In reality, there are different problems in different family structures, that is, the "left-behind family", "single-parent family" and "core family" all have various and different degrees of family problems, which have different effects on the physical and mental development of teenagers. Now I talk about the impact of family education on the physical and mental development of teenagers. Background Recombinant human growth hormone(rhGH)therapy has shown to improve height and body composition in children with Prader–Willi syndrome(PWS),the evidence of early rhGH treatment on motor and mental developme...Background Recombinant human growth hormone(rhGH)therapy has shown to improve height and body composition in children with Prader–Willi syndrome(PWS),the evidence of early rhGH treatment on motor and mental development is still accumulating.This study explored the time effect on psychomotor development,anthropometric indexes,and safety for infants and young children with PWS.Methods A phase 3,single-arm,multicenter,self-controlled study was conducted in six sites.Patients received rhGH at 0.5 mg/m2/day for first four weeks,and 1 mg/m2/day thereafter for up to 52 weeks.Motor development was measured using Peabody Developmental Motor Scales-second edition,mental development using Griffiths Development Scales-Chinese(GDS-C).Height standard deviation score(SDS),body weight SDS,and body mass index(BMI)SDS were also assessed.Results Thirty-five patients were enrolled totally.Significant improvements were observed in height,body weight,and BMI SDS at week 52;GDS-C score showed significant improvement in general quotient(GQ)and sub-quotients.In a linear regression analysis,total motor quotient(TMQ),gross motor quotient(GMQ),and fine motor quotient were negatively correlated with age;however,treatment may attenuate deterioration of TMQ and GMQ.Changes in GQ and locomotor sub-quotient in<9-month group were significantly higher than≥9-month group.Mild to moderate severity adverse drug reactions were reported in six patients.Conclusion Fifty-two-week treatment with rhGH improved growth,BMI,mental development,and lessened the deterioration of motor function in infants and young children with PWS.Improved mental development was more pronounced when instituted in patients<9 months old.展开更多

The proposed eight stages of psychosocial protective development are childhood (infancy, toddlerhood, pre-juvenile age, and juvenile age), adolescence, early young adulthood, late young adulthood, early middle adulthood, late middle adulthood, early late adulthood, and late late adulthood. The mental protection system consists of four socialities (collectivistic, individualistic, interdependent, and generativity), three worldviews (territorial, competitive, and cooperative), and the mental immune system for four regulated and unregulated countermeasures (hyperactivity, phobia, comforter, and rationality) against adversities. During childhood, dependent children have collectivistic sociality under the protection of committed parents and territorial worldview with the boundary of family. Children start with the unregulated mental immune system without delayed gratification due to mental immaturity, and gradually acquire the regulated mental immune system with delayed gratification through mental maturity. Adolescents transit to adulthood. Independent adults have the regulated metal immune system, individualistic sociality with reciprocity, and competitive-cooperative worldviews without boundary. After the age of 50, older people as elder leaders-mentors develop generativity sociality to protect next generation. The paper shows that the mental protective system as the universal psychological mechanism for developmental psychology explains clearly psychosocial protective development, the human evolution, the Piaget’s cognitive development, the Erikson’s psychosocial (ego-social) development, the Confucius’ (educated person’s) six milestones of life, and parent-child relation in the Abrahamic religions (Judaism, Christianity, and Islam) and Confucianism.展开更多
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to clarify the relationship and experiences of occupational health nurses (OHNs) and related departments in project development of mental health care for primary treatment in the...Purpose: The purpose of this study was to clarify the relationship and experiences of occupational health nurses (OHNs) and related departments in project development of mental health care for primary treatment in the Japanese occupational health setting. Method: A total of 235 OHNs who are members of the Japan Academy of Occupational Health Nursing were sent an anonymous self-administered questionnaire survey. The questionnaire included items on the following: the OHN’s background, whether the OHN had experience in project development, the communication between the associated departments, the Japanese version of the Work Engagement Scale (UWES-J), occupational assessments, workplace assessments, and the Transtheoretical Model (TTM) for health promotion in companies and the OHN’s working environment. We performed logistic regression analysis to examine the relationship between experience and these harmonious relationships with other associated departments. Result: Responses from 61 OHNs (valid response rate: 25.9%) were analyzed. The mean number of years of service as an OHN was 18.9, and 82% of respondents had experience in project development. The logistic analysis further revealed that OHNs who had experience in project development of mental health care usually had a harmonious relationship with other associated departments. Conclusion: To promote mental health care for workers, OHNs have the capability to create individual and workplace assessments, enhance their work engagement, and make further improvements to their working environment. .展开更多

In this article, SMM is ...This article aims to investigate the public's sustainability mental model(SMM), which can reveal the sustainability dilemma from the public respective, other than enterprise or government. In this article, SMM is defined as one's cognitive structure, thinking mode, and behavior tendency when someone deals with sustainability issues. After theoretical analysis, the authors developed reliable and valid measures systematically and conducted a typical survey with 581 participants from college students' families in Guangdong province in China. Based on those samples, the author used the exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis to construct a measurement model of SMM, which includes three dimensions, i.e. sustainable cognition, sustainable thinking, and sustainable behavior intention. According to SMM survey and clustering analysis, the results indicate that SMM of those participants is inactive. Even though those samples do not represent the whole country comprehensively, but this survey was sampled typically and they came from around China. So, the authors consider the SMM scores can reflect Chinese people to some extent, leading to the assumption that SMM of Chinese people is not active presently.展开更多
