The structure is developed by loading the conventional non-degenerate dual-mode resonator by open circuit stubs at two opposite corners. The filter bandwidth is controlled by only decreasing the higher cutoff frequency of the conventional type. With Square shape cuts, return loss is improved. A 20% fractional bandwidth filter is designed and implemented on FR4 material with 4.4 dielectric constant and 1.6 mm thickness at center frequency of 1.5 GHz with passband of 1.3 GHz to 1.6 GHz. Analysis has been achieved using the IE3D simulator. Experimental results do agree with simulations.展开更多

It is based on the fundamental and harmonic characteristics of a 50 Ohm transmission line that is grounded at both ends. The filter possesses design flexibility in the sense that it can operate as a stand-alone UWB component or include simple additional circuitry to create one or two notches within the ultra-wideband frequency range. The basic design principles are highlighted and verified using the results of two commercially available field solver packages. Individual filter structures with single and double notches are validated through measurements of a number of filter prototypes.展开更多

This bandpass filter has the advantage of great flexibility in which the center frequency can be changed easily. The bandwidth of this filter can be modified by simply changing one variable, and this makes the proposed design unique. The order of the elliptical patch resonator can be increased, and three types of different orders of the same design are compared. The filter is developed based on modified multiple mode resonator, which is formed by transversely attaching three pairs of non-uniform and folded stubs with lowpass and highpass sections. Both sides of high-impedance section are linked with two feed lines via direct coupled lines, resulting UWB bandpass filter. The designed filter provides 7 GHz passband between 2.5 and 9.5 GHz with approximately, –0.5 dB insertion loss, –35 dB minimum return loss at 6.85 GHz, linear phase over the passband and 110% of fractional bandwidth at –3 dB. The computed group delay variation in the passband for the filter is 0.02 ns. The overall dimension of the filter is 10.7 mm (length) × 3 mm (width) × 1.6 mm (thickness).展开更多

It has been designed for improvement of roll-off performance based on both μ and ε negative property of the complimentary hex-omega structure while maintaining the filter pass-band performance. By properly designing and loading the hexagonal-omega structure in the ground of microstrip line not only improve the roll-off of the low pass filter, but also reduced the filter size. The simulated results indicate that the proposed filter achieves a flat pass band with no ripples as well as selectivity of 19.68 dB/GHz, corresponding to 5-unit cells hex-omega structures. This significantly exceeds the 5.6 dB/GHz selectivity of the conventional low pass filter design, due to sub-lambda dimensions of the hex-omega structure. A prototype filter implementing area is: 0.712λg x 0.263λg, λg being the guided wavelength at 3-dB cut-off frequency (fc). The proposed filter has a size smaller by 36.2%.展开更多

To decrease the number of fine model evaluations, space mapping techniques may be employed. In this approach, it is assumed both fine model and coarse, fast but inaccurate, one are available. First, the coarse model is optimized to obtain design parameters satisfying design objectives. Next, auxiliary parameters are calibrated to match coarse and fine models’ responses. Then, the improved coarse model is re-optimized to obtain new design parameters. The design procedure is stopped when a satisfactory solution is reached. In this paper, an implicit space mapping method is used to design a microstrip low-pass elliptic filter. Simulation results show that only two fine model evaluations are sufficient to get satisfactory results.展开更多

By embedding asymmetric stepped impedance resonators in themselves, circuit sizes of ASIRs can be reduced effectively, while the ability to control spurious modes of ASIRs remains. Therefore, SE-ASIRs are suitable for being used to design filters with wide stopbands and miniaturized sizes. Furthermore, the construction process of the SE-ASIR is described in detail, and an equivalent model of the SE-ASIR is proposed. For demonstration, a high-temperature superconducting bandpass filter centered at 1112 MHz is designed and fabricated. The measured result agrees well with the simulation result and shows that the out-of-band rejection is better than 60 dB up to 4088 MHz, which is about 3.7 times the center frequency. The filter circuit size is 31 mm × 13 mm or 0.28λg × 0.12λg, where g is the guided wavelength at 1112 MHz.展开更多

A large ratio of the first spurious frequency to the fundamental resonant frequency is obtained, which is suitable for the design of filters with wide stopbands, and the circuit size is considerably reduced by embedding the interdigital structure in the spiral. For demonstration, a compact four-pole high temperature superconducting(HTS) filter with a center frequency of 568 MHz is designed and fabricated on double-sided YBCO film with a size of 11.4 mm×8.0 mm. The filter measurement shows excellent performance with an out-of-band rejection level better than 60.9 dB up to 3863 MHz.展开更多

The low-impedance open-end line of the quarter-wavelength Stepped-Impedance Resonator (SIR) is replaced by two open-end high-impedance lines, which not only facilitate the coupling mechanism but also provide the strong electric coupling between resonators. With the proper utilization of folded SIRs, the occupied area of coupled-resonator pair can be reduced. By applying the proposed coupled-resonator pair, the passband filter with the compact size can be realized. Good agreement between measured and simulated results is observed. The proposed filter is desirable for compact and high-performance microwave circuit applications.展开更多

The size of the proposed LPF is decreased compared with normal LPF. This LPF can be applied in rectennas to eliminate high order harmonics.展开更多
