This paper presents a framework for constructing surrogate models for sensitivity analysis of structural dynamics behavior.Physical models involving deformation, such as collisions, vibrations, and penetration, are devel-oped using the material point method. To reduce the computational cost of Monte Carlo simulations, response surface models are created as surrogate models for the material point system to approximate its dynamic behavior. An adaptive randomized greedy algorithm is employed to construct a sparse polynomial chaos expansion model with a fixed order, effectively balancing the accuracy and computational efficiency of the surrogate model.Based on the sparse polynomial chaos expansion, sensitivity analysis is conducted using the global finite difference and Sobol methods.Several examples of structural dynamics are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method in addressing structural dynamics problems. 展开更多

Deployment of buoy systems is one of the most important procedures for the operation of buoy system. In the present study, a single-point mooring buoy system which contains surface buoy, cable segments with components, anchor and so on is modeled by applying multi-body dynamics method. The motion equations are developed in discrete node description and fully Cartesian coordinates. Then numerical method is used to solve the ordinary differential equations and dynamics simulations are achieved while anchor is casting from board. The trajectories and velocities of different nodes without current and with current in buoy system are obtained. The transient tension force of each part of the cable is analyzed in the process of deployment. Numerical results indicate that the transient payload increases to a peak value when the anchor is touching the seabed and the maximum tension force will vary with different floating configuration. This work is helpful for design and deployment planning of buoy system. 展开更多

This study establishes the launch dynamics method, sensitivity analysis method, and multiobjective dynamic optimization method for the dynamic simulation analysis of the multiple launch rocket system(MLRS)based on the Riccati transfer matrix method for multibody systems(RMSTMM),direct differentiation method(DDM),and genetic algorithm(GA),respectively. Results show that simulation results of the dynamic response agree well with test results. The sensitivity analysis method is highly programming, the matrix order is low,and the calculation time is much shorter than that of the Lagrange method. With the increase of system complexity, the advantage of a high computing speed becomes more evident.Structural parameters that have the greatest influence on the dynamic response include the connection stiffness between the pitching body and the rotating body, the connection stiffness between the rotating body and the vehicle body, and the connection stiffnesses among 14^(#),16^(#),and 17^(#)wheels and the ground, which are the optimization design variables. After optimization, angular velocity variances of the pitching body in the revolving and pitching directions are reduced by 97.84%and 95.22%,respectively. 展开更多

A reproducing kernel collocation method based on strong formulation is introduced for transient dynamics. To study the stability property of this method, an algorithm based on the von Neumann hypothesis is proposed to predict the critical time step. A numerical test is conducted to validate the algorithm. The numerical critical time step and the predicted critical time step are in good agreement. The results are compared with those obtained based on the radial basis collocation method, and they axe in good agreement. Several important conclusions for choosing a proper support size of the reproducing kernel shape function are given to improve the stability condition. 展开更多

The dynamic behavior of floating offshore wind turbine (FOWT) is crucial for its design and optimization. A novel dynamics analysis method for the spar-type FOWT system is proposed in this paper based on the theorem of moment of momentum and the Newton’s second law. The full nonlinearity of the equations of motion (EOMs) and the full nonlinear coupling between external loads and the motions are preserved in this method. Compared with the conventional methods, this method is more transparent and it can be applied directly to the large-amplitude rotation cases. An in-house code is developed to implement this method. The capability of in-house code is verified by comparing its simulation results with those predicted by FAST. Based on the in-house code, the dynamic responses of a spar-type FOWT system are investigated under various conditions. 展开更多

The safety of risers in hang-off states is a vital challenge in offshore oil and gas engineering.A new hang-off system installed on top of risers is proposed for improving the security of risers. This approach leads to a challenging problem:coupling the dynamics of risers with a new hang-off system combined with multiple structures and complex constraints. To accurately analyze the dynamic responses of the coupled system,a coupled dynamic model is established based on the Euler-Bernoulli beam-column theory and penalty function method.A comprehensive analysis method is proposed for coupled dynamic analysis by combining the finite element method and the Newmarkβmethod. An analysis program is also developed in MATLAB for dynamic simulation. The simulation results show that the dynamic performances of the risers at the top part are significantly improved by the new hang-off system, especially the novel design, which includes the centralizer and articulation joint. The bending moment and lateral deformation of the risers at the top part decrease, while the hang-off joint experiences a great bending moment at the bottom of the lateral restraint area which requires particular attention in design and application. The platform navigation speed range under the safety limits of risers expands with the new hang-off system in use. 展开更多

