The topology structure of the artificial neural network is an intelligent control model,which is used for the intelligent vehicle control system and household sweeping robot.When setting the intelligent control system,the connection point of each network is regarded as a neuron in the nervous system,and each connection point has input and output functions.Only when the input of nodes reaches a certain threshold can the output function of nodes be stimulated.Using the networking mode of the artificial neural network model,the mobile node can output in multiple directions.If the input direction of a certain path is the same as that of other nodes,it can choose to avoid and choose another path.The weighted value of each path between nodes is different,which means that the influence of the front node on the current node varies.The control method based on the artificial neural network model can be applied to vehicle control,household sweeping robots,and other fields,and a relatively optimized scheme can be obtained from the aspect of time and energy consumption. 展开更多

Optimization of convolutional neural networks for predicting water pollutants using spectral data in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River Basin,China

Developing an accurate and efficient comprehensive water quality prediction model and its assessment method is crucial for the prevention and control of water pollution.Deep learning(DL),as one of the most promising technologies today,plays a crucial role in the effective assessment of water body health,which is essential for water resource management.This study models using both the original dataset and a dataset augmented with Generative Adversarial Networks(GAN).It integrates optimization algorithms(OA)with Convolutional Neural Networks(CNN)to propose a comprehensive water quality model evaluation method aiming at identifying the optimal models for different pollutants.Specifically,after preprocessing the spectral dataset,data augmentation was conducted to obtain two datasets.Then,six new models were developed on these datasets using particle swarm optimization(PSO),genetic algorithm(GA),and simulated annealing(SA)combined with CNN to simulate and forecast the concentrations of three water pollutants:Chemical Oxygen Demand(COD),Total Nitrogen(TN),and Total Phosphorus(TP).Finally,seven model evaluation methods,including uncertainty analysis,were used to evaluate the constructed models and select the optimal models for the three pollutants.The evaluation results indicate that the GPSCNN model performed best in predicting COD and TP concentrations,while the GGACNN model excelled in TN concentration prediction.Compared to existing technologies,the proposed models and evaluation methods provide a more comprehensive and rapid approach to water body prediction and assessment,offering new insights and methods for water pollution prevention and control. 展开更多

Quantum optimal control(QOC)relies on accurately modeling system dynamics and is often challenged by unknown or inaccessible interactions in real systems.Taking an unknown collective spin system as an example,this work introduces a machine-learning-based,data-driven scheme to overcome the challenges encountered,with a trained neural network(NN)assuming the role of a surrogate model that captures the system’s dynamics and subsequently enables QOC to be performed on the NN instead of on the real system.The trained NN surrogate proves effective for practical QOC tasks and is further demonstrated to be adaptable to different experimental conditions,remaining robust across varying system sizes and pulse durations. 展开更多

In the realm of engineering practice,various factors such as limited availability of measurement data and complex working conditions pose significant challenges to obtaining accurate load spectra.Thus,accurately predicting the fatigue life of structures becomes notably arduous.This paper proposed an approach to predict the fatigue life of structure based on the optimized load spectra,which is accurately estimated by an efficient hinging hyperplane neural network(EHH-NN)model.The construction of the EHH-NN model includes initial network generation and parameter optimization.Through the combination of working conditions design,multi-body dynamics analysis and structural static mechanics analysis,the simulated load spectra of the structure are obtained.The simulated load spectra are taken as the input variables for the optimized EHH-NN model,while the measurement load spectra are used as the output variables.The prediction results of case structure indicate that the optimized EHH-NN model can achieve the high-accuracy load spectra,in comparison with support vector machine(SVM),random forest(RF)model and back propagation(BP)neural network.The error rate between the prediction values and the measurement values of the optimized EHH-NN model is 4.61%.In the Cauchy-Lorentz distribution,the absolute error data of 92%with EHH-NN model appear in the intermediate range of±1.65%.Also,the fatigue life analysis is performed for the case structure,based on the accurately predicted load spectra.The fatigue life of the case structure is calculated based on the comparison between the measured and predicted load spectra,with an accuracy of 93.56%.This research proposes the optimized EHH-NN model can more accurately reflect the measurement load spectra,enabling precise calculation of fatigue life.Additionally,the optimized EHH-NN model provides reliability assessment for industrial engineering equipment. 展开更多

Analog circuit is an important part of electronic components. Its fault diagnosis is far more challenging than that of digital circuit. Simulations and applications have shown that the methods based on BP neural network are effective in analog circuit fault diagnosis. Aiming at the tolerance of analog circuit,a combinatorial optimization diagnosis scheme was proposed with back propagation( BP) neural network( BPNN).The main contributions of this scheme included two parts:( 1) the random tolerance samples were added into the nominal training samples to establish new training samples,which were used to train the BP neural network based diagnosis model;( 2) the initial weights of the BP neural network were optimized by genetic algorithm( GA) to avoid local minima,and the BP neural network was tuned with Levenberg-Marquardt algorithm( LMA) in the local solution space to look for the optimum solution or approximate optimal solutions. The experimental results show preliminarily that the scheme substantially improves the whole learning process approximation and generalization ability,and effectively promotes analog circuit fault diagnosis performance based on BPNN. 展开更多

