Outdoor space on campus is an important place for daily activities of teachers and students,and there is an important connection between thermal comfort and users’ feelings.It is of great significance to explore the difference of thermal comfort perceived by human body for the effective use and renovation of space.With the typical outdoor space in the campus of North China University of Technology as the monitoring object,the influencing factors of the difference of human thermal comfort perception were analyzed by measuring the microclimate data of outdoor space in winter and the data of thermal comfort questionnaire.The results showed that the subjective feeling of human body to environmental thermal comfort in winter in outdoor space of campus in north China was correlated with various factors,and had significant correlation with gender and height.The research results are helpful to further explore the difference of thermal comfort perception. 展开更多

One of the factors for the evaluation of the space environment is the comfort of outdoor activities spaces in urban parks. The space composed of different landscape elements has different microclimate environment. In this paper, in order to evaluate the role of thermal comfort in influencing resident’s assessment of the outdoor space and activities of the park, a thermal comfort survey was conducted on the outdoor open space of Mianyang Urban Park in summer. In this article, meteorological surveys, questionnaire surveys and observation of park attendance are selected to collect data. The physiological equivalent temperature (PET) assessment was selected as the index to evaluate resident’s thermal comfort level, and the comprehensive evaluation and analysis of the spatial thermal environment of different outdoor landscape elements in the park. The overall comfort of current visitors is mainly influenced by their subjective heat perception voting (TSV). In this article, we focus on providing microclimate adjustment considerations for urban park landscape design, and may help people understand the outdoor thermal comfort of Mianyang in summer, increase the using time of outdoor activities, and promote the use of outdoor space. 展开更多

The community and the village are the are population most centralized region, it is also the main places that old man consume their leisure time. Outdoor space design should be suitable for the local natural climatic conditions and cultural customs. Outdoor space in Hunan of China appropriates local opened space. The high quality design of outdoor space will create conditions for social endowment and self-help endowment. Outdoor activity space is closely linked with the old people’s quality of life. Function of outdoor space includes contact and the exercise as well as manual labor and pastime. Outdoor space design strategy consists of barrier-free design, identification design and activity space. The paper thinks that: “Doing to older, joy to older” is the highest state of old age. This needs the joint efforts of the family and community, needs to assume by physical space. The outdoor is the main site of activity for old man. Quantifying the quality of outdoor space in high-intensity residential areas:A case study of Nanjing in China

The quality of outdoor space in residential areas is of great importance to residents.However,the existing studies predominately focus on a certain types of open space.In addition,there is lack of objective quantification.In this study,a novel approach is developed in order to quantify the quality of outdoor space based on the identification of value dimensions and the classification of the open spaces.Firstly,the residential outdoor space is divided into six types of open space.Secondly,the value weights of different open spaces are calculated through Structural Equation Modeling(SEM)and Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP)based on the data from on-site and online questionnaire survey.Finally,the approach developed in this study was tested in high intensity residential areas.Results of this study helps to better understand the quality of outdoor space in high intensity residential development,hence provides useful inputs for the future planning of such developments. 展开更多

Open spaces-whether public,urban,or part of a campus-offer a variety of activities and opportunities to people.Therefore,open spaces should be considered a vital component of any built-up area and designed to meet the needs and address the comfort of potential users.Because of their presence in daily life and their preponderance of characteristics,open spaces have drawn the attention of many researchers,designers,and planners with varying perspec-tives.The current study takes a scientific approach to analyzing the environmental parameters of the Campus Outdoor Space(COS)in the case of the Eastern Mediterranean University(EMU).An extensive literature review supported the identification of seven important envi-ronmental parameters effective in the microscale analysis of a COS:geographical location,meteorological situation,urban form,surface materials,amount of vegetation and watershed,and anthropogenic pollution.Analysis of the environmental parameters called for a hybrid method that included a detailed field survey and the following set of simulations:sun-path,radiation,sky view factor,and turbulence analysis.The accuracy of the field survey directly con-tributed to the effectiveness of the simulations.Grasshopper®3D software and Computational Fluid Dynamics were used to simulate the conditions of the EMU study area.The outcomes show that the spatial organization,building forms,and building orientation negatively affect the COS of EMU.In the Mediterranean climatic region of EMU,shade and flowing breezes greatly enhance comfort and usability of outdoor spaces from April to October.The massive form of buildings and minimal planning for effective building orientation to the sun increased heat storage capacity and neglected prevailing winds,resulting in flow separation and formation of eddies on the leeward side of buildings.These negatively influenced the microclimate,and thereby user comfort,at the core of the EMU’s main COS. 展开更多

