In this study, physical model experiments under unidirectional flow, bidirectional flow, and wave-current interactions with different flow directions around the pile group foundation were first conducted to investigate the development of scour around the pile group foundation.Additionally, a three-dimensional scour numerical model was established via the open-source software REEF3D to simulate the flow field and scour around the prototype-scale foundation. The impact of flow on scour was discussed.Under unidirectional flow, scour equilibrium was reached more quickly, with the maximum scour depth reaching approximately 1.2 times the pile diameter and the extent of the scour hole spanning about 4.9 times the pile diameter.Compared with those under unidirectional flow, the scour depths under combinations of currents and waves, as well as bidirectional flow, were slightly smaller. However, the morphology of scour holes was more uniform and symmetrical. The numerical simulation results show good agreement with the experimental data, demonstrating the impact of varying flow directions on the velocity distribution around the foundation, the morphology of scour holes, and the location of the maximum scour depth.展开更多

The effects of wind and wave actions are considered by inputting response- equivalent accelerations on the shaking table. The test results show that the control effect of the TLCD system is significant in reducing the responses under both wind-wave equivalent loads and ground motions, but obviously varies for different inputs, Further, a blade-hub-tower integrated numerical model for the wind turbine system is established. The model is capable of considering the rotational effect of blades by combining Kane's equation with the finite element method. The responses of the wind tower equipped with TLCD devices are numerically obtained and compared to the test results, showing that under both controlled and uncontrolled conditions with and without blades' rotation, the corresponding responses exhibit good agreement. This demonstrates that the proposed numerical model performs well in capturing the wind-wave coupled response of the offshore wind turbine systems under control. Both numerical and experimental results show that the TLCD system can significantly reduce the structural response and thus improve the safety and serviceability of the offshore wind turbine tower systems. Additional issues that require further study are discussed.展开更多

The finite element model of a large-scale prestressing bucket founda- tion for offshore wind turbines is set up and the structural characteristics of the arc transition structure of the founda- tion are analyzed for 40-60 channels(20-30 rows) arranged with prestressing steel strand under the same ultimate load and boundary conditions. The mechanical characteristics of the key parts of the foundation structures are illus- trated by the peak of the principal tensile stress, the peak of the principal compressive stress and the distribution areas where the principal tensile stress is larger than 2.00 MPa. It can be concluded that the maximum principal tensile stress of the arc transition decreases with the increasing number of channels, and the amplitude does not change signifi- cantly; the maximum principal compressive stress increases with the increasing number of channels and the amplitude changes significantly; however, for the distribution areas where the principal tensile stress is larger than 2.00 MPa, with different channel numbers, the phenomenon is not obvious. Furthermore, the principal tensile stress at the top of the foundation beams fluctuantly increases with the increasing number of channels and for the top cover of the bucket, the principal tensile stress decreases with the increasing number of channels.展开更多

The present study takes the advantage of the famous LS-DYNA explicit code to simulate the dynamic proeess of the collision between a typical 3MW offshore wind turbine model with monopile fi)undation and a simplified 2000t-class ship model. In the simulation, the added mass effect of the ship, contact nonlinearity of collision, material nonlinearity of steel and aluminum foam and adaptive mesh tectmique for large structure deformation have been taken into considera- tion. Proposed is a crashworthy device for OWF of new conceptual steel sphere shell-cireular ring aluminum foam pad, and the good pe.rfurmanee of the device under the conditions of ship-OWT front impact and side impact has been verified from the views of theoretical analysis and numerical results. The numerical simulation results show good agreement with the experimental data, demonstrating the impact of varying flow directions on the velocity distribution around the foundation, the morphology of scour holes, and the location of the maximum scour depth.

