprehensive analysis of data from petrology and mineralogy, well logging, seismic surveys, paleontology, and geochemistry,a detailed research was conducted on paleoenvironmental and paleoclimatic conditions, and modeling of the source rocks in the second member of the Eocene Wenchang Formation(Wen 2 Member)in the Northern Shunde Subsag at the southwestern margin of the Pearl River Mouth Basin. The Wen 2 Member hosts excellent, thick lacustrine source rocks with strong longitudinal heterogeneity and an average total organic carbon(TOC)content of over 4.9%.The Wen 2 Member can be divided into three units(I,II,III)from bottom to top.Unit I features excellent source rocks with Type I organic matters(average TOC of 5.9%)primarily sourced from lake organisms;Unit II hosts source rocks dominated by Type II2 organic matters(average TOC of 2.2%),which are originated from mixed sources dominated by terrestrial input.Unit III contains good to excellent source rocks dominated by Type II1 organic matters(average TOC of 4.9%),which are mainly contributed by lake organisms and partially by terrestrial input.Under the background of rapid subsidence and limited source supply during intense rifting period in the Eocene, excellent source rocks were developed in Wen 2 Member in the Northern Shunde Subsag under the coordinated control of warm and humid climate, volcanic activity, and deep-water reducing conditions.During the deposition of Unit I,the warm and humid climate and volcanic activity promoted the proliferation of lake algaes, primarily Granodiscus, resulting in high initial productivity, and deep-water reducing conditions enabled satisfactory preservation of organic matters. These factors jointly controlled the development and occurrence of excellent source rocks.During the deposition of Unit II,a transition from warm to cool and semi-arid paleoclimatic conditions led to a decrease in lake algaes and initial productivity.Additionally, enhanced terrestrial input and shallow-water,weakly oxidizing water conditions caused a significant dilution and decomposition of organic matters, degrading the quality of source rocks.During the deposition of Unit III,when the paleoclimatic conditions are cool and humid,Pediastrum and Botryococcus began to thrive, leading to an increase in productivity.Meanwhile, the reducing environment of semi-deep water facilitated the preservation of excellent source rocks, albeit slightly inferior to those in Unit I.The study results clarify the differential origins and development models of various source rocks in the Shunde Sag,offering valuable guidance for evaluating source rocks and selecting petroleum exploration targets in similar marginal sags.

文摘The Pearl River Delta(PRD)region has been identified as a significant hotspot of wet ammonium deposition. However, the absence of long-term monitoring data in the area hinders the comprehension of the historical trends and changes in wet NH_(4)^(+)-N deposition in response to emissions, which interferes with the ability to make effective decisions. This study has analyzed the long-term trends of wet NH_(4)^(+)-N deposition flux and has quantified the effect of anthropogenic emissions and meteorological factors at a typical urban site and a typical forest site in the PRD region from 2009 to 2020.It revealed a significant decreasing trend in wet NH_(4)^(+)-N flux in both the typical urban and forest areas of the PRD region,at-6.2%/year(p<0.001)and-3.3%/year(p<0.001),respectively.Anthropogenic emissions are thought to have contributed 47%–57%of the wet NH_(4)^(+)-N deposition trend over the past 12 years compared to meteorological factors.Meteorological conditions dominated the interannual fluctuations in wet NH_(4)^(+)-N deposition with an absolute contribution of 46%–52%,while anthropogenic emissions change alone explained 10%–31%.NH_(3)emissions have the greatest impact on the urban area among anthropogenic emission factors, while SO_(2)emissions have the greatest impact on the forest area.Additionally, precipitation was identified as the primary meteorological driver for both sites. Our findings also imply that the benefits of NH_(3)emissions reductions might not immediately emerge due to interference from weather-related factors.

文摘The perfection of the cross-border regional innovation system of the Pearl River Delta(PRD)and Hong Kong region remarkably underpins the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area(GBA)towards an international technological innovation hub. This paper focuses on the relational characteristics of the usage of technological innovation functions and elements, including labor force, technology, and producer services from Hong Kong region by high-technology firms in the PRD,and probes into the influencing factors by integrating the objective perspective on the impact of firm-level socioeconomic attributes and subjective perspective on the open interpretations on the reasons by using or not using technological innovation functions and elements from Hong Kong region by various stakeholders in high-technology domains in the PRD.Key research findings are fourfold.First,Hong Kong's technological innovation functions primarily ride on its institutional advantages under the“One Country,Two Systems”framework to empower high-technology firms in the PRD by expanding their international market, international business operation, and financing, but cross-border investment and entrepreneurship has retrieved to a relatively marginalized position. The degree of supply-demand relations of producer services is the highest, followed by labor force and technology.Second,Hong Kong-invested,large-sized,and long-standing high-technology firms in the PRD are more inclined to use technological innovation elements from Hong Kong region, while domestic,small-and-medium-sized,and start-up high-technology firms in the PRD are in turn, gradually unhooked from the supply of technological innovation elements from Hong Kong region.Third,Hong Kong enjoys both advantages and disadvantages in supplying labor forces, technologies, and producer services to high-technology firms in the PRD,with advantages in competitiveness, international linkages and visions, and disadvantages in high cost, lack of more profound mutual understanding between Hong Kong and the PRD,and the imperfect cooperation mechanisms.Fourth, interactions among the transitioning role of Hong Kong region in the macro-level global and national economic development landscape,meso-level cross-border regional specificities under the“One Country,Two Systems”framework, and micro-level heterogeneous practices and capabilities of firms influence the usage of technological innovation functions and elements from Hong Kong region by high-technology firms in the PRD.

