Firstly, for each case, the Hamilton prin- ciple based on the action with non-standard Lagrangians on time scales is established, with which the corresponding Euler-Lagrange equation is given. Secondly, according to the invariance of the Hamilton action under the infinitesimal transformation, the Noether theorem for the dynamical system with non-standard Lagrangians on time scales is established. The proof of the theorem consists of two steps. First, it is proved under the infinitesimal transformations of a special one-parameter group without transforming time. Second, utilizing the technique of time-re-parameterization, the Noether theorem in a general form is obtained. The Noether-type conserved quantities with non-standard Lagrangians in both clas- sical and discrete cases are given. Finally, an example in Friedmann-Robertson-Walker spacetime and an example about second order Duffing equation are given to illustrate the application of the results.展开更多

Here we present a case of a 46-year-old female who suffered from a giant haemangioma causing severe portal hypertension and vena cava compression, leading to therapy refractory ascites, hyponatremia and venostasis-associated thrombosis with pulmonary embolism. The patients did not experience tumour rupture or consumptive coagulopathy. Surgical resection was impossible because of steatosis of the non-affected liver. Orthotopic liver transplantation was identified as the only treatment option. The patient's renal function remained stable even though progressive morbidity and organ allocation were improbable according to the patient's lab model for end-stage liver disease(lab MELD) score. Therefore, non-standard exception status was approved by the European organ allocation network "Eurotransplant". The patient underwent successful orthotopic liver transplantation 16 mo after admission to our centre. Our case report indicates the underrepresentation of morbidity associated with refractory ascites in the lab MELD-based transplant allocation system, and it indicates the necessity of promptly applying for non-standard exception status to enable transplantation in patients with a severe clinical condition but low lab MELD score. Our case highlights the fact that liver transplantation should be considered early in patients with non-resectable, symptomatic benign liver tumours.展开更多

Dapagliflozin is a selective inhibitor of sodium-glucose cotransporter 2(SGLT-2) that improves the insulin sensitivity of the liver and peripheral tissues. Many studies confirmed that SGLT2 inhibitors reduce blood glucose and have multiple beneficial effects such as weight loss, lipid regulation, and kidney protection. Nevertheless, the mechanisms of the renal and cardiovascular protective effects of dapagliflozin from the perspective of differentially expressed proteins in the serum of T2DM patients have not been intensively explored so far.AIM To identify differentially expressed proteins associated with dapagliflozin treatment in patients with T2DM.METHODS Twenty T2DM patients [hemoglobin A1c(HbA1c) 7.0%-10.0%] were enrolled at The Affiliated Hospital of Inner Mongolia Medical University between January 1, 2017 and December 1, 2018. They received dapagliflozin(10 mg/d) for 3 mo, and the HbA1c < 7.0% target was achieved. The changes in clinical indexes were compared before and after treatments. Label-free quantitative proteomics was used to identify differentially expressed proteins using the serum samples of five patients. The identified differentially expressed proteins were analyzed using various bioinformatics tools.RESULTS Dapagliflozin significantly improved the clinical manifestation of the patients. There were 18 downregulated proteins and one upregulated protein in the serum samples of patients after dapagliflozin administration. Bioinformatics analyses, including subcellular localization, Eu Karyotic Orthologous Groups, Gene Ontology, and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes annotations, were used to profile the biological characteristics of the 19 differentially expressed proteins. Based on the literature and function enrichment analysis, two downregulated proteins, myeloperoxidase(MPO) and alpha Ⅱ B integrin(ITGA2B), and one upregulated protein, podocalyxin(PCX), were selected for enzyme linked immunosorbent assay validation. These validated differentially expressed proteins had multiple correlations with clinical indexes, including Hb Ac1 and fasting C-peptide.CONCLUSION Dapagliflozin has hypoglycemic effects and regulates the serum expressions of MPO, ITGA2B, and PCX, possibly contributing to the effects of dapagliflozin on oxidative stress, insulin resistance, and lipid metabolism.展开更多

System sensitivity to parameter variation is handled through an additional quadratic trajectory parametric sensitivity term in the standard LQ criterion to be minimized. The main purpose here is to find a suboptimal linear quadratic control taking explicitly into account the parametric uncertainties. The paper main contribution is threefold: 1) A descriptor system approach is used to show that the underlying singular linear-quadratic optimal control problem leads to a non-standard Riccati equation. 2) A solution to the proposed control problem is then given based on a connection to the so-called Lur'e matrix equations. 3) A synthesis method of multiple parametric SCLQ controllers is proposed to cover the whole parametric uncertainty while degrading as less as possible the intrinsic robustness properties of each local linear quadratic controller. Some examples are presented in order to illustrate the effectiveness of the approach.展开更多