This paper studies the thermal performance of outdoor residential spaces in the old part—historical part—of Sana’a city in the winter period and its impact on the residents’ satisfaction who occupied the buildings which overlook these spaces and use them on a pedestrian comfort basis. The analysis was carried out through the results of field measurements which study the temperature, relative humidity, and the air movement inside the selected outdoor spaces in the period of winter (2 months) data recorded through the devices used and compared with those obtained from the General Authority of Meteorology and Aviation—Meteorology Sector. Despite the passage of years, the author remained occupied with the opinion of the people whose homes overlook those outdoors spaces and what is their opinion of their performance. Therefore, an assessment was conducted in November 2020 to know the opinion of the people about the performance of these outdoor spaces and to compare the results of the field measurements with the results of the assessment. The measurements were conducted by using data-loggers that spread in some outdoor spaces in 7 spaces in old city of Sana’a and in its modern extension during the winter period which is the time of concern of this work. The measurements showed that the outdoor residential spaces in the old city of Sana’a are represented an advantage for winter climate over that of the modern city, so the focus in this paper was on that outdoors with the question of the users of the outdoor spaces in the old city only to clarify their satisfaction with it and whether it has succeeded as well from their point of view. Results presented in this paper are important to consider the relationship between the climatical performance of outdoor spaces and the comfort of the residents in the urban environment and give implications for urban planners and architects to improve the climate-based design methodology towards sustainable developments. 展开更多

Urban Microclimate and Outdoor Thermal Comfort of Public Spaces in Warm-Humid Cities: A Comparative Bibliometric Mapping of the Literature

Intensified human population encourages urbanization changing the morphology and metabolism of urban environments, thus altering the local climate and outdoor thermal comfort (OTC) in public spaces. OTC is an increasingly urgent area of research for tropical climates. This study explores the literature from the Scopus database on urban microclimate and OTC in public spaces and contrasts the studies in warm-humid cities through a bibliometric mapping of literature. The adapted methodology includes;Bibliometric Search, Scientometric Analysis, and Content analysis using VOSviewer software to identify the evolution paths, gaps, and the most recent movement of OTC assessments in urban public spaces. Results reveal five evolution paths related to all climatic regions;1) materials and cooling strategies, 2) simulation modeling and urban planning, 3) design parameters affecting thermal perception, 4) cooling effects of green infrastructure, and 5) thermal adaptation in urban design. Although urban morphology and vegetation have been received the highest attention respectively, only a few for blue infrastructure related to warm-humid cities. This review identified five research gaps;the impact of blue infrastructure on OTC, strategies to overcome the effect of reflective materials, vegetation configurations in street canyons with wind flow, OTC improvements in asymmetrical street canyons, and how local climate zone (LCZ) classification approach could be used for OTC assessments. Past empirical studies have revealed that urban vegetation, surface materials, and morphological parameters are of paramount importance. Yet, the urban blue infrastructure has not received adequate research. Recently, the attention of researchers has been drawn to strategies in improving OTC using micro-meteorological simulation modelling to examine the impact of urban design interventions. Finally, comprehensive content analysis, bibliographic coupling based on documents, co-occurrence of all-keywords, are suggested for future bibliometric reviews. Finally, further research on recommended areas would assist decision-makers in planning and design to enhance livability by improving microclimate and OTC in urban spaces. 展开更多

老年友好社区户外活动空间可供性评价指标体系构建研究

开展户外游憩活动对儿童的身心健康、自然接触与接受环境教育等具有重要意义。城市绿色公共空间是当前儿童户外游憩活动的主要空间载体,学界对其游憩价值与环境教育价值展开研究并取得一定成果。然而,城市化的快速推进使绿地资源稀缺,... 开展户外游憩活动对儿童的身心健康、自然接触与接受环境教育等具有重要意义。城市绿色公共空间是当前儿童户外游憩活动的主要空间载体,学界对其游憩价值与环境教育价值展开研究并取得一定成果。然而,城市化的快速推进使绿地资源稀缺,儿童环境教育的发展面临挑战。以南京中城社区为案例,以食育主题为切入,探索城市高密度社区非绿色公共空间营造的儿童环境教育价值,并借助深度访谈和设计实践探索其构成要素与关系,基于文本编码与主题分析,构建了“认知-态度-实践-约束”(CAPC)四维框架,并通过设计过程加以检验。研究发现,城市非绿色公共空间塑造的儿童环境教育效果受儿童空间认知、自然认知、社会认知、环境伦理、学习动机、改造参与、运维参与、家庭协作、物理属性、管理机制共10个主要因素及27个构成要素共同影响。城市非绿色公共空间因其使用高频、可达性强等特点,能够显著提升儿童对自然的认知水平、生态责任感和行为参与度。CAPC四维框架的提出为高密度城市环境教育的发展提供了理论依据和实践参考,突破了传统环境教育对自然绿地的依赖,为儿童友好城市的建设提供了创新思路。 展开更多

