In 2024,Ji Qiang et al.established a new species,namely,Homo yunxianensis,based on the fossil human cranium(EV9001)unearthed from the Xuetangliangzi site of Yunxian County,Hubei Province,China,and characterized by dev...In 2024,Ji Qiang et al.established a new species,namely,Homo yunxianensis,based on the fossil human cranium(EV9001)unearthed from the Xuetangliangzi site of Yunxian County,Hubei Province,China,and characterized by developing 16 teeth on the maxilla,two slightly curved,thick brow ridges,but no sagittal ridge along the cranial midline.Homo yunxianensis developed the skull of type C,which was considered as the descendant of Homo erectus and later evolved into Homo orientalis with 31 to 29 teeth orally.In this paper,we restudy the skull(the holotype)of the Jinniushan man,which was found in the cave crevasse deposit(Point A)on the southeast slope of the Jinniushan Hill in Yingkou City,Liaoning Province by the teachers and students of the Archaeology Department of Peking University in 1984.The skull shows some distinct characters as follows:the cranial fornix is medium tall;the sagittal ridge does not developed;the brow ridges are thick and slightly curved;the upper jaw has 16 teeth preserved in situ;and the posterior end(the transition part)is obtuse in shape.These features mentioned above show that the Jinniushan cranium represents a new species:Homo jinniushanensis sp.nov.,rather than Homo erectus,Homo yunxianensis,and archaic or early Homo sapiens.We suggested that Homo jinniushanensis sp.nov.is probably the intermediate form transitional from Homo yunxianensis to Homo(H.)sapiens.展开更多
Norovirus(NoV)infection is a major cause of gastroenteritis worldwide.The virus poses great challenges in developing vaccines with broad immune protection due to its genetic and antigenic diversity.To date,there are n...Norovirus(NoV)infection is a major cause of gastroenteritis worldwide.The virus poses great challenges in developing vaccines with broad immune protection due to its genetic and antigenic diversity.To date,there are no approved NoV vaccines for clinical use.Here,we aimed to develop a broad-acting quadrivalent NoV vaccine based on a chimpanzee adenovirus vector,AdC68,carrying the major capsid protein(VP1)of noroviral GI and GII genotypes.Compared to intramuscular(i.m.),intranasal(i.n.),or other prime-boost immunization regimens(i.m.t i.m.,i.m.t i.n.,i.n.t i.m.),AdC68-GI.1-GII.3(E1)-GII.4-GII.17(E3),administered via i.n.t i.n.induced higher titers of serum IgG antibodies and higher IgA antibodies in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid(BALF)and saliva against the four homologous VP1s in mice.It also significantly stimulated the production of blocking antibodies against the four genotypes.In response to re-stimulation with virus-like particles(VLP)-GI.1,VLP-GII.3,VLP-GII.4,and VLP-GII.17,the quadrivalent vaccine administered according to the i.n.t i.n.regimen effectively triggered specific cell-mediated immune responses,primarily characterized by IFN-γsecretion.Furthermore,the preparation of this novel quadrivalent NoV vaccine requires only a single recombinant adenovirus to provide broad preventive immunity against the major GI/GII epidemic strains,making it a promising vaccine candidate for further development.展开更多
The Permian-Triassic transition saw extreme climatic changes that severely impacted the terrestrial ecosystem.Fossil plants,particularly fossil woods,are sensitive to climatic changes,and they,therefore,are unique mat...The Permian-Triassic transition saw extreme climatic changes that severely impacted the terrestrial ecosystem.Fossil plants,particularly fossil woods,are sensitive to climatic changes,and they,therefore,are unique materials revealing extreme environmental and climatic changes on land at that time.Abundant conifer woods were discovered in the Lopingian(Late Permian)strata of the Sunjiagou Formation in Shanxi Province,North China.The newly finding permineralized woods record the unique landscape of Lopingian North China.They represent a new conifer genus and species:Shanxiopitys zhangziensis gen.et sp.nov.Analyses of growth pattern and anatomical characteristics of the fossil woods indicate these trees grew under optimal growing conditions,and without seasonal growth cessation.However,climate signals from leaf fossils,vertebrate fossils and sedimentary evidences indicate a strongly seasonal climate in North China during the Lopingian.Thus,it is speculated that these trees likely lived in the gallery forests,which were distributed along the paleo-rivers within a seasonal landscape in the central North China block during the Lopingian.展开更多

文摘目的探讨中晚期孕妇血清NOV/CCN3水平变化,并分析其与妊娠期糖尿病(gestational diabetes mellitus,GDM)及妊娠结局的关系。方法根据口服葡萄糖耐量实验(oral glucose tolerance test,OGTT)结果,将252例妊娠女性分为GDM组与对照组。根据妊娠前体质量指数水平及妊娠结局情况将GDM组进行分组。收集所有研究对象临床资料,比较组间一般资料、生化指标及NOV/CCN3水平的差异。结果GDM组血清NOV/CCN3水平高于对照组(P<0.001)。Spearman相关分析结果表明血清NOV/CCN3与妊娠前体质量、妊娠前体质量指数、胰岛素抵抗指数、总胆固醇呈正相关,与胰岛素敏感指数呈负相关(P<0.05)。logistic回归分析结果表明,NOV/CCN3是GDM发生的独立危险因素[OR=1.097,95%CI(1.020~1.179),P=0.013],且是GDM患者发生不良妊娠结局的独立危险因素[OR=1.032,95%CI(1.020~1.045),P<0.001],ROC分析结果显示曲线下面积(area under the curve,AUC)分别为0.840、0.784(P<0.05)。结论中晚期孕妇血清NOV/CCN3水平与肥胖、胰岛素抵抗及糖脂代谢相关,参与GDM发生发展,为评估中晚期孕妇发生GDM及GDM患者妊娠结局提供新的思路。
