Exploration on the Effect and Mechanism of Shenfu Injection (参附注射液) on Resuscitation from General Anesthesia

Objective: To investigate the effect and the mechanism of Shenfu injection (SFI, ) on the resuscitation from general anesthesia . Methods: Forty patients who received selective abdominal surgery with general anesthesi... Objective: To investigate the effect and the mechanism of Shenfu injection (SFI, ) on the resuscitation from general anesthesia . Methods: Forty patients who received selective abdominal surgery with general anesthesia for 3-4 hrs and ASA grade Ⅰ-Ⅱ were divided into two groups, the trial group and the control group, 20 patients in each group. After being sent into the postanesthesia care unit (PACU), the trial group was treated with intravenous dripping of SFI 1.0 ml/kg and the control group was treated with intravenous dripping of equal volume of normal saline. All patients were observed in double blindly manner, the self ventilation recovery time, extubation time, the time of leaving PACU and their Glasgow coma scale (GCS) were recorded and compared. 2 ml of peripheral venous blood were taken to determine the plasma β-endorphin (β-EP) content at the time points of before (T1), 5min (T2), 15min (T3) and 30 min (T4) after dripping. Results: The self ventilation recovery time, extubation time and time of leaving PACU in the trial group were all shorter than those in the control group (P<0 01), the GCS in the trial group was better than that in the control group (P<0 01). The plasma content of β-EP raised gradually along the recovering of patients consciousness, as compared with the content before dripping (T1), it showed insignificant difference at time point T2 but significant difference at T3 and T4, comparison at the corres ponding time point showed that the content at T1 and T2 were similar in the two groups (P>0 05), but at T3 and T4, the content was higher in the trial group than that in the control group respectively (P<0 01). There was insignificant difference between T1 and before treatment ( P>0 05), but significant difference was found when compared T3, T4 and before treatment (P<0 01).Conclusion: SFI could accelerate the resuscitation after general anesthesia, the mechanism may be related with its action in raising plasma β-EP level. 展开更多

Path planning is important for mobile robot to ensure safe and efficient navigation.This paper proposes a hybrid artificial bee colony with genetic augmented exploration mechanism(HABC-GA)that enables mobile robot to achieve safe and smooth path planning.Considering the characteristics of path planning problem,a mathematical model is constructed to balance three objectives:path length,path safety,and path smoothness.In the employed bee phase,a genetic augmented exploration mechanism is designed,which encompasses redesigned path crossover,adaptive obstacle-aware mutation,and dynamic elite selection operators.In the onlooker bee phase,an objective-guided optimization strategy is investigated to improve local search ability.In the scout bee phase,a dual exploration restart strategy is developed to increase the activity of individuals in the population,in which stagnant individuals in the evolution are replaced by more promising ones.Finally,the proposed HABC-GA is compared with five efficient algorithms in 24 instances of six representative environments.Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness and high performance of HABC-GA in obtaining safe and smooth paths. 展开更多

Copper antimony selenium(CuSbSe_(2))has advantages of adjustable band gaps from 1.09 eV to 1.2 eV,high light absorption coefficient(>105 cm-1),and low grain generation temperature(300—400℃),which is suitable for the preparation of solar cells.However,the stable range of CuSbSe_(2)(CASe)phase is narrow,which is inevitable to form Sb_(2)Se_(3)and Cu_(3)SbSe_(4)second phase during the preparation process.In this work,selenization annealing of Sb/Cu metal layer to prepare CASe thin films with pulse electrodeposition process was studied,and the growth mechanism of CASe film was analyzed.Cu and Sb reacted with Se to form Cu_(2)Se and Sb_(2)Se_(3),respectively.Then Cu_(2)Se and Sb_(2)Se_(3)further reacted to generate CASe.Since the formation temperature of Cu_(3)SbSe_(4)was lower than that of CASe,the preferential formation of Cu_(3)SbSe_(4)led to layer separation.When the annealing temperature was too high,CASe decomposed to form Cu_(3)SbSe_(3)and Sb_(2)Se_(3).Additionally,by increasing the heating rate,the separation of CASe thin films was effectively improved,and the CASe thin films with relatively high crystallinity were obtained at 360℃with heating rate of 30℃/min and selenization time of 20 min. 展开更多

RESULTS: HSP70-PC immunization rendered protective effect to both naive tumorl-bearing mice. Globally,ovarian cancer(OvCa)is the deadliest gynecological malignancy,which threatens women's health.1 Despite innovations in cancer treatments,nearly 70%of OvCa patients still suffered tumor recurrence and poor survival after standard therapy.1 Therefore,further research is urgently needed to identify prognostic biomarkers and explore specific mechanisms for OvCa.Tertiary lymphoid structure(TLS),a newly acknowledged form of ectopic lymphoid tissues,plays a crucial role against cancer,though have not been validated in OvCa yet.2 Here,we developed and validated a TLS-related gene(TRG)signature to predict drug sensitivity and prognosis for OvCa patients via bioinformatics analysis.Moreover,through PCR and multiplex immunohistochemical analyses,we validated the importance of TLS and the related signature,particularly STAT5A(signal transducer and activator of transcription 5 A),thus assisting clinical decision-making for OvCa precision treatment. 展开更多