The most important of such image based measurement techniques are those for the measurement of planar flow velocity fields, planar pressure distribution, model location and deformation, model temperature and quantitative high speed flow visualization. The applications as carried out by DLR range from low speed flows to transonic flows, from high lift configurations to propellers and rotors, from wake vortex investigations in catapult facilities and water towing tanks to investigations of vortex break down phenomena on delta wings. The capability to use image based measurement techniques in transonic flows requires dedicated technical developments and experienced scientists due to the special environment of a transonic wind tunnel. In this paper an overview of the state-of-the art of the application of image based measurement techniques in transonic flows as performed by DLR's Institute of Aerodynamics and Flow Technology will be given.展开更多

First the non-negative solution of the model in fractional order is presented. Then the local stability analysis of the model in fractional order is discussed. Finally, the general solutions are presented and a discrete-time finite difference scheme is constructed using the nonstandard finite difference (NSFD) method. A comparative study of the classical Runge-Kutta method and ODE45 is presented in the case of integer order derivatives. The solutions obtained are presented graphically.展开更多

Many covariates are inherently continuous, and have a variety of distributions, including those that are heavily skewed to the left or right. Existing theoretical formulas, criteria, and simulation programs cannot accurately estimate the sample size and power of non-standard distributions. Therefore, we have developed a simulation program that uses Monte Carlo methods to estimate the exact power of a binary logistic regression model. This power calculation can be used for distributions of any shape and covariates of any type (continuous, ordinal, and nominal), and can account for nonlinear relationships between covariates and outcomes. For illustrative purposes, this simulation program is applied to real data obtained from a study on the influence of smoking on 90-day outcomes after acute atherothrombotic stroke. Our program is applicable to all effect sizes and makes it possible to apply various statistical methods, logistic regression and related simulations such as Bayesian inference with some modifications.展开更多

The main purpose in this work is the modeling of the aggressiveness of anopheles mosquitoes relative to the way humans use to protect themselves against bites of mosquitoes. This model is a system of several differential equations: the number of equations depends on the particular assumptions of the model. We compute the basic reproduction number, and show that if, the disease free equilibrium (DFE) is globally asymptotically stable on the non-negative orthant. If, the system admits a unique endemic equilibrium (EE) that is globally and asymptotically stable. Numerical simulations are presented corresponding to scenarios typical of malaria-endemic areas, based on data collected in the literature. Finally, we discuss the relative effectiveness of different kinds of bed nets.展开更多

In Kosovo, fly ash as cement substitution in concrete has not been utilized yet despite the large amount that is produced annually and the positive economical-environment aspects of such technique. This hesitance is due to the laek of experience in the concrete engineering field and because of the chemical composition of Kosovo fly ash, which is classified as non-standard high calcium fly ash (KF). In light of this fact, this study intended to develop further. So, this paper reports the consistency, workability, shrinkage, high and ordinary compressive strength of concrete containing different percentage of non-class high calcium fly ash as Portland cement substitution (first case-Kosovo fly ash KF) comparing results with F class-low caleium fly ash content (second ease-Japanese fly ash JF) which is common used as cement replacement.展开更多

Many scientists including Newton, Mach, and Einstein recognized that inertial force has no reaction that originates on mass. Einstein calls the lack of reaction to the inertial force a serious criticism of the space-time continuum concept. Presented is the hypothesis that the inertial force develops in an interaction of two masses via the force field. The inertial force created by such a field has reaction force. The dynamic gravitational field predicted is strong enough to be detected in the laboratory. This article describes the laboratory experiment which can prove or disprove the hypothesis of the dynamic gravitational field. The inertial force, calculated using the equation for the dynamic gravitational field, agrees with the behavior of inertial force observed in the experiments on the Earth. The movement of the planets in our solar system calculated using that equation is the same as that calculated using Newton’s method. The space properties calculated by the candidate equation explain the aberration of light and the results of light propagation experiments. The dynamic gravitational field can explain the discrepancy between the observed velocity of stars in the galaxy and those predicted by Newton’s theory of gravitation without the need for the dark matter hypothesis.展开更多

