As Internet of Things(IoT)applications expand,Mobile Edge Computing(MEC)has emerged as a promising architecture to overcome the real-time processing limitations of mobile devices.Edge-side computation offloading plays a pivotal role in MEC performance but remains challenging due to complex task topologies,conflicting objectives,and limited resources.This paper addresses high-dimensional multi-objective offloading for serial heterogeneous tasks in MEC.We jointly consider task heterogeneity,high-dimensional objectives,and flexible resource scheduling,modeling the problem as a Many-objective optimization.To solve it,we propose a flexible framework integrating an improved cooperative co-evolutionary algorithm based on decomposition(MOCC/D)and a flexible scheduling strategy.Experimental results on benchmark functions and simulation scenarios show that the proposed method outperforms existing approaches in both convergence and solution quality. 展开更多

The moving morphable component(MMC)topology optimization method,as a typical explicit topology optimization method,has been widely concerned.In the MMC topology optimization framework,the surrogate material model is mainly used for finite element analysis at present,and the effectiveness of the surrogate material model has been fully confirmed.However,there are some accuracy problems when dealing with boundary elements using the surrogate material model,which will affect the topology optimization results.In this study,a boundary element reconstruction(BER)model is proposed based on the surrogate material model under the MMC topology optimization framework to improve the accuracy of topology optimization.The proposed BER model can reconstruct the boundary elements by refining the local meshes and obtaining new nodes in boundary elements.Then the density of boundary elements is recalculated using the new node information,which is more accurate than the original model.Based on the new density of boundary elements,the material properties and volume information of the boundary elements are updated.Compared with other finite element analysis methods,the BER model is simple and feasible and can improve computational accuracy.Finally,the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed method are verified by comparing it with the optimization results of the original surrogate material model through several numerical examples. 展开更多

Due to the digital transformation tendency among cultural institutions and the substantial influence of the social media platform,the demands of visual communication keep increasing for promoting traditional cultural artifacts online.As an effective medium,posters serve to attract public attention and facilitate broader engagement with cultural artifacts.However,existing poster generation methods mainly rely on fixed templates and manual design,which limits their scalability and adaptability to the diverse visual and semantic features of the artifacts.Therefore,we propose CAPGen,an automated aesthetic Cultural Artifacts Poster Generation framework built on a Multimodal Large Language Model(MLLM)with integrated iterative optimization.During our research,we collaborated with designers to define principles of graphic design for cultural artifact posters,to guide the MLLM in generating layout parameters.Later,we generated these parameters into posters.Finally,we refined the posters using an MLLM integrated with a multi-round iterative optimization mechanism.Qualitative results show that CAPGen consistently outperforms baseline methods in both visual quality and aesthetic performance.Furthermore,ablation studies indicate that the prompt,iterative optimization mechanism,and design principles significantly enhance the effectiveness of poster generation. 展开更多

Cooperative Metaheuristics with Dynamic Dimension Reduction for High-Dimensional Optimization Problems

Owing to their global search capabilities and gradient-free operation,metaheuristic algorithms are widely applied to a wide range of optimization problems.However,their computational demands become prohibitive when tackling high-dimensional optimization challenges.To effectively address these challenges,this study introduces cooperative metaheuristics integrating dynamic dimension reduction(DR).Building upon particle swarm optimization(PSO)and differential evolution(DE),the proposed cooperative methods C-PSO and C-DE are developed.In the proposed methods,the modified principal components analysis(PCA)is utilized to reduce the dimension of design variables,thereby decreasing computational costs.The dynamic DR strategy implements periodic execution of modified PCA after a fixed number of iterations,resulting in the important dimensions being dynamically identified.Compared with the static one,the dynamic DR strategy can achieve precise identification of important dimensions,thereby enabling accelerated convergence toward optimal solutions.Furthermore,the influence of cumulative contribution rate thresholds on optimization problems with different dimensions is investigated.Metaheuristic algorithms(PSO,DE)and cooperative metaheuristics(C-PSO,C-DE)are examined by 15 benchmark functions and two engineering design problems(speed reducer and composite pressure vessel).Comparative results demonstrate that the cooperative methods achieve significantly superior performance compared to standard methods in both solution accuracy and computational efficiency.Compared to standard metaheuristic algorithms,cooperative metaheuristics achieve a reduction in computational cost of at least 40%.The cooperative metaheuristics can be effectively used to tackle both high-dimensional unconstrained and constrained optimization problems. 展开更多

