Meanwhile, farmers in this region have to allocate 10% - 20% of rice sales for purchasing chemical fertilizer. Therefore, it is essential to be adopted more inexpensive organic fertilizer. To deal with these problems, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has signed a contract with Da Nang city government about human waste treatment and production of organic biomass liquid fertilizer (OBLF) in 2015. The aims of this project are to promote the use of OBLF in farming and improve public awareness of environmental protection. 530 respondents were interviewed at Hoa Vang districts of Da Nang city, and data was analyzed by Contingent Valuation Method (CVM) under double bounded dichotomous choice approach. The results have revealed that 436 respondents (82%) agreed to use OBLF. The farmers’ WTP depends on factors including household income, experience in using organic fertilizer, awareness of environment and training of organic fertilizer in the past. The estimated price for OBLF was 94,856 VND (4.0 USD)/ton. The cost that farmers paid for OBLF was lower than that of current available chemical fertilizers in Da Nang city. This proves that marketability seems to be existed for OBLF product in Da Nang city. From these findings, the government should have policies to support and subsidize the farmers to encourage them to use OBLF in a large scale of cultivation. Furthermore, establishment of a market to consume the organic products harvested from cultivated areas using OBLF is also recommended.展开更多

Mango is among the most economically and culturally important tropical fruits. Mangos have become a standard food crop in south Iran. Quality determination of fruits is at present characterized by the overwhelming use of sensory. Quality indices include primarily external properties, such as appearance, size, shape, colour, texture, and flavour. Mangoes are rich in antioxidants. Antioxidants are really necessary for human diet and a healthy and longer life. Numerous phytochemicals are present in mango peel and pulp, such as the triterpene, lupeol which is under basic research for its potential biological effects. Thus high quality will attract people to the high consumption of fruits. Cultivars prepared with the origin of the Iran, India, Pakistan, and the Philippines. In this study, 10 cultivars were compared in terms of some indicators of quality in Ahvaz. One of the mango quality evaluation methods is sensory laboratory evaluation (panel test). This research carried out at 2013 in Chamran University, Ahvaz, Iran. The result indicated that the most quality was related to Alphonso cultivar. The annual compliance cycle of the carbon trading system allows generation companies(GenCos)to decouple the timing of carbon allowance purchases from their actual emissions.However,trading a large volume of allowances...The annual compliance cycle of the carbon trading system allows generation companies(GenCos)to decouple the timing of carbon allowance purchases from their actual emissions.However,trading a large volume of allowances within a single day can significantly impact on carbon prices.Faced with uncertain future carbon and electricity prices,GenCos must address a challenging multistage stochastic optimization problem to coordinate their carbon trading strategies with daily power generation decisions.In this paper,a two-layered hybrid mathematical-deep reinforcement learning(DRL)optimization framework is proposed.The upper DRL layer tackles the stochastic,year-long carbon trading and allowance usage optimization problem,aiming for long-term optimality and providing guidance for short-term decisions in the lower layer.The lower mathematical optimization layer addresses the deterministic daily power generation schedule problem while enforcing strict technical constraints.To accelerate learning of the annual compliance cycle,a decision timeline transfer learning method is proposed,enabling the DRL agent to progressively refine its policy through sequentially training on monthly,weekly and daily decision environments.Case studies demonstrate that,with these methods,a GenCo can reduce emission costs and increase profits by effectively leveraging carbon price fluctuations within the compliance cycle.展开更多

To gain an in-depth understanding of China’s urban labor market,the Institute of Population and Labor Economics at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences(IPLE-CASS)conducted the fifth wave of the China Urban Labor Su...To gain an in-depth understanding of China’s urban labor market,the Institute of Population and Labor Economics at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences(IPLE-CASS)conducted the fifth wave of the China Urban Labor Survey in 2023,which covers eight major representative cities.The survey collected 9,122 household questionnaires and 26,145 individual questionnaires from 381 neighborhood committees.Based on this data,the report systematically analyzes employment,wages,educational attainment,and social security among China’s urban workforce.Key findings include an inverted U-shaped age pattern of labor force participation,with a widening gender gap after childbearing age.Additionally,job search methods combine market-based channels with traditional social networks.Notably,the gender wage gap persists and widens over the life cycle,while employed women now have higher average years of schooling than men.Rural-to-urban migrants show higher labor force participation rates but remain disadvantaged in wages,education,and social security coverage.Thus,this survey provides a comprehensive picture of the structural characteristics and challenges of China’s urban labor market,providing a solid data foundation for academic research and public policy design.展开更多
