This study introduces an innovative dual-tunable absorption film with the capability to switch between ultra-wideband and narrowband absorption.By manipulating the temperature,the film can achieve multi-band absorption within the 30-45 THz range or ultra-wideband absorption spanning 30-130 THz,with an absorption rate exceeding 0.9.Furthermore,the structural parameters of the absorption film are optimized using the particle swarm optimization(PSO)algorithm to ensure the optimal absorption response.The absorption response of the film is primarily attributed to the coupling of guided-mode resonance and local surface plasmon resonance effects.The film's symmetric structure enables polarization incoherence and allows for tuning through various means such as doping/voltage,temperature and structural parameters.In the case of a multi-band absorption response,the film exhibits good sensitivity to refractive index changes in multiple absorption modes.Additionally,the absorption spectrum of the film remains effective even at large incidence angles,making it highly promising for applications in fields such as biosensing and infrared stealth. 展开更多

The naturally fermented Inner Mongolian cheese’s flavor and nutritional value make it a popular choice among customers.In this work,to create multi-functional peptides that have taste and biological activity,peptidomics and bioinformatics were used to screen flavor peptides from Inner Mongolian cheese and further assess their antioxidant and angiotensin I-converting enzyme(ACE)inhibitory properties.According to sensory data,YH8 and IL7 had detectable bitter tastes with low thresholds of 0.03 and 0.06 mmol/L,respectively.With an umami threshold range of 0.24‒0.81 mmol/L,VQ6,FK13,HP13 and QT14 exhibited a range of flavors dominated by umami,including sweet,bitter,salty,sour and kokumi.Antioxidant activity wise,YH8,VQ6,HP13 and QT14 were well represented.The above-mentioned peptides all had some ACE inhibitory effect.The bitter peptide IL7(IC_(50)=0.08 mmol/L)had the highest level of ACE inhibitory activity,followed by YH8(IC_(50)=0.33 mmol/L).These multi-functional peptides,which have been assessed for bioactive and taste features in Inner Mongolian cheese,may have positive impacts on health and harmonize the cheese’s overall flavor.These results suggest that some flavor peptides produced in fermented foods might be with bioactivities while providing a basis for the exploration and application of multi-functional peptides. 展开更多

Comprehensive evaluation on Si/SiC hybrid switch including single-pulse avalanche and short-circuit robustness

In this paper,a comprehensive evaluation on the silicon/silicon carbide(Si/SiC)hybrid switch is performed through experimental tests in terms of both electrical performance and robustness under extreme stresses.Based on the optional turn-on and turn-off delay times under the efficiency control mode obtained from the double-pulse test(DPT),both nondestructive and destructive single-pulse avalanche tests are conducted on the Si/SiC hybrid switch as well as on the two discrete device branches inside the hybrid switch.In addition,the avalanche voltage,critical avalanche energy,and peak avalanche current,which intrinsically characterize the unclamped-inductive-switching(UIS)avalanche characteristics,are carefully examined.In this way,the physical factors dominating the UIS characteristics of the hybrid switch,thus limiting its single-pulse avalanche withstand capability,are specifically and comprehensively identified;the underlying physical mechanisms are analyzed and revealed in depth,and how the gate control sequence affects the UIS characteristics of the hybrid switch is extensively investigated.We additionally carry out short-circuit(SC)tests under the fault-under-load(FUL)condition and perform a parallel in-depth analysis to experimentally determine which branch dominates the SC withstand capability of the hybrid switch.Our experimental study indicates that,for both SC robustness and single-pulse avalanche capability,the limiting factor is a single device branch among the two parallel discrete devices,and the UIS behavior is sensitive to the variation of the gate turn-off delay time Toff_delay.The study conducted in this paper not only provides deep academic insights into the electrical performance and reliability of the Si/SiC hybrid switch,but also offers fundamental theoretical principles and technical evidence to support its more efficient and long-term reliable applications of the hybrid switch in the industrial fields. 展开更多