Different from the former study, the value region of projective operator in the neural network in this paper is a general closed convex subset of n-dimensional Euclidean space and it is not a compact convex set in general, that is, the value region of projective operator is probably unbounded. It was proved that the network has a global solution and its solution trajectory converges to some equilibrium set whenever objective function satisfies some conditions. After that, the model was applied to continuously differentiable optimization and nonlinear or implicit complementarity problems. A Hopfield-like hippocampal CA3 neural network model for studying associative memory in Alzheimer's disease

Associative memory, one of the major cognitive functions in the hippocampal CA3 region, includes auto-associative memory and hetero-associative memory. Many previous studies have shown that Alzheimer's disease (AD) can lead to loss of functional synapses in the central nervous system, and associative memory functions in patients with AD are often impaired, but few studies have addressed the effect of AD on hetero-associative memory in the hippocampal CA3 region. In this study, based on a simplified anatomical structure and synaptic connections in the hippocampal CA3 region, a three-layered Hopfield-like neural network model of hippocampal CA3 was proposed and then used to simulate associative memory functions in three circumstances: normal, synaptic deletion and synaptic compensation, according to Ruppin's synaptic deletion and compensation theory. The influences of AD on hetero-associative memory were further analyzed. The simulated results showed that the established three-layered Hopfield-like neural network model of hippocampal CA3 has both auto-associative and hetero-associative memory functions. With increasing synaptic deletion level, both associative memory functions were gradually impaired and the mean firing rates of the neurons within the network model were decreased. With gradual increasing synaptic compensation, the associative memory functions of the network were improved and the mean firing rates were increased. The simulated results suggest that the Hopfield-like neural network model can effectively simulate both associative memory functions of the hippocampal CA3 region. Synaptic deletion affects both auto-associative and hetero-associative memory functions in the hippocampal CA3 region, and can also result in memory dysfunction. To some extent, synaptic compensation measures can offset two kinds of associative memory dysfunction caused by synaptic deletion in the hippocampal CA3 area. 展开更多

Model 1 determines the searching area. We predict the trajectory of floats generated after the disintegration of the plane by using RBF neural network model, and then determine the searching area according to the trajectory. With the pass of time, the searching area will also be constantly moving along the trajectory. Model 2 develops a maritime search plan to achieve the purpose of completing the search in the shortest time. We optimize the searching time and transform the problem into the 0-1 knapsack problem. This paper introduced the Genetic Algorithms (GAs) and Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs), which have been widely used in optimization of allocating. The combination way of the two optimizing algorithms was used in board allocating of furniture production. In the experiment, the rectangular flake board of 3650 mm 1850 mm was used as raw material to allocate 100 sets of Table Bucked. The utilizing rate of the board reached 94.14 % and the calculating time was only 35 s. The experiment result proofed that the method by using the GA for optimizing the weights of the ANN can raise the utilizing rate of the board and can shorten the time of the design. At the same time, this method can simultaneously searched in many directions, thus greatly in-creasing the probability of finding a global optimum. 展开更多

To avoid the aerodynamic performance loss of airfoil at non-design state which often appears in single point design optimization, and to improve the adaptability to the uncertain factors in actual flight environment, a two-dimensional stochastic airfoil optimization design method based on neural networks is presented. To provide highly efficient and credible analysis, four BP neural networks are built as surrogate models to predict the airfoil aerodynamic coefficients and geometry parameter. These networks are combined with the probability density function obeying normal distribution and the genetic algorithm, thus forming an optimization design method. Using the method, for GA(W)-2 airfoil, a stochastic optimization is implemented in a two-dimensional flight area about Mach number and angle of attack. Compared with original airfoil and single point optimization design airfoil, results show that the two-dimensional stochastic method can improve the performance in a specific flight area, and increase the airfoil adaptability to the stochastic changes of multiple flight parameters. 展开更多

