According to the results, active and effective accumulated temperature in three different upland seedling nurturing treatments during seedling nurturing period were generally in a descending order of large shed 〉 middle shed 〉 small shed. The occurrence frequency of temperature exceeding the biological upper limit for rice growth in different upland seedling nurturing treatments demonstrated a descending order of large shed 〉 small shed 〉middle shed; the occurrence frequency of temperature below the biological lower limit demonstrated a descending order of small shed 〉 middle shed 〉 large shed.Plant height, root number, aboveground dry weight, underground dry weight and emergence rate varied significantly among different upland seedling nurturing modes, which showed a descending order of large shed 〉 middle shed 〉 small shed; leaf age and stem number in large shed was significantly higher than that in middle and small sheds, but there was no significant difference in leaf age and stem number between middle and small sheds; underground dry weight varied slightly between large and middle shed, but underground dry weight in large and middle shed was remarkably higher than that in small shed. In production, large-shed upland seedling nurturing is most appropriate technique, followed by middle-shed upland seedling nurturing. In large-shed upland seedling nurturing, ventilation and seedling hardening should be strengthened. Small-shed upland seedling nurturing technique is not recommended to be used in regions with low accumulated temperature at night. In small-shed upland seedling nurturing, the minimum temperature at night should be concerned, and heat preservation measures should be taken immediately when there is a sudden drop in temperature.展开更多

At present, the level of agricultural mechanization in China is promoted steadily; the science and technology are applied to agriculture extensively; the agricultural regionalization layout gradually takes shape; the agricultural industrialization management develops steadily. Be that as it may, the overall quality of farmers is low; the agricultural infrastructure is weak; the agricultural resources are limited; the inputs of agricultural science and technology are short. These hamper the development of modern agriculture. We should implement "industry nurturing agriculture"; through capital support and policy guidance, reform household registration system; connect the fragmented land into parcel; encourage the leading enterprises to develop in rural areas; establish agricultural cooperative organizations; deepen rural financial system reform; quicken the promotion and application of agricultural technology. These measures can effectively promote the development of agriculture, and realize the agricultural modernization in China.展开更多

The anthropological view, taken by Birdwhistell and others, is compared with a Darwinian perspective. In particular, the author looks at how physical appearance, space, and gestures function in a natural way to protect the individuals who are participating in the exchange. Apparent deceit is frequently the result of such interactions. While the traditional arguments arising from religious tenets are discussed, the author explains how the nature approach has been reinforced in the 20th and 21st centuries with DNA and neurological investigations. In the study of nonverbal communication, the arguments about nature and nurture began in the middle of the 20th century with anthropologists, especially Birdwhistell, taking the nurture stance and others taking the nature stance. Ekman's nature stance on kinesics started from premises suggested by Charles Darwin. In large measure, it is because of Ekman's extensive work that the "balance" has somewhat shifted toward a nature view.展开更多

Several higher learning institutions were randomly targeted. Several researchers were involved in the data collection by means of using questionnaires in the survey over a period of several weeks. The questionnaires were used to fred out about their academic and professional backgrounds, requiring them to list their roles pertinent to their experiences in teaching, ranked them and provided the rationale behind the choices made. Twenty-five samples were collected to scrutinize the data by categorizing the information according to gender and teaching experiences and recording the frequencies of answers. From the study, it is found that regardless of gender and teaching experiences, most participants would consider themselves as "Provider of knowledge", followed by "N^r", especially those who are relatively new in teaching. There is also an indication that teacher's experiences and gender might affect their perception in mirroring themselves. A larger scale of study is needed in validating the findings of this study for it to be empirical, thus promoting in-depth investigations in viewing whether gender and cultural background may be vital factors that has profound effects towards their professionalism. It is hoped that future studies will shed some light to this rather controversial claims.展开更多

