Methods: Peridural injection of Mailuoning Compound Liquor (MCL) was given to 100 cases of PLID, once a week, 4 sessions constituting a therapeutic course. By adopting the scoring method, observations were carried out on the total therapeutic effect and changes in the 13 items of the symptoms and signs. Results: After treatment, the JOA scores in this series of patients were markedly enhanced as compared with the scores before treatment, showing significant differences in the paired t test (P<0.05). The sum of the excellent and good rates was 64%, and the total effective rate was 97%. All the scores in the 13 items under observation were significantly raised as compared with the scores before treatment (P<0.05). Conclusion: Peridural injection of MCL is an effective and safe therapy for PLID, and with shorter treating course, quicker therapeutic effects, and less suffering for the patients.展开更多

RESULTS: Exposure of HUVEC to high glucose (50 mM) significantly suppressed cell viability and increased cell apoptosis compared with normal glu cose (11 mM) (all P〈0.05). However, Mailuoning pre vented highglucoseinduced HUVEC apoptosis in dosedependent manner. Further studies indicated that Mailuoning suppressed highglucoseinduced p38 mitogenactivated protein kinase phosphoryla tion, but had no effect on extracellular signalregu lated kinase 1/2 and Akt phosphorylation. However, the precise anti-oxidation pathway remains uncertain.OBJECTIVE:To validate the protective effects of Mailuoning on H202-induced primary cortical neuron injury in embryonic mice.DESIGN, TIME AND SETTING:Comparative observation and in v#ro experiments were performed at the Jiangsu Key Laboratory for Molecular Medicine from January 2008 to September 2009.MATERIALS:Mailuoning (Nanjing Jinling Medical Company, China), reactive oxygen species (ROS) kit (Beyotime Biotechnology, China), superoxide dismutase (SOD), Cu/Zn SOD kit, malondialdehyde (MDA) kits (Nanjing Jiancheng, China), mitochondrial membrane potential (GMS10013.1, GENMED, USA) and catalase activity assay kit (Beyotime Biotechnology, China) were utilized for the present study.METHODS:Mouse embryonic cortical neurons were isolated and cultured with culture medium containing H2O2 (80 μmol/L) and/or Mailuoning (1.25 μg/mL) for 24 hours.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES:Neuronal viability and death were detected by methyl thiazolyl tetrazdium and flow cytometry; ROS production was determined by flow cytometry; mitochondriai membrane potential was detected using fluorescent staining; SOD activity was detected using a modified nitroblue tetrazolium method; Cu/Zn SOD and catalase activity was detected by spectrophotometry; and MDA was determined using the lipid peroxidation method.RESULTS:H2O2 increased ROS production and MDA concentration (P 〈 0.05), and decreased mitochondrial membrane potential, SOD, Cu/Zn SOD and catalase activity (P 〈 0.05); the number of surviving neurons (P 〈 0.05) was also reduced. Mai/uoning reversed these changes.CONCLUSION:Mailuoning protects H2O2-induced injury in cortical cells by inhibiting ROS and MDA, increasing depolarization of mitochondrial membrane, and enhancing SOD and catalase activity.展开更多
The effect of intravenous Nimotop, a calciumchannel antagonist, in the treatment of cerebral infarction in 32 patients was compared with that of 45 control patients treated with traditional Chinese medicine Mailuoning...The effect of intravenous Nimotop, a calciumchannel antagonist, in the treatment of cerebral infarction in 32 patients was compared with that of 45 control patients treated with traditional Chinese medicine Mailuoning. In the former the total effective rate was 96.9% while in the latter, 88.9% (P>0.05). Both had good effects on patients with cerebral infarction. The effectual rates of the two groups were 81.3% and 60.0% (P<0.05) respectively. Nimotop had a more significant effect on the recovery of neurological deficits and a better effect on the patients in the early stage of the disease with or without mental impairment.展开更多
Objective:To study the effect of Mailuoning injection combined with conventional medical treatment for acute attack of bronchial asthma on inflammatory factor and protease levels as well as signal molecule expression....Objective:To study the effect of Mailuoning injection combined with conventional medical treatment for acute attack of bronchial asthma on inflammatory factor and protease levels as well as signal molecule expression.Methods: Patients with acute attack of bronchial asthma who were treated in Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital of Shunyi District Beijing between January 2015 and January 2018 were selected as the research subjects and randomly divided into the Mailuoning group who accepted Mailuoning injection combined with conventional treatment and the control group who accepted conventional treatment. The levels of inflammatory factors and proteases in serum as well as the expression of signal molecules in peripheral blood were determined before treatment and 3 d after treatment.Results:Compared with those of same group before treatment, serum IL-18, IL-33, MIP-1α, S1P, Eotaxin, MC-CP, ADAM33 and MMP9 levels as well as peripheral blood TIM3, Galectin-9, GATA-3 and RORγt expressions of both groups of patients were significantly lower whereas serum TIMP1 levels and peripheral blood Foxp3 expression were significantly higher 3 d after treatment. Methods: Forty six PIH patients in the treated group were treated with intravenous dripping of MI an...Objective: To observe the effect of treatment of Mailuoning Injection (MI) for pregnancy induced hypertension (PIH). Methods: Forty six PIH patients in the treated group were treated with intravenous dripping of MI and 40 patients in the control group treated with intravenous dripping of 25% magnesium sulfas. Results: Headache and edema were ameliorated significantly in the MI treated group in comparison with the control (P< 0.05). Both methods could the decrease levels of mean arterial pressure, improve hemorheologic change, and lower the hematocrit, but the effects of the former was better than those of the latter. No difference was found in albuminuria, delivery pattern, postpartum bleeding and neonatal Apgar Score between the two groups. Conclusion: MI could prevent the progress of pathological process of the PIH. The therapeutic mechanism of MI might be relevant to the dilatation of the arteriospasm, improvement of the abnormal microcirculation and hemorheologic character of the patients.展开更多
