Background:A growing body of research is exploring the role of antioxidant and anti-inflammatory dietary supplements in the treatment of osteoarthritis,highlighting an increasing emphasis on nonpharmacological interve...Background:A growing body of research is exploring the role of antioxidant and anti-inflammatory dietary supplements in the treatment of osteoarthritis,highlighting an increasing emphasis on nonpharmacological interventions.Although more patients are turning to supplements to manage osteoarthritis,their actual effectiveness remains uncertain.Objective:This study aims to provide a comprehensive evaluation of the available evidence concerning the efficacy of various dietary supplements in osteoarthritis treatment.Search strategy:We searched PubMed,Embase,Cochrane Library and Web of Science for studies on the use of various dietary supplements in the treatment of osteoarthritis from the creation of each database until Jan 20,2025.Inclusion criteria:(1)Research object:osteoarthritis.(2)Intervention measures:patients in the treatment group received dietary supplements,while the control group received placebos.(3)Research type:randomized controlled trials(RCTs).Data extraction and analysis:Two researchers independently examined the literature and retrieved data based on predefined criteria.The information gathered included the first author,year of publication,sample size,participant demographics,length of the follow-up period,intervention and control measures,and inclusion indications.RCTs comparing dietary supplements to placebo with the pain and function subscales of the Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index(WOMAC)among patients with osteoarthritis were included.The optimal dietary supplement was identified based on the total ranking by summing the surface under the cumulative ranking curve(SUCRA)of these two scores.Furthermore,the Grading of Recommendations Assessment,Development,and Evaluation(GRADE)was used to confirm the quality of the evidence.Results:Overall,23 studies covering 21 dietary supplements and involving 2455 participants met the inclusion criteria.In the WOMAC pain score,the SUCRA of passion fruit peel extract was 91%(mean difference[MD]:–9.2;95%confidence interval[CI]:[–16.0,–2.3]),followed by methylsulfonylmethane(89%),undenatured type II collagen(87%),collagen(84%),and Lanconone(82%).The SUCRA(99%)of passion fruit peel extract(MD:–41.0;95%CI:[–66.0,–16.0])ranked first in terms of the WOMAC function score,followed by Lanconone(95%),collagen(86%),ParActin(84%),and Lactobacillus casei strain Shirota(83%).The top three total rankings are passion fruit peel extract(95.0%),Lanconone(88.5%),and collagen(85.0%).However,the GRADE revealed low evidence quality.Conclusion:Passion fruit peel extract was the best supplement for improving WOMAC pain and function scores in patients with osteoarthritis,followed by Lanconone and collagen.However,further large-scale,well designed RCTs are required to substantiate these promising findings.展开更多

However, there were discrepancies between the data collected from the meteorological station at the passion fruit growing base and the data from regional and national stations. Consequently, the high and low temperature disaster indicators determined by the meteorological station at the passion fruit growing base cannot be applied to meteorological forecasting. To address this issue and facilitate the monitoring and early warning of high and low temperature disasters in passion fruit cultivation in Fujian, China, we used multi-source hourly temperature data (including the data from meteorological observation stations in passion fruit growing bases, the nearest regional stations, and national surface conventional meteorological observation stations) in three cities in southwestern Fujian (Longyan, Sanming, and Zhangzhou) spanning the years 2020 to 2022. By employing comprehensive statistical analysis methods (0.5 interval division and Cumulative frequency), we identified that passion fruit in southwestern Fujian was susceptible to high temperature disasters during the blooming-fruiting period, as well as low temperature disasters during the sprouting period. Consequently, we developed high and low temperature disaster indicators based on data from regional and national stations for different phenological periods of passion fruit in this region.展开更多

Starting from the point where the philosophers of the Ancient and the Middle Stoa acknowledge man's relation with the Cosmos and with each human being separately, the Stoics of Rome (namely, Seneca, Marcus Aurelius, Epictetus, but even Cicero who fosters many of the earlier Stoic ethical views) enrich the content of this theorization by offering an expansion of the concept of the Greek philanthropy. Through the practical means of individual correction, which leads to the therapy of passions, the stoic sage returns to society in order to emancipate the human being and to ensure that man will recover his ontological dignity. This effort is grounded on benevolent and mild action, which aims to correct rather than to discipline in a punitive way. It is their contribution to philosophy that the author aims to discuss in connection with the recording of their thought on issues directly related with a non-violent and eudaimonistic way of life in the context of social peace.展开更多

It demonstrates that such interactions with the rest of the world are trying to establish some semiotic functions, in an effort behaviorally to overcome the children's disability. The author's aim is to analyze such a paradoxical way of communicational interaction of such a subject vs. a given objectively perceivable reality, thus attempting to reveal paradoxical social contexts. The focus is on interpersonal communication abilities and/or disabilities, thus allowing semiotically distinguishable units as an object of analysis. The problem of mental disorders, such as ASD, requires a multi-dimensional approach--e.g., biological, medical, and other related fields. In conclusion, by applying a semiotic analysis, it becomes necessary to communicate with such children in a whole new way which, by processes of transformation, can bring about a state of awareness of a paradoxical and/or abnormal phenomenon.展开更多