A stochastic predator-prey system with Markov switching is explored.We have developed a new chasing technique to efficiently solve the Fokker-Planck-Kolmogorov and backward Kolmogorov equations.Dynamic balance and reliability of the switching system are evaluated via stationary probability density function and first-passage failure theory,taking into account factors such as switching frequencies,noise intensities,and initial conditions.Results reveal that Markov switching leads to stochastic P-bifurcation,enhancing dynamic balance and reducing white-noise-induced oscillations.But frequent switching can heighten initial value dependence,harming reliability.Further,the influence of the subsystem on the switching system is not proportional to its action probabilities.Monte Carlo simulations validate the findings,offering an in-depth exploration of these dynamics. 展开更多

Coherent perfect absorption(CPA)and coherent perfect transmission(CPT)are two extreme states arising from the manipulation of optical fields.Generally,CPA and CPT occur under different input-field phases.Therefore,we propose a scheme to realize an all-optical switch based on phase-dependent CPA–CPT conversion.In our proposal,the CPT state and the CPA state are treated as the on state and the off state,respectively.Consequently,the efficiency of this all-optical switch can reach the maximum value of 1.With the introduction of an incoherent pump field,the CPA state can be achieved under a weaker input probe field or can be converted into a CPT state.The results show that the optical switch can operate with weaker fields and can be further optimized by the application of an incoherent field. 展开更多

Field-effect nanofluidic transistors(FENTs),biomimicking the structure and functionality of neuron,act as biological transistors with the ability to gate switching responses to external stimuli.The switching ratio has been verified to evaluate the performance of FENTs,but until recently,the response time,another crucial indicator,has been ignored.Employing finite-element method,we investigated the relationship among gate charge,switching ratio and response time by divisionally manipulating gate charge,including entrance surface and the surface of confinement space,for ion transport to optimize switching capability.The dual-split gate charge on FENTs exhibits synergistic effect on switching response.Based on the two regional gate charge on FENTs,multivalence ions in lower concentration,high aspect ratio and single channel show higher switching ratio but longer response time compared to monovalent ions.The findings highlight the necessity of balancing these two signals in FENTs and offer insights for optimizing their design and expanding applications to dual-signal-detection iontronics. 展开更多

When VO_2 is in the insulation phase, the resonance frequencies of the proposed structure are 1.49 THz and 1.22 THz for the x- and y-polarization, respectively. It can perform as a THz polarizer with extinction ratios of 52.5 dB and 17 dB for the y- and x-polarization, respectively; When VO_2 transforms into metallic phase, the resonance frequency for x-polarization wave shifts from 1.49 THz to 1.22 THz, while that remains still for the y-polarization component. It means that the structure can work as a polarization-dependent THz switch with a high extinction ratio of 32 dB. 展开更多

Soft machines harness material-level physical intelligence to perform adaptive tasks,enabling advancements in biomedical and human-machine interaction fields.Soft switches are the basic building blocks to achieve intelligent functions like autonomous decisions and mechanical computation.However,current soft switches suffer from complex fabrication processes,limited performance,and a lack of multimodal control,which hinder their practical application and the realization of machine intelligence.Herein,by harnessing the unique self-pinch and self-healing effects of the gallium-based liquid metals(LMs),we describe a soft high-performance electric switch composed of an LM line encapsulated within an elastomer.Applying pressure to deform the LM switch can increase local current density,leading to the electromagnetic self-pinch effect for switching off.After releasing pressure,the LM can spontaneously heal with the elastic recovery of the elastomer for switching on.This LM switch shows comprehensive advantages,including a compact design(0.5 mm×1.5 mm×10 mm),good stretchability(100%),high on/off ratio(~10^(9)),rapid response time(<100 ms),and excellent durability(>12000 cycles).Moreover,the LM switches enable multiple control modes,including magnetic and optical stimulation,through the integration of responsive materials.We demonstrate various LM switch-enabled functional soft machines,such as an interactive flexible gripper,a self-oscillating soft crawler,and wearable logic gates.This work will open new avenues for the application of LM in intelligent soft machines and advanced wearable electronics. 展开更多

