The x-ray energies and transition rates associated with single and double electron radiative transitions from the double K hole state 2s2p to the 1s2s and 1s^2 configurations of 11 selected He-like ions(10 ≤ Z ≤ 47) are calculated using the fully relativistic multi-configuration Dirac–Fock method(MCDF). An appropriate electron correlation model is constructed with the aid of the active space method, which allows the electron correlation effects to be studied efficiently. The contributions of the electron correlation and the Breit interaction to the transition properties are analyzed in detail. It is found that the two-electron one-photon(TEOP) transition is correlation sensitive. The Breit interaction and electron correlation both contribute significantly to the radiative transition properties of the double K hole state of the He-like ions. Good agreement between the present calculation and previous work is achieved. The calculated data will be helpful to future investigations on double K hole decay processes of He-like ions. 展开更多

Two-electron and one-photon transitions in highly charged nickel-like ions

This paper calculates the transition wavelengths and probabilities of the two-electron and one-photon (TEOP) transition from the (3s1/2^-14dj)J=1,2 to (3P3/2^-14s1/2)J=1 and the (3P1/2^-14s1/2)J=1 to (3dj^-14dj')J=1,2 for highly charged Ni-like ions with atomic number Z in the range 47 〈 Z 〈 92. In the calculations, the multi-configuration Dirac-Fock method and corresponding program packages GRASP92 and REOS99 were used, and the relativistic effects, correlation effects and relaxation effects were considered systematically. It is found that the TEOP transitions are very sensitive to the correlation of electrons, and the probabilities will be enhanced sharply in some special Z regions along the isoelectronic sequence. The present TEOP transition wavelengths are compared with the available data from some previous publications, good agreement is obtained. 展开更多

Rotational isomerism effects on the optical spectra of a push-pull nonlinear optical chro-mophore 2-dicyanomethylen-3-cyano-4-f2-[E-(4-N,N-di(2-acetoxyethyl)-amino)-phenylene-(3,4-dibutyl)-thien-5]-E-vinylg-5,5-dimethyl-2,5-dihydrofuran (FTC) in a few solvents have been studied using the time-dependent density functional theory in combination with the polarizable continuum model. It is shown that the maximum absorption peaks of the ro-tamers have difference of nearly 30 nm both in vacuum and in solutions. The population of the rotamers changes a lot in different solvents. Based on the geometries optimized by Hartree-Fock method, the Maxwell-Boltzmann averaged absorption has been calculated and the maximum absorption peak is in good agreement with experiment. It indicates that the bond length alternation can have an important effect on the optical spectra. 展开更多

Broad-spectrum absorption and highly effective charge-carrier separation are two essential requirements to improve the photocatalytic performance of semiconductor-based photocatalysts.In this work,a fascinating one-photon system is reported by rationally fabricating 2D in-plane Bi_(2)O_(3)/BiOCl(i-Cl)heterostructures for efficient photocatalytic degradation of RhB and TC.Systematic investigations revealed that the matched band structure generated an internal electric field and a chemical bond connection between the Bi_(2)O_(3)and BiOCl in the Bi_(2)O_(3)/BiOCl composite that could effectively improve the utilization ratio of visible light and the separation effectivity of photo-generated carriers in space.The formed interactions at the 2D in-plane heterojunction interface induced the one-photon excitation pathway which has been confirmed by the experiment and DFT calculations.As a result,the i-Cl samples showed significantly enhanced photocatalytic efficiency towards the degradation of RhB and TC(RhB:0.106 min^(-1);TC:0.048 min^(-1))under visible light.The degradation activities of RhB and TC for i-Cl were 265.08 and 4.08times that of pure BiOCl,as well as 9.27 and 2.14 times that of mechanistically mixed Bi_(2)O_(3)/BiOCl samples,respectively.This work provides a logical strategy to construct other 2D in-plane heterojunctions with a one-photon excitation pathway with enhanced performance. 展开更多

Partial genetically encoded 4-hy-droxybenzylidene-imidazolinone(HBI)-type chromophores are new promising fluorescent probes,which are suitable for imaging and detection of living cells.How-ever,the lack of infrared chro-mophores hinders the develop-ment seriously.Here more than 30 HBI-type chromophores with reg-ular structure modifications were employed and typical spectral redshift change laws and mechanisms were investigated by quantum methods.Results show that both one-photon spectrum(OPS,absorption/emission)and two-photon absorption(TPA)can achieve large redshift via either extending conjugated lengths of frag-3 or enlarging conjugated areas of frag-1 of HBI skeleton.Spectral redshifts of all chromophores are highly related to intramolecular charge transfer(ICT),but neutral ones are closely related to the total ICT or electron-accept-ing-numbers of frag-3,and the high correlative factor of anions is the aromaticity of frag-2 bridge.The frag-2 bridge with high aromaticity can open a reverse charge transfer channel in anion relative to neutral,obtaining significant redshift.Based on analysis,a new 6-hydroxyl-naphthalene-imidazolinone(HNI)series,which have larger conjugated area in frag-1,are pre-dicted.The OPS and TPA of anionic HNI ones acquire about 76−96 nm and 119−146 nm red-shift relative to traditional HBI series respectively as a whole.The longest emission of anionic HNI-4 realizes more 244 nm redshift relative to HBI-1.Our work clarifies worthy spectral reg-ularities and redshift mechanisms of HBI-type chromophores and provides valuable design strategy for infrared chromophores synthesis in experiment. 展开更多

