Methods: 300 patients with chronic diseases treated in Chaoyang community health service station from June 2015 to June 2018 were selected as the research objects, and all patients were investigated by using the comprehensive nursing needs questionnaire for patients with chronic diseases. Results: disease nursing, health management and complication prevention were the main nursing needs, which were related to the patient's age, nursing staff, complications and complications. There was significant difference among the influencing factors in the same dimension (P < 0.05).Conclusion: in order to improve the nursing quality of patients with chronic diseases, targeted nursing must be given according to their own specific needs.展开更多

Methods: using convenient sampling method, 100 elderly patients with hypertension in a community in Binzhou were investigated by questionnaire. Results: 83% of the elderly patients with hypertension in the community had a need for home nursing, among which emergency ambulance service, long-term home nursing for chronic diseases and guidance on safe medication were the highest. Elderly hypertension aged 70 and above, with good living habits, non-married, living alone, medical insurance and total annual medical cost of more than 3000 Yuan need home nursing. Conclusion: a perfect home nursing system should be established to meet the needs of patients for home nursing projects such as emergency rescue service, long-term home nursing for chronic diseases, safe medication guidance and so on. Personalized home nursing should be implemented according to the patient's situation, so as to improve the patient's condition and promote physical rehabilitation.展开更多

The objective of this qualitative study is to identify the preparatory needs of nurses working in the medical and surgical units of a Lebanese hospital in terms of Survival Skills Education for Hospitalized Diabetic Patients (SSEHDP). Method: The focus group method is used for data collection using a semi-structured interview guide. The needs expressed by the thirty-two participating nurses were classified into categories of the competency framework for providing self-management education to diabetic patients proposed by the American Diabetes Association. Results: By focusing on the themes of an SSEHDP, a list of preparatory needs was drawn up. The needs identified and analyzed are then translated into general and specific learning objectives for educational preparation. Conclusion: The needs analysis is only the first step in a work that will ideally continue into the implementation and eventual evaluation of an educational program developed to help nurses acquire skills in the education of diabetic patients.展开更多