This is to illustrate the applicability of Nonstandard analytic tool to beginners interested in Nonstandard analytic methods. The general procedure is as follows: A suitable equivalence relation is defined on an enlargement *X of the space X which is a completely regular space or a locally compact Hausdorff space or a locally compact Abelian group. Accordingly, every f in C(X,R) (the space of bounded continuous real valued functions on X) or Cc(X,R) (the space of continuous real valued functions on X with compact support) or the dual group <span style="white-space:nowrap;">Γ of the locally compact Abelian group G is extended to the set <img alt="" src="Edit_b9535172-924d-44f0-bab3-c49db17a3b7a.png" /> of the above mentioned equivalence classes. A compact topology on <img alt="" src="Edit_9d7962a3-b8a3-4693-b62a-078c8c4b4853.png" /> is obtained as the weak topology generated by these extensions of f. Then X is naturally imbedded densely in <img alt="" src="Edit_f7d403b2-eff3-4555-b8e7-1b106e06d2e7.png" />.展开更多

文摘BACKGROUND Only 50% of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM) can control their blood glucose levels. In this paper an overview of the state-of-the art of the application of image based measurement techniques in transonic flows as performed by DLR's Institute of Aerodynamics and Flow Technology will be given.

文摘We investigate prospects of building a future accelerator-based neutrino oscillation experiment in China, including site selection, beam optimization and tau neutrino physics aspects.CP violation,non-unitary mixing and non-standard neutrino interactions are discussed. We simulate neutrino beam setups based on muon and beta decay techniques and compare Chinese laboratory sites by their expected sensitivities.A case study on the Super Proton-Proton Collider and the China JinPing Laboratory is also presented. It is shown that the muon-decay-based beam setup can measure the Dirac CP phase by about 14.2°precision at 1σCL,whereas non-unitarity can be probed down to |α_(ij)|≲0.37(i≠j=1,2,3)and non-standard interactions to|ϵ_(ℓℓ′)^(m)|≲0.11(ℓ≠ℓ′=e,μ,τ)at 90% CL,respectively.
文摘In this paper, we consider an SIR-model for which the interaction term is the square root of the susceptible and infected individuals in the form of fractional order differential equations. The solutions obtained are presented graphically.
文摘Binary logistic regression models are commonly used to assess the association between outcomes and covariates. Our program is applicable to all effect sizes and makes it possible to apply various statistical methods, logistic regression and related simulations such as Bayesian inference with some modifications.
文摘We propose and analyze an epidemiological model to evaluate the effectiveness of bed nets as a prophylactic measure in malaria-endemic areas. Finally, we discuss the relative effectiveness of different kinds of bed nets.
文摘Ordinary and high performance concrete (OC-C 25/30 and HPC C-50/60) made with fly ash has found numerous applications all over the world since 1970. So, this paper reports the consistency, workability, shrinkage, high and ordinary compressive strength of concrete containing different percentage of non-class high calcium fly ash as Portland cement substitution (first case-Kosovo fly ash KF) comparing results with F class-low caleium fly ash content (second ease-Japanese fly ash JF) which is common used as cement replacement.
文摘Analysis of free fall and acceleration of the mass on the Earth shows that using abstract entities such as absolute space or inertial space to explain mass dynamics leads to the violation of the principle of action and reaction. The dynamic gravitational field can explain the discrepancy between the observed velocity of stars in the galaxy and those predicted by Newton’s theory of gravitation without the need for the dark matter hypothesis.
文摘Three classical compactification procedures are presented with nonstandard flavour. Then X is naturally imbedded densely in <img alt="" src="Edit_f7d403b2-eff3-4555-b8e7-1b106e06d2e7.png" />.
文摘Two case studies, referring to historic Italian buildings housing city halls, provide an opportunity to investigate the design of non-standard elements aimed at protecting masonry vaults, with particular reference to the preliminary works prior to the actual structural restoration work. There is in fact a phase in which it is a priority to secure the vault to avert possible risks to the users of that portion of the building. This phase is temporarily intermediate between the detection and aggravation of injuries and the renovation and consolidation project.Although these are provisional works, they are intended for buildings that are often public and therefore intended for a wide range of users, such as schools, offices or monumental buildings. In analyzing traditional techniques and systems used in similar cases, the possibility of developing evolutionary aspects with respect to,above all, simple shoring techniques emerged. In these areas, hybrids between a structural and architectural project,it is possible to reconcile static requirements with architectural techniques of space management, attentive to the quality of the interior and the integration of the provisional work with the reference context.