微观环境下老旧社区户外空间居民停留偏好模型研究框架构建方法

社区户外休闲空间(以下简称“户外空间”)是居民利用碎片化时间活动的主要场所,目前高密度城区老旧社区户外休闲空间匮乏,空间供给与居民需求不匹配,这一问题在老龄化严峻的老旧社区尤其突出。以广州越秀区老龄化老旧社区的户外空间为例... 社区户外休闲空间(以下简称“户外空间”)是居民利用碎片化时间活动的主要场所,目前高密度城区老旧社区户外休闲空间匮乏,空间供给与居民需求不匹配,这一问题在老龄化严峻的老旧社区尤其突出。以广州越秀区老龄化老旧社区的户外空间为例,探讨在客观微环境要素影响下的社区户外空间居民停留行为特征,收集相关数据以机器学习方法建立居民停留偏好预测模型,并用UNA、Envi-met等模拟微观环境数据验证模型,从而构建微观环境影响下老旧社区户外空间居民停留偏好模型的研究框架。建立和验证模型的结论表明,与研究社区中居民在户外空间停留的相关微环境要素有温度、相对湿度、风速、路径人流量;XGboost模型用于建立居民停留偏好模型的效果最好,预测系数R^(2)=0.75,该模型也适用于相似社会场景与建成环境的老旧社区户外空间居民停留情况预测,排序预测准确率达66.7%。老旧社区户外空间居民停留偏好模型研究框架的建立,为实现特定空间居民停留行为的模拟预测奠定了理论基础,对社区空间更新有重要意义:一是通过模型预测社区户外空间的居民潜在停留情况,作为社区更新规划布局的科学决策依据;二是借助后期完善的模型定量调整微观环境要素以提升户外空间的使用效率。 展开更多

为响应成都在国家“十四五”规划提出的儿童友好城市建设背景下推出的儿童友好学校建设新举措,研究幼儿园户外活动空间现状并了解儿童理想中的幼儿园户外环境特征,优化幼儿园户外活动空间,构建支持儿童全面发展的成长环境。通过引入可... 为响应成都在国家“十四五”规划提出的儿童友好城市建设背景下推出的儿童友好学校建设新举措,研究幼儿园户外活动空间现状并了解儿童理想中的幼儿园户外环境特征,优化幼儿园户外活动空间,构建支持儿童全面发展的成长环境。通过引入可供性理论,以成都市三所幼儿园为研究对象,运用行为观察法、行为注记法获取三所幼儿园户外环境在儿童游戏方面的可供性现状,采用感知地图绘制结合半结构访谈探究儿童理想的幼儿园户外活动空间环境特征。研究结果发现:三所幼儿园可供性数量结构均为被使用的可供性>被感知的可供性>被塑造的可供性,空间结构中,拥有组合游戏空间的幼儿园的三种表现水平可供性混合程度最高;幼儿园户外环境中“附着物”“松散物体”“开放地面”提供的可供性数量最多;儿童理想的幼儿园户外环境中自然要素占比最高,其次是设施要素。为幼儿园户外活动空间环境提质改建提供新思路与科学依据。 展开更多

基于KANO模型的青岛理工大学黄岛校区室外空间优化研究

随着高校数量的快速扩张与学生行为需求的不断变化,传统校园室外空间已难以满足当代大学生对空间品质与多样化使用需求的期待。文章以青岛理工大学黄岛校区为研究对象,运用KANO模型分析学生在校园室外空间中的具体需求,并结合Better-Wo... 随着高校数量的快速扩张与学生行为需求的不断变化,传统校园室外空间已难以满足当代大学生对空间品质与多样化使用需求的期待。文章以青岛理工大学黄岛校区为研究对象,运用KANO模型分析学生在校园室外空间中的具体需求,并结合Better-Worse敏感度系数对各类需求进行归类与优先级排序。研究从安全、舒适、愉悦与便捷四大维度设定20项学生需求指标,通过实地调研与问卷收集,明确需求属性划分,包括必备型需求、期望型需求、魅力型需求与无差异型需求。研究据此提出保障安全与基础功能、提升功能便捷与使用体验、提高环境吸引力三类空间优化策略,旨在为高校室外空间设计与改造提供科学参考,构建兼具功能性与情感价值的优质校园空间。 展开更多
