Traditional tools such as Gantt charts, CPM, and PERT often overlook uncertainties. This study identifies 20 complexity factors through expert interviews and literature, categorising them into six groups. The Analytical Hierarchy Process evaluated the significance of different factors, establishing their corresponding weights to enhance adaptive project scheduling. A system dynamics (SD) model is developed and tested to evaluate the dynamic behaviour of identified complexity factors. The model simulates the impact of complexity on total project duration (TPD), revealing significant deviations from initial deterministic estimates. Data collection and analysis for reliability tests, including normality and Cronbach alpha, to validate the model’s components and expert feedback. Sensitivity analysis confirmed a positive relationship between complexity and project duration, with higher complexity levels resulting in increased TPD. This relationship highlights the inadequacy of static planning approaches and underscores the importance of addressing complexity dynamically. The study provides a framework for enhancing planning systems through system dynamics and recommends expanding the model to ensure broader applicability in diverse construction projects.展开更多

To obtain real-time and comprehensive state of project, we use grid management to divide the project supervision grid in three levels: stage, objective, and milestone. Then, a detailed supervision mechanism is designed to help supervisors measure the project situation in real time. This mechanism checks that if the project objectives(such as schedule, cost, quality, and safety) in every supervision grid cell are under the healthy limits, any project deviation can be identified as soon as possible.A schedule objective is selected as an example to illustrate the method used to calculate the healthy limit.展开更多

A social project is considered as a project system based on a set of measures of social orientation; has specific objectives; and is located in space and time-restricted. The sample data of 25 in-depth interviews with representatives of the business community, public authorities, and civil society institutions, all active participants in community development in the Voronezh administrative region served as an empirical basis for this paper. The analysis of respondents' views on the importance of social projects has enabled to define their descriptive and normative features. The main descriptive features include the following: overcoming specific urgent problems in a society; implementing state social policy; quantitative changes in the material life conditions of an individual or a social group; creating labor markets; implementing social innovations; two-way influence of the quality and quantity of social projects and the level of socio-economic structure (company, region, country). Normative features include: encouraged development of state institutions; stability of the environment; balanced socio-economic development; formation of a community of reasonable individuals; development of human potential. Conclusions have been made about the nature, characteristics, and goals and objectives of social projects and their role in social and economic development of the region, spheres of social projects implementation significant for Russia, about active participants, success and failure factors of social projects, prospects and intensity of social engineering in the Voronezh administrative region and Russia as a whole. Soft systems methodology has been used for stating and structuring the empirical data. The results obtained have enabled to lay the foundation for finding the concepts and mechanisms to coordinate the participants in community development.展开更多

The government of Botswana is attempting to increase the construction performance and sustainability of the Botswana construction industry in an environment of local contractors who do not seem to have the expertise and experience. Currently, the Botswana industry is heavily dependent on foreign contractors. The researchers are trying to identify if the problem is the underdeveloped industry and Botswana culture, or potentially the combination of culture and unstable delivery system, and can a stable delivery system raise the performance of Botswana contractors. The two potential areas of interest are the country culture, and the project delivery/management model. The authors are using deductive logic, logical and simplistic models, and dominant or extreme information to minimizing the need to get into a long drawn out study of details which may be difficult to obtain and not necessarily solve the issue. The objective of the paper is to identify the best method to increase the performance of the construction industry, addressing both the cultural and delivery system problems. The preliminary measurement of the success of the solution is the acceptance of the concepts by major users in Botswana. This paper will propose the potential solution, which will be tested starting January 2011. If this solution is valid, it has a tremendous potential in underdeveloped countries.展开更多

文摘Currently, the investment of oil and gas industry is still facing an unfavorable environment,in which, instable factors, such as financial crisis, terrorist, religious conflicts and rigorous environmental regulations, keep mucking up the business all around the world.Meanwhile,China’s rapid energy consumption growth boosted by a booming economy has put the country to rely heavily on exported oil.It is therefore extremely urgent to expand and diversify petroleum supply channel in consideration of the country’s energy security. As the world’s economy has been slowly recovering from the slump and

文摘The idea of linear Diophantine fuzzy set(LDFS)theory with its control parameters is a strong model for machine learning and optimization under uncertainty. The activity times in the critical path method(CPM)representation procedures approach are initially static, but in the Project Evaluation and Review Technique(PERT)approach, they are probabilistic. This study proposes a novel way of project review and assessment methodology for a project network in a linear Diophantine fuzzy(LDF)environment. The LDF expected task time,LDF variance,LDF critical path, and LDF total expected time for determining the project network are all computed using LDF numbers as the time of each activity in the project network. The primary premise of the LDF-PERT approach is to address ambiguities in project network activity timesmore simply than other approaches such as conventional PERT,Fuzzy PERT,and so on.The LDF-PERT is an efficient approach to analyzing symmetries in fuzzy control systems to seek an optimal decision. We also present a new approach for locating LDF-CPM in a project network with uncertain and erroneous activity timings. When the available resources and activity times are imprecise and unpredictable, this strategy can help decision-makers make better judgments in a project.A comparison analysis of the proposed technique with the existing techniques has also been discussed. The suggested techniques are demonstrated with two suitable numerical examples.
