Residential energy-use behavior and energy-saving awareness play a crucial role in sustainable urban energy planning and building energy efficiency,particularly under the pressures of climate change.However,existing s...Residential energy-use behavior and energy-saving awareness play a crucial role in sustainable urban energy planning and building energy efficiency,particularly under the pressures of climate change.However,existing studies often lack comparative analysis of urban-rural differences and tend to focus excessively on behavior patterns while neglecting the dimension of energysaving awareness.With China’s urbanization rate reaching 66.16%,understanding such regional disparities has become increasingly important.To address these research gaps,this study conducts a large-scale survey on space cooling behaviors among residents in Beijing,a representative Chinese megacity.It should be noted that living standards in such megacities are generally higher than the national average,which may shape distinctive energy-use profiles.Analyzing 1573valid samples(1064 urban/442 rural)in 2024,this study employed K-Prototypes and K-Modes clustering to identify typical cooling behavior and energy-saving awareness pattems,followed by Kendall/Chi-square correlation tests and XGBoost importance analysis to determine key influencing factors,with subsequent urban-rural comparative analysis.Results indicate that urban residents are primarily heat-sensitive or heat-tolerant,with a secondary patten of mid-low temperature preference,and generally exhibit long cooling durations;rural behavior is dominated by heat-tolerant type,followed by heat-sensitive,mid-low temperature preference,and never-on types as secondary patterns;both urban and rural areas exhibit energy-savingawareness characterized by low consumption-lowwillingness,though urban areas show marginally higher motivation;energy-saving awareness correlates with cooling behavior in rural areas,but this relationship weakens significantly in urban contexts.展开更多
AIM:To investigate the sex-specific correlation between systemic factors and retinal neurovascular alterations in individuals with type 1 diabetes mellitus(T1DM)who do not exhibit signs of diabetic retinopathy(DR).MET...AIM:To investigate the sex-specific correlation between systemic factors and retinal neurovascular alterations in individuals with type 1 diabetes mellitus(T1DM)who do not exhibit signs of diabetic retinopathy(DR).METHODS:A cohort participant without DR diagnosed with T1DM,underwent comprehensive ophthalmologic evaluation,optical coherence tomography angiography retinal structural and microvascular density analysis,and systemic parameter assessment.Multiple linear regression analysis was used to investigate the impact of systemic parameters on retinal alterations in distinct gender groups.RESULTS:A total of 182 individuals were included,consisting of 85 males(mean age 23.28±12.75y)and 97 females(mean age 22.98±13.68y).Males exhibited significantly greater thickness in both the internal retinal layer and the entire retina compared to females(P<0.01),whereas females had higher densities of deep retinal vessels and choroidal capillaries(P<0.05).Additionally,glycemic control was found to have a notable influence on retinal thickness in males(P<0.05),while insulin function had a more pronounced impact on retinal structure in females(P<0.01).Furthermore,a significant correlation was observed between thyroid function markers and retinal parameters in both male and female(P<0.05).CONCLUSION:Sex differences in alterations in retinal structure and microcirculation are observed in individuals with T1DM prior to the development of clinical DR,with a noted association between these changes and systemic parameters.展开更多

MSED can provide a clear description of the “energy relaxation” process on a PEL. Through MSED analysis, we have obtained a characteristic time similar to that derived from structure analysis, namely τ_(α)^(*).Further, we establish a connection between MSED and the feature of PELs, providing a concise and quantitative description of PELs. The relaxation behavior of energy has been found to follow a stretched exponential form.As the temperature decreases, the roughness of the accessible PEL changes significantly around a characteristic temperature T_(x), which is 20% higher than the glass transition temperature T_(g) and is comparable to the critical temperature of the mode-coupling theory. More importantly, one of the PEL parameters is closely related to the Adam–Gibbs configurational entropy. The present research, which directly links the PEL to the relaxation process, provides avenues for further research of glasses.展开更多

Although water has the central function of the bloodstream in the biosphere especially in arid or semi-arid regions such as Yah'an region in northwestern China, yet the very limited attention is paid to the role of t...Although water has the central function of the bloodstream in the biosphere especially in arid or semi-arid regions such as Yah'an region in northwestern China, yet the very limited attention is paid to the role of the water-related processes in ecosystem. In this research, based on continuous nearly 50-year data including runoff volume, sediment discharge as well as sediment accretion from hydrographic stations, and 10-year information of water quality from pollution monitoring stations, the method for measuring in-stream flow requirement has been put forward supported by experiential models and GIS spatial analysis. Additionally, the changes of in-stream flow requirement for environment and economic development have been addressed from spatial-temporal dimensions. The results show that: (1) According to the central streams in Yan'an region, mean annual in-stream flow requirement reaches 1.0619 billion m^3, and the surface water for economic exploitation is 0.2445 billion m3 (2) Mean annual in-stream flow requirement for sediment transfers in flood period occupies over 80% of the integrated volume in a year. (3) From the 1950s to 1970s, in-stream flow requirement for sediment transfers is comparatively higher, while from the 1980s to 1990s, this requirement presents a decreasing tendency.展开更多