文摘Based on a set of high-resolution 3D seismic data from the northern continental margin of the South China Sea,the lithospheric structure, thinning mechanisms and related syn-rift tectonic deformation response processes in the crustal necking zone in the deepwater area of the Pearl River Mouth Basin were systematically analyzed, and the petroleum geological significance was discussed. The necking zone investigated in the study is located in the Baiyun Sag and Kaiping Sag in the deepwater area of the Pearl River Mouth Basin. These areas show extreme crustal thinned geometries of central thinning and flank thickening, characterized by multi-level and multi-dipping detachment fault systems. The necking zone exhibits pronounced lateral heterogeneity in structural architectures, which can be classified into four types of thinned crustal architectures,i.e.the wedge-shaped extremely thinned crustal architecture in the Baiyun Main Sub-sag,dumbbell-shaped moderately thinned crustal architecture in the Baiyun West Sub-sag,box-shaped weakly thinned crustal architecture in eastern Baiyun Sag,and metamorphic core complex weakly thinned crustal architecture in the Kaiping Sag.This shows great variations in the degree and style of crustal thinning, types of detachment faults, distribution of syn-rift sedimentary sequences, and intensity of magmatism. The thinning of the necking zone is controlled by the heterogeneous rheological stratification of lithosphere, intensity of mantle-derived magmatism, and deformation modes of detachment faults. The syn-rift tectonic deformation of the necking zone evolved through three phases,i.e.uniform stretching during the early Wenchang Formation deposition period, necking during the late Wenchang Formation deposition period, and hyperextension during the Enping Formation deposition period. The crustal thinning extent and architectural differentiation in these phases were primarily controlled by three distinct mechanisms,i.e.the pure shear deformation activation of pre-existing thrust faults, the simple shear deformation of crust-mantle and inter-crust detachment faults, and differential coupling of lower crustal flow and ductile domes with main detachment faults. The hydrocarbon accumulation and enrichment in the necking zone exhibit marked spatial heterogeneity.Four distinct crustal thinned architecture-hydrocarbon accumulation models were identified in this study. The hydrocarbon accumulations in the shallow part exhibit significant correlations with their deep crustal thinned architectures. The unique lithospheric structure and deformation process predominantly control the favorable hydrocarbon accumulation zones with excellent source-fault-ridge-sand configurations, which is critical to reservoir-forming.The most promising exploration targets are mainly identified on the uplift zones and their seaward-dipping flanks associated with the middle and lower crustal domes. This research provides additional insights into lithospheric thinning-breakup process at intermediate continental margins of marine sedimentary basins, being significant for guiding the deepwater petroleum exploration in the Pearl River Mouth Basin.

文摘The compositions and distributions of monoterpenes, isoprene, aromatics and sesquiterpene SOA tracers(SOAM,SOAI,SOAA and SOAS,respectively)at an island site(Da Wan Shan Island,DWS)were investigated in the context of the influence of continental and marine air masses over the Pearl River Estuary(PRE)region in winter 2021.The sum concentration of SOA tracers was 6.2–132.8 ng m^(−3),with SOAM and SOAI as the main components in both continental(scenarios A1 and A2)and marine air masses(scenario A3),as well as their combination(scenario A4).The highest and lowest levels of SOAM were observed in A1 and A3,respectively,which were mainly related to the variations in meteorological conditions, precursor concentrations, and the degree of photochemical processes.Higher MBTCA/HGA(3-methyl-1,2,3-butanetricarboxylic acid/3-hydroxyglutaric acid)ratios suggested a less significant contribution fromα-pinene to SOAM.The variations of SOAI in the different scenarios were associated with differences in relative humidity, particle acidity, and isoprene/NOx ratios. The respective highest and lowest concentrations of aromatics SOA tracers in A1 and A3 revealed the influence of anthropogenic precursors from upwind continental areas, which was confirmed by the correlation among biogenic and anthropogenic precursors. The results of the tracer-based-method suggested dominant contributions of SOAs from aromatics and monoterpenes, with the highest concentrations in A1.A WRF-Chem simulation revealed that the SOAs from the above precursors only contributed 12%–25%to the total SOA at DWS,while the spatial distributions of SOAs further highlighted that the abundance of SOAs over the PRE region in winter is highly associated with air masses transported from upwind continental areas.

