BACKGROUND Although transarterial chemoembolization(TACE)is an effective treatment for liver cancer,clinical practice has shown that many patients experience significant psychological distress following the procedure,...BACKGROUND Although transarterial chemoembolization(TACE)is an effective treatment for liver cancer,clinical practice has shown that many patients experience significant psychological distress following the procedure,which can hinder postoperative recovery and prognosis.Therefore,effective and evidence-based interventions are urgently needed to address this issue.AIM To evaluate the impact of nursing quality-sensitive indicators combined with mindfulness-based stress reduction(MBSR)interventions in patients undergoing TACE.METHODS A total of 84 patients who underwent TACE from June 2022 to March 2024 were enrolled in the study.They were randomly assigned to either the observation group(n=42),which received nursing quality-sensitive indicator-based care combined with MBSR intervention,or the control group(n=42),which received routine care combined with MBSR intervention.Psychological stress response levels[assessed using the Trait Meta-Mood Scale(TMMS)],coping strategies[measured with the Jalowiec Coping Scale(JCS)],quality of care[evaluated using the Perceived Nursing Service Quality(PNSQ)scale],and overall patient satisfaction were compared between the two groups.RESULTS After 4 weeks,the observation group demonstrated significantly higher TMMS scores,as well as increased optimism,support-seeking,bravery,PNSQ scores,and satisfaction(P<0.05).In contrast,scores for selfdependence,conservatism,resignation,and avoidance in the JCS were significantly lower in the observation group than in the control group(P<0.05).CONCLUSION The combination of nursing quality-sensitive indicators and MBSR intervention in TACE patients not only reduces psychological stress and encourages a more positive attitude toward illness but also enhances nursing quality and improves the overall patient experience.展开更多
BACKGROUND Seek highly effective treatment measures for improving mood and sleep.AIM To explore the effects of mood and depression in patients with endometrial cancer after cognitive behavioral therapy(CBT)and mindful...BACKGROUND Seek highly effective treatment measures for improving mood and sleep.AIM To explore the effects of mood and depression in patients with endometrial cancer after cognitive behavioral therapy(CBT)and mindfulness-based stress reduction.METHODS In a prospective study,90 patients with diabetes,endometrial cancer,and depression were selected from January 2023 to January 2024 in our hospital.There were 45 patients in the control group and 45 patients in the observation group.In addition to the conventional treatment,the control group received cognitive behavioral treatment,and the observation group:Control group was given to compare changes in mood state and sleep quality before and after the intervention.Follow-up was performed3 months after treatment completion.RESULTS Before treatment,the mood and sleep quality scores between the two groups(P>0.05);in the observation group,the 5 negative mood scores were lower and lower than the control group;the 2 positive mood scores were higher than in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);compared with before treatment,the 7 sleep quality scores and Pittsburgh sleep quality index scale total score in the observation group and lower in the control group(P<0.05).CONCLUSION In patients with diabetes and endometrial cancer,mood state and sleep quality significantly improved after CBT and breathing relaxation.These findings provide new and effective treatment strategies in clinical practice.展开更多
Background:Theory of Mind(ToM)and empathy are crucial cognitive and emotional capacities that influence social interactions.While their role in promoting prosocial behavior has been established,the potential moderatin...Background:Theory of Mind(ToM)and empathy are crucial cognitive and emotional capacities that influence social interactions.While their role in promoting prosocial behavior has been established,the potential moderating effect of mindfulness on this relationship remains unexplored.Understanding these complex interactions is vital for developing effective interventions to foster prosocial behavior among college students.This study examines the influence of ToM on college students’prosocial behavior and explores the moderating role of mindfulness in this relationship.Methods:A mixed-methods approach combining questionnaires and experimental design was employed.Study 1:A survey of 759 college students(mean age 22.03 years;477 females)was conducted using the ToM Scale,Interpersonal Reactivity Index,Prosocial Behavior Tendency Scale,and Mindfulness Awareness Scale.Data were analyzed using correlation and moderated mediation analyses.Study 2:An 8-week mindfulness attention training program was implemented for the intervention group and compared with a control group.Mindfulness training served as a moderating variable to validate Model 59 from Study 1.Results:1.Study 1 found:(a)ToM was significantly positively correlated with prosocial behavior(r=0.31,p<0.01).