Based on the establishment of source-to-reservoir correlation in the kn...Because of the differences of hydrocarbon accumulation between in-source and out-of-source oil pools, the demand for source kitchen is different. Based on the establishment of source-to-reservoir correlation in the known conventional accumulations, and the characteristics of shale oil source kitchens as well, this paper discusses the differences of source kitchens for the formation of both conventional and shale oils. The formation of conventional oil pools is a process of hydrocarbons enriching from disperse state under the action of buoyancy, which enables most of the oil pools to be formed outside the source kitchens. The source rock does not necessarily have high abundance of organic matter, but has to have high efficiency and enough amount of hydrocarbon expulsion. The TOC threshold of source rocks for conventional oil accumulations is 0.5%, with the best TOC window ranging from 1% to 3%. The oil pools formed inside the source kitchens, mainly shale oil, are the retention of oil and gas in the source rock and there is no large-scale hydrocarbon migration and enrichment process happened, which requires better quality and bigger scale of source rocks. The threshold of TOC for medium to high maturity of shale oil is 2%, with the best range falling in 3%–5%. Medium to low mature shale oil resource has a TOC threshold of 6%, and the higher the better in particular. The most favorable kerogen for both high and low-mature shale oils is oil-prone type of I–II1. Carrying out source rock quality and classification evaluation and looking for large-scale and high-quality source rock enrichment areas are a scientific issue that must be paid attention to when exploration activity changes from out-of-source regions to in-source kitchen areas. The purpose is to provide theoretical guidance for the upcoming shale oil enrichment area selection, economic discovery and objective evaluation of resource potential.展开更多

Uneven urban and rural development is one of the main reasons for the decline of the countryside.This imbalance could be measured by the urban-rural difference index(URDI).Existing studies on urban-rural differences h...Uneven urban and rural development is one of the main reasons for the decline of the countryside.This imbalance could be measured by the urban-rural difference index(URDI).Existing studies on urban-rural differences have focused on single dimension between urban and rural areas,and lack a systematic multi-dimensional measurement.Based on the construction of an index system and model for measuring urban-rural differences,this study took the Huang-Huai-Hai Plain(HHHP)as the study area,explores the spatial pattern of urban-rural differences in the area,and used geographical weighted regression models to identify the factors affecting urban-rural development differences.Results show that the mean value of URDI in the HHHP was 0.295,and the URDI in its western region was higher than that in the east.The average URDI was relatively high in the western counties along the Beijing–Guangzhou Railway.The low level of urban-rural'population-land-industry'development in the HHHP is an important reason for the small differences between urban and rural areas.Improvements in road transportation infrastructure have led to an increase in the urban-rural development gap.However,the driving force of the road network on urban development is greater than that on rural areas.The role of county economic agglomeration is gaining strength.In the process of rapid economic development,more attention should be paid to the development of the rural economy and the overall revitalization of the countryside.The equivalent allocation of social service facilities is an effective way to solve the problem of urban-rural imbalance.Further analysis demonstrated that terrain factors have relatively little influence on the URDI.This study provides a new perspective and measurement method for understanding the integration of urban and rural development,and provides a useful reference for guiding the urban-rural integration development and the rural revitalization.展开更多