Research of thermal characteristics has been a key issue in the development of high-speed feed system. Most of the work carried out thus far is based on the principle of directly mapping the thermal error against the temperature of critical machine elements irrespective of the operating conditions. But recent researches show that different sets of operating parameters generated significantly different error values even though the temperature of the machine elements generated was similar. As such, it is important to develop a generic thermal error model which is capable of evaluating the positioning error induced by different operating parameters. This paper ultimately aims at the development of a comprehensive prediction model that can predict the thermal characteristics under different operating conditions (feeding speed, load and preload of ballscrew) in a feed system. A novel wavelet neural network based on feedback linearization autoregressive moving averaging (NARMA-L2) model is introduced to predict the temperature rise of sensitive points and thermal positioning errors considering the different operating conditions as the model inputs. Particle swarm optimization(PSO) algorithm is brought in as the training method. According to ISO230-2 Positioning Accuracy Measurement and ISO230-3 Thermal Effect Evaluation standards, experiments under different operating conditions were carried out on a self-made quasi high-speed feed system experimental bench HUST-FS-001 by using Pt100 as temperature sensor, and the positioning errors were measured by Heidenhain linear grating scale. The experiment results show that the recommended method can be used to predict temperature rise of sensitive points and thermal positioning errors with good accuracy. The work described in this paper lays a solid foundation of thermal error prediction and compensation in a feed system based on varying operating conditions and machine tool characteristics. 展开更多

In the present CPDA network, we add some chaotic parameters in the energy function, which make the Hopfield neural network escape from the attraction of a local minimal solution and with the parameter annealing, our model will converge to the global optimal solutions quickly and steadily. For the accurate description of aerodynamic characteristics for aircraft,a wavelet neural network (WNN) aerodynamic modeling method from flight data,based on improved particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm with information sharing strategy and velocity disturbance operator,is proposed.In improved PSO algorithm,an information sharing strategy is used to avoid the premature convergence as much as possible;the velocity disturbance operator is adopted to jump out of this position once falling into the premature convergence.Simulations on lateral and longitudinal aerodynamic modeling for ATTAS (advanced technologies testing aircraft system) indicate that the proposed method can achieve the accuracy improvement of an order of magnitude compared with SPSO-WNN,and can converge to a satisfactory precision by only 60 120 iterations in contrast to SPSO-WNN with 6 times precocities in 200 times repetitive experiments using Morlet and Mexican hat wavelet functions.Furthermore,it is proved that the proposed method is feasible and effective for aerodynamic modeling from flight data. 展开更多

The global stability problem of Takagi-Sugeno(T-S) fuzzy Hopfield neural networks(FHNNs) with time delays is investigated.Novel LMI-based stability criteria are obtained by using Lyapunov functional theory to guarantee the asymptotic stability of the FHNNs with less conservatism.Firstly,using both Finsler's lemma and an improved homogeneous matrix polynomial technique,and applying an affine parameter-dependent Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional,we obtain the convergent LMI-based stability criteria.Algebraic properties of the fuzzy membership functions in the unit simplex are considered in the process of stability analysis via the homogeneous matrix polynomials technique.Secondly,to further reduce the conservatism,a new right-hand-side slack variables introducing technique is also proposed in terms of LMIs,which is suitable to the homogeneous matrix polynomials setting.Finally,two illustrative examples are given to show the efficiency of the proposed approaches. 展开更多

Predication of the backflushing efficiency poses a complex non-linear problem as the system integrates enzymatic hydrolysis, membrane separation and periodic backflushing together. In this paper an alternative artificial neural network approach is developed to predict the backflushing efficiency as a function of duration and interval. A contour plot of backflushing performance is presented to model these effects, and the backflushing conditions have been optimized as duration of 10 s and interval of 10 min using this neural network. Also, simple neural networks are established to predict the time evolution of flux before and after backflushing. The results predicted by the models are in good agreement with the experimental data, and the average deviations for all the cases are well within ±5%. The neural network approach is found to be capable of modeling the backflushing with confidence. 展开更多

A model was established based on back-propagation neural network using the experimental data of homogeneous design as the training sample set and the technological parameters were optimized by it. The optimal technological parameters are as follows: the reaction time is 4h, the reaction temperature is 80℃, the molar ratio of NaOH to 4,6-dinitro-1,2,3-trichlorobenzene is 5.5:1, the molar ratio of methanol to 4,6-dinitro-1,2,3- trichlorobenzene is 11:1, and the molar ratio of water to 4,6-dinitro-1,2,3-trichlorobenzene is 70:1. Under the optimal conditions, three groups of experiments were performed and the average yield of 2-chloro-4,6-dinitroresorcinol is 96.64%, the absolute error of it with the predicted value is -1.07%. 展开更多

Hopfield network requires some control parameters to be carefully selected, else the network is apt to converge to local minimum. An ant system is a nature inspired meta heuristic algorithm. It has been applied to several combinatorial optimization problems such as Traveling Salesman Problem, Scheduling Problems, etc. This paper will show an ant system may be used in tuning the network control parameters by a group of cooperated ants. The major advantage of this network is to adjust the network parameters automatically, avoiding a blind search for the set of control parameters. This network was tested on two TSP problems, 5 cities and 10 cities. The results have shown an obvious improvement. 展开更多