Automated essay scoring(AES)systems have gained significant importance in educational settings,offering a scalable,efficient,and objective method for evaluating student essays.However,developing AES systems for Arabic poses distinct challenges due to the language’s complex morphology,diglossia,and the scarcity of annotated datasets.This paper presents a hybrid approach to Arabic AES by combining text-based,vector-based,and embeddingbased similarity measures to improve essay scoring accuracy while minimizing the training data required.Using a large Arabic essay dataset categorized into thematic groups,the study conducted four experiments to evaluate the impact of feature selection,data size,and model performance.Experiment 1 established a baseline using a non-machine learning approach,selecting top-N correlated features to predict essay scores.The subsequent experiments employed 5-fold cross-validation.Experiment 2 showed that combining embedding-based,text-based,and vector-based features in a Random Forest(RF)model achieved an R2 of 88.92%and an accuracy of 83.3%within a 0.5-point tolerance.Experiment 3 further refined the feature selection process,demonstrating that 19 correlated features yielded optimal results,improving R2 to 88.95%.In Experiment 4,an optimal data efficiency training approach was introduced,where training data portions increased from 5%to 50%.The study found that using just 10%of the data achieved near-peak performance,with an R2 of 85.49%,emphasizing an effective trade-off between performance and computational costs.These findings highlight the potential of the hybrid approach for developing scalable Arabic AES systems,especially in low-resource environments,addressing linguistic challenges while ensuring efficient data usage. 展开更多

Energy Optimization for Autonomous Mobile Robot Path Planning Based on Deep Reinforcement Learning

At present,energy consumption is one of the main bottlenecks in autonomous mobile robot development.To address the challenge of high energy consumption in path planning for autonomous mobile robots navigating unknown and complex environments,this paper proposes an Attention-Enhanced Dueling Deep Q-Network(ADDueling DQN),which integrates a multi-head attention mechanism and a prioritized experience replay strategy into a Dueling-DQN reinforcement learning framework.A multi-objective reward function,centered on energy efficiency,is designed to comprehensively consider path length,terrain slope,motion smoothness,and obstacle avoidance,enabling optimal low-energy trajectory generation in 3D space from the source.The incorporation of a multihead attention mechanism allows the model to dynamically focus on energy-critical state features—such as slope gradients and obstacle density—thereby significantly improving its ability to recognize and avoid energy-intensive paths.Additionally,the prioritized experience replay mechanism accelerates learning from key decision-making experiences,suppressing inefficient exploration and guiding the policy toward low-energy solutions more rapidly.The effectiveness of the proposed path planning algorithm is validated through simulation experiments conducted in multiple off-road scenarios.Results demonstrate that AD-Dueling DQN consistently achieves the lowest average energy consumption across all tested environments.Moreover,the proposed method exhibits faster convergence and greater training stability compared to baseline algorithms,highlighting its global optimization capability under energy-aware objectives in complex terrains.This study offers an efficient and scalable intelligent control strategy for the development of energy-conscious autonomous navigation systems. 展开更多

Multi-label feature selection(MFS)is a crucial dimensionality reduction technique aimed at identifying informative features associated with multiple labels.However,traditional centralized methods face significant challenges in privacy-sensitive and distributed settings,often neglecting label dependencies and suffering from low computational efficiency.To address these issues,we introduce a novel framework,Fed-MFSDHBCPSO—federated MFS via dual-layer hybrid breeding cooperative particle swarm optimization algorithm with manifold and sparsity regularization(DHBCPSO-MSR).Leveraging the federated learning paradigm,Fed-MFSDHBCPSO allows clients to perform local feature selection(FS)using DHBCPSO-MSR.Locally selected feature subsets are encrypted with differential privacy(DP)and transmitted to a central server,where they are securely aggregated and refined through secure multi-party computation(SMPC)until global convergence is achieved.Within each client,DHBCPSO-MSR employs a dual-layer FS strategy.The inner layer constructs sample and label similarity graphs,generates Laplacian matrices to capture the manifold structure between samples and labels,and applies L2,1-norm regularization to sparsify the feature subset,yielding an optimized feature weight matrix.The outer layer uses a hybrid breeding cooperative particle swarm optimization algorithm to further refine the feature weight matrix and identify the optimal feature subset.The updated weight matrix is then fed back to the inner layer for further optimization.Comprehensive experiments on multiple real-world multi-label datasets demonstrate that Fed-MFSDHBCPSO consistently outperforms both centralized and federated baseline methods across several key evaluation metrics. 展开更多