文摘This paper provides a comprehensive reflection on the evolution of globalization research in the Pearl River Delta(PRD),considering the current international context and national strategies. It identifies several challenges in existing studies, such as the ambiguity of globalization patterns and the insufficient representativeness of key indicators. In response to these challenges, this paper draws upon the theory of strategic coupling to propose a new theoretical framework for analyzing globalization in latecomer regions.Based on the concepts of spatial stickiness and locational advantages, this paper further develops a two-dimensional quantitative indicator matrix.Using the PRD as a case study,it conducts empirical measurements and analysis, leading to three main conclusions.First, the theory of strategic coupling proves well-suited for analyzing the globalization of latecomer regions, exemplified by the PRD.It offers a more systematic, clearer, and more robust explanatory framework compared to traditional measurement methods.Second, the empirical analysis from the PRD reveals that the pattern of regional globalization does not follow a simple linear growth or cyclical model.Instead,it exhibits a circuitous, complex, and upward spiral, unfolding along an S-shaped evolutionary trajectory.Third, through comparisons of the eastern and western shores,as well as segmented city analyses, this study finds that locational advantages significantly shape the evolutionary pattern of globalization. This influence is not only apparent during the region's initial take-off phase but also plays a more profound role in shaping its subsequent developmental trajectory. This study makes a distinctive contribution to both the theoretical understanding of globalization in latecomer regions and the practical field of regional economic development in China.Additionally,it introduces a novel measurement approach for studying regional globalization.
文摘The surveys on the COD in the Lingdingyang waters of Pearl River estuary were carried out in May and August of 2002. The concentration of COD showed a positive correlation with the concentration of suspend substances in spring and summer, but in summer it showed a negative correlation with the concentrations of inorganic nitrate and phosphate.

文摘Evapotranspiration ratio of six major forest types in the Pearl River Delta was studied in this paper, and the six forest types included eucalyptus forest, fruit forest, coniferous forest, shrub forest, coniferous forest, and broad-leaved mixed for- est. The result suggested that water consumption of different forest differs insignificantly, and the EF of eucalyptus is not high.
文摘An optimal algorithm for the retrieval of chlorophyll, suspended sediments and gelbstoff of case Ⅱ waters in the Pearl River estuary was established with the optical parameters derived from the in-situ data obtained in Jan. 2003 in the same area. And then, the chlorophyll, suspended sediments and gelbstoff of the SeaWiFS pixels on Jan. 29, 2003 corresponding to the in-situ sites of Jan. 25 and 26, 2003 were synchronously retrieved, with average relative errors of 14.9%, 12.1% and 13.6% for chlorophyll, suspended sediments and gelbstoff, respectively. The research results indicated that the optimal retrieval algorithm established here was relatively fit for the retrieval of the chlorophyll, suspended sediments and gelbstoff of case Ⅱ waters in the Pearl River estuary, and had quite good retrieval accuracy.

文摘[Objective] This study aimed to investigate the abundance and composition of ammonia-oxidizing bacteria and ammonia-oxidizing archaea in Pearl River Estuary sediment.[Method] Firstly, the amoA gene library was constructed;then based on that, the content and diversity of amoA genes of ammonia-oxidizing bacteria and ammonia-oxidizing archaea in Pearl River Estuary sediment were detected by using quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction(Q-PCR).[Result] The results of Q-PCR presented that ammonia-oxidizing archaea(AOA) were more abundant than ammonia-oxidizing bacteria(AOB) in the top of sediment cores, with ratios of AOA to AOB of 22 and 9 at the two sites. It suggested that ammonia-oxidizing archaea may play more important roles than ammonia-oxidizing bacteria in the process of ammonia oxidation in the Pearl River Estuary sediment. The phylogenetic tree based on amoA gene sequences revealed that the amoA sequences of both AOA and AOB shared high similarity with the clones from uncultured environment. In the top sediment layer at site Q7,AOB amoA-like gene sequences were dominated by Nitrosomonas-like sequence types, which could be classified into five groups(clusters A,B,C,D and E).Cluster A accounted for 72.1% of the library. In the top sediment layer, the AOA amoA gene fell into two groups "water column/sediment" cluster(52.2%) and "soil/sediment" cluster(47.8%).But in the bottom sediment layer of Q7,most of the AOA amoA sequences(93.3%) fell into "soil/sediment" cluster, and a little part(6.7%) fell into the "water/sediment" cluster. In addition, the total amount of amoA genes in the bottom sediment was higher than that in top sediment.[Conclusion] This study helps to realize the cycle of nitrogen in Pearl River Estuary Region, and thus to provide theoretical support for the treatment of nitrogen eutrophication.