These novelists from Quebec, Marie-Claire Blais, Anne Hebert, and Gabrielle Roy, show that their female characters are unable to let go of this myth of the incarnation in their bodies of the temptations leading to Sin. Consequently, these heroines show a violent disgust for their bodies, and for all sexual manifestations (puberty, pregnancey, child-birth) that they describe very crudely. They reject their bodies and live in shame of their bodies. For this reason, they dress with modesty and have a neurotic fear of the Sin of the Flesh. This Sin makes them want to withdraw from the image of the temptress Eve and to identify themselves to Mary, the sublimated woman. For Quebec novelist Gabrielle Roy, the female debt cannot be repaid by a sublimation of women to Mary, but by a sublimation of women's own talents. Gabrielle Roy sees her late birth as a debt contracted towards her very impoverished and old parents. Fortunately, in her adolescence, she rebels against this unfair contract that her family and especially her mother imposes on her and that wrongs her because it forces her to follow the career path of a school teacher to repay the debts of her family. She withdraws from this debt by leaving for France and following the career path of a writer. She will redeem the debt of her family by writing her autobiography which is a monument in sublimation of her mother展开更多

These measures can effectively promote the development of agriculture, and realize the agricultural modernization in China.
文摘Employing a qualitative view of issues in nonverbal communication, the author offers an explanation of the nature-nurture debate. In large measure, it is because of Ekman's extensive work that the "balance" has somewhat shifted toward a nature view.
文摘Spinal muscular atrophy is an autosomal recessive neuromuscular disease with incidence of 1 in 5000 to 10000 live births and is produced by homozygous deletion of exons 7 and 8 in the SMN1 gene. The SMN1 and SMN2 genes encode the survival motor neuron protein,a crucial protein for the preservation of motor neurons.Use of the newer drug,Nusinersen, from early infancy has shown improvement in clinical outcomes of spinal muscular atrophy patients.
文摘The study is conducted to examine the differences of gender perception among educators who are teaching in local higher learning institutions in Malaysia, in viewing their roles as the '~teacher". It is hoped that future studies will shed some light to this rather controversial claims.
文摘The present study examines the four core concepts that underpin the various theories of cultivation of East Asian Confucian philosophy:self(ji,已),cultivation(xiu,修),transformation(hua,化),and nurture(yang,餋).The discussion is divided into six sections. The first section, the introduction, explains the significance of the issue in question. The second section examines the substantial notion of"self"as expounded in the Confucian intellectual tradition and the corresponding concept of selthood or personhood.Confucianism stresses that(1)personal selthood is based on the freedom of subjectivity(subjective volition),and(2)society's values and norms originate in this freedom of subjectivity. The third section discusses the functional concept of cultivation, focusing on the fact that in Confucian theories the terms"cultivation"and"body"are always combined to form the concept of"self-cultivation."Moreover,Confucian thinkers tend to discuss the effort of self-cultivation in the context of a body-mind continuum.Indeed, they often use orientational metaphors in order to describe the efforts entailed by cultivation. The fourth section analyzes the linguistic setting and context of the functional concept of transformation within Confucian philosophy of the concrete self. The term"transformation"indicates clearly that Confucian philosophy is a transformative philosophy. The fifth section analyzes the functional concept of nurture, stressing that Confucius'two greatest followers,Mencius and Xunzi, represent two opposed approaches to nurturing.Meneius stresses that one should undertake the effort of"nurturing qi,"that is,produce culture through natural cultivation, while Xunzi advocates artificially instilling culture in order to discipline, tame, and order nature.Mencius and Xunzi both turn to the container metaphor in their discussions of self-cultivation.The article concludes that the various cultivation activities advocated by these two disparate Confucians are based on two assumptions:(1)the self coincides with the physical body,and(2)the physical self is steeped in and interactive with the cultural values of society. In sum,the functional concept of self-cultivation is an important pillar of Confucian theories of self-cultivation.

文摘This article will study the Quebecois novels of the 1960-1980's and especially the feeling of debt that women had because of the Christian Bible that condemned women as being the sinful Eve responsable for the Fall of Humanity. She will redeem the debt of her family by writing her autobiography which is a monument in sublimation of her mother
