Petrography, Geochemistry and U-Pb Detrital Zircon Dating of the Clastic Phu Khat Formation in the Nakhon Thai Region, Thailand: Implications for Provenance and Geotectonic Setting 被引量:4

The purpose of this paper is to determine the provenance and tectonic setting of the Phu Khat Formation and get a better understanding of the tectonic evolution of the Nakhon Thai region using the petrography and whole-rock geochemistry integrated with the U-Pb detrital zircon dating. The sandstone of the Late Cretaceous to Early Tertiary Phu Khat Formation is chiefly characterized by unsorted texture and highly unstable volcanic lithic fragments. The formation overlies unconformably on a high textural and mineral maturity of clastic sandstone of the Late Cretaceous Khao Ya Puk Formation. Geochemically, the tectonic setting discrimination(K2O/Na2O-SiO2, Al2O3/SiO2-Fe2O3+Mg O, and Th-Sc-Zr/10) and the petrography indicate that the Phu Khat Formation was accumulated in a passive margin tectonic setting which is the same as the Khao Ya Puk Formation but with a different depositional environment. The plots of geochemical provenance discrimination(La/Th-Hf, Th/Sc-Zr/Sc, Eu anomaly Eu/Eu* 0.42 to 0.74) and the petrography reveal that the provenance of the Khao Ya Puk Formation is mainly recycled sedimentary rocks while the Phu Khat Formation consists primarily of recycled sedimentary rocks associated with minor felsic volcanic rocks from the old continental island arc of the uplifted either western or eastern continental terranes or both. However, the U-Pb detrital zircon dating indicates a unique provenance of the Phu Khat Formation from the terrane west of the Nakhon Thai region where the volcanic continental arc is active predominantly in the Middle to Late Triassic. The results indicate that while the Phu Khat Formation was accumulated in Nakhon Thai region, the western terrane was uplifted by reactivation of the preexisting structure probably since the Maastrichtian time to be the source area of sediments. Meanwhile, the eastern terrane(mainly Loei-Phetchabun fold belt) had not been uplifted probably until, the accumulation of the Phu Khat Formation terminated. Subsequently, the whole region began to uplift forming a high mountainous area since the Ypresian time when the Greater India collided with the Eurasia. 展开更多

Leptolalax macrops sp. nov. is distinguished from its congeners by a combination of the following morphological attributes: (1) body size medium (SVL 28.0-29.3 mm in three adult males, 30.3 mm in single adult female); (2) supra-axillary glands present, creamy white; ventrolateral glands indistinct; (3) tympanum externally distinct; (4) dorsal skin roughly granular with larger tubercles, dermal ridges on dorsum absent; (5) rudimentary webbing present between fingers I-II and I1-111; rudimentary webbing between all toes; fingers and toes without dermal fringes; (6) in life ventral surface greyish-violet with white speckling; (7) supratympanic fold distinct, dark brown in life; (8) iris bicolored, typically golden in upper half, fading to golden green in lower half; (9) tibia short (TbL/SVL 0.44-0.45 in males); and (10) eyes large and protuberant (ED/SVL 0.15-0.16 in males) From all congeners for which comparable sequences are available, the new species differs markedly in the 16S rRNA mitochondrial gene sequence (P-distance〉5.7%). The new species is currently known only from montane evergreen tropical forests of Song Hinh District, Phu Yen Province, and M'Drak District of Dak Lak Province at elevations of 470-630 m a.s.l.. We suggest the new species should be considered as Data Deficient following the IUCN's Red List categories. We also report a previously unknownLeptolalax mtDNA lineage from an evergreen tropica forest in the Hoa Thinh District of Phu Yen Province which may also represent an undescribed species. 展开更多

The Effects of Residual Blood of Carcasses on Poultry Technological Quality

The objective of this work is to show the effect of residual blood on the quality of chicken meat, work based on the hypothesis that increasing the concentration of residual blood would explain the observed quality degradation by several authors. Lots of chickens are killed with two different types of slaughter: Slaughter without stunning for a maximum flow of blood or bleeding perfect PS, shooting seals slight lead to keep almost all blood from the carcass or bleeding IS flawed. To prove the residual blood factors that are responsible for high pHu level and high values of (L* A* B*) in poultry, this study compares the pHu level and values of (L* A* B*) in poultry both perfectly and imperfectly bled. Samples from imperfectly bled carcasses show a high value average number of A* = 12.68 and B* = 16.85;and L* = 54.09 VS the average number of A* = 8.50 and B* = 14.43 and L* = 50.27. At 3℃ storage temperature, the average pHu of perfectly bled poultry was (5.7) which was significantly (P < 0.01) lower than the average pHu of imperfectly bled poultry (6.08). At 7℃ storage temperature, the average pHu of perfectly bled poultry was (6.07) which was significantly (P < 0.05) lower than the average pHu of imperfectly bled one (6.27). We found out the effect of season on the results of pHu measures, so we conducted aanalysis of pHu in summer and winter. Residual blood of the poultry is responsible for high values of (L* A* B*) and high values of pHu therefore the deterioration of the poultry Colour. 展开更多