High Speed on/off Valve(HSV)is an essential component in Aerospace Digital Hydraulic Systems(ADHS),which impose stringent requirements on the dynamic performance and reliability of HSV due to the extreme application environments.However,the faster dynamic leads to increased impact between the spool and valve body,causing severe vibration and wear,which creates a conflict between rapid dynamic and high reliability.To address this problem,a Pre-Excitation Soft Switching Control(PESSC)with both pre-excitation and reverse deceleration functionalities is proposed.The initial current is optimized through pre-excitation to accelerate the opening time,while the application of reverse voltage hastens the decline of electromagnetic force,thereby reducing the spool velocity.The PESSC simultaneously achieves both faster dynamic performance and smaller impact velocity.Moreover,the optimal deceleration voltage parameters are obtained through multi-objective optimization.Experimental results demonstrate that the optimized PESSC shortens the opening time from 2.22 ms to 1.65 ms,reduces the impact velocity by 58.3%,and lowers wear by 55.4%.These findings underline the huge potential of PESSC in enhancing the dynamic performance and reliability of HSVs,offering promising applications in aerospace. 展开更多

This paper is concerned with adaptive consensus tracking control of nonlinear multi-agent systems with actuator faults and unknown nonidentical control directions under double semi-Markovian switching topologies.Considering the complex working environment and the stability differences in communication links between leaders and followers,a double semi-Markov process is first introduced to describe the random switching of communication topologies in the leader-follower structure.In order to address challenges from the unknown nonidentical control directions and partial loss of effectiveness actuator faults,a completely independent parameter is introduced into the Nussbaum function to overcome the inherent obstacle of mutual cancellation and avoid the rapid growth rate.Considering only the state information of agents is transmitted among the agents,an adaptive distributed fault-tolerant consensus tracking control is proposed based on the double semi-Markovian switching topologies using the designed Nussbaum function.Furthermore,the stability of the closed-loop nonlinear multi-agent systems is analyzed using contradiction argument and Lyapunov theorem,from which the asymptotic consensus tracking in mean square sense can be obtained.A numerical simulation example is provided to verify the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm. 展开更多

Giant Enhancement of Perpendicular Magnetic Anisotropy and Field-Free Switching Through Interfacial Engineering in Pt/Co/Pt Heterostructures

The enhancement of perpendicular magnetic anisotropy(PMA)is critical for the continuous growth of magnetic memory density.Material systems that possess high interfacial PMA typically involve strong spin-orbit coupling(SOC)or transition metal/oxide interfaces.In contrast,the role of 3d light metals in enhancing the interfacial PMA has been less investigated.This study demonstrated that the insertion of a few atomic Cr layers into Pt/Co/Pt/Ta heterostructures with Cr between the 1 atomic Pt layer and the 3 nm Ta overlayer enhanced the effective PMA energy(K_(eff))by a factor of 4.First-principles calculations revealed that the underlying mechanism originated from Cr-Pt d-orbital hybridization,leading to a corresponding orbital redistribution and significantly increasing the magnetic anisotropy energy.The progressive reduction in the spin-orbit torque(SOT)efficiency with increasing Cr thickness might stem from the enhanced orbital Rashba–Edelstein effect at the Pt/Cr interface.Furthermore,the wedging of a few atomic Cr layers caused the robust field-free SOT switching of perpendicular magnetization,which was due to the lateral PMA gradients enabled by the strong dependence of the PMA on the Cr thickness.The results provide a method for interfacial PMA enhancement by d-orbital hybridization of 3d–5d electrons and an alternative to field-free SOT switching towards low-power and high-density memory applications. 展开更多

Multi-functional Al-matrix composites with high volume fraction (55%-57%) of SiC particles are produced with the new pressureless infiltration fabrication technology. X-ray detection and microscopic observation display the composites which are macroscopically homogeneous without porosity. The investigation further reveals that the SiC/Al composites possess low density (2.94 g/cm^3), high elastic modulus (220 GPa), prominent thermal management function as a result of low coefficient of thermal expansion (8 × 10^4 K^-1) and high thermal conductivity (235 W/(m.K)) as well as unique preventability of resonance vibration. By adopting a series of developed techniques, the multi-functional SiC/Al composites have managed to be made into near-net-shape parts. Many kinds of precision components of space-based optomechanical structures and airborne optoelectronic platform have been turned out. The robust magnesium surfaces with multi-functions are highly desirable,and the simple and scalable methods to construct such surfaces are urgently indispensable.Herein,we conducted a one-step spraying method to facilely fabricate the robust coating with multi-functions on magnesium alloys.The as-sprayed magnesium alloys surface is superhydrophobic with a static water contact angle(WCA)of 157.0°and a roll-off angle of 6.0°.Such surface has excellent mechanical,chemical and thermal stabilities,even undergoing various physical and chemical damages,including sand impact(10 gmin^(-1),≥20 min),water impact(2 impacts s^(-1),≥180 min),abrasion(1.00 kPa,≥25 cycles),peeling(≥2.15 kPa),high temperature(200°C,≥24 h),strong acidic/salty/basic media(p H=113)and organic-solvent immersion(ethanol and n-hexane,≥24 h),demonstrating brilliant robustness.Notably,the surface displays multi-functions of corrosion protection,anti-fouling and heat insulation,which will undoubtedly promote the much wider applications of magnesium alloys. 展开更多

