Purpose: The main goal of this study is to provide reliable comparison of performance in higher education. In this respect, we use scientometric measures associated with faculties of medicine in the six health studies universities in Romania.Design/methodology/approach: The method to estimate the minimum necessary size, proposed in in Shen et al.(2017), is applied in this article. We collected data from the Scopus data-base for the academics of the departments of medicine within the six health studies universities in Romania during the 2009 to 2014. And two kind of statistic treatments based on that method are implemented, pair-wise comparison and one-to-the-rest comparison. All the results of these comparisons are shown.Findings: According to the results: We deem that Cluj and Tg. Mure? have the superior and inferior performance respectively, since their reasonably small value of the minimum representative size, in either of the kinds of comparison, whichever indexes of citations, h-index, or g-index is used. we can not reliably distinguish differences among the rest of the faculties, since the quite large value of their minimum representative size.Research limitations: There is only six faculties of medicine in health studies universities in Romania are analyzed.Practical implications: Our methods of comparison play an important role in ranking data sets associated with different collective units, such as faculties, universities, institutions, based on some aggregate scores like mean and totality. Originality/value: We applied the minimum representative size to a new emprical context- that of the departments of medicine in the health studies universities in Romania. 展开更多

It is challenging to characterize the drug-related problems(DRPs)of patients treated by Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine(ITCWM),both locally and globally. In the present study,we aimed to assess DRPs and factors associated with their occurrence among inpatients of the ITCWM department in China. We retrospectively examined medication use in the ITCWM department, documented in Intelligent Management System Software for Critical Rational Administration of Drug.Various types of DRPs classification were performed based on the Pharmaceutical Care Network Europe(PCNE)classification tool V9.0,and associations of patient’s characteristics were analyzed.A total of 1606 DRPs were identified in 687 inpatients in this study.Problems and causes of DRPs,intervention, acceptance, and outcome of that were classified.PPI(21.7%),endogenous supplements(15.4%),and traditional Chinese medicine(8.7%)contributed to the significant proportion of drug categories associated with DRPs.Approximately half of the patients(47.6%)had at least one DRP.The top four categories of causes were“drug administered via the wrong route”(18.4%),“inappropriate combination”(16.7%),“too long duration of the treatment”(13.0%),and“inappropriate drug form”(12.1%).Total 63.6%of intervention was accepted and fully implemented.“EPP”and“hospital stay days≥10 d”characteristics were most likely to be significantly associated with DRPs.As a necessary review item,DRP was highly performed among inpatients of the ITCWM department. The work provided a benchmark for this population through the PCNE strategy. 展开更多

Objective: to analyze the application effect of quality control circle in nursing safety management in the department of critical care medicine. Methods: 80 patients in the department of severe medicine were randomly divided into the control group and the observation group. The control group received routine nursing and the observation group received quality management circle management to compare the effect of nursing management. Results: the effect of nursing management in the observation group was better than that in the control group (P0.05). Conclusion: during the period of clinical nursing for patients in the department of critical care, the quality management circle should be taken as an important means to maintain the safety of patient care. By giving full play to the advantages of the quality management circle in the clinical nursing process, a perfect clinical safety nursing management system should be built to control the possible risk events in the nursing process, reduce the risk coefficient to the lowest, improve the patients satisfaction and quality of care, and improve the incidence of adverse events, which is worth promoting. 展开更多

Objective To assess the effect of tetrandrine (Tet) pulmonary targeting microspheres on hypoxic pulmonary hypertension and evaluate its selective action on pulmonary circulation. Methods Twenty rats were exposed to hypoxic conditions for 3 weeks. Ten rats were used as normoxic controls. We administered Tet pulmonary targeting microspheres to 10 hypoxic rats and Tet aqueous solution to 10 hypoxic rats and the 10 control rats. Mean pulmonary arterial pressure (mPAP) was measured by a right cardiac catheterization, and mean systemic blood pressure (mSBP) was measured by left femoral catheterization. Results Rats exposed to hypoxia developed pulmonary hypertension. The decrease in mPAP in rats treated with Tet pulmonary targeting microspheres was significantly greater than that in rats receiving Tet aqueous solution (P【0.05), and the effects were longer with Tet pulmonary targeting microspheres. Moreover, Tet pulmonary targeting microspheres, unlike Tet aqueous solution, did not decrease mSBP.Conclusion Tet pulmonary targeting microspheres were more effective than Tet aqueous solution in treating hypoxic pulmonary hypertension and acted selectively on the pulmonary circulation. 展开更多