This research was aimed to optimize the extraction conditions of three phenolic compounds: total phenolics, flavonoids and condensed tannins, from White Horehound’s leaves (Marrubium vulgare L.). Distilled water and different organic solvents such as: methanol, ethanol and acetone, were used, with various concentrations (20% - 80%, v/v), temperatures (20&deg;C - 60&deg;C) and extraction times (30 - 450 min). Results showed that the maximum total phenolics amounts (293.34 ± 14.60 mg gallic acid equivalent/g dry weigh), were obtained with 60% aqueous methanol at 25&deg;C for 180 min;total flavonoids (79.52 ± 0.55 mg catechin equivalent/g dry weigh) with 80% aqueous methanol at 20&deg;C for 450 min, and condensed tannins (28.15 ± 0.80 mg catechin equivalent/g dry weigh) with 60% aqueous acetone at 50&deg;C and for 180 min. ANOVA test showed the significant effect (***P < 0.001) of the extraction conditions tested on phenolic compounds. The Principal Component Analysis (PCA) exhibited the positive effect of low temperatures on total phenolics and flavonoids extraction, and the effect of high temperatures on the condensed tannins extraction. The Response Surface Methodology (RSM) provided predicted values of extraction conditions and maximum polyphenols amounts similar to those obtained experimentally. 展开更多

The current mathematical models for the storage assignment problem are generally established based on the traveling salesman problem(TSP),which has been widely applied in the conventional automated storage and retrieval system(AS/RS).However,the previous mathematical models in conventional AS/RS do not match multi-tier shuttle warehousing systems(MSWS) because the characteristics of parallel retrieval in multiple tiers and progressive vertical movement destroy the foundation of TSP.In this study,a two-stage open queuing network model in which shuttles and a lift are regarded as servers at different stages is proposed to analyze system performance in the terms of shuttle waiting period(SWP) and lift idle period(LIP) during transaction cycle time.A mean arrival time difference matrix for pairwise stock keeping units(SKUs) is presented to determine the mean waiting time and queue length to optimize the storage assignment problem on the basis of SKU correlation.The decomposition method is applied to analyze the interactions among outbound task time,SWP,and LIP.The ant colony clustering algorithm is designed to determine storage partitions using clustering items.In addition,goods are assigned for storage according to the rearranging permutation and the combination of storage partitions in a 2D plane.This combination is derived based on the analysis results of the queuing network model and on three basic principles.The storage assignment method and its entire optimization algorithm method as applied in a MSWS are verified through a practical engineering project conducted in the tobacco industry.The applying results show that the total SWP and LIP can be reduced effectively to improve the utilization rates of all devices and to increase the throughput of the distribution center. 展开更多

This article uses the optimization model, considering rural labor, cattle size, and animal disease risk, to analyze and get optimum result range. Sinter is the core raw material for blast furnaces.Flue pressure,which is an important state parameter,affects sinter quality.In this paper,flue pressure prediction and optimization were studied based on the shapley additive explanation(SHAP)to predict the flue pressure and take targeted adjustment measures.First,the sintering process data were collected and processed.A flue pressure prediction model was then constructed after comparing different feature selection methods and model algorithms using SHAP+extremely random-ized trees(ET).The prediction accuracy of the model within the error range of±0.25 kPa was 92.63%.SHAP analysis was employed to improve the interpretability of the prediction model.The effects of various sintering operation parameters on flue pressure,the relation-ship between the numerical range of key operation parameters and flue pressure,the effect of operation parameter combinations on flue pressure,and the prediction process of the flue pressure prediction model on a single sample were analyzed.A flue pressure optimization module was also constructed and analyzed when the prediction satisfied the judgment conditions.The operating parameter combination was then pushed.The flue pressure was increased by 5.87%during the verification process,achieving a good optimization effect. 展开更多