To fulfill the demands for higher quality,efficiency and flexibility in aviation industry,a multi-functional end effector is designed to automate the drilling and riveting processes in assembling carbon fiber reinforced polymer(CFRP)and aluminum components for a robotic aircraft assembly system.To meet the specific functional requirements for blind rivet installation on CFRP and aluminum materials,additional modules are incorporated on the end effector aside of the basic processing modules for drilling.And all of these processing modules allow for a onestep-drilling-countersinking process,hole inspection,automatic rivet feed,rivet geometry check,sealant application,rivet insertion and installation.Besides,to guarantee the better quality of the hole drilled and joints riveted,several online detection and adjustment measures are applied to this end effector,including the reference detection and perpendicular calibration,which could effectively ensure the positioning precision and perpendicular accuracy as demanded.Finally,the test result shows that this end effector is capable of producing each hole to a positioning precision within ±0.5 mm,aperpendicular accuracy within 0.3°,a diameter tolerance of H8,and a countersink depth tolerance of±0.01 mm.Moreover,it could drill and rivet up to three joints per minute,with acceptable shearing and tensile strength. 展开更多

Folate receptor(FR)overexpression occurs in a variety of cancers,including pancreatic cancer.In addition,enhanced macropinocytosis exists in K-Ras mutant pancreatic cancer.Furthermore,the occurrence of intensive desmoplasia causes a hypoxic microenvironment in pancreatic cancer.In this study,a novel FR-directed,macropinocytosis-enhanced,and highly cytotoxic bioconjugate folate(F)-human serum albumin(HSA)-apoprotein of lidamycin(LDP)-active enediyne(AE)derived from lidamycin was designed and prepared.F-HSA-LDP-AE consisted of four moieties:F,HSA,LDP,and AE.F-HSA-LDP presented high binding efficiency with the FR and pancreatic cancer cells.Its uptake in wild-type cells was more extensive than in K-Ras mutant-type cells.By in vivo optical imaging,F-HSA-LDP displayed prominent tumor-specific biodistribution in pancreatic cancer xenograft-bearing mice,showing clear and lasting tumor localization for 360 h.In the MTT assay,F-HSA-LDP-AE demonstrated potent cytotoxicity in three types of pancreatic cancer cell lines.It also induced apoptosis and caused G2/M cell cycle arrest.F-HSALDP-AE markedly suppressed the tumor growth of AsPc-1 pancreatic cancer xenografts in athymic mice.At well-tolerated doses of 0.5 and 1 mg/kg,(i.v.,twice),the inhibition rates were 91.2%and 94.8%,respectively(P<0.01).The results of this study indicate that the F-HSA-LDP multi-functional bioconjugate might be effective for treating K-Ras mutant pancreatic cancer. 展开更多

To cope with the problem of emitter identification caused by the radar words' uncertainty of measured multi-function radar emitters, this paper proposes a new identification method based on stochastic syntax-directed translation schema(SSDTS). This method, which is deduced from the syntactic modeling of multi-function radars, considers the probabilities of radar phrases appearance in different radar modes as well as the probabilities of radar word errors occurrence in different radar phrases. It concludes that the proposed method can not only correct the defective radar words by using the stochastic translation schema, but also identify the real radar phrases and working modes of measured emitters concurrently. Furthermore, a number of simulations are presented to demonstrate the identification capability and adaptability of the SSDTS algorithm.The results show that even under the condition of the defective radar words distorted by noise,the proposed algorithm can infer the phrases, work modes and types of measured emitters correctly. 展开更多