(b)Empathy partially mediated the relationship between ToM and prosocial behavior(β=0.10,p<0.001,95%CI[0.06,0.14]).(c)Mindfulness negatively moderated the direct path between ToM and three dimensions of prosocial behavior,as well as the indirect path between empathy and kin altruism and reciprocal altruism.Specifically,high levels of mindfulness weakened the direct impact of ToM on prosocial behavior.High levels of mindfulness also weakened the indirect influence of ToM on prosocial behavior through empathy.2.Study 2 results showed:(a)The intervention group had significantly higher levels of trait mindfulness compared to the control group(t=2.56,p<0.05).(b)The validity of the moderated mediation model 59 from Study 1 was verified.Conclusion:While ToM and empathy play crucial roles in fostering prosocial behavior,mindfulness exhibits a more complex influence than anticipated,potentially inhibiting prosocial behavior under certain circumstances.These findings offer novel insights into the psychological mechanisms underlying prosocial behavior and underscore the importance of considering multiple interacting factors in its promotion.展开更多

The objective of this systematic review is to examine the effectiveness of psychotherapy in treating Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder(PTSD)in military personnel.PubMed,Web of Science,The Cochrane Library,EBSCO and CNKI ...The objective of this systematic review is to examine the effectiveness of psychotherapy in treating Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder(PTSD)in military personnel.PubMed,Web of Science,The Cochrane Library,EBSCO and CNKI databases were searched from 1 January,2000 to November 2022 for Randomized Controlled Trials(RCTs)on psychotherapeutic interventions for military PTSD.The physical Therapy Evidence Database(PEDro)scale was used to evaluate the quality of the literature.Two researchers conducted literature screening,data extraction,and risk bias assessment in accordance with inclusion and exclusion criteria.Ultimately,49 RCTs were included,involving a total of 5073 veterans,retired and active military from four countries.The average score on the PEDro scale was 7.60.The primary psychotherapeutic modalities for military PTSD intervention include Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy,Exposure Therapy,Mindfulness interventions,psychotherapy based on new technological tools,and other emerging psychotherapeutic tools.The review highlights that Cognitive Processing Therapy(CPT)and Prolonged Exposure Therapy(PET)stand out as the primary psychotherapeutic modalities for treating PTSD in military personnel.In cases where CPT and PET yield limited benefits,Mindfulness interventions emerge as effective alternatives.Moreover,considering the diverse needs and high dropout rates in the military,population,the review suggests using web-based,computer,and virtual reality technology tools as supplements to first-line treatments(CPT/PET)to enhance overall intervention effectiveness.For the advancement of future psychotherapeutic initiatives,there is a pronounced emphasis on prioritizing proven first-line interventions,CPT and PET while also recognizing the potential of mindfulness-based interventions as credible alternatives.In tandem with this,the active integration of technological tools is advocated to amplify the therapeutic impact of conventional psychological treatment modalities.展开更多
Purpose:This study examined the effectiveness of a I2-week mindfulness curriculum for at-risk,urban adolescents.Of particular interest was whether participation in the intervention was associated with gains in self-re...Purpose:This study examined the effectiveness of a I2-week mindfulness curriculum for at-risk,urban adolescents.Of particular interest was whether participation in the intervention was associated with gains in self-regulation and self-compassion.Design/Approach/Methods:The analytic sample included 217 public high school students from thirteen I Ith and 12th grade classrooms;133 students received one dose of the program,39 students received two doses,and 45 students served as a control group.The program was delivered by a trained mindfulness instructor who met with the classrooms once a week for 45 min.Adolescents completed self-report measures tapping self-regulation and self-compassion at pretest and posttest.Findings:Results indicated significant benefits of the intervention for adolescents'selfcompassion among both intervention groups.The effect was larger among students participating for the first time(one-dose group)than for those who were participating for a second time(twodose group).There was also evidence that the program supported self-regulation,as students in both intervention dosage groups maintained their levels of long-term regulation relative to their peers in the control group who reported a decline over time.Originality/Value:While both self-regulation and self-compassion were supported as mechanisms of change associated with mindfulness-based intervention,the effects of dosage differed across the two constructs.The impacts of timing and dosage need to be examined in future research to better understand the sustainability of program effects for adolescents.展开更多