A Novel Hybrid Optimization Algorithm for Materialized View Selection from Data Warehouse Environments

Responding to complex analytical queries in the data warehouse(DW)is one of the most challenging tasks that require prompt attention.The problem of materialized view(MV)selection relies on selecting the most optimal views that can respond to more queries simultaneously.This work introduces a combined approach in which the constraint handling process is combined with metaheuristics to select the most optimal subset of DW views from DWs.The proposed work initially refines the solution to enable a feasible selection of views using the ensemble constraint handling technique(ECHT).The constraints such as self-adaptive penalty,epsilon(ε)-parameter and stochastic ranking(SR)are considered for constraint handling.These two constraints helped the proposed model select the finest views that minimize the objective function.Further,a novel and effective combination of Ebola and coot optimization algorithms named hybrid Ebola with coot optimization(CHECO)is introduced to choose the optimal MVs.Ebola and Coot have recently introduced metaheuristics that identify the global optimal set of views from the given population.By combining these two algorithms,the proposed framework resulted in a highly optimized set of views with minimized costs.Several cost functions are described to enable the algorithm to choose the finest solution from the problem space.Finally,extensive evaluations are conducted to prove the performance of the proposed approach compared to existing algorithms.The proposed framework resulted in a view maintenance cost of 6,329,354,613,784,query processing cost of 3,522,857,483,566 and execution time of 226 s when analyzed using the TPC-H benchmark dataset. 展开更多

To enhance the efficiency of warehouse order management,this study investigates a dual-com-mand operation mode in the Flying-V non-traditional warehouse layout.Three dual-command opera-tion strategies are designed,and a dual-command operation path optimization model is established with the shortest path as the optimization goal.Furthermore,a genetic algorithm based on a dynamic decoding strategy is proposed.Simulation results demonstrate that the Flying-V layout warehouse management and access cooperation operation can reduce the operation time by an average of 25%-35%compared with the single access operation path,and by an average of 13%-23%compared with the‘deposit first and then pick’operation path.These findings provide evidence for the effec-tiveness of the optimization model and algorithm. 展开更多

随着柴油机功率密度的提升,主轴承组合结构将面临主轴承变形加剧、关键部件强度下降等可靠性问题。以主轴承组合结构作为优化设计对象,将强度、刚度、接触强度和轻量化表现作为优化目标,构建多结构特性协同优化设计数学模型。针对传统... 随着柴油机功率密度的提升,主轴承组合结构将面临主轴承变形加剧、关键部件强度下降等可靠性问题。以主轴承组合结构作为优化设计对象,将强度、刚度、接触强度和轻量化表现作为优化目标,构建多结构特性协同优化设计数学模型。针对传统快速和精英保留多目标遗传算法(Non-dominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm Ⅱ,NSGA-Ⅱ)在求解小种群规模、有限进化代数的复杂工程问题时计算效率低的问题,基于Pareto优化理论,引入自适应策略及固定候选集随机测试算法,提出改进的大象放牧优化(Elephant Herding Optimization,EHO)算法用于求解多结构特性协同优化设计数学模型,并对算法性能及协同优化设计方案进行试验验证。研究结果表明:在小种群规模和有限进化代数下,改进EHO算法的求解能力更强,计算效率更高;在质量波动仅为0.6%的情况下,机体和主轴承座的应力分别降低18.67%和11.06%;各考察截面失圆度平均值降低14.39%;机体与主轴承座接触面最大接触压力降低18.92%。 展开更多

Present of wind power is sporadically and cannot be utilized as the only fundamental load of energy sources.This paper proposes a wind-solar hybrid energy storage system(HESS)to ensure a stable supply grid for a longer period.A multi-objective genetic algorithm(MOGA)and state of charge(SOC)region division for the batteries are introduced to solve the objective function and configuration of the system capacity,respectively.MATLAB/Simulink was used for simulation test.The optimization results show that for a 0.5 MW wind power and 0.5 MW photovoltaic system,with a combination of a 300 Ah lithium battery,a 200 Ah lead-acid battery,and a water storage tank,the proposed strategy reduces the system construction cost by approximately 18,000 yuan.Additionally,the cycle count of the electrochemical energy storage systemincreases from4515 to 4660,while the depth of discharge decreases from 55.37%to 53.65%,achieving shallow charging and discharging,thereby extending battery life and reducing grid voltage fluctuations significantly.The proposed strategy is a guide for stabilizing the grid connection of wind and solar power generation,capability allocation,and energy management of energy conservation systems. 展开更多

