Ker Gawl. ex Spreng., Sternbergiafischeriana (Herb.) Roem and Sternbergia colchiciflora Waldst. & Kit.. Under this study, the natural populations of species, which possess valuable medicinal and ornamental properties, have been assessed by experts as vulnerable, and S. colchiciflora is included in the red list of endemic plants of the Caucasus, as having status of the critically endangered species. The situation is aggravated by the poor self-regeneration capacity of these species, which is one of the main factors responsible for the sustainability of the population of this or that species in the wild. Self-regeneration capacity for sexual reproduction was investigated in the listed species of the genus Sternbergia using common methods of embryology and reproduction biology. In conditions of the National Botanical Garden of Georgia (NBGG), the species S. lutea and S. fischeriana prove to be completely infertile and propagate vegetatively by bulblets, while S. colchiciflora revealed the ability for propagation by seed. Long-term conservation of seeds of the studied species S. colchiciflora in the Caucasus Regional Seed Bank (CRSB) and establishing of living collections of this species at the experimental plot were chosen as the method for safeguarding this critically endangered species.展开更多

Organic soil amendments are a costeffective source of nutrients to enhance crop growth. A field study was conducted to evaluate the effect of an organic soil amendment bioaugmented with plant growth-promoting fungi(SF_(OA) ) in combination with gypsum on soil properties and growth and yield attributes of Withania somnifera, one of the most valuable crops of the traditional medicinal system in the world, on a sodic soil at the Aurawan Research Farm of CSIR-National Botanical Research Institute, Lucknow, India. The SF_(OA) used was prepared by pre-enriching farm waste vermicompost with plant growth-promoting fungi before mixing with pressmud and Azadirachta indica seed cake. The application of SF_(OA) at 10 Mg ha^(-1)after gypsum(25.0 Mg ha^(-1)) treatment significantly(P < 0.05) increased root length(by 96%) and biomass(by 125%) of Withania plants compared to the control without SF_(OA) and gypsum. Similarly, the highest withanolide contents were observed in leaves and roots of Withania plants under 10 Mg ha^(-1)SF_(OA) and gypsum. Combined application of SF_(OA) and gypsum also improved physical, chemical and enzymatic properties of the soil, with the soil bulk density decreasing by 25%, water-holding capacity increasing by 121%, total organic C increasing by 90%, p H decreasing by 17% and alkaline phosphatase, β-glucosidase, dehydrogenase and cellulase activities increasing by 54%, 128%, 81% and 96%, respectively, compared to those of the control. These showed that application of the SF_(OA) tested in this study might reclaim sodic soil and further support Withania cultivation and results were better when the SF_(OA) was applied after gypsum treatment.展开更多

When stir-frying medicinal materials, no auxiliary materials are added, and only equipment is used to control the stir-frying temperature. Through stir-frying, expected changes in the appearance, smell and medicinal properties of the medicinal materials are promoted, and the application value of the Chinese medicinal materials is improved. In this paper, the method of stir-frying is briefly described, and the three operation methods of stir-frying yellow, stir-frying coke and stir-frying charcoal are explained. The practical application of stir-frying Chinese medicine processing is also analyzed.
文摘Limited availability of organic matter is a problem to sustain crop growth on sodic soil. These showed that application of the SF_(OA) tested in this study might reclaim sodic soil and further support Withania cultivation and results were better when the SF_(OA) was applied after gypsum treatment.

文摘Edible mushrooms are ubiquitous around the world due to their enormous health benefits.Mushrooms have been used as folk medicine and healthy food from ancient times but their health-promoting effects have not been explored. As a superfood, mushroom powder is an essential component of the human diet for improving health and immunity.Bioactive components present in them such as proteins, polysaccharides, terpenes, and lipids have recently sparked much attention to exhibit therapeutic properties such as anti-cancer,immunomodulatory,antihypercholesterolemia,antiviral,antidiabetic,and anti-inflammatory effects. Moreover, these isolated compounds have the potentiality to be used in dietary supplements and medicines. In addition, numerous bioactive compounds such as ergosterol, gallic acid, and cordycepin proved to be essential in preventing or reducing the severity of COVID-19.This review unveils a comprehensive understanding of the nutraceutical as well as the medicinal potential of mushrooms and their applications in food products for human wellness.
文摘Camel milk is the mainstay for millions of people in arid and semi-arid environments. In these areas,it is mainly consumed raw or after it spontaneously turns sour.Although some attempts have been made to produce dairy products from camel milk, processing of camel milk is generally considered to be difficult and the quality of the final products made from camel milk do not correspond to their bovine milk counterparts. This paper reports a comprehensive analysis of the literature on camel milk products and presents synthesis of the latest developments, limitations pertaining processing and opportunities for development of new and improved camel milk products. The protein composition and colloidal structure of camel milk differs from cow milk.It is characterized by absence of β-lactoglobulin,lowκ-casein content, high proportion of β-casein,larger casein micelles and smaller fat globules. These differences lead to the difficulty of making dairy products from camel milk using the same technologies as for bovine milk. Some of the challenges of camel milk processing include poor stability of the milk during UHT treatment, impaired rennetability, formation of weak and fragile curd during coagulation, longer fermentation time, and low thermal stability of the milk during drying.Despite these difficulties,it has now become possible to produce a range of commercial and traditional dairy products from camel milk. Some of the strategies that could be applied to improve the quality and characteristics of camel milk products are discussed.

文摘Objective:To test whether Shenfu Injection(参附注射液,SFI)might attenuate the impact of cerebral energy dysfunction after resuscitation in a pig model of cardiac arrest(CA).Methods:Thirty-four Wuzhishan miniature inbred pigs were randomly divided into three groups:the SFI group(n=12),the saline group(SA group,n=12),and the sham-operated group(sham group,n=10).Following successful return of spontaneous circulation(ROSC)from 8-min untreated ventricular fibrillation, animals received a continuous infusion of either SFI(0.2 mL/min)or saline for 6 h.Cerebral performance category score was evaluated at 24and 48 h after ROSC,followed by positron emission tomography and computed tomography scans of cerebral glucose uptake.Surviving pigs were euthanized 48 h after ROSC,and the brains were removed for detecting mitochondrial function. Results:Compared with the SA group,SFI treatment produced a better neurologic outcome48 h after ROSC(P〈0.05).However,there was no significant difference of survival rate between the SA and SFI groups(83.3%vs.81.8%,P〉0.05).After ROSC,the SA group showed a decrease in the maximum standardized uptake value of different regions in the brain tissue, where SFI treatment can ameliorate these decreases(P〈0.01or P〈0.05).Improved mitochondrial respiratory properties and higher mitochondrial membrane potential were also found following SFI treatment compared with the SA group at 48 h after ROSC(P〈0.05 or P〈0.01).Conclusion:SFI treatment after resuscitation has significant neuroprotective effects against disruption of cerebral energy metabolism from CA by improving glucose uptake and by normalizing mitochondrial function.
