Global,regional,and national epidemiology of cardiovascular diseases attributable to physical inactivity among adults aged 70 years and older from 1990 to 2021

BACKGROUND Physical inactivity is a significant yet underappreciated risk factor for cardiovascular disease(CVD),particularly among older adults.The aim of this study was to analyze the global burden of CVD attributable to physical inactivity in individuals aged 70 years and older from 1990 to 2021 using the Global Burden of Disease data.METHODS We assessed trends in disability-adjusted life years(DALYs)and deaths,decomposed changes into population growth,aging,and epidemiological factors,and examined health inequalities across sociodemographic index(SDI)regions.RESULTS From 1990 to 2021,a substantial rise in DALYs was observed,especially in low and middle SDI regions,with a 120.06% increase in the low SDI region,but a 23.10% decline in the high SDI region.Decomposition analysis identified population aging and growth as primary drivers for the burden,contributing 66.39% and 83.56% to the increase in middle and low SDI regions,respectively.By contrast,epidemiological improvements alleviated burden in the high SDI region(54.91%).Gender disparities persisted,with women experiencing a higher burden.Inequality analysis indicated a shift in CVD burden towards the low SDI region,with declining concentration indices for DALYs(-0.03 to-0.13)and deaths(-0.07 to-0.15).The Bayesian age-period-cohort projections suggest continued increases in DALYs and deaths through 2050,with women disproportionately affected.CONCLUSIONS These findings highlight the urgent need for targeted interventions promoting physical activity,improving healthcare access,and implementing region-specific prevention strategies. 展开更多

Aerosol acidity(pH)plays an important role in the multiphase chemical processes of atmospheric particles.In this study,we demonstrated the seasonal trends of aerosol pH calculated with the ISORROPIA-II model in a coastal city of southeast China.We performed quantitative analysis on the various influencing factors on aerosol pH,and explored the responses of aerosol pH to different PM_(2.5)and O_(3)pollution levels.The results showed that the average aerosol pH was 2.92±0.61,following the order of winter>spring>summer>autumn.Sensitivity tests revealed that SO_(4)^(2−),NH_(x),T and RH triggered the variations of aerosol pH.Quantitative analysis results showed that T(37.9%-51.2%)was the main factors affecting pH variations in four seasons,followed by SO_(4)^(2−)(6.1%-23.7%),NH_(x)(7.2%-22.2%)and RH(0–14.2%).Totally,annual mean meteorological factors(52.9%)and chemical compositions(41.3%)commonly contributed the aerosolpH in the coastal city.The concentrations of PM_(2.5)was positively correlated with aerosol liquid water content(R^(2)=0.53)and aerosol pH(R^(2)=0.26),indicating that the increase in pH was related with the elevated NH_(4)NO_(3)and decreased SO_(4)^(2−),and also the changes of T and RH.The O_(x)(O_(3)+NO_(2))was moderately correlated with aerosol pH(R^(2)=-0.48),attributable to the fact that the proportion of SO_(4)^(2−)increased under high T and low RH conditions.The study strengthened our understanding of the contributions of influencing factors to aerosol pH,and also provided scientific evidences for chemical processes of atmospheric particles in coastal areas. 展开更多

In this paper,the method of polynomial particular solutions is used to solve nonlinear Poisson-type partial differential equations in one,two,and three dimensions.The condition number of the coefficient matrix is reduced through the implementation of multiple scale technique,ultimately yielding a stable numerical solution.The methodological process can be divided into two main parts:first,identifying the corresponding polynomial particular solutions for the linear differential operator terms in the governing equations,and second,employing these polynomial particular solutions as basis function to iteratively solve the remaining nonlinear terms within the governing equations.Additionally,we investigate the potential improvement in numerical accuracy for equations with singularities in the analytical solution by shifting the computational domain a certain distance.Numerical experiments are conducted to assess both the accuracy and stability of the proposed method.A comparison of the obtained results with those produced by other numerical methods demonstrates the accuracy,stability,and efficiency of the proposed method in handling nonlinear Poisson-type partial differential equations. 展开更多

