Patients from both groupswere taking Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide (NADH) Rapid Energy 80 mg/day in two takes for a period of 56 days. A greater reduction in average fasting glucose and HbAlc after 56 days was observed in the patients of group 1 not taking metformin compared to patients of group-2 which were taking metformin. Why metformin reduces the anti-diabetic effect of NADH will be discussed.
