The magnetic properties of Cu/Fe/SiO2/Si grown by dc magnetron sputtering were investigated. The in-plane uniaxial magnetic anisotropy was probed by the magneto-optical Kerr effect (MOKE). The value of UMA, Ku = 2.5 x 103 J/m3, was simulated from the field dependence of ac susceptibility along the hard axis according to the Stoner-Wohlfarth (S-W) model, which is consistent with Ku = 2.7~ 103 J/m3 calculated from the magnetic hysteresis loops. Our results show that the magneto-optical Kerr effect susceptometry can be employed to determine the magnetic anisotropy constant owing to its high sensitivity.展开更多

Through changing the thickness of Co films and the lattice of voids, different optical modes were introduced. For a very shallow array of voids, the resonant MOKE was induced by Ag plasma edge resonance, for deeper ones, hybrid plasma modes, such as void plasmons in the voids, surface lattice plasmons between the voids, and the co-action of them, etc. resulted in resonant MOKE. We found that resonant MOKE resulted from the void plasmons resonance which possesses the narrowest bandwidth for the lowest absorption of voids. The simulated electromagnetic field(EF) distribution consolidated different effects of these three optical modes on resonant MOKE modulation. Such resonant polar MOKE possesses high sensitivity, which might pave the way to on-chip MO devices.展开更多

The reflection minima are found to be located at the same wavelengths as the Kerr rotation peaks. The Kerr rotation enhancement is attributed to the excitation of both the surface plasmon polariton in the dielectric PSS/metal interface and the guide waves (guide mode) in the PSS array. The two-dimensional PSSs/SiO2/FePt system exhibiting a tunable magneto-optical Kerr effect and a high perpendicular magnetic anisotropy will be helpful for designing and fabricating magneto-optics devices.展开更多

The optical constants, the complex dielectric func-tion and magneto-optical Kerr parameters were measured at room temperature. For the samples hav-ing low Co compositions, the strong Kerr effect enhancement is observed around the Ag plasma edge. With an increase in annealing temperature, the resonance-like peaks appear in the Kerr rotation, and the peak positions are shifted toward the low photon energy region. From the analysis of the numerical calculations, it is concluded that the magneto-optical Kerr effect enhancement (MOKE) is due to the presence of the steep plasma edge.展开更多

Owing to the competition between domain wall pinning energy and weak uniaxial magnetic anisotropy, the typical magnetization reversal process of Fe ultrathin film can take place via either an "l-jump" process near the easy axis, or a "2-jump" process near the hard axis, depending on the applied field orientation. Besides, the hysteresis loop presents strong asymmetry resulting from the variation of the detected light intensity due to the quadratic magneto-optic effect. Furthermore, we modify the detectable light intensity formula and simulate the hysteresis loops of the Kerr signal. The results show that they are in good agreement with the experimental data.展开更多

Recent evidence shows that strain-mediated magnetostrictive coupling provides an effective pathway for modulating magnonic excitation through quantum interference. Nevertheless, the microscopic origins of magnetocrystalline anisotropy in manipulating magnon excitation pathways, particularly regarding magnonic Kerr nonlinearity and crystal direction constraints, require further investigation. In this study, we construct a dual-frequency driven magnomechanical model based on yttrium iron garnet(YIG) spheres. By introducing a Hamiltonian with the magnonic Kerr nonlinear term, we combine the Heisenberg–Langevin equations and the mean field approximation to analytically solve for the driving efficiency η, and we base our analysis on experimental parameters to evaluate the impacts of the magnonic Kerr coefficient(K), driving field(B_1) and YIG size. The results show that the magnetocrystalline anisotropy induces a MHz-scale frequency shift, splitting the transmission spectrum from a Lorentzian line shape into asymmetric Fano resonance double peaks. The orientation of the external magnetic field(aligned with the [100] or [110] crystallographic axis) allows precise control over the sign of the magnonic Kerr coefficient K, thereby enabling a reversal in the direction of the frequency shift. A strong driving field B_1 not only enables controllable switching of the state but also adjusts the switching bandwidth. Furthermore, we show the transition of the dynamical response mechanism of the excitation efficiency spectrum with varying YIG sphere sizes. The study shows the dynamic control mechanism of the magnetocrystalline anisotropy on magnon switching and provides a theoretical foundation for size optimization and nonlinear energy manipulation in spintronic device design.展开更多

