In recent years,there has been an intensifying focus within the soil contamination prevention and remediation sector,both domestically and internationally,on the off-site disposal of contaminated soils.The United Stat...In recent years,there has been an intensifying focus within the soil contamination prevention and remediation sector,both domestically and internationally,on the off-site disposal of contaminated soils.The United States and Japan,as pioneers in this field,have formulated and implemented a suite of policy standards and practical measures for the regional collaborative management of off-site soil disposal.This paper meticulously reviews and evaluates the existing research on the regional collaborative management of off-site soil disposal,analyzing the experiences and strategies of the United States and Japan from the perspectives of regulatory systems and practical implementation.In light of China’s specific circumstances,it proposes a series of strategic recommendations for the adaptation of these international experiences to the Chinese context.These include enhancement of Chinese legal standards for the regional collaborative management of contaminated land soil off-site disposal,improvement of risk control standards for soil pollution and specific regulations for off-site disposal,as well as delineation of objective criteria to define the scope of collaborative management.展开更多
The Bose-Hubbard model with an effective off-site three-body tunneling,characterized by jumps towards one another,between one atom on a site and a pair atoms on the neighborhood site,is studied systematically on a one...The Bose-Hubbard model with an effective off-site three-body tunneling,characterized by jumps towards one another,between one atom on a site and a pair atoms on the neighborhood site,is studied systematically on a one-dimensional(1D) lattice,by using the density matrix renormalization group method.The off-site trimer superfluid,condensing at momentum k = 0,emerges in the softcore Bose-Hubbard model but it disappears in the hardcore Bose-Hubbard model.Our results numerically verify that the off-site trimer superfluid phase derived in the momentum space from[Phys.Rev.A81,011601(R)(2010)]is stable in the thermodynamic limit.The off-site trimer superfluid phase,the partially off-site trimer superfluid phase and the Mott insulator phase are found,as well as interesting phase transitions,such as the continuous or first-order phase transition from the trimer superfluid phase to the Mott insulator phase.Our results are helpful in realizing this novel off-site trimer superfluid phase by cold atom experiments.展开更多

However, many accidents occur during ONSM processes because of unstable equipment, complicated work environment, and human error. To reduce congestion and exposure to hazards during on-site operations and thereby reduce the probability of accidents, off-site maintenance(OFSM) is proposed based on Energy Release Theory(ERT). The information requirements for OFSM are analyzed. A support system for OFSM, which makes use of visualization, information management, and localization capabilities, is developed. A case study utilizing OFSM and its support system for an oil-loading facility of a petrochemical company is conducted. The application results indicated that implementation of OFSM system can significantly reduce the operation risks and can improve the operation efficiency.展开更多
Off-site construction(OSC)involves the fabrication and assembly of building com-ponents in a purpose-built factory which are then transported to the job site for final installation.OSC has proven to be a greener const...Off-site construction(OSC)involves the fabrication and assembly of building com-ponents in a purpose-built factory which are then transported to the job site for final installation.OSC has proven to be a greener construction approach,spurring research towards benchmarking the sustainable attributes of the technique.However,a quantitative statistical analysis of studies on OSC sustainability and a framework of the knowledge domain are not well-established.Drawing on 642 bibliographic records from Scopus,this paper conducted a bibliometric and visualized analysis of research on the sustainability of OSC from 1971 to 2019.The findings show that research publications on OSC sustainability only witnessed steady growth since 2000.A geospatial analysis revealed that at least 32%of countries are involved in the OSC sustainability research,of which the United States,China,Australia,the United Kingdom,and Canada make the greatest contributions.The hot topics in the contemporary OSC sustainability research were identified as embodied carbon,embodied energy,construction waste,post-occupancy evaluation,resources conserva-tion,and recycling,and cost savings.The paper identified areas that require further research.Thus,the paper offers an all-embracing understanding of the core research themes,trends,and patterns on OSC sustainability to stakeholders.展开更多