文摘PM2.5 and PM10 samples were collected at four major cities in the Pearl River Delta (PRD), South China, during winter and summer in 2002. Besides the primary emissions, complex atmospheric reactions under favorable weather conditions should be paid more attention for the control of primary emission in the PRD region.

文摘The atmospheric deposition of heavy metals poses serious risks to the ecological system and human health. Source contributions to wet deposition were calculated by PMF, suggesting that dust, biomass burning, industries, vehicles, long-range transport and marine aerosol sources in Guangzhou, and Zn fertilizers, marine aerosol sources, agriculture, incense burning, biomass burning, vehicles and the ceramics industry in Dinghushan, were the potential sources of heavy metals.
文摘Molluscs are able to accumulate heavy metals and impose health hazard to consumers. When compared with the Provisional Tolerable Weekly Intake or Maximum Acceptable Daily Load recommended by FAO/WHO Expert Committee on Food Additives, Cd levels of five species (Anadara ferruginea, Pinna pectinata, Chlamys nobilis, Babylonia lutosa and Hemifusus terntanus) and Cr levels of seven species ( Anadara ferruginea, Paphia undulata, Pinna pectinata, Babylonia lutosa, Hemifusus terntanus, Cymbium melo and Cipangopaludina chinensis) were higher than both the human daily acceptable limits (for Cd and Cr respectively) and the local regulatory levels (for Cd and Cr respectively).

文摘Urban resilience is an emerging research topic of urban studies, and its essence is described by the ability of cities to resist, recover, and adapt to uncertain disturbances. The main pathways for achieving coordinated and sustainable development of future urbanization and ecological resilience in the Pearl River Delta include: leading the coordinated development of regions with new urbanization, improving ecological resilience by strictly observing the three areas and three lines, adapting to ecological carrying capacity, and rationally arranging urban green spaces.

文摘The distribution of heavy metals (Pb, Zn, Cd and As) in sediments of the Pearl River Estuary was investigated. Taken together, the enrichment of heavy metals in sediments was largely controlled by anthropogenic pollution.

文摘In this paper, the online weather research and forecasting and chemistry (WRF-Chem) model is used to explore the impacts of urban expansion on regional weather conditions and its implication on surface ozone concentrations over the Pearl River Delta(PRD) and Yangtze River Delta(YRD) regions. The latter three factors outweighed the temperature increase and resulted in a larger ozone enhancement in the PRD than the YRD.

文摘Based on porosity and permeability measurements, mercury porosimetry measurements, thin section analyses, SEM observations, X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis and granulometric analyses, diagenetic features of reservoir sandstones taken from the Zhuhai formation in the Panyu low-uplift of the Pear River Mouth Basin were examined. Chlorite cements play an important role in the reservoir evolution that was mainly characterized by preserving intergranular porosity and forming better pore-throat structures of sandstones.
文摘The Pearl River Mouth Basin (PRMB) covers an area of approximately 20× 104 km2.However,oil-gas fields detected in this area thus far are highly concentrated and controlled predominantly by second-order structural belts, the seven largest of which aggregate proved oil reserves of 7.7× 108 m3,accounting for 86% of the total discovered reserve in the basin. These second-order structures have one common phenomenon:oil is contained in all traps present in them.In other words, they are all belt-wide petroliferous reservoirs.Research has identified eight types of second-order structural belts under two categories in the eastern PRMB.Their petroliferous properties are subject to three typical constraints:petroliferous properties of subsags hosting these structural belts, locations of these belts in the petroleum system, and availability of traps prior to the hydrocarbon expulsion and migration. The formation and distribution of oil reservoirs in these belts are characterized by subsag-belt integration and "three-in-one".The former indicates that sags and the second-order structural belts within the supply range of the sags constitute the basic units of hydrocarbon accumulations and are therefore inseparable. The latter indicates that a belt-wide petroliferous second-order structural belt always contains three important elements:hydrocarbon richness, effective pathway and pre-existing traps.

The Cenozoic tectonic evolution of the study area could be divided into five stages: rifting (~50-40 Ma), rift-drift transition (~40-32 Ma), early post-breakup (~32-23 Ma), thermal subsidence (~23-5.3 Ma) and neotectonic movement (~5.3-0 Ma).
