The influence of periods on microstructure, adhesion and hardness of [Ti/TiB2]n multilayered films was studied. X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis shows that the monolayer TiB2 films exhibit (001) preferred orientation, and the preferred orientation of [Ti/TiB2], multilayered films transfers from (001) to (100) with the increase of periods. The cross-sectional morphology of each film displays homogeneity by field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM). The hardness of the films measured via nanoindention changes from 20 to 26 GPa with the increase of periods. These values of hardness are a bit lower than that of the monolayer TiB2 films which is up to 33 GPa. However, the [Ti/TiB2]n multilayered films present a considerably good adhesion, which reaches a maximum of 24 N, in comparison with the monolayer TiB2 films according to the experimental results.展开更多

Composition and structure properties were characterized by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction. It is found that mole concentrations of Zr and Nb are affected by Vb, which leads to the increase of binding energy of N 1s and Al 2p and decrease of binding energy of Zr 3d5/2 and Nb 3d5/2. Surface morphologies evolution controlled by Vb could be observed. Furthermore, X-ray diffraction patterns reveal that these films show a(111) preferred orientation. Moreover, mechanical property and corrosion behavior of ZrNbAlN films were characterized by nanoindentation test and corrosion test, respectively. A maximum value of 21.85 GPa at-70 V occurs in the ZrNbAlN- bronze system, which outperforms uncoated bronze. Corrosion experiments in 0.5 mol/L NaCl and 0.5 mol/L HCl solution show that corrosion potential and corrosion current are dependent on Vb, and better anti-corrosion property could be obtained at-90 V.展开更多

Here the exchange interaction in the Sm-Co/Co (and Fe65Co35) magnetic films was characterized by measuring static (mr(H)) and demagnetized (md(H)) remanence curves. According to conventional method: δm(H)=md(H) - [1 - 2mr(H)], the exchange interaction was evaluated. Microstructural observation results showed that the Ti(C, N) films exhibited multilayer structure with most of fine nano-columnar Ti(C, N) grains existing in the films. The current of graphite target had an effect remarkably on the multilayer structure of films: the periodical thickness gradually increased as the current went up, but the grain size of films gradually decreased and even amorphous phase appeared as the current further increased. The microstructure of Ti(C, N) films changed from columnar crystallite to nanocomposite in high current of graphite target where the fine Ti(C, N) grains were distributed uniformly in the amorphous Ti(C, N) matrix, and the volume fraction of the amorphous phase increased with increasing current. Measurement results showed that the Ti(C, N) multilayer films have high rnicrohardness and low friction coefficient, and especially the film deposited in the current of 0.9 A exhibits superior properties with optimizing hardness and friction coefficient. Based on the relationship of the microstructure and the properties of films, the multilayer structure and fine grain size of Ti(C, N) films are responsible for their well mechanical and friction properties. And choosing the graphite target as the C supplier is more propitious to decrease the friction coefficients of films.展开更多

It was found that the magnetic properties varied with the thickness of Cr interlayer, especially the values of saturation magnetization Ms and the coercivity Hc fluctuated periodically with the thickness of Cr interlayer. STM images revealed that the variation of coercivity Hc was attributed to the microstructure change of SmCo layer influenced by Cr interlayer, and the variation of Ms was related to interlayer exchange coupling.展开更多

Vibrating sample magnetometer and X-ray diffraction analyser were applied to study the magnetic properties and microstructures of the films. In this paper, a novel multilayer structure is proposed, with which multilayer diamond films are deposited on silicon carbide by hot filament CVD (HFCVD) method. The different micrometric diamond grains are produced by adjusting deposition parameters. The as-deposited multilayer diamond films are characterized by scanning electron microscope (SEM) and white-light interferometry. The friction tests performed on a reciprocating ball-on-plate tribometer suggest that silicon carbide presents the friction coefficient of 0.400 for dry sliding against silicon nitride (Si3N4) ceramic counterface. With the water lubrication, the corresponding friction coefficients of silicon carbide and as-deposited multilayer diamond films further reduce to 0.193 and 0.051, respectively. The worn surfaces indicate that multilayer diamond films exhibit considerably high wear resistance.展开更多