文摘Complicated loads encountered by floating offshore wind turbines(FOWTs)in real sea conditions are crucial for future optimization of design, but obtaining data on them directly poses a challenge. To address this issue,we applied machine learning techniques to obtain hydrodynamic and aerodynamic loads of FOWTs by measuring platform motion responses and wave-elevation sequences.First,a computational fluid dynamics(CFD)simulation model of the floating platform was established based on the dynamic fluid body interaction technique and overset grid technology. Then,a long short-term memory(LSTM)neural network model was constructed and trained to learn the nonlinear relationship between the waves,platform-motion inputs, and hydrodynamic-load outputs. The optimal model was determined after analyzing the sensitivity of parameters such as sample characteristics, network layers, and neuron numbers.Subsequently, the effectiveness of the hydrodynamic load model was validated under different simulation conditions, and the aerodynamic load calculation was completed based on the D'Alembert principle. Finally,we built a hybrid-scale FOWT model, based on the software in the loop strategy,in which the wind turbine was replaced by an actuation system.Model tests were carried out in a wave basin and the results demonstrated that the root mean square errors of the hydrodynamic and aerodynamic load measurements were 4.20%and 10.68%,respectively.

文摘As the core facility of offshore wind power systems, the structural safety of offshore booster stations directly impacts the stable operation of entire wind farms. With the global energy transition toward green and lowcarbon goals, offshore wind power has emerged as a key renewable energy source, yet its booster stations face harsh marine environments, including persistent wave impacts, salt spray corrosion, and equipment-induced vibrations.Traditional monitoring methods relying on manual inspections and single-dimensional sensors suffer from critical limitations:low efficiency, poor real-time performance, and inability to capture millinewton-level stress fluctuations that signal early structural fatigue. To address these challenges, this study proposes a biomechanics-driven structural safety monitoring system integrated with deep learning.Inspired by biological stress-sensing mechanisms, the system deploys a distributedmulti-dimensional force sensor network to capture real-time stress distributions in key structural components.A hybrid convolutional neural network-radial basis function(CNN-RBF)model is developed:the CNN branch extracts spatiotemporal features from multi-source sensing data, while the RBF branch reconstructs the nonlinear stress field for accurate anomaly diagnosis. The three-tier architectural design—data layer(distributed sensor array),function layer(CNN-RBF modeling),and application layer(edge computing terminal)—enables a closedloop process from high-resolution data collection to real-time early warning, with data processing delay controlled within 200 ms.Experimental validation against traditional SOM-based systems demonstrates significant performance improvements:monitoring accuracy increased by 19.8%,efficiency by 23.4%,recall rate by 20.5%,and F1 score by 21.6%.Under extreme weather(e.g.,typhoons and winter storms),the system’s stability is 40% higher, with user satisfaction improving by 17.2%.The biomechanics-inspired sensor design enhances survival rates in salt fog(85.7%improvement)and dynamic loads, highlighting its robust engineering applicability for intelligent offshore wind farm maintenance.

文摘In order to study the towing dynamic properties of the large-scale composite bucket foundation the hydrodynamic software MOSES is used to simulate the dynamic motion of the foundation towed to the construction site. The MOSES model with the prototype size is established as the water draft of 5 and 6 m under the environmental conditions on site. The related factors such as towing force displacement towing accelerations in six degrees of freedom of the bucket foundation and air pressures inside the bucket are analyzed in detail. In addition the towing point and wave conditions are set as the critical factors to simulate the limit conditions of the stable dynamic characteristics. The results show that the large-scale composite bucket foundation with reasonable subdivisions inside the bucket has the satisfying floating stability.During the towing process the air pressures inside the bucket obviously change little and it is found that the towing point at the waterline is the most optimal choice. The characteristics of the foundation with the self-floating towing technique are competitive for saving lots of cost with few of the expensive types of equipment required during the towing transportation.
文摘With the economic development, the problems of energy shortage become increasingly severe. As offshore wind energy has advantages, namely it is clean, renewable, not accounting for land area, without noise pollution, with large reserves, etc., which gradually attracts people's attention. In this paper, China's offshore annual average wind field and monthly average wind field under the mean climate state conditions are obtained, and the corresponding wind density distribution is calculated. China's offshore wind energy reserves and distribution conditions through the analysis of wind energy density distribution are summarized, and finally some suggestions for coastal offshore wind energy development and utilization in China are put forward.
文摘The exploitation of wind energy is rapidly evolving and is manifested in the ever-expanding global network of offshore wind energy farms. For the Small Island Developing States of the Caribbean Sea(CS),harnessing this mature technology is an important first step in the transition away from fossil fuels. This paper uses buoy and satellite observations of surface wind speed in the CS to estimate wind energy resources over the 2009–201911-year period and initiates hour-ahead forecasting using the long short-term memory(LSTM)network.Observations of wind power density(WPD)at the 100-m height showed a mean of approximately 1000 W/m^(2) in the Colombia Basin, though this value decreases radially to 600–800 W/m^(2) in the central CS to a minimum of approximately 250 W/m^(2) at its borders in the Venezuela Basin. The Caribbean Low-Level Jet(CLLJ)is also responsible for the waxing and waning of surface wind speed and as such, resource stability, though stable as estimated through monthly and seasonal coefficients of variation,is naturally governed by CLLJ activity.Using a commercially available offshore wind turbine, wind energy generation at four locations in the CS is estimated.Electricity production is greatest and most stable in the central CS than at either its eastern or western borders.Wind speed forecasts are also found to be more accurate at this location, and though technology currently restricts offshore wind turbines to shallow water, outward migration to and colonization of deeper water is an attractive option for energy exploitation.