Single-pixel imaging(SPI)enables efficient sensing in challenging conditions.However,the requirement for numerous samplings constrains its practicality.We address the challenge of high-quality SPI reconstruction at ultra-low sampling rates.We develop an alternative optimization with physics and a data-driven diffusion network(APD-Net).It features alternative optimization driven by the learned task-agnostic natural image prior and the task-specific physics prior.During the training stage,APD-Net harnesses the power of diffusion models to capture data-driven statistics of natural signals.In the inference stage,the physics prior is introduced as corrective guidance to ensure consistency between the physics imaging model and the natural image probability distribution.Through alternative optimization,APD-Net reconstructs data-efficient,high-fidelity images that are statistically and physically compliant.To accelerate reconstruction,initializing images with the inverse SPI physical model reduces the need for reconstruction inference from 100 to 30 steps.Through both numerical simulations and real prototype experiments,APD-Net achieves high-quality,full-color reconstructions of complex natural images at a low sampling rate of 1%.In addition,APD-Net’s tuning-free nature ensures robustness across various imaging setups and sampling rates.Our research offers a broadly applicable approach for various applications,including but not limited to medical imaging and industrial inspection. 展开更多

Optimization of the Number and Location of Boreholes for Gassy Soil Site Investigation Considering the Statistical Uncertainty

The research addresses the prevalence of gassy soil, containing methane (CH4), within the soil particles of southeast coastal areas of China, such as the Quaternary deposit in the Hangzhou Bay area. This soil exhibits spatial variability in the distribution of gas pressure, posing a potential threat of engineering disasters, including fire outbreaks and blasting, during the construction of underground projects. Consequently, it is crucial to assess the risk state of gas pressure, involving accurate identification and reduction of associated uncertainty, through site investigation. This is indispensable prior to the commencement of underground projects. However, during the site investigation stage, the random field parameters that quantify the spatial variability distribution of gas pressure (e.g., mean value, standard deviations, and scale of fluctuation) are unknown, introducing corresponding statistical uncertainty. Therefore, the most significant consideration for planning site investigation from an engineering perspective involves determining the risk state of gas pressure while considering the statistical uncertainty of these random field parameters. This consideration heavily relies on the engineering experience gained from current site investigation practices. To address this challenge, the study introduces a probabilistic site investigation optimization method designed for planning the site investigation scheme for gassy soils, including determining the number and locations of boreholes. The method is based on the expected state-identification probability, representing the probability of identifying the risk state of gas pressure, and takes into account the statistical uncertainty of random field parameters. The proposed method aims to determine an optimal investigation scheme before conducting the site investigation, leveraging prior knowledge. This optimal scheme is identified using Subset Simulation Optimization (SSO) in the space of candidate site investigations, maximizing the value of the expected state-identification probability at the minimal value point. Finally, the paper illustrates the proposed approach through a case study. 展开更多

Considering the uncertainty of grid connection of electric vehicle charging stations and the uncertainty of new energy and residential electricity load,a spatio-temporal decoupling strategy of dynamic reactive power optimization based on clustering-local relaxation-correction is proposed.Firstly,the k-medoids clustering algorithm is used to divide the reduced power scene into periods.Then,the discrete variables and continuous variables are optimized in the same period of time.Finally,the number of input groups of parallel capacitor banks(CB)in multiple periods is fixed,and then the secondary static reactive power optimization correction is carried out by using the continuous reactive power output device based on the static reactive power compensation device(SVC),the new energy grid-connected inverter,and the electric vehicle charging station.According to the characteristics of the model,a hybrid optimization algorithm with a cross-feedback mechanism is used to solve different types of variables,and an improved artificial hummingbird algorithm based on tent chaotic mapping and adaptive mutation is proposed to improve the solution efficiency.The simulation results show that the proposed decoupling strategy can obtain satisfactory optimization resultswhile strictly guaranteeing the dynamic constraints of discrete variables,and the hybrid algorithm can effectively solve the mixed integer nonlinear optimization problem. 展开更多