AIM: To investigate electroacupunture(EA) at the acupoints of Stomach Meridian of Foot-Yangming(SMFY), Gallbladder Meridian of Foot-Yangming(SMFY) on gastric mucosal intestinal trefoil factor (ITF) gene expression detection in stress-induced rats with gastric mucosal lesion, and to explore the regulatory mechanism and significance of EA-related gastric mucosal protective effect. METHODS: Forty rats were randomly divided into 4 groups: Blank group, Model group, Model group+EA at acupoints of SMFY group("SMFY group"), and Model group+EA at acupoints of GMFY group(GMFY group). All rats (except blank group) were made model by water immersion and restraint stress (WRS). Then the gastric mucosa tissue in each rat was taken off alter assessment of gastric mucosal lesion index(GUI), and the expression of ITF mRNA of the tissues was detected by reverse transcdption-polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR) method. RESULTS: Compared with Model group(S4.3± 1.34), the GUI value in SMFY group (31±2.211 decreased significantly(P〈0.01), so did that in GMFY group (39.8± 1.62, P〈0.05), meanwhile GUI value in SMFY group was significantly lower than in GMFY group(P〈0.01). Compared with Model group (0.65±0.01), EA had a tendency to improve the expression of gastric mucosal ITFmRNA gene: such tendency existed in GMFY group (0.66±0.01) but with no signficant difference(P〉 0.05), in SMFY group(0.76±0.01) with an extremely obvious difference (P〈0.01), furthermore the expression in SMFY group was significantly higher than in GMFY group (P〈 0.01).CONCLUSION: The gastric mucosal protective effect by EA at the acupoints of SMFY and GMFY was related to the expression variance of ITF, indicating certain meridian specificity exists, It could be one proof for the TCM theory "Relative pardcularity between SMFY and stomach". 展开更多

Although significant progress has been made in the geological theory and exploration and development of shale gas in China,the research on the geological particularity and enrichment regularity associated with shale gas accumulation remains weak.With this in mind,we analyzed the shale gas accumulation patterns in China.The findings show that:(1)A variety of organic-rich shales were deposited in the continental margintype marine and transitional environments during the Pre-Mesozoic period and the basin-type terrestrial environment during the Mesozoic and Cenozoic eras.(2)The basins dominated by Mesozoic and Cenozoic terrestrial sediments superimpose on the Pre-Mesozoic continental margintype marineeor transitional-facies sediments.The former developed the terrestrial shales with large thickness,high organic matter abundance,new age,and low thermal maturity;meanwhile,the deep parts of the basins are favorable for shale gas enrichment.However,the latter preserves the shale with old age,high thermal maturity,and undergoing multiphase tectonic movements;and the tectonically stable regions are favorable for shale gas enrichment.(3)The aulacogens mainly formed in the Meso-Neoproterozoic,Sinian-Ordovician,and Devon-Triassic periods are favorable for marine organic-rich shale deposition;moreover,this type of shale and other types including transitional facies shales with favorable reservoir-forming assemblages,coal-measure shales in small and medium-sized basins,and low-medium mature shales affected by magma intrusion,have jointly constituted the various shale gas accumulation patterns in China.(4)Based on the drilling discoveries in China,shale gas accumulation patterns can be categorized into two types:tectonic-controlled and stratigraphic-controlled.The former is mainly related to structural features,whereas the latter is mainly related to the variation of lithology and strata.(5)Shale development and gas content are mainly affected and controlled by geological factors including sedimentation,diagenesis,and later tectonic movements.Favorable sedimentary environments,appropriate thermal maturity,good sealing capacity of caprock,and excellent structural preservation are the necessary conditions for shale gas enrichment. 展开更多

The results show that users' needs for meteorological services follow certain laws,and the public's needs for meteorological information are driven by physiological needs firstly and then by safety needs,while they are driven by upper needs finally. Meanwhile,users' needs for meteorological services have particularity.Under special backgrounds,there are certain differences between users' needs and laws of basic needs,and users' needs are inconsistent with the " ideal needs" of meteorological departments. From the perspective of the poverty of stimulus argument and the cognitive development theory, this paper attempts to reveal the mechanism of language acquisition. The poverty of stimulus argument theoretically proves the hypothesis that based on their finite linguistic experience, children can construct their complete language knowledge system. Language acquisition is the process of acquisition of core grammar and of mental representation of vocabulary. Parameter values must be set in the process of children's core grammar acquisition. Vocabulary of natural language is stored and processed in the form of conceptual representation, which is associated with syntactic structures by projection rules and bounded by various well-formed rules. The cognitive development theory claims that language acquisition is a development process of universal grammar into particular grammar, which is redescribed at a higher level. 展开更多