文摘In recent years, the construction of offshore wind farms is developing rapidly. As the wake effect of the upstream wind turbines seriously affect the performance of the downstream wind turbines, the wake effect of offshore wind turbines has become one of the research hotspots.First, this article reviews the research methods of wake effects, including CFD numerical simulation method, wind turbine wake model based on roughness and engineering wake models. However, there is no general model that can be used directly. Then it puts forward some factors that affect the wake of offshore wind turbines. The turbulence intensity in offshore wind fields is lower than that in onshore wind fields. This makes the wake recovery length of offshore wind turbines longer than that of onshore wind turbines.Floating offshore wind turbines are simultaneously disturbed by wind loads and wave loads.Unsteady movement of the platform caused by wave loads. It affects the development and changes of the wake of wind turbines. In this regard, the focus of research on the wake effects of offshore wind farms will be the proposal of accurate prediction models for the wake effects of sea wind farms.
文摘In this article, the authors give an overview of different logistics concepts for operation and maintenance of OWPP (offshore wind power plants). These can be generally classified into onshore based and offshore based concepts. The operation of OWPPs can still be improved as research has shown that the availability of OWPPs is low compared to onshore wind power plants. There are a few tools to calculate operating costs and to evaluate the different concepts. However, most tools have a weak focus on logistics although logistics account for a big share of the costs. The tool the authors are introducing in this article focuses on the logistics processes. It is first explained and then tested with an OWPP scenarin
文摘Based on mechanical characteristics such as large vertical load, large horizontal load, large bending moment and complex geological conditions, a large scale composite bucket foundation (CBF) is put forward. Both the theoretical analysis and numerical simulation are employed to study the bearing capacity of CBF and the relationship between loads and ground deformation. Furthermore, monopile, high-rise pile cap, tripod and CBF designs are compared to analyze the bearing capacity and ground deformation, with a 3-MW wind generator as an example. The resuits indicate that CBF can effectively bear horizontal load and large bending moment resulting from upper structures and environmental load.

文摘A wind turbine system equipped with a tuned liquid column damper (TLCD) is comprehensively studied via shaking table tests using a 1/13-scaled model. Additional issues that require further study are discussed.

文摘The key in the force transmission between the tower and the foundation for offshore wind turbines is to transfer the large moment and horizontal loads. Furthermore, the principal tensile stress at the top of the foundation beams fluctuantly increases with the increasing number of channels and for the top cover of the bucket, the principal tensile stress decreases with the increasing number of channels.

文摘At present, more and more offshore wind farms have been built anti ntnnerous projects are on the drawing tables. Therefore, the study on the safety of collision between ships and offshore wind turbines (OWT) is of great practical signifieance. The new crashworthy device can effectively smooth the contact force and reduce the top structure dynamic response, using its own structure plastic deformation to absorb most of the ship collision enerty. As a result, the main structure of the OWF and the inside key electric control equipments can be saved by scarifying the structural plastic deformation of new sphere crashworthy device. What is more, the sphere configuratiun design of the crashworthy device can effectively guide the ship to run away from the main OWT structure and reduce the damage of the ship and OWT to some degree during side impact.