Recently, the quantum description of electromagnetic waves in conducting media has been performed. It has been demonstrated that in particular case, the Hamiltonian of the corresponding field can be expressed by Caldirola–Kanai Hamiltonian. In this paper, using the associated annihilation and creation operators of the above-mentioned quantized field, the time-and conductivity-dependent squeezed vacuum and one-photon squeezed states as well as their superpositions, and also the time-and conductivity-dependent excited even and odd coherent states are produced. Also,using a few well-known nonclassicality criteria, the time evolution of nonclassicality features of the above classes of obtained states, in addition to the influence of medium conductivity on them are demonstrated, numerically. It has been shown that the nonclassicality indicators may be adjusted by tuning the conductivity of media. 展开更多

A novel carbazole quaternary ammonium compound(abbreviated as T_2) had been synthesized and characterized by ~1H NMR, ^(13)C NMR and Mass spectrometry. The single-crystal structure has been determined by X-ray single-crystal diffraction. The electrochemical and two-photon absorption properties of T_2 were systematically studied by cyclic voltammetry and Z-scan determination methods, respectively. The results suggested that T_2 had a good oxidation-reduction and excellent nonlinear optical property. The two-photon absorption(TPA) value has a maximum corresponding to cross section σ = 7963.3 GM(Goeppert-Mayer units) at 700 nm, indicating potential applications in nonlinear optical materials. Furthermore, attributing to the excellent water solubility and low cytotoxicity, the compound was explored on its primary application in biological imaging. 展开更多

With the rapid development of life sciences, there is an increasing demand for intravital fluorescence imaging of small animals. However, large dimensions and limited working distances of objective lenses in traditional fluorescence microscopes have limited their imaging applications mostly to superficial tissues. To overcome these disadvantages, researchers have developed the graded-index (GRIN) probes with small diameters for imaging internal organs of small animals in a minimally invasive fashion. However, dynamic imaging based on GRIN lens has not been studied extensively. Here, this paper presented a fluorescence endoscopic imaging system based on GRiN lenses using one-photon and two-photon excitation. GRIN lenses with 1.15 mm diameter and 7.65 mm length were used in the system. The images were acquired by a compact laser scanning imaging system with a resonant galvo-mirror system to scan the laser beam and a photomultiplier tube (PMT) to detect fluorescence signals. Experimental results showed that this system using two-photon excitation could implement dynamic fluorescence microendoscopic imaging and monitor the movement of blood flow beneath the skin in anesthetized mice while producing images with higher contrast and signal to noise ratio (SNR) than those using one photon excitation. It would be a useful tool for studying biological processes of small animals or plants in vivo. 展开更多

A mean position state based on the gauge invariant transverse vector potential is used to convert single-photon states in Hilbert space to photon wave packets in direct space. The resulting photon wave-mechanical description leads to scalar products which relate to covariant integration on the light cone. A new correlation matrix displays the spatial localization problem for single photons in an explicit manner in space-time. The correlation matrix essentially is the projection of the time-ordered Feynman photon propagator onto the transverse photon subspace. The present photon wave-mechanical formalism is generalized to two-photon dynamics. In the diamagnetic limit the transverse photon becomes massive in its interaction with matter, and the correlation matrix for massivephoton interaction, which can be used in studies of evanescent-photon mediated couplings, is analyzed. On the basis of the present formalism the existence of a dynamical near-field Aharonov-Bohm effect is predicted. 展开更多

Theoretical Study on One- and Two-Photon Absorption Properties of PPV Derivative with Electron-Donor Phenylanthracene as Pendent Group

Based on the equilibrium structures from quantum mechanics AM1 method, employing INDO/CI method and the sum-over-state (SOS) formula, the one-photon absorption (OPA) and two-photon absorption (TPA) properties as well as the second hyperpolarizabilities were discussed in detail for a kind of PPV derivative poly 2-(9-phenylanthracen-10-yl)-1,4-phenylenevinylene (P1). The results indicate that the two-photon cross section (3) increases with the increasing of the number of repeating segment (n), however only a slight increase corresponds to the increasing of molecular weight when the repeating unit number arrives at a certain number. From this point of view, the TPA cross section values of P1 were extrapolated through the linear fit of 3 value vs. 1/n. The δ value of P1 is as high as 181 GM (1 GM=10^-50 cm^4·s·photon^-1). Concerning the influence of pendent group and extension of π-conjugation on 3 values, another four oligomers P2, PPV, P1-1, and P2-1 were investigated for comparison. The calculation results reveal that the position and property of pendent group have great influence on the OPA and TPA properties. A most crucial role for relatively larger 3 value was played by the extension of π-conjugation. 展开更多