We also use different hole transporting layers (PVK, CBP as well as poly-TPD) to prevent the formation of leakage current and to improve the luminance. The results show that the total EL emission is mostly at the fourth (60%) and fifth (40%) QD monolayers, adjacent to ITO. The effects of post annealing on the microstructure and magnetic properties of [NdFeB/α-Fe/NdFeB]-type thin films have been investigated. The X-ray diffraction (XRD) study showed that annealing of the films for 30 min at temperatures 550, 600, 650, 700 ℃ resulted in the appearance of diffraction peaks, characteristic for Nd2Fe14B tetragonal structure, α-Fe and Nd2O3 phases. The investigation using the Vibrating Sample Magnetometer (VSM) with a maximum applied field of 2 T indicated that with the increase of the annealing temperature, the magnetic properties of the multilayer films were improved and reached peak value at 650 ℃ (Hci=41.72 kA·m-1, Mr/Ms=0.4, (BH)max=30.35 kJ·m-3), after which the magnetic properties were decreased greatly. Along with the increase of the thickness of α-Fe layer from Tα-Fe>16 nm, the coercivity Hci, saturation magnetization Ms, and remanence ratio Mr/Ms all declined. As the Atomic Force Microscope (AFM) indicated, after being annealed at 650 ℃ for 30 min, the sample was showed fine surface morphology with grain size 60 nm≤dα-Fe≤80 nm and 100 nm≤dNdFeB≤150 nm.展开更多

It was found that the magnetic properties varied with the thickness of Cr interlayer, especially the values of saturation magnetization Ms and the coercivity Hc fluctuated periodically with the thickness of Cr interlayer. STM images revealed that the variation of coercivity Hc was attributed to the microstructure change of SmCo layer influenced by Cr interlayer, and the variation of Ms was related to interlayer exchange coupling.

文摘[SiO2/FePt]5/Ag thin films were deposited by RF magnetron sputtering on the glass substrates and post annealing at 550 ℃ for 30 min in vacuum. Vibrating sample magnetometer and X-ray diffraction analyser were applied to study the magnetic properties and microstructures of the films. The results show that without Ag underlayer [SiO2/FePt]5 films deposited onto the glass are FCC disordered; with the addition of Ag underlayer [SiO]FePt]5/Ag films are changed into L10 and (111) mixed texture. The variation of the SiO2 nonmagnetic layer thickness in [SiO2/FePt]5/Ag films indicates that SiO2-doping plays an important role in improving the order parameter and the perpendicular magnetic anisotropy, and reducing the grain size and intergrain interactions. By controlling SiO2 thickness the highly perpendicular magnetic anisotropy can be obtained in the [SiO2 (0.6 nm)/FePt (3 nm)]5/Ag (50 nm) films and highly (001)-oriented films can be obtained in the [SiO2 (2 nm)/FePt (3 nm)]5/Ag (50 nm) films.

文摘It is a challenge to reduce the dielectric loss and increase the tunability of pure barium strontium titanate(BST)films for microwave tunable application because these two properties change simultaneously.Herein,a novel composite of strontium titanate(ST)and potassium-doped BST(KBST)has been designed as ST/KBST/ST sandwich-type film with various ST and KBST layers.X-ray diffraction patterns show that the film exhibits cubic perovskite polycrystalline structure composed of BST and ST phase, mainly grow along(110)crystal plane with average grain size of less than 20 nm and decreasing BST phase/ST phase ratio with increasing film thickness.Scanning electron microscope shows that no interfacial layer can be observed, indicating that ST and KBST are fully compounded.Low dielectric loss and high tunability at-10-10 V and stable and excellent dielectric properties at 1 GHz are achieved, meeting the needs of microwave tunable application at high frequency. The surface structures are also studied by other analysis methods, and ST/MgBST/ST sandwich-type film is compared.

文摘Tribological properties of chemical vapor deposition (CVD) diamond films greatly affect its application in the mechanical field. The worn surfaces indicate that multilayer diamond films exhibit considerably high wear resistance.

