After the propagation into Vietnam, Marxism not only influenced national liberation movements, but also profoundly affected scholars, particularly scholars of social science. In fact, many of well-known Vietnamese scholars have relied on Marxism’s theory of social existence and social consciousness, infrastructure and superstructure, practical concept, concept of class struggle, etc. to comment on poetry, history, language, geography, philosophy, etc. In other words, the scholars have applied Marxist methodology to explore and study cultural and social life in Vietnam; and in that way, a generation of Marxist researchers in the field of social sciences has been formed. After the renovation of the country, the Government of Vietnam has implemented its policy of openness and international integration, and scholars have been therefore able to receive many other Western ideals and cultures, and the Marxist methodology was not the only one used in social science research. Consequently, some people expressed their skepticism about the role of Marxist methodology in academic research in Vietnam, even completely denied the historical significance of Marxist methodology to the academia in Vietnam. This article is intended, through Vietnamese Marxist scholars, especially the ones in the field of social sciences prior to 1986 （i.e., prior to the renovation of the country） to demonstrate the historical significance of the Marxist methodology to the Vietnamese academia. The study focused on the elements of nationalist consciousness as the language of indifference in Philippine literature through the works of select contemporary Filipino writers.Identified masterpieces of the Don Carl...The study focused on the elements of nationalist consciousness as the language of indifference in Philippine literature through the works of select contemporary Filipino writers.Identified masterpieces of the Don Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards for Literature 1 awardees that have Marxist tendencies were evaluated using the Marxist Literary Approach to identify the elements of nationalist consciousness and to deduce the implications on the relationship of literature and society.The elements of nationalist consciousness were identified by taking in consideration the main struggles of the characters which were revealed in the characters’lines.These were classified using a researcher-made checklist.Common and recurring themes like class struggle,injustice,wanton disregard for human worth,indifference,moral degradation,political unrest,insurgency,inequality,exploitation,harassment,police brutality,poverty,and violence were considered negative elements as they mirror the struggles of the oppressed and abused characters.The significant contribution of the study lies in its richness in values,realities,and insights into human experiences as it ascertained the socio-economic problems embedded in the works.Evidently as concluded,reforms,justice,and true peace were found absent in the works and these were the essential values that the characters and personas tried to find as they relate with other characters.Fundamentally,literature and society are inseparable and that literary prisms can be vehicles of change in the society.展开更多

文摘The Marxist ecological view suggests a dialectical relationship between humans and nature.Only by integrating the initiative of human beings with developing laws of the nature,can we achieve the harmonious coexistence and development of humans and nature.From the perspective of Marxist ecological view,colleges should strengthen the education of college students’ecological values and guide them to have a deeper command of the true nature of Marxist ecological view.The author explores and analyzes the Marxist ecological view,and come up with an effective strategy for teaching college students’ecological values under the Marxist ecological view,hoping to help college students develop correct ecological values.
文摘The study focused on the elements of nationalist consciousness as the language of indifference in Philippine literature through the works of select contemporary Filipino writers.Identified masterpieces of the Don Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards for Literature 1 awardees that have Marxist tendencies were evaluated using the Marxist Literary Approach to identify the elements of nationalist consciousness and to deduce the implications on the relationship of literature and society.The elements of nationalist consciousness were identified by taking in consideration the main struggles of the characters which were revealed in the characters’lines.These were classified using a researcher-made checklist.Common and recurring themes like class struggle,injustice,wanton disregard for human worth,indifference,moral degradation,political unrest,insurgency,inequality,exploitation,harassment,police brutality,poverty,and violence were considered negative elements as they mirror the struggles of the oppressed and abused characters.The significant contribution of the study lies in its richness in values,realities,and insights into human experiences as it ascertained the socio-economic problems embedded in the works.Evidently as concluded,reforms,justice,and true peace were found absent in the works and these were the essential values that the characters and personas tried to find as they relate with other characters.Fundamentally,literature and society are inseparable and that literary prisms can be vehicles of change in the society.
文摘The confidence of a nation and its people in their culture represents their awareness of their culture.There are three elements underpinning China's confidence in its culture.First,China boasts a solid foundation for its fine traditional culture.This is an advanced culture with a long history and is profound,far-reaching,full of vitality and highly influential.It is an integration of diversities sharing the same root,which gives the culture its energy.On the one hand,it is continuingly absorbing other cultures;on the other hand,it always binds the nation together with the same spirit.In addition,traditional Chinese culture passionately puts people first,reflects the common grounds of human cultures,represents the common aspirations of human cultures,and as a result,its advanced nature and social values are recognized worldwide.Second,adherence to Marxism is a source of effective guidance for China's cultural development.Marxism is a crystallization of advanced human culture.It reveals culture's nature,characteristics,structure,functions and development patterns and provides the well-conceived methodology guiding cultural development.In terms of worldviews,methodologies and values,it offers a reasonable premise upon which people can understand,handle and carry out cultural development.In addition,it keeps examining and criticizing these premises and restructuring them.This makes cultural development,continuous,standard,pioneering and creative.Third,people's creativity is a source of strength for their confidence in their culture.The people are creators of culture and their practice,and creation boost cultural development.The Chinese nation is creative and is highly capable of cultural creation.The great practice of building socialism with Chinese characteristics is an inexhaustible source of the people's cultural creation.To maintain their confidence in Chinese culture,the Chinese people must emancipate their minds,develop new concepts,analyze new developments,review their fresh experiences,and keep creating and developing socialist new culture.
