Genetic analysis indicated that the phenotype was caus...A thermo-insensitive pale green leaf mutant （pgl2） was isolated from T-DNA inserted transgenic lines of rice （Oryza sativa L. subsp, japonica cv. Nipponbare）. Genetic analysis indicated that the phenotype was caused by a recessive mutation in a single nuclear-encoded gene. To map the PGL2gene, an F2 population was constructed by crossing the mutant with Longtefu （Oryza sativa L. subsp, indica）. The PGL2 locus was roughly linked to SSR marker RM331 on chromosome 8. To finely map the gene, 14 new InDel markers were developed around the marker, and PGL2 was further mapped to a 2.37 Mb centromeric region. Analysis on chlorophyll contents of leaves showed that there was no obvious difference between the mutant and the wild type in total chlorophyll （Chl） content, while the ratio of Chl a / Chl b in the mutant was only about 1, which was distinctly lower than that in the wild type, suggesting that the PGL2 gene was related to the conversion between Chl a and Chl b. Moreover, the method of primer design around the centromeric region was discussed, which would provide insight into fine mapping of the functional genes in plant centromeres.展开更多

We conducted sedimentological and strati...Paleogene sedimentary basins exposed across much of the central and eastern Tibetan Plateau may record the early history of plateau uplift related to the Indo\|Asian collision. We conducted sedimentological and stratigraphic investigations in the northeastern Qiangtang terrane, eastern Tibetan Plateau. Our results indicate development of several nonmarine basins during Paleogene(?) time, probably synchronous with northeast\|southwest contractional deformation. The Nangqian and Xialaxiu basins (96°～97°E, 32°～33°N) are composed of 500～ 20000m thick successions of primarily clastic sediment indicative of lacustrine and alluvial\|fan depositional processes. Paleocurrent measurements and sediment compositional data indicate local sediment source areas composed of Carboniferous\|Triassic carbonate and sandstone and minor Tertiary volcanic rocks. The large variability of provenance and facies types suggest that each basin evolved independently, as opposed to regional development of a single integrated basin which was partitioned by later deformation.展开更多

Sterility level is higher in the early sowing stage than that in the late sowing. The inducement of male sterility is closely related to longer day-length and higher temperature at the developmental stages of young panicle. The geotcmperature of the Turpan-Hami Basin has the character that suggests higher temperature in the past, in the east and south of the basin, and in the areas of large-fracture, and lower temperature in the present day and in the west and north of the basin. This feature is controlled by the difference of burial depth of basement and heat flow values, which made Permian source rock mature in the late Triassic and Jurassic source rock mature at the end of Jurassic and the early Tertiary.展开更多
