These models use stochastic differential equations which effectively reflect market characteristi...Different single-factor models are used to estimate the term structure of Hong Kong Inter-Bank Offered Rates (HIBOR). These models use stochastic differential equations which effectively reflect market characteristics of short- and long-term interest rates, such as capability of mean reversion and interest rate level fluctuation. For the period from 2005 to early 2007, the economy of Hong Kong had been relatively stable with pretty low volatilities in interest rate. However, starting from 2008 to beginning of 2012, the Hong Kong and the world economies had been steering from relatively stable to fluctuations, the 2008 financial tsunami initiated by the U,S. had been causing financial instability globally. With the U.S: government taking quantitative easing monetary policy, U.S. interest rates fluctuated and submerged rapidly. Volatility of HIBOR was extremely sensitive to fluctuation of U.S. interest rates, since Hong Kong dollar exchange rate has been pegged with U.S. dollar. In short, during the period of early 2008 to early 2012, volatility of short-term interest rate was extremely sensitive. Obviously, the term structure of interest rate for these two periods had made major shift, combining the two periods would lead to unfavorable econometric results.展开更多

Laser wakefield accelerators(LWFAs)offer acceleration gradients up to 1000 times higher than those of conventional radio-frequency accelerators,offering a pathway to significantly more compact and cost-effective accel...Laser wakefield accelerators(LWFAs)offer acceleration gradients up to 1000 times higher than those of conventional radio-frequency accelerators,offering a pathway to significantly more compact and cost-effective accelerator systems.This breakthrough opens up new possibilities for laboratory-scale light sources.All-optical inverse Compton scattering(AOCS)sources driven by LWFAs produce high-brightness,quasimonochromatic X rays with micrometer-scale source sizes,delivering the spatial coherence and resolution required for X-ray phase-contrast imaging(XPCI).These features position AOCS X-ray sources as promising tools for applications in biology,medicine,physics,and materials science.However,previous AOCS-based imaging studies have primarily focused on X-ray absorption imaging.In this work,we report successful experimental demonstrations of edge-enhanced in-line XPCI using energy-tunable,quasi-monochromatic AOCS X rays.With a spatial resolution of~20μm,our results clearly show the potential of high-resolution,AOCS-based XPCI applications.展开更多

Classifying job offers into occupational categories is a fundamental task in human resource information systems,as it improves and streamlines indexing,search,and matching between openings and job seekers.Comprehensiv...Classifying job offers into occupational categories is a fundamental task in human resource information systems,as it improves and streamlines indexing,search,and matching between openings and job seekers.Comprehensive occupational databases such as O∗NET or ESCO provide detailed taxonomies of interrelated positions that can be leveraged to align the textual content of postings with occupational categories,thereby facilitating standardization,cross-system interoperability,and access to metadata for each occupation(e.g.,tasks,knowledge,skills,and abilities).In this work,we explore the effectiveness of fine-tuning existing language models(LMs)to classify job offers with occupational descriptors from O∗NET.This enables a more precise assessment of candidate suitability by identifying the specific knowledge and skills required for each position,and helps automate recruitment processes by mitigating human bias and subjectivity in candidate selection.We evaluate three representative BERT-like models:BERT,RoBERTa,and DeBERTa.BERT serves as the baseline encoder-only architecture;RoBERTa incorporates advances in pretraining objectives and data scale;and DeBERTa introduces architectural improvements through disentangled attention mechanisms.The best performance was achieved with the DeBERTa model,although the other models also produced strong results,and no statistically significant differences were observed acrossmodels.We also find that these models typically reach optimal performance after only a few training epochs,and that training with smaller,balanced datasets is effective.Consequently,comparable results can be obtained with models that require fewer computational resources and less training time,facilitating deployment and practical use.展开更多

Blockchain technology and crowdfunding(CF)have emerged as disruptive forces in the finance and entrepreneurship landscape,potentially transforming traditional modes of capital raising and investment.This study investi...Blockchain technology and crowdfunding(CF)have emerged as disruptive forces in the finance and entrepreneurship landscape,potentially transforming traditional modes of capital raising and investment.This study investigates the intersection of blockchain technology and CF to provide a comprehensive overview of the current state of research through a systematic literature review and bibliometric analysis.By examining 219 publications sourced from Scopus,this study employed descriptive statistics,article co-citations,and keyword co-occurrence to identify key bibliometric indicators,themes,and trends.The findings reveal a surge in research activity related to blockchain and CF,emphasizing initial cryptocurrency offerings,financial technology(Fintech),and the role of blockchain in improving transactional efficiency,disintermediation,and venture capital CF.Keyword co-occurrence analysis reveals diverse research themes,including smart contracts,fundraising campaigns,sustainable entrepreneurship,and Islamic Fintech.Based on the findings of this analysis,several implications and directions for further investigation are highlighted.To the best of our knowledge,this is the first attempt to analyze the intersection of blockchain technology and CF using scientometric techniques systematically.展开更多
