Objective To investigate the relationship between serum calcium levels and pain in patientswith Parkinson's disease(PD).Methods A total of 111 patients with PD and 50 healthy volunteers were recruited from our hospital between July 2019 and June 2020.Motor symptoms of PD patients were assessed using the Hoehn-Yahr(H&Y)stages and the Unified Parkinson's Disease Ratingg Scale-IIl(UPDRS II).Non-motor symptomswere evaluatedusing Mini-MentalState Examination(MMSE),17-item Hamilton Depression Rating Scale(HAMD-17),14-item Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale(HAMA-14),questionnaire for rapid eye movement(REM)sleep behavior disorder(RBDQ-HK),King Parkinson's pain scale(KPPS),Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI),Parkinson's Disease Sleep Scale(PDSS),and Epworth Sleepiness Scale(ESS).The quality of life of PD patients was assessed using the 39-item Parkinson's Disease Questionnaire(PDQ-39).Results The levels of serum calcium in PD patients were significantly lower than those in the control group(t=3.733,P<0.001).Additionally,the levels of serum calcium in PD patients with pain were higher than those in PD patients without pain(t=-3.238,P<0.05).This suggests a significant positive correlation between serum calcium levels and pain in PD patients(r=0.320,P=0.001).When analyzing serum calcium levels for PD with pain using binary logistic regression, the area under the curve(AUC=0.662)and sensitivity(28.9%)were found to be low.Furthermore,a correlation analysis of KPPS scores in PD patients with pain revealed that KPPS scores were correlated with UPDRS II(r=0.383,P=0.009),HAMD-17(r=0.303,P=0.043),HAMA-14(r=0.303,P=0.043),PSQI(r=0.304,P=0.042),and PDSS(r=-0.417,P=0.004)scores.Conclusion The levels of serum calcium are decreased in patients with Parkinson's disease(PD),and there is a correlation between serum calcium levels and pain experienced by PD patients. However,it is important to note that pain in PD patients is influenced by various other factors. 展开更多

Objective To explore the effectiveness and safety of endoscopic ultrasound-guided pancreatic duct drainage(EUS-PD).Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on data of 16 patients who underwent EUS-PD because of endoscopic retrograde pancreatography(ERP)failure, poor effectiveness or anatomical changes and couldn't undergo the routine ERP in Nanjing Drum Tower Hospital from June 2018 to July 2022.The technical success of EUS-PD,clinical efficacy and post-procedure adverse events were analyzed. Results In the 16 patients, there were 14 males and 2 females, with age of 50.69±12.95 years.A total of 19 times of EUS-PD operations were included,3 of them were rendezvousassisted endoscopic retrograde pancreatography(RVERP),15 transgastric or transenteric EUS-guided stent placement and 1 was EUS-guided nasopancreatic duct placement.Technical success was achieved in 84.21%(16/19)patients,and among whom 93.75%(15/16)achieved clinical successT.he overall incidence of postoperative adverse events was 52.63%(10/19)including 47.37%(9/19)abdominal pain,15.79%(3/19)fever and 15.79%(3/19)postoperative pancreatitis. All adverse effects were relieveddafter general conservative treatment and no primary disease or surgeryrelated death occurred. The mean follow-up was 17.6(8.2,22.3)months and 93.75%(15/16)of the patients were followed up.By the time of follow-up,76.92%(10/13)of the patients who had successfully received EUS-PD had no recurrence of abdominal pain or distension. Conclusion EUS-PD is a safe and effective alternative therapy for those with pancreatic diseases with ERP failure, poor efficacy or anatomical changes. 展开更多

When operating an equipment or a power system at the high voltage, problems associated with partial discharge (PD) can be tracked down to electromagnetic emission, acoustic emission or chemical reactions such as the formation of ozone and nitrous oxide gases. The high voltage equipment and high voltage installation owners have come to terms with the need for conditions monitoring the^process of PD in the equipments such as power transformers, gas insulated substations (GIS), and cable installations. This paper reviews the available PD detection methods (involving high voltage equipment) such as electrical detection, chemical detection, acoustic detection, and optical detection. Advantages and disadvantages of each method have been explored and compared. The review suggests that optical detection techniques provide many advantages in the consideration of accuracy and suitability for the applications when compared to other techniques. 展开更多
