It returned to China with Chen Laiyuan and Hu Ming's translations in 1980s, and since then there emerged various studies by Chinese scholars on Robert van Gulik and his works. This article makes a historical review of Judge Dee Mysteries in Chinese world during the past 20 years, presents problems in translating and introducing Robert van Gulik in Chinese, and proposes comments and suggestions for further translation and studies of Judge Dee Mysteries in a comparison with Chinese gong'an fictions.展开更多

Saudi Arabia is rich not only in its oil, but also in its cultural heritages. With 1,500 rock arts and 4,000 archaeological sites it is the fourth largest rock art region in the world. The entire Saudi Arabia has been...Saudi Arabia is rich not only in its oil, but also in its cultural heritages. With 1,500 rock arts and 4,000 archaeological sites it is the fourth largest rock art region in the world. The entire Saudi Arabia has been comprehensively surveyed, investigated, and documented under the auspices of the Saudi Arabian Department of Antiquities (now Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities). The archaeological and rock art investigations revealed tantalizing results providing the evidence of human presence in the Arabian Peninsula from the early Acheulean period until the present day. In addition to the ancient towns and cities like Madain Saleh (contemporary to Petra in Jordan), Tayma, Domat al-Jandal, Thaj, and al-Fao and Ukhdoud hundreds of strange, mysterious, and mystic structures and petrolyghs are located in the deserts of Arabia. A few of such sites are discussed in this paper, highlighting the strong but still unknown to the world the cultural heritage of Saudi Arabia.展开更多
Exosomes have gained recognition as potential diagnostic and prognostic markers due to their stability and disease-specific cargos.Exosomes,once dismissed as cellular debris,are now acknowledged as crucial mediators o...Exosomes have gained recognition as potential diagnostic and prognostic markers due to their stability and disease-specific cargos.Exosomes,once dismissed as cellular debris,are now acknowledged as crucial mediators of intercellular communications and disease.These nanosized vesicles transport dynamic cargos consisting of bioactive molecules,including proteins,lipids,and nucleic acids,enabling cells to exchange information and influence each other’s behavior.This review delves into the multifaceted roles of exosomes,particularly their emergence as biomarkers for various diseases.To conduct research for this review,a comprehensive literature search strategy was employed across various databases using keywords related to exosomes,biomarkers,cellular communication,disease diagnosis,and more.Selected articles were evaluated based on their relevance,and data were extracted,synthesized,and categorized according to thematic content.Quality assessment was performed on different types of articles,ensuring robust findings.In cancer,exosomes act as liquid biopsy samples,revealing genetic mutations,and protein markers.The misfolded proteins characteristic of neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer disease and Parkinson disease are carried by exosomes.Moreover,exosomes have been studied as biomarkers for cardiovascular,infectious,and autoimmune diseases.In addition to their functions as biomarkers,exosomes influence the tumor microenvironment,immune response,synaptic plasticity,and tissue regeneration.Challenges remain to fill research gaps and standardize exosome analyses.Exosomes are pivotal in intercellular communication and for disease diagnosis,offering insights into cellular processes,immunity,and regeneration.Future research may reshape our understanding of cellular communication and drive therapeutic interventions.Although challenges must be addressed,exosomes hold undeniable potential for use in personalized medicine and biomedical research.展开更多

The functional genes underlying phenotypic variation and their interactions represent“genetic mysteries”.Understanding and utilizing these genetic mysteries are key solutions for mitigating the current threats to ag...The functional genes underlying phenotypic variation and their interactions represent“genetic mysteries”.Understanding and utilizing these genetic mysteries are key solutions for mitigating the current threats to agriculture posed by population growth and individual food preferences.Due to advances in highthroughput multi-omics technologies,we are stepping into an Interactome Big Data era that is certain to revolutionize genetic research.In this article,we provide a brief overview of current strategies to explore genetic mysteries.We then introduce the methods for constructing and analyzing the Interactome Big Data and summarize currently available interactome resources.Next,we discuss how Interactome Big Data can be used as a versatile tool to dissect genetic mysteries.We propose an integrated strategy that could revolutionize genetic research by combining Interactome Big Data with machine learning,which involves mining information hidden in Big Data to identify the genetic models or networks that control various traits,and also provide a detailed procedure for systematic dissection of genetic mysteries,Finally,we discuss three promising future breeding strategies utilizing the Interactome Big Data to improve crop yields and quality.展开更多