文摘In order to prolong the service life of piston rings of heavy vehicle engine and decrease the friction and wear of piston rings and cylinder liner,CrMoN/MoS_2 multilayer films were deposited on the surface of rings by magnetron sputtering and low temperature ion sulfuration.FESEM equipped with EDX was adopted to analyze the compositions and morphologies of surface,cross-section,and wear scars of the multilayer films. The nano-hardness and Young's modulus of the films were measured by a nano tester.Tribologicalproperties of the films were tested by an SRV~174;4 wear tester. The experimentalresults indicate that the structures of the multilayer films are dense and compact. The films possess nano hardness value of approximately 26.7 GPa and superior ability of plastic deformation resistance. The multilayer films can activate solid lubricating, and possess an excellent antifriction and wear resistance under the conditions of heavy load, high frequency, high temperature, and dynamic load.

文摘We present a systematic analysis of the exciton-recombination zone within all-quantum-dot (QD) multilayer films using sensing QD layers in QD-based light-emitting diodes (QLEDs), and demonstrate the a11-QD multilayer films with different sequences of layers prepared by inserting a sensing blue QD layer denoted as B at various positions within four red QD multilayers denoted as R. We also use different hole transporting layers (PVK, CBP as well as poly-TPD) to prevent the formation of leakage current and to improve the luminance. The results show that the total EL emission is mostly at the fourth (60%) and fifth (40%) QD monolayers, adjacent to ITO. This presents both decreasing current density and increasing brightness with different hole transporting layers, thus resulting in more efficient performance.

文摘The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects ofpolyelectrolyte multilayer (PEM) coatings on the biological behavior of titanium (Ti) substrates. Collagen type I/hyaluronic acid (Col/HA) and chitosan/hyaluronic acid (Chi/HA) multilayer PEM coatings were introduced onto Ti substrates using layer-by-layer assembly. Contact angle instruments and quartz crystal microbalance were used for film characterization. The results obtained showed that both Col/HA and Chi/HA surfaces had high hydrophilicity and promoted cell adhesion in MC3T3-E1 pre-osteoblast and human gingival fibroblast cells. In addition, the synthesis of function-related proteins and gene expression levels in both MC3T3-E1 and fibroblast cells was higher for the Col/HA coating compared with the Chi/HA coating, indicating better cellular response to the Col/HA coating.

文摘A series of nanocomposite thin films, composed of Nd2Fe14B and α-Fe, has been prepared by DC-magnetron sputtering combined ion beam sputtering onto Si (100) substrates. As the Atomic Force Microscope (AFM) indicated, after being annealed at 650 ℃ for 30 min, the sample was showed fine surface morphology with grain size 60 nm≤dα-Fe≤80 nm and 100 nm≤dNdFeB≤150 nm.

文摘The Ga203/ZnO multilayer films are deposited on quartz substrates by magnetron sputtering, the thickness values of Ga203 layers are in a range of 19 nm-2.5 nm and the thickness of ZnO layer is a constant of 1 nm. Formation of spinel ZnGa204 film is achieved via the annealing of the Ga203/ZnO multilayer film. The influences of original Ga203 sublayer thickness on the optical and structural properties of Ga203/ZnO multilayer films and annealed films are studied. With the decrease of the thickness of Ga203 sublayer, the optical band-gap of Ga203/ZnO multilayer film decreases, the intensity of UV emission diminishes and the intensity of violet emission increases. The annealed film displays the enlarged optical band gap and the quenched violet emission. UV fluorescence bands are observed from Ga203 and ZnGa204.
文摘The ultrathin multilayer films of rare-earth-containing polyoxometalate cluster K_ 17[Eu(P_2Mo_ 17O_ 61)_2] (EuPMo) and poly(allylamine hydrochloride)(PAH) have been prepared by the Layer-by-Layer(LbL) self-assembly method. The photoluminescent behavior of the films investigated at room temperature shows the Eu 3+ characteristic emission pattern of 5D_0→ 7F_J(J=1—4). The occurrence of the photoluminescent activity confirms the potential of creating luminescent multilayer films with polyoxometalates(POMs).