The film was deposited by radio frequency magnetron sputtering method and crystallized by rapid recurrent thermal annealing (RRTA). The results show that the RRTA treated film has good properties both in microwave and optical wave band. The saturation magnetization of the film on different substrates varies from 135.7 to 138.6 kA·m-1. The coercive field of the film on GGG substrate is about 0.32 kA·m-1, while about 0.8-1.43 kA·m-1 on YAG substrate and 1.75 kA·m-1 on Al2O3 substrate. The Faraday angle is about 3-5 (°)·μm-1 when optical wavelength ranges at 450-600 nm. The transmission spectra of the Bi∶YIG films on three substrates has similar change as annealing temperature below 800 ℃. Specially, when annealing temperature is above 800 ℃ a step is observed between 550 and 650 nm wavelength for the film deposited on Al2O3 substrate.Three results are very useful in magneto-optical recording application and integrated microwave devices.展开更多

文摘The magnetization reversal process of Fe/MgO (001) thin film is investigated by combining transverse and longi- tudinal hysteresis loops. The results show that they are in good agreement with the experimental data.

文摘The magneto-optical Kerr effect of La0.7Ca0.3MnO3 at low temperature in far-infrared terahertz and mid-infrared region from 0.2 to 1.2 eV is theoretically investigated by means of the Drude model. The complex con-ductivity and dielectric constants are obtained. The spectra of Kerr rotation with different external magnetic fields B and temperatures T are numerically analyzed. A large Kerr rotation in mid-infrared region could be explained as the incoherent hopping motion of polarons.

文摘Magnetostrictive effects and magnetocrystalline anisotropy are fundamental physical properties governing magnon dynamics in magnetic systems. The study shows the dynamic control mechanism of the magnetocrystalline anisotropy on magnon switching and provides a theoretical foundation for size optimization and nonlinear energy manipulation in spintronic device design.

文摘Microwave–optical entanglement is essential for efficient quantum communication, secure information transfer, and integrating microwave and optical quantum systems to advance hybrid quantum technologies. In this work,we demonstrate how the magnon Kerr effect can be harnessed to generate and control nonreciprocal entanglement in cavity optomagnomechanics(COMM).This effect induces magnon frequency shifts and introduces pair-magnon interactions, both of which are tunable through the magnetic field direction, enabling nonreciprocal behavior.By adjusting system parameters such as magnon frequency detuning,we show that magnon–phonon, microwave–optical photon–photon, and optical photon–magnon entanglement can be nonreciprocally enhanced and rendered more robust against thermal noise.Additionally, the nonreciprocity of entanglement can be selectively controlled, and ideal nonreciprocal entanglement is achievable. This work paves the way for designing nonreciprocal quantum devices across the microwave and optical regimes, leveraging the unique properties of the magnon Kerr effect in COMM.

文摘Quantum gates are the important breakthrough in current computation and high-end data processing. Several quantum logic gates have been implemented in last few decades. In this paper, the idea of all-optical(photonic) Fredkin gate is proposed, which performs the swapping operation by a control signal. Corresponding simulation is also conducted with MATLAB, which shows the same result as the theoretical prediction.

文摘The magnetic and magneto-optical properties of heavily doped Bi∶YIG film were studied. Specially, when annealing temperature is above 800 ℃ a step is observed between 550 and 650 nm wavelength for the film deposited on Al2O3 substrate.Three results are very useful in magneto-optical recording application and integrated microwave devices.

文摘The magneto-optical effects of rare earth ferrite can be greatly improved by doping Ce^(3+)ions.CeFeO_(3)with high Ce^(3+)concentration has excellent magneto-optical properties in theory. And due to its perovskite structure it is more suitable to be deposited on the substrates of optical devices compared with the commercial garnet ferrite. In this paper, the pure phase Ce_(x)Fe_(2-x)O_(3)films were successfully obtained on the quartz glass and <100>-oriented SrTiO3crystal substrates by radio frequency magnetron sputtering. The effects of substrate and Ce:Fe ratio on the epitaxial orientation, magnetism and magnetooptical performance of films were systematically studied. For the Ce1.0Fe1.0O3/STO film, its MCD ellipticity(ψF) intensity can reach up to 4750(°)/cm in the visible band and 14090(°)/cm in near ultraviolet band. And it also shows a strong vertical magnetic anisotropy, which makes it maintain a good thermal stability when the device size is reduced. These mean that the Ce_(1.0)Fe_(1.0)O_(3)/STO film has a promising application in integrated optical communication devices.
