As silicon-based transistors face fundamental scaling limits,the search for breakthrough alternatives has led to innovations in 3D architectures,heterogeneous integration,and sub-3 nm semiconductor body thicknesses.Ho...As silicon-based transistors face fundamental scaling limits,the search for breakthrough alternatives has led to innovations in 3D architectures,heterogeneous integration,and sub-3 nm semiconductor body thicknesses.However,the true effectiveness of these advancements lies in the seamless integration of alternative semiconductors tailored for next-generation transistors.In this review,we highlight key advances that enhance both scalability and switching performance by leveraging emerging semiconductor materials.Among the most promising candidates are 2D van der Waals semiconductors,Mott insulators,and amorphous oxide semiconductors,which offer not only unique electrical properties but also low-power operation and high carrier mobility.Additionally,we explore the synergistic interactions between these novel semiconductors and advanced gate dielectrics,including high-K materials,ferroelectrics,and atomically thin hexagonal boron nitride layers.Beyond introducing these novel material configurations,we address critical challenges such as leakage current and long-term device reliability,which become increasingly crucial as transistors scale down to atomic dimensions.Through concrete examples showcasing the potential of these materials in transistors,we provide key insights into overcoming fundamental obstacles—such as device reliability,scaling down limitations,and extended applications in artificial intelligence—ultimately paving the way for the development of future transistor technologies.展开更多

Purpose-Forty years ago,China made a critical decision to reform and open up,achieving sustained economic growth.Simultaneously,China continued to center efforts on achieving its education modernization goals.It succe...Purpose-Forty years ago,China made a critical decision to reform and open up,achieving sustained economic growth.Simultaneously,China continued to center efforts on achieving its education modernization goals.It succeeded in the unconventional development of education,consolidating a population of nearly 1.4 billion into a powerful human-resource-centered nation and creating favorable interactive relationships with social and economic development.This paper aims to explore how these achievements were gained and how these relationships were made.Design/Approach/Methods-This paper is conceptual in nature.Findings-Based on the policy documents and development practice,this paper proposes a model of Dual Priority Agenda(DPA),whereby the government prioritized education development,and this development focused predominantly on promoting national development.Originality/Value-By elaborating the background,characteristics,rationales,and mechanisms of the DPA,this paper contributes to a new conceptualization of reciprocal relationship between the state and educational modernization.展开更多
Purpose:This article aims to shed light on a latest education policy blueprint in China,titled China’s education modernization 2035,which was issued by the Central Government of China in February of 2019.Design/Appro...Purpose:This article aims to shed light on a latest education policy blueprint in China,titled China’s education modernization 2035,which was issued by the Central Government of China in February of 2019.Design/Approach/Methods:This is an analytical policy review.Findings:The author argues that this new Chinese educational policy was driven by three factors:UN 2030 Agenda,China’s national strategy,and Chinese educational reform and improvement.In China’s education modernization 2035,eight key principles were rooted in the Chinese context and also recognized by international society.According to this policy initiative,10 specific strategical tasks are outlined to reform Chinese education toward 2035.Originality/Value:The article will be useful to learn and understand the new directions and the future approaches of Chinese education development and reform toward 2035.展开更多
The governance system is the institutional carrier and mechanism guaranteeing the operation of the state.The Western governance dilemma and China’s governance practice show that state dominance is the intrinsic logic...The governance system is the institutional carrier and mechanism guaranteeing the operation of the state.The Western governance dilemma and China’s governance practice show that state dominance is the intrinsic logic behind the modernization of the governance system.As a worldwide issue,the core question in the logic of state modernization of the governance system is to develop governance rules,procedures and orders that effectively respond to and resolve the problems of the state-society relationship.In other words,state logic is rooted in the historical process of the dynamic evolution of the building of the state-society relationship community,and looks toward practice in solving the issue of balanced national development.In advocating a modern governance system led by state logic,China does not simply wish to continue the master page of its history and culture,but to hold fast to being guided by the issues and focusing on the transformation of the principal contradictions of Chinese society to bring about good governance that is oriented toward the people,in order to systematically respond to the major adjustments in national governance variables brought about by IT development and globalization.In the current context in which governance solutions dominated by the logic of capital have difficulty coping with global problems of development,adhering to the logic of the state in modernizing the governance system not only helps us break away from “polycentric governance” and correctly ensures that the state plays an authoritative and leading role in the governance system while also providing an institutional framework and mechanism that achieves social justice,improves market efficiency and fosters social autonomy,thus forging a new type of civilization for national and global governance on a global scale.展开更多