CONSPECTUS:Hydrogen medicine materials are defined as a new concept of biomedical materials specifically engineered to overcome critical challenges in hydrogen medicine,including exploration of biological effects and mechanisms of H2 by in vivo monitoring of H2 transportation,metabolism and transformation,enhancement of H2 therapeutic efficacy against various oxidative stress-related diseases by high-efficiency and site-specific delivery and controlled release of H2,etc.As the smallest and weakly reductive molecule,H2 exhibits some unique biological characteristics,including high tissue permeability,antioxidative stress(OS),anti-inflammation,antiapoptosis,antisenescence,pro-regeneration/pro-self-repairing,anticancer,antibiofilm,high bio-compatibility,and biosafety,holding a high value of biomedical applications.However,the related biological mechanisms are not very clear.Typically,multifaceted biological behaviors of H2 in varied pathological microenvironments,such as inflammation,cancer,and injured tissue,have not been well elucidated.Moreover,as a therapeutic agent,the pharmacokinetics of H2,involving absorption,biodistribution,metabolism,and excretion,has to be clarified before clinical application,which needs the development of hydrogen bioprobes to resolve.Based on high biosafety and therapeutic validity of H2,both hydrogen gas inhalator and hydrogen-rich water generator have been clinically approved for adjuvant therapy of some respiratory and digestive system diseases including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD),hyperuricemia,hyperlipemia,gastrelcosis and coprostasis,but they hardly realize effective delivery toward remote diseased focuses.Therefore,efficient,site-specific and controlled/sustained H2-delivering materials with high biosafety urgently need to be developed for improving the outcome of hydrogen therapy.Based on these unique advantages and unsolved key issues in hydrogen medicine,hydrogen medicine materials as an emerging interdisciplinary field have attracted increasing attention in recent years.In this Account,we present a brief overview of the recent advances of hydrogen medicine materials including hydrogen bioprobes and hydrogen-delivering materials(hydrogen carriers,hydrolytic hydrogen-generating materials,and catalytic hydrogen-generating materials),as well as their typical biomedical applications including targeted inflammation therapy,targeted tumor therapy,and local tissue repair/regeneration.Finally,a forward-looking perspective on hydrogen medicine materials is demonstrated,which attempts to address the current clinical challenges in the field of hydrogen medicine.Especially,the development of small molecular bioprobes for in vivo H2 detection,the understanding of H2 pharmacokinetics and potential bioeffects,the exploration of the profound mechanisms underlying multifaceted biological behaviors of H2,the development of versatile hydrogen-delivering materials for the treatment of various intractable diseases,and the evaluation of potential long-term toxicity risk of both high-dose H2 and hydrogen〓〓delivering materials are highlighted.This Account is expected to illuminate the way for exploration of hydrogen medicine materials. 展开更多

Rapid imaging of chaotic modes in optical microcavities

Identifying optical modes in chaotic cavities is crucial for exploring and understanding the physical mechanisms inside them.Compared with free spectral range estimation,the direct imaging technique has the capability of providing more precise mode information,but it is extremely time-consuming and susceptible to environmental perturbations.Here we report a high-speed imaging technique for visualizing field distributions in chaotic microcavities.When a silicon microdisk is excited by a femtosecond laser,free carriers are locally generated,thereby reducing the refractive index.Under a constant laser power,the spatial distribution of mode inside the silicon microdisk is proportional to its wavelength shift and can be precisely identified by comparing it with numerical simulation.With the assistance of a galvanometer,imaging a mode profile only takes a few hundred milliseconds to a few seconds,orders of magnitude faster than previous reports.The impacts of slight fabrication deviations on spectra have also been identified. 展开更多

The trace amount of CO in H2-rich gas poisons Pt electrode when it is adopted as feedstock for proton-exchange-membrane fuel cells.Preferential oxidation of CO(PROX)is a promising approach to selectively oxidize the trace amount of CO while keeping H2 unoxidized.Catalyst plays important roles in PROX.To date,enormous catalysts have been developed for PROX.Summarizing the catalysts developed for PROX and unveiling the reaction mechanism could definitely advance this research field.Herein,in this review,according to the nature of the active sites on the catalysts,we classify the catalysts into group VIII metal-based catalyst,group IB metal-based catalysts,group VIII-group IB bimetallic catalysts,transitional metal oxide catalysts as well as others,describe the progress of the catalysts in PROX in the latest five years,and extract the underlying reaction mechanism,with the aim to provide guidance for the rational design of efficient catalysts in the future. 展开更多