The extracted components include flavonoids and terpenoids, which have good anti-anxiety and anti-inflammatory effe...Passion fruit(Passiflora edulis Sims) is a vine of the Passiflora genus in the Passifloraceae family. The extracted components include flavonoids and terpenoids, which have good anti-anxiety and anti-inflammatory effects in humans.In this study, we analyzed the transcriptomes of four tissues of the ‘Zixiang’ cultivar using RNA-Seq, which provided a dataset for functional gene mining. The de novo assembly of these reads generated 96 883 unigenes, among which 61 022 unigenes were annotated(62.99% yield). In addition to its edible value, another important application of passion fruit is its medicinal value. The flavonoids and terpenoids are mainly derivatives of luteolin, apigenin, cycloartane triterpenoid saponins and other active substances in leaf extracts. A series of candidate unigenes in the transcriptome data that are potentially involved in the flavonoid and terpenoid synthesis pathways were screened using homologybased BLAST and phylogenetic analysis. The results showed that the biosynthesis of triterpenoids in passion fruit comes from the branches of the mevalonate(MVA) and 2-C-methyl-D-erythritol 4-phosphate/1-deoxy-D-xylulose 5-phosphate(MEP/DOXP) pathways, which is different from the MVA pathway that is used in other fruit trees. Most of the candidate genes were found to be highly expressed in the leaves and/or flowers. Quantitative real-time PCR(qRT-PCR) verification was carried out and confirmed the reliability of the RNA-Seq data. Further amplification and functional analysis of these putative unigenes will provide additional insight into the biosynthesis of flavonoids and terpenoids in passion fruit.展开更多

The effects of cellulase concentra...Ultrasound-assisted enzymatic extraction of soluble dietary fiber(SDF) from passion fruit seeds was carried out in order to shorten the extraction time and increase the yield of SDF. The effects of cellulase concentration, ultrasonic power, extraction temperature, solid-liquid ratio and water bath time on the SDF yield of passion fruit were studied by single factor analysis. And the orthogonal experiment was designed to optimize the extraction conditions. The results showed that the optimum conditions for the extraction of SDF from passion fruit by ultrasoundassisted enzymatic method were cellulase concentration 1.5%, ultrasonic power 120 W, solid-liquid ratio(g/mL) 1 ∶ 15, extraction temperature 55 ℃, and water bath time 160 min. The SDF extraction rate was determined to be 5.12%.展开更多

文摘[Objectives]To study the effects of different application methods and application rates of biological nano-selenium on the quality of passion fruit.[Methods]In this experiment,passion fruit Tainong 1 was sprayed with biological nano-selenium.The concentration of spraying refers to the recommended application rate of biological nano-selenium manufacturers.Three treatments with different concentrations were carried out:3,4.5 and 6 L/ha biological nano-selenium was sprayed on 100%root,(50%root+50%leaf surface)and 100%leaf surface of passion fruit,respectively.[Results]From the aspects of economic cost and rational utilization of resources,spraying 3 L/ha selenium fertilizer on the leaves of passion fruit played the best role in improving the quality of passion fruit.[Conclusions]To study the selenium-rich production technology of agricultural products and improve the quality of agricultural products is of great significance for improving human health and producing high-quality agricultural products.

文摘Passion fruit(Passiflora edulis Sims) is a vine of the Passiflora genus in the Passifloraceae family. The extracted components include flavonoids and terpenoids, which have good anti-anxiety and anti-inflammatory effects in humans.In this study, we analyzed the transcriptomes of four tissues of the ‘Zixiang’ cultivar using RNA-Seq, which provided a dataset for functional gene mining. The de novo assembly of these reads generated 96 883 unigenes, among which 61 022 unigenes were annotated(62.99% yield). In addition to its edible value, another important application of passion fruit is its medicinal value. The flavonoids and terpenoids are mainly derivatives of luteolin, apigenin, cycloartane triterpenoid saponins and other active substances in leaf extracts. A series of candidate unigenes in the transcriptome data that are potentially involved in the flavonoid and terpenoid synthesis pathways were screened using homologybased BLAST and phylogenetic analysis. The results showed that the biosynthesis of triterpenoids in passion fruit comes from the branches of the mevalonate(MVA) and 2-C-methyl-D-erythritol 4-phosphate/1-deoxy-D-xylulose 5-phosphate(MEP/DOXP) pathways, which is different from the MVA pathway that is used in other fruit trees. Most of the candidate genes were found to be highly expressed in the leaves and/or flowers. Quantitative real-time PCR(qRT-PCR) verification was carried out and confirmed the reliability of the RNA-Seq data. Further amplification and functional analysis of these putative unigenes will provide additional insight into the biosynthesis of flavonoids and terpenoids in passion fruit.
文摘Ultrasound-assisted enzymatic extraction of soluble dietary fiber(SDF) from passion fruit seeds was carried out in order to shorten the extraction time and increase the yield of SDF. The effects of cellulase concentration, ultrasonic power, extraction temperature, solid-liquid ratio and water bath time on the SDF yield of passion fruit were studied by single factor analysis. And the orthogonal experiment was designed to optimize the extraction conditions. The results showed that the optimum conditions for the extraction of SDF from passion fruit by ultrasoundassisted enzymatic method were cellulase concentration 1.5%, ultrasonic power 120 W, solid-liquid ratio(g/mL) 1 ∶ 15, extraction temperature 55 ℃, and water bath time 160 min. The SDF extraction rate was determined to be 5.12%.