The dynamic analysis of a pipe system is one of the most crucial problems for the entire mining system. A discrete element method (DEM) is proposed for the analysis of a deep-ocean mining pipe system, including the lift pipe, pump, buffer and flexible hose. By the discrete element method, the pipe is divided into some rigid elements that are linked by flexible connectors. First, two examples representing static analysis and dynamic analysis respectively are given to show that the DEM model is feasible. Then the three-dimensional DEM model is used for dynamic analysis of the mining pipe system. The dynamic motions of the entire mining pipe system under different work conditions are discussed. The dynamic inhomogeneous finite element method is studied for use in the transient analysis of one dimensional inhomogeneous media. The general formula of the inhomogeneous consistent mass matrix is established based on the shape function. In order to research the advantages of this method, it is compared with the general finite element method. A linear bar element is chosen for the discretization tests of material parameters with two fictitious distributions. And, a numerical example is solved to observe the differences in the results between these two methods. Some characteristics of the dynamic inhomogeneous finite element method that demonstrate its advantages are obtained through comparison with the general finite element method. It is found that the method can be used to solve elastic wave motion problems with a large element scale and a large number of iteration steps. 展开更多

Considering that there are some limitations in analyzing the anti-sliding seismic stability of dam-foundation systems with the traditional pseudo-static method and response spectrum method, the dynamic strength reduction method was used to study the deep anti-sliding stability of a high gravity dam with a complex dam foundation in response to strong earthquake-induced ground action. Based on static anti-sliding stability analysis of the dam foundation undertaken by decreasing the shear strength parameters of the rock mass in equal proportion, the seismic time history analysis was carried out. The proposed instability criterion for the dynamic strength reduction method was that the peak values of dynamic displacements and plastic strain energy change suddenly with the increase of the strength reduction factor. The elasto-plastic behavior of the dam foundation was idealized using the Drucker-Prager yield criterion based on the associated flow rule assumption. The result of elasto-plastic time history analysis of an overflow dam monolith based on the dynamic strength reduction method was compared with that of the dynamic linear elastic analysis, and the reliability of elasto-plastic time history analysis was confirmed. The results also show that the safety factors of the dam-foundation system in the static and dynamic cases are 3.25 and 3.0, respectively, and that the F2 fault has a significant influence on the anti-sliding stability of the high gravity dam. It is also concluded that the proposed instability criterion for the dynamic strength reduction method is feasible. 展开更多

A semi-analytical and semi-numerical method is proposed for the dynamic analysis of foundations. The Lamb's solution and the approximate formulae were used to establish the relation of the contact force and deflection between the foundation and soil. Therefore, the foundation can be separated from soil and analyzed by FEM as for the static cases. The plate can be treated as that the known forces are acting on the upper surface, and the contact pressure from soil can be represented as the deflection. So that only the plate needs to be divided into elements in the analysis. By this method, a series of vibration problems, including various shapes and rigidities of foundations, different excitation frequencies, were analyzed. Furthermore, it can be used for the embedded foundation. The numerical examples show that this method has simplicity, highly accurate and versatile. For establishing the refined numerical simulation model for coupled vibration between vehicle and bridge, the refined three-dimensional vehicle model is setup by multi-body system dynamics method, and finite element method of dynamic model is adopted to model the bridge. Taking Yujiang River Bridge on Nanning-Guangzhou railway line in China as study background, the?refined numerical simulation model of whole vehicle and whole bridge system for coupled vibration analysis is set up. The dynamic analysis model of the cable-stayed bridge is established by finite element method, and the natural vibration properties of the bridge are analyzed. The German ICE Electric Multiple Unit (EMU) train refined three-dimensional space vehicle model is set up by multi-system dynamics software SIMPACK, and the multiple non-linear properties are considered. The space vibration responses are calculated by co-simulation based on multi-body system dynamics and finite element method when the ICE EMU train passes the long span cable-stayed bridge at different speeds.