Logit and Tobit models are employed to conduct empirical analysis and it is found that terrace abandonment increases sequentially among the new, middle, and old generations, confirming that intergenerational differences significantly influence whether farmers abandon terraces and the terrace abandonment scale. Village characteristics and government subsidies significantly influence farmers' terrace abandonment. An increase in the number of migrant workers in the village increases terrace abandonment among new and middle generation farmers, whereas an increase in the distance from the village to the county significantly increases terrace abandonment among old generation farmers. An increase in the village's total population significantly reduces terrace abandonment among new generation farmers. An increase in government subsidies significantly reduces terrace abandonment among middle and old generation farmers. The impact of intergenerational differences on terrace abandonment is more pronounced in low-altitude areas. To reduce terrace abandonment, it is necessary to promote terrace transfer, develop characteristic agriculture, improve terrace farming subsidies, and propose targeted strategies for the different generations of farmers.展开更多
The literature is full of claims regarding the consumption of polyphenol or polyamine-rich foods that offer some protection from developing cardiovascular disease(CVD). This is achieved by preventing cardiac hypertrop...The literature is full of claims regarding the consumption of polyphenol or polyamine-rich foods that offer some protection from developing cardiovascular disease(CVD). This is achieved by preventing cardiac hypertrophy and protecting blood vessels through improving the function of endothelium. However, do these interventions work in the aged human hearts? Cardiac aging is accompanied by an increase in left ventricular hypertrophy, along with diastolic and systolic dysfunction. It also confers significant cardiovascular risks for both sexes. The incidence and prevalence of CVD increase sharply at an earlier age in men than women. Furthermore, the patterns of heart failure differ between sexes, as do the lifetime risk factors. Do caloric restriction(CR)-mimetics, rich in polyphenol or polyamine, delay or reverse cardiac aging equally in both men and women? This review will discuss three areas:(1) mechanisms underlying age-related cardiac remodeling;(2) gender-related differences and potential mechanisms underlying diminished cardiac response in older men and women;(3) we select a few polyphenol or polyamine rich compounds as the CRmimetics, such as resveratrol, quercetin, curcumin, epigallocatechin gallate and spermidine, due to their capability to extend health-span and induce autophagy. We outline their abilities and issues on retarding aging in animal hearts and preventing CVD in humans. We discuss the confounding factors that should be considered for developing therapeutic strategies against cardiac aging in humans.展开更多
针对近连续流过渡区多尺度绕流问题,学界发展了N-S(Navier-Stokes)/DSMC(direct simulation Monte Carlo)耦合方法,大多数此类求解器面临着耦合界面波动失稳的难题,因此对复杂外形和耦合界面的通用性值得重点研究。鉴于非结构网格面向...针对近连续流过渡区多尺度绕流问题,学界发展了N-S(Navier-Stokes)/DSMC(direct simulation Monte Carlo)耦合方法,大多数此类求解器面临着耦合界面波动失稳的难题,因此对复杂外形和耦合界面的通用性值得重点研究。鉴于非结构网格面向复杂外形高度的贴体性、优良适应性以及工程领域对过渡流区高效通用型计算方法的需求,提出并实现了一套三维复杂界面四面体非结构网格N-S/DSMC耦合方法用于模拟高超声速过渡流。该方法使用局部克努森数作为连续失效参数划分连续/稀薄区域,并生成三维复杂N-S/DSMC耦合界面,沿分界面两侧分别推进一层或多层界面信息传递单元,基于边界状态法进行信息耦合。该耦合方法无需对复杂不规则分界面作光滑和修型处理,具备对复杂过渡流区工程问题数值模拟的通用性。分别对三维高超声速圆球和钝锥绕流进行模拟,数值结果显示:与参考文献中的DSMC方法相比,激波处数值和壁面特征值基本一致,最大误差不超过8%,但计算效率分别提高了1.74倍和2.28倍,验证了该耦合方法的正确性和高效性。展开更多

This is achieved by preventing cardiac hypertrophy and protecting blood vessels through improving the function of endothelium. However, do these interventions work in the aged human hearts? Cardiac aging is accompanied by an increase in left ventricular hypertrophy, along with diastolic and systolic dysfunction. It also confers significant cardiovascular risks for both sexes. The incidence and prevalence of CVD increase sharply at an earlier age in men than women. Furthermore, the patterns of heart failure differ between sexes, as do the lifetime risk factors. Do caloric restriction(CR)-mimetics, rich in polyphenol or polyamine, delay or reverse cardiac aging equally in both men and women? This review will discuss three areas:(1) mechanisms underlying age-related cardiac remodeling;(2) gender-related differences and potential mechanisms underlying diminished cardiac response in older men and women;(3) we select a few polyphenol or polyamine rich compounds as the CRmimetics, such as resveratrol, quercetin, curcumin, epigallocatechin gallate and spermidine, due to their capability to extend health-span and induce autophagy. We outline their abilities and issues on retarding aging in animal hearts and preventing CVD in humans. We discuss the confounding factors that should be considered for developing therapeutic strategies against cardiac aging in humans.
文摘针对近连续流过渡区多尺度绕流问题,学界发展了N-S(Navier-Stokes)/DSMC(direct simulation Monte Carlo)耦合方法,大多数此类求解器面临着耦合界面波动失稳的难题,因此对复杂外形和耦合界面的通用性值得重点研究。鉴于非结构网格面向复杂外形高度的贴体性、优良适应性以及工程领域对过渡流区高效通用型计算方法的需求,提出并实现了一套三维复杂界面四面体非结构网格N-S/DSMC耦合方法用于模拟高超声速过渡流。该方法使用局部克努森数作为连续失效参数划分连续/稀薄区域,并生成三维复杂N-S/DSMC耦合界面,沿分界面两侧分别推进一层或多层界面信息传递单元,基于边界状态法进行信息耦合。该耦合方法无需对复杂不规则分界面作光滑和修型处理,具备对复杂过渡流区工程问题数值模拟的通用性。分别对三维高超声速圆球和钝锥绕流进行模拟,数值结果显示:与参考文献中的DSMC方法相比,激波处数值和壁面特征值基本一致,最大误差不超过8%,但计算效率分别提高了1.74倍和2.28倍,验证了该耦合方法的正确性和高效性。
